Wow how I so wnat a divorce from Creative Cloud...can anyone help me...I'm in the middle of building a magazine. You know, its really interesting how "out of touch" adobe has become, kind of like Quark back in the day!
Would appreciate anything that would help. Thank you!!

Photoshop CC 2014 - Paintbrush Tool appears on all layers
Can someone please tell me what I did and how to fix it? I inadvertently did something and now every layer of an image whether duplicated, new layer etc contains the paint brush tool and alters the characteristics of the layer.
This will eventually be moved there, but what happened is your layers are set to "no thumbnails".
If there is a blank space below the "Background" layer, right-click and choose small, medium, or large thumbnails from the menu.
Alternatively, go to the Layers Panel Menu > Panel Options... and choose the thumbnail size from the dialog box.

Photoshop Help | Selecting with the lasso tools
This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/selecting-lasso-tools.html
In Photoshop CS5 I was able to use the magnetic lasso, select a section from a photo and drag and drop the selection either in another Pshop or Illustrator doc. Now in Photoshop CS6 when I use the Magnetic Lasso and select an area of a picture, I get a bounding box with a white background that is coming with the selection.I am not getting just what I selected. Do I have something set up wrong, can someone please help with? Thank you....

Photoshop Touch crashes after selecting "Wrap" tool for the second time
As title says, when selecting "wrap" tool for the second time, Photoshop Touch crashes. It doesn't matter which images and even after reboot and clearing all the RAM, it constantly crashes only when selected for the second time. I'm using this on Galaxy Note 2 so it really shouldn't have issues with RAM or Processing power. I'm not quite sure about other tools but it should be looked into and hopefully more stable version will be release soon!
Thank you
Device: SGH-T889 T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2Hi,
We just released an update that should take care of that issue.
thanks,

Photoshop CS5 Crashes on select Type tool
I've been using PS 12.0 for a year without incident. Recently I installed Superstition beta and started experiencing crashes both in 13beta and 12. I can consistently reproduce a crash in CS5, Win7 SP1, x64, by opening an existing PSD and then switching to the Type tool. The crash occurs before I even get to see the type tool. I've replaced the prefs a million times using the CTRL+ALT+SHIFT on launch technique.
I have not change type management (not using any font managers at this time). My nVidia drivers are up-to-date (dual 9800m GTX), my RAM is good.
I'm desperate here. Next step: uninstall and reinstall from Master Collection.Noel Carboni wrote:
Sometimes it boils down to uninstalling those you have added in blocks and using the process of elimination to try to determine which one is faulty.
I've uninstalled every font that Windows will let me uninstall. There are a bunch of "system" and "required" fonts that you simply can't delete. If there's a font fault, it's with one of those and I have no idea how to proceed to uninstall and diagnose or reinstall/clean those fonts. Any suggestions you might have will be greatly appreciated - otherwise this weekend it's a full reformat and reinstall...
Have you remembered to close Photoshop between tests? I wonder if maybe you solved it at some point but neglected to do a full reinitialization and didn't realize it.
Yeah, well since Photoshop crashes each time, that solves that problem!
Thanks for the follow-up.

Photoshop crashes when I use the marquis tool.
Photoshop crashes when I use the marquee tool. As soon as I make a selection it crashes my computer (every time!) by either rendering the screen black or sometimes all white. I have to force shut down and restart. I'm using MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 with Photoshop CS6. I am not in a position to update OS at this time. Is there anything I can do to work around this problem? It's extremely time-consuming and infuriating.
Here's the crash report, if anyone is able to make sense of this, I'd sure appreciate knowing what the problem is.

Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape. Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines). -
Photoshop CC tool options popup appears when selecting a tool
I am using Photoshop CC 2014 on my MacBook Pro (2009 - 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5). I have used Photoshop CC before on a different MacBook Pro (2011) from work, but on my own Mac, the tool bar on the left behaves slightly differently.
When I click on a tool, the tool options popup appears and stays until I click on something else or select an option, before I can even select another tool. Please see the attached screen snip.
I am used to it being that I just click on it once to select a tool, without activating the tool options popup. And if I want to see other options that come with that tool, I click and hold to bring up the popup.
It's kind of annoying and slows me down. I looked everywhere, including preferences, to find a way to turn it off. I have not found it.
Has anyone experienced this? Am I crazy?
Is this a OS Mavericks issue?

Photoshop crashes when selecting File / Automate / Batch
Photoshop users still need a fix for Photoshop crashing whenever they select Batch.
I understand that Adobe staff has chosen to blame scanner drivers for the problem. And, I've read the discussions thru last year (very long and boring when all you want is a fix). But, I'm not settled on several things which do not add-up.
First, I'll review the symptoms for the sake of all interested readers. Photoshop users have reported Photoshop crashing whenever they select File / Automate / Batch from the menu for years. This problem got much worse (widespread) since the release of version 12.0.4. The problem apparently affects only those with Train compatible scanners and who installed Adobe's optional Twain plugin. I never read how anyone came to this conclusion, but scanner drivers are being blamed. The accepted work-around is to disable or remove Adobe's Twain plugin.
Second, I want to point out that Photoshop works normally when using the Twain plugin. I can scan images and they are imported directly into Photoshop without any problems. This was the case before the 12.0.4 update and is still the case now.
Third, I want to pose my most pressing question. What does selecting "Batch..." have to do with scanner drivers? In other words, what possibly could Photoshop be doing with scanner drivers when selecting "Batch..." that it does not do when actually does use the drivers?
Lastly, I'll point out that I am a software developer of over 30 years. So, I understand how it might somehow work out in the details that the source of the problem really is buggy scanner drivers. However, as a programmer with a lot of experience dealing with problems common in device driver API's, I know that good practice is to expect anything. If Photoshop begins a process that calls out to someone else's software API, it should cushion that call with proper exception error handling. All processes should execute with an "if all else fails" contention.>> What does selecting "Batch..." have to do with scanner drivers?
When running the actions for the Batch command, Photoshop updates it's menu/command state to check which commands are enabled or disabled based on the document state being changed by the actions. Part of that update is calling the scanner interface to see what is available or not, and at that point some drivers crash. Since the crash occurs in third party code executed within Photoshop's context - there was not much Photoshop could do to recover (there was exception handling, but it couldn't work across OS and DLL boundaries).
In Photoshop CS6, we spent quite a bit of time figuring out why they were crashing (apparently there was some assumption about the application GUI state), and how we could avoid them crashing in those circumstances - and now CS6 avoids the crashes in the Batch command even with the TWAIN plugin and drivers are loaded. -
Help! Adobe crashing on using 'Track Select Forward' tool?
There seems to be a bug in Adobe Premiere Pro CC v8.1, Caravan.
At least once or twice a day when I go to use the 'Track Select Forward' tool, the system crashes?
I am on OSX Yosemite, with 32 GB memory and a AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB Graphics card.
Please advise, and thank you!You can either use Ctrl Click to add clips to your selection across tracks. Or alternatively if you click with either the Move tool or the Time Selection tool in an blank area on any track the Marquee tool becomes available to draw over any clips on any tracks to select any clip that it touches. Or you can Select All Clips/Tracks and Ctrl click to remove them from the selection.
In your practical example first use the Time selection tool to mark the time that you wish to delete. Then use any of the above methods to select the clips that you wish to affect. Finally use Time Selection in Selected Clips in the Ripple Delete menu to remove the unwanted part. Note the other options in the Ripple Delete menu that may also be useful to you. -
Why does Flash CS5 crash when I try to select a tool?
I am using Flash CS5 on Mac OSX (version 10.6.8). It's the first time I've used Flash but am following a basic tutorial to create a christmas card with a falling snow effect. I've managed to import a picture as a background and add a layer on top which I planned to add the snow onto.
When I try to select any tool from the toolbar, Flash crashes with no explanation. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any ideas how to fix?
Thanks,Is the product up to date (Help->Update)? If so, is reinstalling a possibility?
It doesn't appear to be a new issue but in that post the user suggested creating a new user (to clear system prefs). Can you try that? -

Photoshop crashes on AMD, easily reproducable
Hi,
Latest Photoshop crashes frequently on an AMD R9 290 graphics card. Tested with all drivers from AMD that supports the card (WHQL drivers, + tested Betas just in case but with same results).
First problem is that Photoshop can't use GPU acceleration, but I'm OK with that, I can live without it as long as it doesn't crash.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a new image
Press 'V' to select move tool
Press 'Z' to select zoom tool
Photoshop crashes before the zoom tool is selected
It appears to crash with any tool that is selected after Move.. but I haven't tested all of them.
It seems OK as long as the move-tool is never selected or used, and if I never use the move tool I can work on an image without crashes. Unfortunately it's too important a tool to work without it..
The crash is not new for the latest Photoshop version but was there on at least the last couple of versions.
Attaching a debugger shows a crash in the AMD driver through aif_ogl.dll.
Why it would call there when GPU acceleration is disabled I cannot fathom, but I digress.
I deleted aif_ogl.dll to see if it resolved the problem.
It did not and it now crashes in kernel.dll, on first call after Photoshop.exe.
Switching the primary graphics card to another card with a different driver solves the problem (and also enables GPU acceleration, though whether that is related I cannot say).
Searching the web I find that many people have the exact same problem. This is unfortunate. Perhaps a future AMD driver will magically solve the problem, but Photoshop should at the very least work with GPU acceleration disabled.
The problem has existed for at least a couple of months.
Thanks,
ErikYes naturally. The problem is that Photoshop crashes, I'm fully OK with it not using GPU acceleration. If GPU acceleration is disabled it shouldn't crash.
Especially a crash such as this that is easily reproducible and happens in a very specific circumstance of selecting a particular tool should be easily patched.
This might of course be overridden if Photoshop has some acceleration as a requirement and that this particular driver crashes under correct usage by Photoshop. The way that it crashes however it quite strange and specific enough that I feel it warrants an investigation in Photoshop. (Crashes in another place under the same circumstance if OpenGL support is removed).
I find threads about this exact crashon AMD's forums from the last couple of weeks, but no replies or acknowledgements (which AMD never seems to give on their forums). -
Spinning Ball on selecting any tool
CS6 crashes on selecting any tool. It displays a spinning ball and can only be force quit. It developed this fault spontaneously. Wher should I start searching? I repaired permissions, cleaned up the whole system, uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, nothing helps.
Macpro, Mountain Lion.Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)? -
Photoshop crashes when opening a file (stalling)
Can anyone please help me with this issue? I have searched all available threads, yet none of the solutions have worked when executed. I hope this isn't too much information, but I wanted to provide as much as I could in order to obtain a solution/work around.
I am working on a Mac mini, 1.66 Ghz Intel Core Duo, 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.6.
Each time I open Photoshop, all of the tools appear, but I can only open a file by dragging it from a folder location to the Ps icon. Once the file is open, I can make limited changes using the Menu items at the top of the screen, but no keyboard shortcuts will work & result in a beach ball stall.
Ps will crash if I attempt:
• mouse over the menu items too fast.
• attempt to save my changes. (Save, Save As, etc.)
• Try to open a file with the menu, and/or keyboard shortcuts.
This is as far as I can get and then the beach ball appears and I have to 'force quit'. I have attempted multiple files from .psd to .jpeg, etc.
I accidentally stumbled on to a Windows forum, and attempted some of those fixes, as well:
• turning off printer sharing.
• deleting all content relating to Lexmark 5400 series printer. (which I no longer use.)
• deleting 3rd party software, which was Sony freeware related to a digital voice recorder. (I couldn't even use it because Sony and Windows must have a proprietary agreement.)
In addition I have:
• Reinstalled Ps, and downloaded/installed all available Adobe updates.
• Downloaded/installed all available Mac updates, except for the Lexmark update because I am no longer using the printer.
• I deleted the Lexmark printer from the System Settings, and did another software update search, after which the update mentioned previously no longer appeared. I have restarted multiple times.
I have replaced the Lexmark with an HP Photosmart D110 series print/copier/scan (no fax) model, have a Kodak Easy Share (series 3) printer connected, and an Epson Perfection 1250 scanner. I have made the Kodak my 'default' printer under advice found in the Windows section of a similar discussion on this issue.
The only other USB devices connected are a WD MyBook 320 GB external drive, and the Apple slim line keyboard with a mighty mouse. Occasionally, I will connect an iPod/iPad for music/device updates, and then disconnect them
I have attempted to include the report that is generated each time Ps crashes below, however the forum site keeps timing out. Must be too long. Although I am not 100% certain it is exactly the same each time due to the length of content, and my lack of programming knowledge. If the report is required to diagnose, please let me know and I will attempt to re-post.
As with most others, Ps is a primary system I use and being unemployed I do not have the means to upgrade to CS5, nor to pay Adobe tech support to diagnose. This program is essential in my search for a job.
Any assistance that can be provided is sincerely, and greatly appreciated. We need to see the crash report (or get the email address you used when submitting the crash to Adobe, and which specific version you are using) to figure out the cause.
This is as far as I can get and then the beach ball appears and I have to 'force quit'.
Wait - that's not a crash. That's a hang or freeze (very different beast), and you wouldn't be able to send in a crash report.
Quick questions: Have you installed all the Photoshop updates? Have you tried disabling all third party plugins?
