Photoshop crashes on startup Windows 7 64 bit
Every time I start PS it crashes a couple of seconds later. I've tried re-installing my video card drivers, re-installing a previous driver version. I've signed out and back into Creative Cloud. I've even re-installed photoshop twice. Still no avail.
Please help.
Perhaps the best thing would be if you would start your Event Viewer, navigate to the Windows Logs > Application Log section, look for one or more of the events corresponding to the Photoshop crash, and post the details.
Specifically, look for the Faulting Module Path (or similar) indication. That might help narrow down what's going wrong.
I know that people try things in desperation, but I'd like to mention here: Never do a "registry cleanup". It's not something that needs doing, and quite possibly you're setting yourself up for failures of other things. The Windows registry do NOT need to be cleaned, no matter how many cleaner application authors say so. The programmers of such applications simply cannot know what, on your particular system, can be safely deleted. Just say no!

Labview 2010 crash at startup windows 7
Hi,
Labview crashes on startup. I get this message: "Labview 10.0 Development System has stopped working." I don't get any further than this.
I have 95 computers running Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise. To install Labview on these I use the automated installer with these options: "/q /acceptlicenses yes /r:n /applyspecfile k:\zfdmsi\Labview2010\yellow1\".
This was working on Windows XP. I have tried to install Labview manually on one of the windows 7 computers and it works fine.. But I cant do that on 95 computers...
Any ideas why it's crashing?
Thanks in advance.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Yes, m: is a network drive. We have a local policy on all workstations redirecting My Documents to the M: drive.
I got the issue resolved by installing Labview 2010 SP1 -
Photoshop crashing on startup after update
Hello. I just updated my photoshop cc and now it will not open...again. This happened last time I updated also. 4 days ago I applied this fix ( Re: Photoshop CC crashes after startup due to application error in PlugPlugOwl.dll? ) and it worked. I saw a new update so, silly me, I updated again. This time the above mentioned fix does not work. By the way, my drivers are up to date.
Thank you in advance for your help.I have been having a similar problem since the 2014.2.0 update. Every time I quit PS, and relaunch, I get a "Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error.". It won't load at all. I can delete the preferences file by holding in CMD+OPT+SHIFT and clicking the app. It will then load. I download my preferences from the cloud and can work fine until the next restart when it won't load again. I was hoping today's 2014.2.1 update would fix it, but it did not. I still have the same trouble.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled PS, rebooted the computer, tried restarting PS without downloading any synced preference files and it still will not load unless I delete the existing preferences every single time. So frustrating!

Itunes crashing on startup - Windows 8.1
Hi since upgrading to Windows 8.1 I've had nothing but problems with itunes. Since downloading the latest Microsoft release for 8.1 my Itunes constantly crashes on startup. I've tried removing and reinstalling itunes, still didnt work. I then tried running itunes in various compatibility modes eg windows 7 etc, still not working. To be honest I feel this is a poor show that two major worldwide programs fail to work together on Windows 8.1. Any help in getting itunes to work would be gratefully received. Thanks J
Have you gotten any help with this issue anywhere else?

Skype 7.6 crashes on startup Windows 8.1
Hello, I've been having this problem for over a week, have searched these forums and have tried multiple solutions that have been posted on different threads regarding skype crashing on startup, but to no avail. When I start up skype, I get the spinning wheel and then a message that says "Skype has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, etc." I have tried reinstalling skype, installing various versions, and nothing seems to work. I'm running IE11 with default settings and my Adobe Flash is up to date. To expedite this process, I have ran the dxdiag.exe and have attached a .zip of the file. Also, I booted my computer in safe mode and tried running Skype 7.6, and got this specific error message. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kevin
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Firefox 4.0.1 crashes on startup (windows xp)
Since I upgraded to the new firefox (4.0.1) it crashes on startup.
(By crash, i mean the mozilla crash reporter appears and goes no further)
I am running windows xp.
Here is what i have tried so far:
- uninstalled & reinstalled firefox
- restart in safe mode (causes crash reporter to appear too)
- uninstalled google desktopOnly I upgraded to firefox 4 while it was in beta and never had any problems like this. It took the final version to have problems. I truly miss my Firefox 4.
it crashes on start up with tabs open. sometimes i can tell it not to open my tabs and it'll run until I open up some tab that causes things to crash. but once it crashes it wont run until i close all the tabs. but on other occassions it just crashes.
thanks -
CS2 Photoshop Crashing During Startup
I just installed epson printer software. Now my CS2 Photoshop is crashing during startup. It gets to Building Twain Menu Items... and crashes. I am on a mac and running 10.4.11. I reinstalled software but it did not help. Adobe will not support CS2 is too old to them I guess. Any help would be appreciated
GYes, the "epson stylus nx420" is a combo device with a scanner plus printer.
You disable the TWAIN plugin like any other Photoshop plugin: by removing it from the plugins directory, or changing the name to put "~" as the first character in the plugin name. -

I already searched on the web and tried these things before i was out of thoughts and wrote this message:
- Remove Photoshop + Illustrator and ran the removal (cleanup) tool from Adobe and reinstalled everything
- Reinstalled my graphics card (nVidia GTX 560 ti)
- Scanned on virus and spyware with Combofix & Malwarebytes
- Reinstalled Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable X64 11.0.61030
- deactivated all windows services and startup programs in MSCONFIG
I also made 2 dump files from task manager
- one from the application tab (Werfault.dmp about 90 Mb large)
- one from out of the service tab (illustrator.dmp about 700Mb large)
If you need them or just one of them just let me know how i send them.
nothing have gave any solution at all. I ran out of ideas and forums with the same error so this is sort of my last help.
Thanks in advanceHello Pureweb,
Please upload the crashdumps on some file sharing website say Dropbox and share the link with us by sending a mail to "[email protected]". We will analyze the dump and will suggest you the workaround appropriately.
In parallel, please check that you do not have any 3rd Party plugins installed in it. Please try to remove them one-by-one and see which one causes the crashes or do reverse i.e. remove all the 3rd party plugins. Or Uninstall Ai and check at following location:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2014
Please verify that nothing is left at above location on uninstalling Ai. Then try a fresh install and see if Ai works.
Also, verify that you have the updated Wacom drivers on your system. This might be an issue with the 3rd party program as well. One of the user who was having a similar issue reported on the Ai forum that one of the 3rd party Stahl's ImageWorx DTG RIP - a program for printing to a Direct To Garment printer was causing the issue. So, you may check if the similar thing is not happening in your case.

InDesign CS4 Crashes at Startup Windows 7
I just moved to a new computer at work (Windows 7) and installed CS4 Design Standard. All programs (PhotoShop, Illustrator and Acrobat) except InDesign will open and work fine. InDesign crashes when the startup panel shows "Starting up Service Registry..."
When I login with my local administrator user profile (no server access) InDesign opens with no errors however anytime I try to open it using my main user profile (also an administrator profile but without access to our server) InDesign crashes at "Starting up Service Registry" and will not open.
I am nearly ready to pull my hair out. Your help is appreciated.I have just learned that Adobe DOES NOT provide support for CS4 without payment! Adobe, you received payment when I bought the software. Now you want more? I could understand if I were on a relic (CS3 or heaven forbid CS2) but 1 version back and no support!? Well, thank you VERY much Adobe.
Working for a small non-profit that cannot afford to upgrade each time a new version comes out we expect support! What does it say about your customer service and your confidence in your software that you don't support the previous version?!?
I try to be an understanding person, but I cannot understand this. -

Indesign CC crashes after startup - Windows 8
Hi everyone,
Have been searching for an answer to this but I haven't seen anyone having this problem on a Windows machine. Hopefully someone here can help me!.
I installed Creative Cloud a couple of days ago and installed Indesign CC for the 30 day trial. The Indesign UI loads, but crashes right after.
Creative Cloud also told me there was an update to Indesign, so I've installed that too and still have no luck.
I'm using Windows 8 64-bit (and attempting to use the 64-bit version of Indesign too), 8GB of RAM, i7-3632QM processor. Shouldn't be anything there to cause any problems. Thanks for the information.
Indesign loads up normally, then the "days remaining of trial" box appears, then right after I get the generic Windows "Adobe Indesign CC has stopped working" error.
I had some of the fonts that were causing other users problems. I removed them but it still made no difference.
I also navigated to the folder where the preferences are meant to be, but it's empty - I'm presuming because I haven't yet been able to fully open the program. -
SSMS 2014 crashes on startup - Windows 8.1
I had it working briefly, and I suspect some Visual Studio Nuget packages may have screwed it up. Both SSMS 2014 and Visual Studio 2013 stopped working at the same time, although I managed to fix VS by uninstalling and reinstalling. The same
has not worked with SQL Server.
On startup of SSMS I get the message "SQL Server Management Studio has stopped working".
The Event Viewer gives the following two errors:

I have also tried to install SQL Server Express but get an complaint about "Validation errors no the page", and the detail is that all the features are installed. Thanks, but I'm not paying $499 for MS to get their software to work out of the box.
You need not pay to get the fix from Microsoft. It would be refunded back to you when case is closed. You need to tell this to engineer that the case is only to get a fix and need to be marked as "non-decrement"
But, if you need any troubleshooting assistance, then it would be a paid support.
