Photoshop CS 3 Disappears?

I have been running PS CS3 on a Mac under OS10.5.8. I have been using it every day for over a year. This a.m. I click PS in the dock and a question mark appears. The application has disappeared from the Adobe PS folder. Spotlight can't find it. I did not delete it.
Any suggestions?

I have seen she has an alumnium Mac computer which is not an iMac...i am pretty sure it IS a Mac Pro G5. It should be the very first model. I asked by the phone to click in "About this mac" and it says
Mac OS 1.3.9 (or something like it) so I guess is not Tiger, it should be Panther insted

An issue whereby Photoshop .PSD files disappear when saved to a network file share

It has been reported and reproduced by Support, an issue whereby Photoshop .PSD files disappear when they’re saved to a network file share.
Upon initial investigations Support have observed the following behaviour when saving a Photoshop file.
The document is initially saved as a new file on the file share.
The original .PSD file is deleted on the file share.
The newly created file is renamed to the same name as the original file.
An issue often arises when steps 1 and 2 complete however step 3 fails. When a file is reported by users as having disappeared, the new file created in step 1 can be renamed from .00_ to the original *.PSD file name on the server as the *.00_ files are normally hidden by the desktop operating system. This allows people to see and open the file from both PC’s and MAC’s using AFP and SMB protocols.
A related issue often reported by users is that they receive an error message “Could not save as” when trying to save a .PSD file. Troubleshooting the issue confirms that the user is able to save the file if they perform a “Save As” operation in Photoshop.
From the reported problems and observations there is clearly an issue with how Photoshop performs a file save operation further exacerbated by the fact the process doesn’t fail safely.

Sounds like you're hitting one of the known MacOS filesystem bugs - worst when working with SMB volumes.
Apple knows about this, and we are pursuing workarounds to the OS bugs.
Yeah, if you value your files, don't save directly to servers, especially on MacOS.

Photoshop CS4: Cursors disappear and UI acts weird when fullscreen + UI hidden...

Cursors disappear and UI acts weird when in fullscreen mode with UI hidden [ex: using tab key]. However, it can be brought back to normal by toggling the UI back on. Can this be fixed?

When I add certain bookmark folders, they just disappear, including the bookmarks that were in the folder. ie...this happened twice when I created a bookmark folder named Photoshop. It also happened to one I created named Tutorials: Misc.

iTunes doesn't pay attention to the file and folder names, only to the tags. If the files are untagged you can use a third party program like MediaMonkey (Google it, the forum software won't let me post a link today) before you add the tracks to iTunes, or if you can make sure that you add them in such a way that iTunes doesn't rename and move them (turn off the Keep... & Copy... and copy preferences and don't use the Automatically Add to iTunes folder) then I have a script called TagFromFilename at
samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/scripts.asp#TagFromFilename
that may be able to apply the information provided the tracks are in Artist and then Album folders.

My photoshop patterns have disappeared

Can anyone help?
I had created a lot of custom patterns in photoshop on my Mac.
Today, lots of them have completely disappeared. When I go to the paint bucket pattern option there are a few really old ones there but the rest have gone.
Can I retrieve them somehow?
Why would this happen in the first place?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you did not save them as a pattern set on your hard drive, and they were deleted, you might be out of luck...
You could try to use time machine to revert to an earlier version of your preferences, where those patterns still existed.

Photoshop edited jpeg disappears when the Word doc in which it was inserted is converted to a pdf

I do not have a problem with any other type of image I insert into a word file. An unedited photo is able to be seen in the pdf as is a Photoshop saved .tiff version of the image. I have photoshop elements 7, Acrobat 9, and using Windows Vista.

1. Possibly. Sometimes a PDF is bigger, sometimes smaller. Try it, and try different settings.
2. Sending large documents by email is a common problem; the solution is to use one of many services for doing it. They are very easy to use and many are free e.g. WeTransfer

Photoshop CS6 icon dissappered from dock and launchpad after today's update. Also, when I launch the program, I can't use any tool or function! all dimmed.

Photoshop CS6- Image disappearing

I am running a windows Vista 32Bit software. I just decide to finally use my cs6 photoshop and when i try to open an image in photoshop the board remainds blank but the layer panel says there is an image and shows a preview of the image like it normally does in the layer panel. Everything else works fine but the image won't show at all.

You loose a bit, with that setting, so the ultimate would be to do, as suggested in Reply # 1 - update your video card's/chip's driver to the latest version.
What is the make and model of your video card/chip?
What is the version and date of the installed driver?
What does the mfgr's. Web site show for the latest driver, for your model card, and your OS?

Photoshop Elements Organizer disappearing image puzzle

In Organizer, created a couple of folders and added some images to them, one with 3 images and one that started off with seven (but is now down to six, for which see below).
Being new to Elements, I tested Auto Smart Fix, Auto Color and Auto Levels with one of the images, with the result that that image has now disapperaed from its folder, but worse still, I am unable to get it back via File | "Get Photos and Videos" | "From Files and Folder" being told, "Nothing was imported. The file(s) or folder(s) selected to import did not contain any supported file types, or the files are already in this catalogue."
The assertion that the image is not a supported file tile is proven to be wrong, when I change the name of the image by just one letter and am then able to import the image. Now this does not really help, as I can't obviously have images disappear.
My question now is, where did the first image go to, and why am I being told that it is already in this catalogue? Many thanks in advance.

Once you import more images to Organizer only the most recently imported files are shown on the Photo Well. Click on the Show All button to see all the files in the catalog.
Also, when you delete any files from the catalog please ensure that the option for "Also delete selected item(s) from the hard disk" is unchecked otherwise your images will be deleted from your hard disk as well

Since the last reboot, some functions of Photoshop CC just disappeared !!

Since my last reboot 2hrs ago, my Photoshop CC seems to have lost some shortcuts paired with my Wacom Intuos 5 tablet ! I explain, when I use the brush tool, I make CTRL/ALT/left-right to decrease or increase my brush size, it was just working fine since the last reboot, now it's just grapping and moving the whole photoshop window !!! Result : I lose a lot of precious minutes in my workflow...........!!!!!
Did the last update (apparently installed during that reboot) change anything in the graphic card settings or any thing like that ???
Please, I'm lost here !

Ok, so to anyone who eventually got the same issue, MY answer was quite simple, the app "Hyperdock" was turned on after the reboot, and a shortcut, identical as my photoshop one, was taking over everything else ! so turn off the setting that allows you to grab and move the windows to get back the precious function on photoshop with a tablet ! TadaaaaaAAAAAA \o/

Photoshop 7 icon disappeared and replaced by script editor

Photoshop 7.01 on G4 iMac system 10.4.11
After 6 years continual use of this program, it has suddenly done bad. I went to open the application and the PS icon had changed to a generic one which turned out to be scripting editor. I could open via an existing PS file but not from the actual application icon. I had recently installed the latest security update from Apple, but this may a coincident. I've run Disc Doctor and Disc Warrior, ditched the preferences etc. but the problem remained. I then reinstalled from my original disc, and the script editor icon is still there in place of the PS icon, except that it is blank and therefore will not open at all. Any existing Photoshop files I have now open in Preview.
I have searched the knowledge base and have not seen a comparable problem
Has anyone got any ideas?

Norton is NASTY stuff in OS X. Stay away from anything with the Norton name if you're on any version of OS X, especially do NOT let anything with the Norton name (like Norton Anti Virus, File Saver) ever reside on your computer.
NAV (Norton Anti Virus) can lead to permanent file damage. Files damaged by NAV are not recoverable. NAV can also prevent many PostScript files from parsing, even if not damaged permanently.

All photos saved in photoshop elements have disappeared

Help. Cant find any photos previously saved in Photoshop elements 8 (only)!

Check View> Media Types and make sure they are all checked.

Photoshop (CS4) has disappeared off my i-Mac!

It happened a couple of weeks ago. Just got round to re-installing it (from disk), it goes through the steps, ejects disk and says it has been installed on my computer, yet when you search for it, it isn't there! It's happened twice now, can anyone help?

Macintosh’s searches can be close to useless sometimes.
Have you tried using the uninstaller before re-installing?
Apart from that: Stuff simply disappearing from a drive seems like an unlikely or at least rare occurrence – is there any possibility that you or someone else messed around where they should not have an accidentally deleted the application or files/folders related to it?

Photoshop 3D - Mesh disappearing

Hey,
I'm working on a 3D file at the moment with a free 3D robot I sourced from Turbosquid (I created a new head etc for it) and all is fine, renders fine and looks good.
However, now I want to make some adjustments, and also isolate the robot on it's own for a separate file, but as soon as I edit anything on the PSD I lose all sight of the robots body and arms!!
What would be causing this? And how can I stop this from happening?

Here you go, the transform widget is now off the screen... WHen I set the file up, the surrounding bounding box area for the robot fitted within the image area, but now it just goes off the screen and nowhere to be found.
