Photoshop CS compatible with mac intel ??

Hi all,
I think to change my old MAC Powerbook G4 (laptop) for an Imac intel  core duo 21.5 inches.
But before to change it I have a very important  question about Adobe Photoshop CS
What about my files/project created with Photoshop CS on my old mac ?
I have to buy a new photoshop version for mac intel or can I install my current photoshop version (PPC version of course...)
Thanks  in advance
Regards,
A.
PS : and for illustrator CS (PPC version...) : is it supported by this new mac intel ?

Thanks for your reply,
I already heard about Rosetta but it's not very interesting...
I'm very disappointed by Apple and Macintosh since many years with these new mac/pc machine.......
I don't want to buy new products especially (very expensive !) for a new mac...
Thanks again.
A.

Is Photoshop Elements 10 compatible with Mac OS X v10.8? Thinking of purchasing it but in system requirements it only mentions up to
    Mac OS X v10.7.

No problems have been reported with Mountain Lion but you may wish to download the free trial using the link below and test the software for 30 days. If this is your first purchase you may wish to wait for PSE11 which is usually issued in September.

  • Is adobe photoshop cs5 compatible with MAC OS 10.7.2

I need to update my CS3 version of PhotoShop which has been completely incapacitated by the recent update to Lion. The spinning rainbow of death.  But before I purchase CS5 I need to know that it actually works under Lion?
    Thx for any advice.
    Barb

Appreciate the reference but I've already visted that site. To be honest, I don't trust a single thing Adobe says about its products and product compatibility. So I turn to users.
My CS3 was working fine even when I upgraded to 10.7.2 but that recent little patch Apple released to upgrade thunderbolt and my epson printer for some reason put cs3 out of commision. It launches but when I move the cursor to the menu bar the rainbow swirls until I do a forced quit.
This update is hundreds of dollars for me. It is important I understand how the two products co-exist.
    Thx!

Unfortunately that link is not that clear on your specific question.  My guess is that CS4 is not supported in ML 10.8.x.

Well, probably not what you wanted to hear, but if you come across an older Mac, you should be able to use your old copy.
These are the old system requirements.  You want CS6 or better for today's Intel/OSX Macs.
    • PowerPC® processor
    • Mac OS software version 8.5, 8.6,or 9.0
    • 64 MB of RAM* (with Virtual Memory on)
    • 125 MB of available hard-disk space (after install)
    • Color monitor with 256-color (8-bit) or greater video card
    • 800x600 or greater monitor resolution
    • CD-ROM drive
And thanks for reporting back, at least I know what happened even if it didn't fix things.

The editor will work, pretty much, although you can't easily update the camera raw plug-in. The organizer will not even open.

You can find the installer for older Elements versions here: Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10. Please note that you will need to have already purchased a serial number for the older programs.
FYI, this the the Photoshop forum, Elements questions should be asked here: Photoshop Elements. Not to worry though, a moderator had move this thread to the correct forums for you...

Is Photoshop elements 11 compatible with Mac Mountain Lion?

the older version of Photo Shop is no longer supported.
Don't know which version you mean, but if you mean PSE, then versions 6 and up will work.
You can't migrate any version of PSE, though, from one disk to another. It must be installed freshly on each machine, since adobe doesn't care about the apple developer guidelines and PSE is not a tidy mac app package--the PSE installer strews stuff all over your hard drive, and you can never move it and get all the necessary bits.
What I was talking about is if you had a computer with 10.6 or 10.7 and PSE installed on it and then upgraded to mountain lion. In that case it's essential to go into the user library and delete any existing preference files before running it after installing 10.8.
The instructions to install PSE in mountain lion are to put the disc the drive or to double click the downloaded .dmg file to mount it, and then to run the installer.
