Photoshop CC upgrade from CS6

I am a single-member app. Why does my Photoshop still say CS6 after the update to CC version?

you can't update ps cs6 to ps cc.
you should download and install ps cc.  if you do not need ps cs6, you can delete it, or you can run both cs6 and cc.

Is it possible to upgrade from CS6 Extended version 13.0 x64 to the latest version?

There are three current version of CS6  perpetual  versions Mac version 13.0.6 and Windows Version version 13.0.1.3 and there is a creative cloud  sibscruption version 13.1.2.
If you running Windows on a 64Bit system and install Perpetual CS6 it would have installed at version 13.0.0 and the be updated to version 13.0.1.3.  Both a 32 bit version and a 64 bit version of Photoshop would have been installed on your windows system.   The 32 bit version will be in your windows  "Program Files (x86)" tree anf the 64 bit version in the "Program Files" tree there should be two startup icon in the start button for starting CS6.
There would also be a 32 bit and 64 bit windows subscription version installed on windows.
    Mac CS6 is 64bit only.

  • Upgrading from CS6 to CC causes the extention .prproj to become corrupted.

After upgrading from CS6 to CC, by installing CC then uninstalling  CS6:  In Windows 7 "prproj" became associated (i.e., "open with") with  Acrobat (?) and will not re-associate with Premiere CC.  Using the windows  procedure to change the "OPEN WITH" target yields no effect whatsoever  --nothing gets changed and it Acrobat still tries to open it.  If I had to guess, this appears to be a  registry-writing bug wherein one of the versions somehow corrupted the registry,  rendering it useless to Premiere  CC.
Premiere  crashes often enough (at least once every day or so) to make it necessary  to go into the backups and retrieve the last auto save. It is harder to do this without a working link.
I already have the latest CC installed so the questions are: Is this a known bug?  Is there a workaround??
    Thanks.

    Some more information:
Premiere does not appear on the default "Open with" list  for .prproj --only Acrobat Pro (which is not a CC install if that makes any difference).  Choosing another application via browse is ignored.
In order to rule out actual Windows as the problem, I tested, and was successfully able to re-associate other extensions (to other applications) using "Open with".  The only extension not responding is .prproj. This suggests either a premiere problem in specific, or an Adobe problem in general since the association for .prproj is stuck on Acrobat.

  • Upgrade from CS6 to CC: please answer my question

While upgrading from CS6 to CC and using the CS6 Master Collection serial number will my existing CS6 Master Collection license remain legal and working and I'll be able to use it in case I will stop CC subscription one day for example?
Thank you in advance for your prompt reply!

Taking a new subscription on the basis of existing CS6 will not affect your CS6 perpetual product. You will still have your CS6 license with you and can use it afterwards.

  • How to upgrade from CS6 to CC?

I want to upgrade from CS5.5 or CS6 to CC.
The procedure I need to follow is -> Adobe Creative Cloud Packager.
    What I did?
    1. On a clean system, I started the Packager to make the package.
    2. No problems installing this package on a clean system.
What I still have to do?
    1. Install the package on a system with CS5.5 of CS6 installed.
    2. Is this a correct procedure?
    Leon

The  CC package deployment was successfully on a Windows 8.1 computer with CS6 installed.
On that PC CS6 and CC are present!
    Is this correct?
This scenario is build in a virtual environment.
I want to start another case B:
    1. A computer installed with Windows 8.1
    2. Installing CS 5.5. on that computer.
    3. Upgrading to CC with the package
    4. Above scenario building in a virtual environment.
When I am installing CS 5.5. on that computer, after installation I get a message: there where problems with your installation. (Exit Code 6)
(Installed twice this scenario, no differences, same message...)
I did not install the upgrade to CC due to this message.
Installing CS 5.5. on a Windows 7 computer is no problem: it succeeds successfully with no message at all.
    What's going wrong?

  • How do I transfer all of my Preferences, etc. when upgrading from CS6 to CC

    Hello,
I just decided to upgrade today from CS6 to CC. After downloading Premier Pro CC, I notice that NONE of my Preferences, Sequence Presets, Media Export Custom Presets, Effects Presets were carried over to the new version of CC.
Surely, I do not have to manually re-create all of these presets/settings.
Can someone please tell me there is an easy way to get everything transfered over from CS6 to CC?
    Thank you,
    Robert

The best option is to use Migration Assistant to restore your data from the old computer, and as you have a Time Machine backup of the old MacBook, use that backup.
The link from where you have posted this question gives you the steps to transfer files from another Mac, but transferring files from a Time Machine backup is even easier. To do it, just connect the Time Machine disk to the new computer and then, open Migration Assistant (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and follow the steps.
When Migration Assistant finishes, you will have a new user with the data you have restored from your backup, so go to  > Log Out and log in the new user. If you want more information about that process, read > http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html
If you haven't set up the new computer yet, you can restore the backup through Setup Assistant. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/SetupLion.html

  • Mercury Hardware Acceleration disappears when upgrading from CS6 to CC.

I have an iMac (27-inch Mid 2011 AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB) with 16gb of memory.
I upgraded Premiere from CS6 to CC. I had mercury hardware acceleration support on CS6. The acceleration option has disappeared following my upgrade to CC.
Have tried this on two machines now.
Can anyone help? Am I missing the obvious?
    Ian.
PS. I first posted this in the CC forum. And was, quite rightly, told to post it here…. :-)

They actually didn't raise it.  It's always required 1GB.

It seems an error of sorts that it worked with less on Macs.  That's been 'corrected'.

  • Keeping plugins when upgrading from CS6 to CC

I just went from Snow Leopard to Mavericks on my mac pro and so I am also upgrading from Premiere Pro CS6 to CC. I'm curious if there is an easy way to make sure all of my plugins come along for the ride.  Or, do I just need to check all my plugins, write a list of what I have and then after I install CC, install everything from my plugin list?
    thanks,
    Mike

Some plugins have new installers for CC.
Some you can just copy from CS6 to CC.

  • Upgrading from CS6 to Dreamweaver CC "up to date" does not allow installation of new product.

I'm trying to upgrade my mac from CS6 to dreamweaver CC, but my adober app manager says my dreamweaver is up to date. I know this is not true because I don't have the insert edge animate project button which the new dreamweaver CC advertises.
How can I install it if my app manager thinks I already have the latest version?

Save you breath: The CC versions won't be available before Monday.

  • Upgrading Photoshop CS5 upgrade to CS6

My base full version is CS4. Bought CS5 upgrade in 2013 and would like to upgrade to CS6.
    Is this possible?
Could be that only the full version of CS5 (i.e. being the 'base'-version) can be upgraded..?
Can't find any info on that.
    Thanks

…I have: the full (trial) versions of  CS4,  CS5 and CS6
    CS4 and CS5 are both registered versions…
Well those trial versions only last for 30 days.  They are totally irrelevant to this discussion.  They would have done you absolutely no good for anything.
    As I wrote above:
ALL Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS.  They do not need to find a previous version installed at all.  If they don't, they will simply prompt you for the old serial number of the qualifying version and the new one.
Your prior versions remain untouched, totally ignored when you install the upgrade.

  • Upgrading from CS6 Design & Web to CS6 Master Suite. (Windows vs. Mac)

I bought the CS6 Design & Web Premium for Windows and want to upgraDE TO cs6 Master Suite. It's not an option in the products pull down menus. Only "upgrade" options are to CS5, CS5.5. There is not upgrade option to upgrade to CS6 master Suite.
Also, I bought my version for Windows, I wanted to see if I could uprade to CS6 Master Suite for Mac. Is it possible since I already purchased the Design Suite?

  • What happens to plug-ins for Premiere Pro when upgrading from CS6 Production Premium to CC?

If I upgrade from CS 6 Production Premium to CCloud, what happens to the plug-ins currently installed in Premiere Pro? Will I lose them (some Red Giant, Synthetic Aperture and such)?

Not only that, there was an internal code change when going from CC to CC2014

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 upgrade to CS6 issue

    Hi there,
I have just upgraded my Photoshop CS5 to Photoshop CS6 but when I enter my serial number for my current version of Photoshop, I get an error message saying my serial number is incorrect.  Am I doing something wrong?  Appreciate any help at all.

Wow, I hadn't realized Adobe was going to keep the upgrade offer from Photoshop CS5 12.x to CS6 13.0 open after Photoshop CC 14.0 was released.
