Photoshop Crashes and Settings Reset
Occasionally Photoshop will crash or I have to force close Photoshop. When this happens the settings within Photoshop reset back to the default settings. This is a pain as I must then go back and reset everything again. This has been happening since CS5 and also happens in CS6. Are there any ways to prevent this?
Photoshop saves its preferences ONLY when it quits (exits) in an orderly way, never when it crashes.
Had you actually set your preferences and then allow Photoshop to quit/exit in an expected way? Or has it been crashing before you intentionally quit it? If the latter, then your modified preferences had never been saved, therefore when you relaunch Photoshop it uses the default preferences, because those are the only settings that have been saved.
Obviously, you need to investigate why Photoshop is crashing in the first place.
CS6β has been pretty stable for me, but I haven't claimed my complimentary final version, which I have no reason to expect it will be any less stable than the beta.
Next time you get your preferences the way yo like them, be sure to quit Photoshop right away, so the prefs are saved. Something I like to do is to record an action as I go about modifying all my preference settings, so next time I need to re-set them I can just run the action with one mouse click.

What means "crashed", and "won't let me"?
Anyway, download it from http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html
Usually I would recommend to download the direct downloads from http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl, but it seems the site is currently down. -
My IPOD Classic is not synching to my itunes library so the songs in the library are not placed into my IPOD. This happened subsequent to my laptop crash and it was restored. I downloaded Itunes and was able to transfer songs and I also imported music from cds into library. However, when I click on SYNCH nothing happens and the songs in itunes library are not imported into my ipod.

Does anyone know why photoshop would crash and a default project pop up,with a list of flash players.in Adobe Device Central? I also found files I couldn't open ;what format is this: .liloX6UO0q I can't view it. I think it has something to do with my Canon printer, which is a pain in general.THNX!
I did some googling and found alot of topics from you on this issue, to me it simply seems like on of the connectors is broken or loose.

Photoshop crash and 10.4.6
So I too am having the photoshop crashing problem since updating to 10.4.6. Whenever working on a file and saving it the program just crashes. It seems like the easiest fix I can find is to re-install and then upgrade only to 10.4.5. Problem is that my scanner does not work in 10.4.5 but it does in 10.4.6.
Of the fixes I have tried:
1. replace these files from 10.4.5 system
/System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare
/System/Library/Frameworks/AppleShareClientCore.framework
/System/Library/Frameworks/AppleshareClient.framework
2. in apple script:
tell application "Finder"
mount volume "diskname" on server "address.to.server"
end tell
into the Script Editor, Compile and SaveAs to your HD/Library/Scripts.
3. put tilde (~) in front of the twain file in photoshop. I have not been able to get any of these to work.
Any clues or tipes on this? It's pretty infuriating.I am very familiar with this issue.
(There are a few choices at hand, but going back to 10.4.5 will only prolong your issue to have to deal with it another time).
Update your AFP protocol.
*Roll back the AFP to 10.4.5
*Use the PhotoShop "DisableGetInfoPlugin".
(*I have last 2 if you need them)
Here's the real truth:
While these solutions may help for most files, it won't be a fix for every file you have. The reason is file specific.
You should be able to save the file to the desktop and copy it to the network. From there the file should be okay as long as when it was saved, it was saved on the 10.4.6 OS, using the newer AFP spec.
Even when PhotoShop crashes, the data in the file is in most cases saved. The issue is due to the character field length in the commenting field for the file. The newer AFP spec uses a smaller field than the older one did, causing the application to puke when too many characters are encountered in a file.
You see why not every file will be affected this way, only the ones with too many comments saved in the commenting field (using the older AFP spec). -
Hey gusy,
I've reseted All my Content and Settings after my Icloud backup. I wanted to download all my songs back on my phone. I could download most of them, but in some of them it says:This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this device with a different Apple ID for 63 days." Even though I bought the songs!Do you have more than one Apple ID? Do you have iTunes match? https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204074

CS6 photoshop crashing and dissapearing files.
My photoshop has been crashing, and that is bad, but now it is actually erasing files, and saving files in formats that are not finished and thereby not able to open. Does anyone know a solution or have any experience with similiar issues?
Without system information and otehr details nobody can even guess.

Photoshop workspace and setting reset after CC update
Hi,
I downloaded updates this morning via Adobe CC desktop app, now all of my workspace settings, preferences, extensions, brushes, actions, patterns etc have been reset to factory by the look of it.
I tried going to Photoshop > (my username) > Download Settings, it comes up with a progress bar saying 'Connecting to Creative Cloud' but then doesn't do anything. Anyone got any ideas???Yes, it sounds like something related to the OS may have been damaged by the update. This is also a frequent type of issue we see on the forums. In virtually all such cases, it can attributed to a drive that already had damaged files and/or file table data. Replacing/updating as many items as get changed in an update (especially a 1.5 GB update) only makes the damage worse. Then the user "suddenly" has issues they weren't experiencing before.
First and foremost, if you don't have a complete, restorable backup of your drive, make one. You don't want things to get worse as you try and resolve the issue, or lose important data you have no backup for.
Boot to a separate drive (like the Recovery partition) and use Disk Utility to do a Repair Disk on the main drive. If it finds any errors, repeat until it reports no errors.
Download either the 10.10.3 Combo updater, or the full Yosemite installer (I'd go with the full installer). Reinstall OS X and test. -
Dear Adobe,
I have been using a lot your products professionally for several years now. Overall great products. However - with the release of CS6 photoshop have seemed to become enormously unstable and keeps crashing. And more and more bugs seem to crawl in!!! The reason I react now is because enough is enough... I have a major production, in this case of packs (clothes) and I use liquify a lot. Whenever I click okay it does this:
It puts a bar (in this case a white one) across the picture. The colour varies... It is really anoying especially when having to retouch 200 or 300 packs and have to do it all over some times several times before the bar is not on top of the product.
The puppet warp tool is another story - whenever trying to place a pin, it cuts away sharp corners.
I the tried upgrading to CC - but there you have been so kind to remove the photoshop batch function - in bridge that is, so you can't run actions through bridge anymore!!!
Please fix theese issues or justify why or tell me how to make photoshop not do this.
I run Currently run Adobe CS6 on a Macbook pro, OSX 10.6.8
Sincerely
Jørgen Asmussen
/Professional PhotographerJørgen,
First a clarification. You are not addressing Adobe here. These are user-to-user forums, not a channel to communicate with Adobe.
We are all users just like you. Some Adobe staff do contribute sporadically on their own time and dime, as volunteers; but Adobe does not officially monitor these forums.
So, don't expect an official response from Adobe.
That being said, the "bar" problem you mention could well be an issue with the video card in your Mac Book laptop. I cannot replicate your problem on a Mac Pro desktop tower, running Photoshop 13.0.5 ("CS6") under Lion 10.7.5.
Intel Xeon Mac_Pro1,1 2.66 GHz Quad; 16 GB RAM; mutant/flashed, factory-overclocked ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1 GB of VRAM; Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
Perhaps if you tell us what specific steps you take in Liquify, some other user who is running Photoshop under Snow Leopard 10.6.8 can tell us if he/she can reproduce the problem. As I said, I'm not seeing this in on my system.
Of course, please do make sure your copy of Photoshop is fully updated to version 13.0.5, which is the current version for the Mac. -
Instruments changed and settings reset upon opening a project
Need some help!
I opened a project earlier today to discover that some of the instruments have changed and most of the mixer settings have reset. There's no reason as to why this happened that I can think of, and it's not an old project, I'd only started it last night and had worked on it this morning. I'm not sure what has happened but is there anyway I can get it back to the way it was? There's no way I can adjust it all back to the way it was manually as I'd designed a lot of synth.
I'm going to have a guess that my M-Audio Oxygen 61 has something to do with it as occasionally it changes some of the faders on it's own and I have to keep switching it off and on again when it stops responding. I've got the latest drivers installed from the m-audio site.
I'm running Logic Studio 9 on a Macbook core 2 duo 2.4Ghz, 4Gb mem, 10.5.8
Thanks
JonThanks!!
