iTunes u closes as soon as I open it. What should I do?

I would start with this FAQ Entry first, if you have not done so yet: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0
It starts with a checklist for getting PrE set up properly, then moves into tuning up one's system and OS (you have done a lot of that already), and then goes into troubleshooting tips. Note: those tips rather work up quickly in "degree of difficulty," and DO become quite technical, but things like the "Finding Clues" link will give some tools, that might prove useful, like the use of Windows' Event Viewer to track down issues.
One of the first things to look at would be your video driver. I would go to the video card's/chip's mfgr's. Web site, and check for a later driver. Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you if you have the latest driver. If there is not a newer video driver, or it will not install properly on your system, be sure to check with the HP Web site, as HP, Dell, Lenovo, and some other mfgrs. will re-package video drivers to suit their specific setup.
One troubleshooting technique, that might prove useful (however, those deleted programs bother me a bit here), would be to create a System Restore Point for now (see Windows Help for doing this with your particular OS version). Then, boot to Safe Mode, and choose an older System Restore Point, from when things did work. This might take some trial-and-error, to get back far enough. Test. At the worst, you will only have lost a few minutes, as you have your new System Restore Point for now, to fall back on.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere CC always closes as soon as it opens.

Premiere CC always closes as soon as it opens. If I exit or close the welcome window the program shuts down. When I restart the program again the welcome window still appears. I changed to 'do not display in preferences and still shows on open.  Any ideas? This happens every time. If I chose start new project program opens.

Please sign out from Premiere and sign in again. If that doesn't fix the problem, try this:
Sign out from the Creative Cloud app and Quit it (Quit option will be available after a few seconds).
Now move the following folders to desktop:
    1) SLCache
    Windows: OS Drive\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    Mac: Library/Application Support/Adobe
    2) SLStore
    Windows: OS drive\ProgramData\Adobe
    Mac: Library/Application Support/Adobe
    3) OOBE
    Windows: OS Drive\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe
    Mac: /User/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Now launch Premiere Pro and sign in with your Adobe ID.
NOTE: Make sure your Anti Virus/Firewall is not blocking any Adobe activation servers. Alternately, you can also check your 'hosts' file for any changes.
Please report back if this doesn't work as well.
    Thanks,

  • An upgrade for my IPod 3rd gen  and now all my APPS close as soon as they open, except for the first page and the bottom line.

I just downloaded the latest upgrade for my 3rd gen IPod and now most of the Apps close as soon as they open. Only the first page of Apps and the bottom line will operate. Does anyone know of a solution. I checked with common problems and I don't have other Apps open.

If the ipod was completely drained of power, you have to leave the ipod connected to a power source (Like your PC) for up to an hour before it will have enough power to power up and be seen by windows and iTunes.

    Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

  • Ical closes as soon as i open it

I just got a new macbook pro today and i synced it with my gmail calendars and now as soon as i open the ical app it crashes.

"upgrading" to 10.4.11 on my home iMac ended up breaking Safari (so 3.0 crashed every couple pages). Someone suggested just "upgrading" to Leopard to fix the problem. Good news, Safari is much more stable (still a few crashes tho) on the home iMac.
However, for some reason, just having that machine upgraded to iCal 3 keeps iCal 2.0.5 from staying open on my office Mac. I've turned off publish/subscribe and logged out of .Mac, but it still won't stay open (running 10.4.11).
Considering moving the work machine to Leopard, too, but wondering what else will stop working, like something critical to actually getting work done.
    HELP! Apple! Fix iCal!

  • Photoshop CC closes as soon as it opens

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop CC, but every time I try to execute the app it simply closes straight back down. No error messages and I don't know where to find any logs
    I've tried reinstalling the app
I've tried using the Adobe CC cleaner and reinstalling, but no success.
    Any ideas?

    Greetings
Yes, I see the splash screen
No I don't see any errors during install
I have tried disabling MSE and this made no difference
I tried running as an administrator again without success
The only failures I can see in the log are to do with Proxy errors...:

  • Photoshop CS3 Closes as soon as it opens...

    Hi all,
    I have PS CS3.
Its been working fine for as long as I can remember. However the last time I used it I tried (for the first time) browsing using the Adobe dialog, instead of OS one, and also using Browse... to view files. The browse dialog never appeared, but I thought nothing of it at the time.
Since then whenever I try to open PS it flashes up for a second, the seems to close itself, before the splash screen even appears.
Anything know whats causing this? Ive uninstalled my flash 9 player, which was recently upgraded, thinking it might have been the cause.
Any and all help is appreciated,
    Thanks,
    John

  • My preferences close as soon as they open.

My preferences opens then closes almost as soon as the window is open. It then wants to report the closure. Ive checked the communities and google but not found an answer yet.

Start from your recovery system. OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion includes a built in set of utilities in the Recovery System. Restart your Mac and hold down the Command key and the R key (Command-R), and keep holding them until the Apple icon appears, indicating that your Mac is starting up. After the Recovery System is finished starting up, you should see a desktop with a OS X menu bar and a "Mac OS X Utilities" application window. Note: If you see a login window or your own desktop and icons, it is possible that you didn't hold Command-R early enough. Restart and try again.
When your computer finishes starting up, choose Disk Utility from the Utilities window.
Click the First Aid tab. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    Select your OS X volume.
Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.

  • Finder window closes as soon as it opens

I have some recovered data that has been giving me problems.  After copying the folder back to a rebuilt MBP, the finder window closes immediately upon opening that folder.  Any ideas on what exactly is corrupt or forcing this window to close?
    MBP 17, 10.8.2

I guess if this were happening to me, I would suspect that one or more files in that folder is sufficiently corrupted to kill the Finder.   I would create a new folder and, using Terminal and its mv command, move files one by one into the new folder, testing to see if the original folder can be opened after each step.  Others may have better plans....

  • My Photoshop crashes as soon as I open it. Help?

This started happening after I refreshed my PC and reinstalled Photoshop via the cloud. I have tried checking my graphics card (it says there are no issues), updating/restarting my PC, and uninstalling/reinstalling Photoshop. I checked my other cloud apps (Illustrator and InDesign) and there don't appear to be any issues. I am using Windows 8.
Any advice anyone has would be super awesome!

Thank you so much for looking into this!
    The crash report says:

I did some digging on the internet and someone with a similar problem got advised to install windows 8.1 and then update their graphics driver.
I tried doing this but it didn't really work. I installed windows 8.1 on it. I then tried to update the graphics drivers after doing this. I have an ASUS with an Intel HD 4000 Graphics Processor. I went to the Intel website to download the latest driver, and hit the button that told me to check for updates. It linked me to install this one: Intel® Download Center but when I tried to install it it wouldn't let me, and gave me the error message "the installation package is not supported by the processor type." When I ran the troubleshooter that came with the crash it didn't resolve the issue, and gave me the error message "this operating system is not compatible" and "incompatible program."
I tried opening Photoshop again and it has not crashed yet. I'm still wary, though, over not being able to update the drivers. Do you (or anyone out there) have any ideas what might be happening with that?? And thanks again!

  • Program closes as soon as it opens.

I tried to open Garageband today (I haven't used it in about a month) and it took an extremely long time to open. As soon as it did open, it closed before I could do anything. All I get is the "Program quit unexpectedly" message. Anybody know what could be wrong? Thanks in advance!

First thing to try: locate the file fopr the project you were last working on and move it out of the folder it's in. Now see whether GB will open. If not, trash (or at least move) the preferences:
    (user)>Library>Preferences>com.apple.garagedband.cs
    and
    (user)>Library>Preferences>com.apple.garagedband.plist
If that cures it, you will need to re-enter your preferences, including selecting your input and output.
