  • Academic Photoshop CS Extended download languages (Japan)

    Why is Adobe Japan's Academic Photoshop CS Extended only available in the Japanese language? Adobe is an international company with Photoshop available in almost 2 dozen languages.
    There should be a choice of language for Academic versions no matter where one lives.

    I am trying to do the 1000 JPY Photoshop deal. I go to the HK store, click on the 1000 yen a month button, and get a HK reseller for $68HK, with option only for a HK credit card. So what gives? How do I sign up from Japan with a Japanese credit card???

  • Photoshop CC on Sony's Vaoi Fit15A (pen pressure problems)

    This question is very specific. I just downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CC on a new Vaoi Fit15A. It's like a hybrid between a tablet so I can supposedly draw on the screen directly. (So I don't have a pen tablet.) My problem is it doesn't register the pen pressure. I also tried borrowing a wacom bamboo to see if it can feel that, but nope, PS CC still won't recognize the pen pressure even from a pen tab. What should I do? Thanks to anyone who can help!

    I tried attaching a bamboo create to see if it could sense the pen pressure. Alas, it still couldn't. I already installed the drivers but it still wouldn't.
    So um, just letting you know that I did take it to the store where I bought it. They told me that Adobe wasn't keeping up with something something industry-wise. Sorry I'm in Japan and my Japanese isn't that good but basically they told me that I have to wait for Adobe elements 12 (which isn't out yet) before I can hope that my Vaoi recognizes the pen pressure. So they basically told me that Vaoi fit15A, using PS CC, isn't compatible. There's no way I can get pen pressure using that program.
    But is this true? Adobe is late that's why I can't get it to work in Vaoi Fit 15A ? They just didn't tell me this because they couldn't get it to work right? When is this "Adobe elements 12" suppose to come out anyway? If I can't get it to work I'll have to return the Vaoi itself since I need my pen pressure working in PS.

    ...what was happening to his iMac? He was a neighbor of mine in Hawaii, and I helped convince him to buy a Mac so I feel somewhat responsable for his hardware problems. I received this email from Japan recently, tell me does it sound like "Kernal Panic" symtoms?
    Thank for the email response. As far as the iMac goes I have the flat panel version. I got it 3 years ago and I had the guy who sold it to me set it up. A yellow pages guy who I didn't know. I forget his business name right now but he came over and set it all up. Before I had some old used IBM that he transferred the data from to the new iMac. {Migrate to Mac} ???? I think. At the time he installed the 10.2.8 from his homemade version of a CD,not a apple real McCoy. We couldn't get my Epson 2450 Photo scanner to work at the time. That was the main reason that I bought the iMac so that I could do Photoshop kind of things, like archiving, with my thousands of slides. Anyway he left and I couldn't use the scanner. A photographer friend an Apple Whiz Kid installed the Twain drivers from Version tracker and I was scanning without any problems. I shipped the flat panel here to Japan but the voltage is lower. My computer made a different hum than it had in Hawaii. The local Japan tech said "do not even plug it in". Can you believe that? So it was plugged in but humming funny for a couple of months. Then it started acting funny. The symptoms were: after about 15 to 20 minutes after booting up, any text would start to show a yellow blotchy background color(if I was reading email text, or website text, for instance), the lower left corner of my screen,the usually blue desktop part you can see would turn into a almost florescent lighter blue with distinct patterns running vertically and then right after that my mouse curser would would change from a arrow shape to a small square about 3 times bigger than the arrow with visible horizontal bars filling up the square. Next I would loose the ability to click any buttons to close programs of shut off the computer. I would just have to shut down with the power button. After a couple of months of this behavior I asked my Apple guy in Hawaii what to do and he suggested cloning my Lacie back up hard drive that he transferred the data and files to before I left Hawaii. I tried to clone the system but it did not go well and I basically could not boot my computer at that point. I should have tried a clean install in hindsight but it was too late. I called the Japan apple support and told them of my problem and they said that they weren't supposed to help me because it was a U.S.bought product but would email me instructions on how to boot my computer. At this point I just lost it and started yelling at the guy. "How the **** can I receive your email if I can't boot my computer, *******!" Anyway after I calmed down I convinced the guy to tell me tell me what to do next just to boot the computer and he finally told me. I booted it up and he told me to try to install the 10.1.5 Disc that came with the box but it would not allow me to install it I think at this point because my hard drive was screwed up at the moment. After more calls back to the tech it finally got installed as my new operating system. At this point I just wanted to be able to use email and scan documents for work. This worked for a couple of days then the computer would not finish the boot and I couldn't do anything with the computer. sorry gotta go same symptoms...
    Does anybody recognise this problem?

    It's difficult to know when we know nothing about the iMac - model, RAM, hard drive, etc. - but those are not the normal symptoms of a kernel panic. It's clear that it's not one of the new Intel-based Macs, though, so this really isn't the appropriate forum for this question. I'd suggest you get full details about the Mac and then post in the appropriate forum for that iMac model. You'll be more likely to get a quick and accurate answer that way.
    But if he's running a US-standard computer on Japanese AC voltage and Hertz, then unless his system had an international power supply, it's very likely he's damaged the hardware. Impossible to say for sure, though, without knowing the exact iMac model.

  • How can I troubleshoot a Lion MacBook in Japan that I can't "Back to My Mac" to?

    Our family lives in the United States. My wife's parents live in Japan. We gave them a MacBook and have been remoting connecting to it via screen sharing. At first, I was just connecting to it directly via its IP. I was using the deafult host feature on an AirPort Extreme Base Station for this, but the base station would occasionaly crash and would have to be power cycled to get it working again. So last year, I decided to connect to it via "Back to My Mac" so I could just use DHCP and didn't have to use the default host feature. This worked well for a while, but over the past couple of months the performance has been poor and now I can't connect at all -- even though the machine appears in the sidebars of my other Macs.
    FWIW, I'm using Mountain Lion on all my other Macs and their MacBook is running Lion. I've noticed that Back to My Mac creates a VPN connection to your other Macs and I assume that this is what was causing the performance problems I noticed a couple of months ago.
    Also, my wife's parents are elderly and not computer savy at all so it's hard to get them to do things over the phone. If anyone has any insights on troubleshooting "Back to My Mac" screen sharing issues, please let me know. Ports to ping, diagnotics to run, etc.

    No sign of your photoshopped image, so I'm guessing about what you want here.
    Does this resemble what you're looking for?
    Column B contains the initial entries (made from the keyboard). I wasn't expecting to see the trailing zeroes retained in these.
    All cells in columns C and D contain the formula shown above the table, =B, a simple cell reference to the column B cell on the same row as the formula.
    Column C's format is left as the default "Automatic". As can be seen, all trailing zeroes are removed.
    Cells in column D have had their format set as shown in the Inspector pane to the right of the table.
    The value in these cells is still the same as the value in column B, and that is the value that would be used in any calculations referencing these cells. Formatting affects only the display of the cell contents. What is displayed is the value in the cell, rounded to two decimal places.

  • Fujifilm Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

    Hi!
    Today Fujifilm shared "Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®". And they shared only 1 exe file, which i can't open on my Mac=). I try open it on PC, but it can't open without HS-V5 ( i needn't it, because it work only on Windows)
    They write:
    To use "Tethered Capture Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®" you need to purchase "Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 5".
    *For customers who don't have the HS-V5, "FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in" will be able to be purchased at Adobe Exchange site."
    So...i already purchased Adobe CC for photographers. I try find it in Adobe Exchange, but doesn't find it.
    May be somebody know anything?
    Or may be somebody knows about tethering future with fujifilm X-T1 in new Lightroom 6?

    The current situation seems to be this:
    You are licensed to use the plug-in on a Mac or a Windows PC if you have purchased and installed H5-VS software.   Since H5-VS is only a Windows product the download for the plug-in is a Windows EXE because when you run that EXE it'll check for the H5-VS software installation and if it doesn't see it, it'll stop, so to be successful in extracting the Mac plug-in you have to use a Windows PC and have purchased some Windows software.
    You can examine the contents of the LRPLUG.EXE by renaming it to something like LRPLUGIN.EXE.ZIP and opening it with 7ZIP; however, the contents aren't something where you can just extract and run w/o the license check.
    The only way forward seems to be to purchase the H5-VS software and install it on Windows and then download and run the LRPLUG.EXE on that same Windows computer to extract the plug-in installers, and then run those on the appropriate platform.
    However, the H5-VS software doesn't appear to be for sale, anywhere, although the Fuji people do seem to hint they will have a solution at some point in the near future--perhaps it is only available in Japan ATM.

    The bottom line is that while the tethering plug-in is for both a PC and a Mac the licensing dependency is on a Windows-only program so the plug-in installers are contained within a Windows-only program and the missing link is how to acquire the required H5-VS Windows program to satisfy the licensing requirement for the plug-in packaging utility so it'll extract the plug-in installers for each platform.
    From what the pages, say, there is also going to be a version of the plug-in available on Adobe Exchange that won't require having H5-VS already, I guess, but that is not available, yet, either, so lots of announcements, and mostly a lack of follow-through..

    I bought Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.0 at Oct.11'13 by amazon in Japan. But my P/C is Windows Vista. Is there auy way to fix this problem with some PGM?

    I doubt there is anything you can do short of upgrading your system to meet the tech specs of Lightroom 5 at this point in time.  Had this purchase just been made you might stand a chance of being able to get a refund, but since the purchase was made nearly three months ago I have doubts it will be accommodated.  In any case, chances are you will need to discuss this matter with Adobe directly.

    I also began to install the new Lightroom CC (2015) and updated Photoshop 2014 to version 2014 2.2 (64bit) and Bridge.to 6.1.0.116 x64 all from the Creative Cloud Apps. I had things to do and when I came back, Lightroom had installed, with a new icon just called Lightroom and Photoshop and Bridge had failed to complete the download, according to creative Cloud. I tried everything I could think of to get them to finish the download and got a message saying that bridge was corrupt and nothing at all for Photoshop.
    In desperation I restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud and the downloads started again! They eventually installed with no help from me and now work properly. When you open the new Lightroom it prompts you to let it build a new catalogue. No problem other than you now have two versions of Lightroom, one identified as v5.7.1 64-bit, the other just as Lightroom. You then have to rename the icon to CC (2015).
    Basically, some of these updates are a pain with many problems. Looking for information on problems can take forever. Getting help is such a time waster and some of the live help personnel do not seem to be very well trained. The whole Photoshop system seems to have got way too big to be easily handled. It needs to be reorganized. [End of rant]

  • Photoshop suddenly freezing on startup - won't open

    Hi There,
    All of a sudden, photoshop won't open - have tried:
    - Removing all Photoshop user and system prefs
    - Uninstalling from creative cloud and reinstalling
    - Logging in as a new user
    Logging in as a new user works so it's obviously something to do with the main user - how do we go about trouble shooting this issue and getting Photoshop to work with the main user?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    NOTE: If you have control over this forum system:
    Searching for a community doesn't work very well. It finds Photoshop Japan (when searching for Photoshop) or Creative Cloud so have posted this in CC. This system seems to be similar to Apple's forum system as the community search on their site is equally frustrating. Also, if I've already browsed to the Photoshop community before posting, why doesn't it just post into that community instead of making me search for (and not find) the community I'm already in?

    Thanks. We're aware of this.
    Photoshop CS6 doesn't really require the Java VM (we've removed this dependency in CS6) - OS X just has a special bit that thows that alert if Photoshop is being installed. We're working with Apple to correct this prior to official launch.

  • Camera Raw PSE 12では開くが.Photoshop CS6では開けない

    PS Elements12 と Lightroom5、 PS  CS6を インストールしています。
    カメラデータを保存し開くと Elements12で Rawは立ち上がりますが、 CS6では Rawは 立ち上がりません。ファイルは開けませんと、、、でます。
    どうしてなのでしょうか?  
    最近は PS 多く使うので困っています。どうか宜しくお願いします。

    昨日は アップデート 試しましたが つながりませんでした。
    本日 つながりまして アップデートから camera raw のみの アップデートしたところ
    Bridgecs6 の アプリケーションを 閉じてくださいと出てきました。
    そして
    PS も Ai も Id も 使用していないのに 次に進まず アップデートできません。
    どうしたら いいのでしょうか?
    何度もすいませんが よろしくお願い致します。
