Photoshop CC won't open or create files in Windows 8.1 Pro
When I open up Photoshop CC 2014, the program won't open or create files... it just sits there. No error message of any sort. This happens when opening from within the program and from opening through windows. I installed CC as soon as I installed Windows on this computer.

Photoshop CS3 Can't Open or Create Files
Since today I'm having problems opening or creating files. When I try to, nothing happens.
I tried resetting the preferenced file, but that didn't work.
I don't have a network printer, so that can't be it either.
Any help?I assume you tried this, but have you rebooted the computer?
Has the screen resolution been set to a very small value? It needs to have at least 768 pixels vertically in order to show the Save dialog, for example.
Is it possible the boy facilitated the download and installation of other software on the computer?

Photoshop CS6 does not open or create files
I am using Adobe Cloud. And have downloaded Photoshop CS6. Using it locally.
It was working fine. For weeks. The application still loads without error. But if I open a file nothing happens. No error message. But no file appears. And if I try to create a new file the same thing. No error message. But no new canvas to work with. In both cases nothing appears in the layers panel.
The Help menu gives me the option of deactivating. So I am assuming it is not an activation issue.
Fireworks works fine. Illustrator works fine. Only Photoshop has this problem.
I am running Windows 8. 64bit. 12gb. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 2gb. Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64. No optional 3rd party plugins.Update 03/2/2013
I had enough I uninstalled Creative Cloud and secure wiped the Intel 520 SSD and the wiped the RevoDrive 3 X2. Installed windows 8 clean install and re-downloaded and installed all the Creative Cloud Apps.
1. After the install was completed clicking on Photoshop CS6* causes nothing to happen. No tasks open, nothing in task manager showing photoshop opening. It's like the request just goes away.
2. Figured maybe I need the updates, opened bridge clicked on help - updates.
3. All products had updates and updated them all.
4. All updates successful except for Photoshop and DynamicLinkmanager.
Photoshop Update Failed
Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.1
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7
So then I search the forums and find the option to manually download the CS6 update from Adobe.com. I did that and still nothing.
So in Windows 7 I could open Photoshop once per reboot and work. Now in Windows 8 I can't even get it to open.
There has to be an incompatibility with either:
1. Nvidia GTX680 4GB cards
2. Nvidia WHQL Latest Drivers
I draw that conclusion because PS CS6 has worked just fine until Nvidia Updates were installed. I know in 3D Mark III the card only reports as a 2GB and they claim it's purely cosmetic reporting. It also works fine on my Quadro 5000 card in another box.
Unable to open Photoshop CS6 in Windows 8 Pro
Unable to open using program Compatibility Troubleshooter Mode: Windows 7
Unable to open images in Adobe Camera Raw or Photoshop from within Bridge. No Errors it's like the request simply disappeared.

Photoshop CS5 won't open my RAW files???
Hi there.
I recently bought a Canon EOS 70 D for university and am taking new photos for school with my RAW capabilities. Every time I try to open them in Photoshop I get the error message "adobe photoshop could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw"
I updated photoshop and camera raw and I did check that my camera is on the list of supported cameras. I don't understand what else to do.Support for that camera was added in Camera Raw 8.2: Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
However, CS5 cannot be updated beyond 6.7: Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
Why doesn’t my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera? -
Photoshop CS5 won't open .kmz files
Photoshop CS5 won't open .kmz files. I did a fresh install of Google Earth, opened it, saved a place, and saved a .kmz file. It reopens fine in Google Earth.
When I try to open it in Photoshop, this message pops up:
File Format Error
This file is from a previous version of Google Earth or it is not a Google Earth file
I get this message regardless of the following:
- ps is closed and i right click the kmz and choose ps (rather than google earth) to open it
- ps is open and i double click the kmz
- ps is open and i choose file/open and select the kmz
- ps is open and i have created and saved a new psd file, then choose 3D/New Layer from 3D File/ and select the kmz
I have tried the usual remedies, change rwx permissions, repair permissions, delete prefs. No luck.
Any thoughts? Software versions are below.
Thanks.
- Photoshop CS5 Extended 12.0.4 x64 (doesn't work in x32 either)
- Google Earth 6.0.3.2197
- OS 10.6.8I was trying to see (since Photoshop Extended touts the ability to open kmz files) if I could open a 3D Google Earth file and edit it in Photoshop. A file like this for instance http://ecotope.org/anthromes/maps/. After more research I've learned that kmz is nothing more that a container format - you can change the extension to zip and see what's in it.
I ran across this tidbit in the Photoshop CS3 Extended forum:
Photoshop CS3 Extended supports the ability to import .kmz files created from Google Earth 4 or exported from Sketch-up in the Google Earth 4 format. Photoshop CS3 Extended cannot open Google Earth files. If you have a Google Earth file, you can convert it to a Google Earth 4 format with the free version of Sketch-up.
So, theoretically if I could get a kmz into Google Earth 4 format, I could open it in Photoshop. But I haven't had any success importing a kmz or kml into SketchUp. Even just making a native sketchup file and trying to import that in psd gives a ram error.
Probably I'm wishing for the moon. -

Photoshop CS4 won't open RAW files
Photoshop CS4 will not open RAW (.CR2) files. I have tried what is listed on Adobe's website (checking versions, uninstalling, reinstalling). Nothing has worked. It still gives me the error message: "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."
I am using CS4 on a 10.6.6 Mac OS with a Canon Rebel XS. I currently have Camera Raw 5.7 installed.
Does anyone have any answers ?
Thank you,
TeresaThe CAT.CR2 file that was posted is from a 1000D that does not have sRAW capabilities. Comparing the ExifTool data and the camera specifications, there should have been a small-sized preview JPG image and a large-sized RAW image in the file, but the file was truncated after the top-left quadrant of RAW data was written:

Latest version of Pages won't open documents created in previous version.
Pages won't open documents created before update.
I got the same issue, here is what it says now: "My document" can’t be opened."
iOS Mavericks 10.9.2
Pages 5.1
What I did to get this issue:
- My file was created a month ago in Pages 5.1
- Today, I opened the file normally
- I clicked "duplicate" in order to make a back up from the current version
- The loading wheel kept running for a few minutes...Maybe my cache memory too busy?
- so, I "forced to quit" Pages
- I try to open my doc again in Pages 5.1, now it's a failure!!
- Then i tried to open on another Macbook with Pages 5.1 = Failure
- I updated Mavericks latest updates = Failure to open my doc
- Try to open in pages 4.3 = It says: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document..."
I need a fix asap, it's terribly important to get my document back -

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New à Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
C: à Program Files à Adobe à Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the blue icon)
Select that file and click Next.
Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen. -
Is there a way to restore photos from Drop box to my desktop iPhoto in a large batch instead of one at a time? I tried and a zip file was downloaded but won't open. Says file format not recognized. I see how to do it one at a time with the "download" button in Dropbox but that's so cumbersome for lots of photos.
Have you tried these avenues?

Adober Reader suddenly won't open any PDF files (Mac)
I had an old version, I downloaded the latest one, upgraded to the newest, even tried taking that one out and downloading an older version. It doesn't matter which version I seem to have, it won't open any pdf files from the web.
I use a Mac, and Safari. It used to always load PDF files fine, one random place said I had to update it so I did and since then, lately it'd crash and close all Safari windows when loading a PDF or trying to copy something from a PDF. The smart Mac message I have says it could be related to an Adobe Plug in. However, now it won't even load PDF files at all, it always goes to a white page. Nothing happens.
What do I do?? I can't even save the PDF's as individual files and view then in Preview as an alternative option. It's a link online and normally would work. What happened??
HELP!
I have a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8
I've always used Safari, it's Version 5.0.5 (5533.21.1 if that means anything).
Acrobat Reader, currently an old version 9.4.0 download. BUT, I had also the 10.0.1 version which also doesn't work. When I had that 10.0.1 version and checked for updates, there was an update (.3 I think?) and I did that and that also doesn't work!
Why did it suddenly stop working?
What can I do to fix it ASAP?
Only with 9.4.0 version I can go to Help and "Repair Adobe Reader Installation" - I click that and the only box I can select is "Adobe PDFViewer Safari Plugin - View, fill-in and collaborate on Adobe PDFs within Safari" - I click continue and it tells me there's "No missing components detected. Repairs are not needed." The only option is to click "OK".
With any newer version of Adobe Reader, under Help there is no option to "Repair Adobe Reader Installation". So... I can't even try that with a new version.
I am at a loss for solutions. Hope someone here can help! Thanks! There are several things you can do. My first step would be to repair permissions. If that doesn't work log on as a different user. If all works properly then you have a corrupt preference file (most likely) or a corrupt user font installed in your user Library (less likely). If that doesn't work download Applejack. Have it repair the disk, remove all system caches and user caches. Then have it check all system and user preference files. Remove any preference files that are corrupt. Reboot and see if your system is working properly.

Unable to open newly created files using a specific font.
Hello everyone!
All of a sudden, I am not able to open newly created files in Acrobat Pro 9.0 that use a specific font. It seems to be localized to files that are created in Microsoft Words, as I tried to create a document in Pages and was able to open that PDF (using the same font) in Acrobat. If you have recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6.7, then have a look here:http://forums.adobe.com/message/3593533#3593533, where Steve Werner had the solution.
