Photoshop cc Video Timeline. What's new

I just downloaded the trial edition of photoshop cc. I love using the video time line and video layers for animating over the standard framee-by-frame animation. I wanted to know, is there anything new with the latest version of the timeline? I did a small amount of research but i couldn't stumble on much.
P.s. please don't reply with questions like "Why don't you use the frame-by-frame setting?" or "Photoshop cc is a scam!". If I wanted to know/give the answers to these questions I would have asked them.
~ Thanks ahead of time!

Not a whole lot, they added support for camera raw video, mpg2, Dolby audio, Sony Raw video.

• Photoshop CS4 -- Bug in What's New

After installing CS4, I looked in Photoshop for What's New, which previously was to be found under help. I finally found it, under Essentials, but instead of launching What's New, instead you get a panel which says "the selected workspace will modify menu and/or keyboard shortcut sets. Would you like to apply this workspace?" What's going on?

Understood. So jsu how do you find What's New in Photoshop CS4? I see that with In Design, What's New is found in the equivalent location and links to an adobe.com page instead of popping up the mysterious message above referenced.
A search in Photoshop CS4 help yields Workspace > What's New in CS4, which obviously isn't working.

• Photoshop CS6 Video Timeline Pixelated?  Plese Help!!

All objects and text's look great until I hit the play button, then everything becomes pixelated?  Any thoughts on why?  Please help

Any thoughts on why?
Sure:
I hit the play button,
It simply means your system doesn't have enough juice and in order to be able to play at reasonable framerates at all, the footage is degraded/ downsampled. It's an inherent limitation in anything to do with video and realtime playback. You could provide system info and we might give a few pointers to optimize performance, but generally you shouldn't expect "realtimeness" for everything. if that is crucial, you would need a proper video editing application, but even then the hardware requirements would have to be met.

• Since upgrading to FF Ver. 24, I can no longer view videos/clips from fox News. What add-on do I need? Everything else seems to be working OK.

Since upgrading to ver. 24, I can no longer view the video clips from Fox News. the clip comes up but will not play. I don't have a problem using IE. I seldom use IE and FF is my main browser. What add-on or control do I need to rectify this situation? My e-mail is [email protected]
(email obfuscated - please be cautious with posting your email address - c)

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

You should probably just download the trial version of pse 12 and see if you can live with it.
Download a free trial or buy Adobe products | Adobe downloads
That being said, have you tried to install pse 1 on your computer?
How much free space is on your hard drive?
Do you have Internet Explorer 10 or 11?
Pse 1 can run on windows 7 x64, provided certain conditions are met.

Noel, I think the comment referred to my criticism of Chris ‘YE HAH! Orwig’, but surely the presentation is a highly important element of video tutorials, just as it is with Photoshop books — that’s why Scott Kelby is so successful.  His books make you smile or laugh out loud on every page, which means you keep on reading and learning. Scott is also a master of bringing together tips and ideas from his ‘Team’ and making them into a highly polished presentation.  Chris Orwig, on the other hand, is the presentation equivalent of fingernails scraped on a blackboard.
I’ve written to Lynda.com with my concerns regarding the extreme overuse of phrases like “I’m gonna go right ahead” in general, and Chris Orwig specifically.  I have also emailed people like Nigel French (Design and Type titles using Photoshop) and Chad Perkins (Premiere Pro) thanking them for their obvious enthusiasm and the quality of their Lynda.com titles.  I got nice replies from both of them, but nothing from Lynda.com.
You might argue that CO is also enthusiastic about Photoshop, but while his mouth speaks the words, his eyes don’t back them up. Compare Chris Orwig to Deke McCelland, and the wonderful Russell Brown.  The latter two are so genuine, and Russell delightfully eccentric. And both DM and RB are light years ahead of CO regards their knowledge of Photoshop.
Of course it is far from easy to present video tutorials, as Doug says above.  I can still remember being forced in front of the camera while doing media studies (almost 40 years ago) and how dry my mouth became while I tripped over my every word while speaking gibberish.  I am currently filming for a promo for an April 2014 event, that has to be shown this time next year, and I absolutely know I shall be bring in talent for the VO.

• Question regarding Dani Beaumont's video "What's new in Aug. 13": menu first moving, then fixed.

Hi there!
In the Muse-video of Dani Beaumont "What's new in Aug. 13" the possibilities of rollover-stats for anchor links are shown. But what also can be seen as a side effect: the menu Dani speaks about is scrolling up altogether with the site and then stays fixed right under the header menu while the rest of the site is still scrolling up (see minute 01:10 - 01:15). The element is released later when scrolling down again. Now here is my question: How can this be done? Is it part of the parallax function or is there a different trick for it?
Best regards,
bartl

Thank you Vikas!
Now here is another question, perhaps you know about that as well: to create a site with smooth scrolling which looks like a single site - do I indeed have to make a very long single site, or can I indicate somewhere that all my pages from the site plan have to be put one below the other automatically?
Cheers,

Heh, not new but was a bit hopeful the the forum
environment had changed in the last yearMaybe if less people came and posted open-ended vague questions that they should have started looking with Google for information about so they could ask more specific questions.....
I mean I don't know. It was a dream I had once. Everyone was very nice here. People used google. Nobody pleaded for "teh codes". People used PreparedStatement. People stopped crossposting. Lazy students stopped lying.
It was amazing.

Great tutorial. When I build a timelapse I start by importing the image sequence and then make the proper frame size on export. Is there a benefit to creating a project at the proper frame size and rate first?

• When I start Firefox the Firefox "what's new" page pops up -- even after I answered the question and viewed the video

Whenever I start Firefox I get my homepage and the Mozilla "what's new" page in tabs. It is annoying.

Hi jhmalik,
You should look at this article about that specific issue and the article Preferences not saved. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:
# Type about:config in the address bar
# Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
# In the Filter input field type startup
# Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
# Delete the text string and click OK
# Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
Hopefully this helps!

• What's new in version 7?

Version 7 is less an overhaul of version 4 than it is a refinement of it. The interface itself is virtually unchanged, although its task-directed system of tabs and buttons is even more intuitive. Themes, title templates and DVD and BluRay templates also look better than ever.
(By the way, just as an FYI, there were no versions 5 or 6 of Premiere Elements. It's just that Premiere Elements is being increasingly bundled with Photoshop Elements, which was leading it by a few versions. Rather than have different versions of each in the bundle, Adobe chose simply to market them as an "Elements suite", version 7.)
Several new features are worth noting:
The ability download and edit video from AVCHD camcorders
A more full-featured Organizer, featuring tools, including SmartDetect, for adding tags and other metadata to media files
InstantMovie tool for interfacing with Movie Themes
The Timeline and Sceneline have been slightly redesigned to include easier access to some of the programs power tools for mixing audio, detecting beats in music and controlling playback speed of clips
Integrated SmartSound Quicktracks, for creating custom music tracks based on the criteria (length, style, etc.) you provide
Videomerge, a new tool that makes applying chroma key effects virtually automatic
Live links to Photoshop.com, a site for displaying your photos and video as well as for accessing additional effects, templates and transitions for Premiere Elements
Live links to the Inspiration Browser, a site which offers free tips and tutorials for more effectively using the program
For a more detailed discussion of these new features as well as illustrations of the new interface, see my article for http://www.muvipix.com, "What's New in Premiere Elements 7":
http://muvipix.com/learning/learning_pdf.php?preview=WhatsNewIn7

I would like to read your article, but it requires downloading and installing a 41MB file, Adobe Acrobat Reader? I use Foxit, and that is the first time I haven't been able to view anything requiring Adobe Reader or it's plug in for Mozilla. Any ideas?
Thanks
Tim
