Photoshop CS1 Activation on Windows 8

I have a copy of Photoshop CS1 which I have used for many years. I installed Windows 8 on my machine yesterday, and therefore had to reinstall PS CS. It would not activate, and when I rang up Customer Support, they told me that because they don't officially support Windows 8, they won't give me an activation code. The frustrating part is that under the 30-day grace period, the software currently runs, and is working flawlessly on my Windows 8 machine!!! I am therefore in the position where I am being told that I can't run my legitimately purchased software simply because they won't give me a code to activate it. Clearly I'm more than a little frustrated by this, so I'd appreciate any help people can provide as to how I get this software activated.
Cheers.

What is your history with Photoshop CS?  If you deactivated it on your prior machines upon retiring them, you should have 2 activations left.
I happen to agree with you that Adobe needs to continue to provide activation support for every version they have shipped, however ancient, as long as it can work.  I'm just wondering whether they're implying that Windows 8 is not actually capable of supporting activation of Photoshop CS.
Did they refuse to do anything, or did they try something then you found it still wouldn't activate?

  • Photoshop CS1 activation crack

I have spoken with tech support numerous times regarding this problem, but have never received an actual response. .. The issue is with Photoshop CS1 not having the same ability as every other version of Photoshop to either backup the activation information, or provide the Adobe crack CD to bypass the activation.
I sometimes have to reinstall my entire OS multiple times per month and when doing so must reinstall Photoshop. At this time, the software requires activation. Since those who purchase Photoshop are automatically volunteered to the Adobe anti-piracy program, the user must call Adobe every single time that you want to use the product. This issue has cost me easily over a few thousand dollars in company time already and I am desperate for a solution.
As a reference, CS2 & CS3 have built-in functions to backup the registration information so that you can use the software without spending a day or two on the phone.
Earlier versions of Photoshop such as ver 5.5 do not require enrollment in the anti-piracy program, so Adobe can just send the crack CD that will work with the license number that is received when the product is purchased. The last company I worked with was using 5.5 and required Photoshop to be installed on a laptop without networking abilities and that is how I learned of the crack CD from Adobe.
If anyone can assist in how to either obtain the CS1 activation crack from Adobe, or how to backup the activation information, please provide any/all necessary information on how to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Activating Photoshop CS1?

I've had a Photoshop CS1 disc for quite a while.  Just recently I tried to install it on my new laptop, but it wouldn't let me activate the program, saying the activation server was no longer available.  I looked around on the Adobe website for solutions, but the only one I found was a download of Photoshop CS2 that didn't have to be activated.  I tried downloading this, but the serial number I put in was invalid (I tried it both with and without dashes).  I figure it's because the serial is from CS1, not CS2.
So is there any downloadable version of Photoshop CS1 available, similar to the CS2 one?  Or any other way I can activate this program?  I can't even use it without activation.
I'm running the program on Windows 7, by the way.  The program worked fine when I first installed it, but I could only use it for thirty days before activation was required.  Any help would be appreciated.

you must use the ps2 program and serial posted on adobe, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l

  • Problem With Photoshop CS4 ME On windows 7

    Hello,
I Installed Photoshop CS4 ME On windows 7 but every i open photoshop, it gives me a error with this message:
I have HP DV5 1299ee (NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT) I downloaded the newer version of my VGA Driver and installed it(version 186.81) but it errored again and i go to adobe help center, and i know that i must active GPU and GUI but i don't know how to active them.
please help me to active them.
And I have other problem, when i want to save a edited picture, the default format is .PSD ,how can i change it to .JPG .
    thank you

In regard to you question on changing default to always save in jpeg, if my memory serves me correctly, and it often does not, this question has been asked before and the answer is you can not.
The file you want to save may have info that will be lost as a jpeg so .psd is offered as the default.  If you open a jpeg and then choose save the default will be jpeg.
You can set up an action to save the psd as a jpeg.  Make it a shortcut on one of the F keys.

  • Photoshop CS4 Activation Error

    Hello,
I've been using Adobe products for a while now. However, I'm experiencing a problem with Photoshop CS4 - I have been for a while but I thout it'd eventually go away.
I have 2 computers. I have CS4 installed on both. However, a while back It was installed on a third computer (I own) - it was then completely removed from the computer (AFAIK). I'm now getting a 'enter activation code' window everytime I try to use Photoshop on one of my computers, even though it's only installed on one other. It says that it's installed on 2 others when its not.
Any ideas/takes on what this could be?

    AirSoft Studio wrote:

Sure; you neglected to deactivate the copy that was in that other computer before you "completely removed it" from that third computer.  (And I do hope you used the Adobe Uninstaller rather than dragging stuff to the Trash.)
Now the Adobe mother ship shows it as still activated.
You need to contact Adobe Customer Support by phone.  Only they can straighten it out for you.

  • How To Validate Photoshop's Activation Number?

    Please Help -
I have Adobe Photoshop CS5 loaded on my computer.  The product I own was purchased outright and I have the orinional CD's with the software (it was not a downloaded trial that was later activated).  I have only loaded this software on one of my PC's as my secondary PC would not have the humph to operate Photoshop and its memory an dprocessor needs.  I am running th esoftware (Photoshop CS5) on a windows based machine with Windows 7 Home Edition and my machined maxed out with RAM.
I originally loaded this software about a year ago.  Last month or there abouts Photoshop told me via an error message that I had the software loaed on more than the maximun number of computers and that I'd have to deactivate a computer for the software to run for more than 30 days.  At that, I called Adobe support and they basically added an additional computer for me.  That worked for awhile but then the same message came up again.  This time, I uninstalled the software and re-installed.  This worked for about 50 days - maybe more.  Then, this morning I get the message again (thi swas th e50 or so day mark).  Could not get through to Adobe with long wait times (both in their online chat and via phone).  Decided to not leave a message for a call-back as I am very busy and can not easily stop what I am doing and my computer is not with me.
So, any thoughts on how I might get this fixed?  Anyone else ever have this situation?
    Hopefully someone can help.

Hi Doyle, you posted your help request to the forum for photoshop.com, and online portal site (not a forum for Photoshop CS).  I'll move this for you.

  • Activacion photoshop cs1

    Hola.

  • Cannot get a newly installed Photoshop CS1 application to start up.

I have a PowerMac G5 desktop computer that has been freshly installed with Mac OS X 10.5.4.  Using Adobe Creative Suite 1, I did a custom installation of Photoshop CS & ImageReady CS, and also InDesign CS.
InDesign and ImageReady started up with no problems. But after I double-clicked the Photoshop icon I got a window with the message: "Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information."
So I trashed the Photoshop & ImageReady folder and re-installed them again. But I'm getting the exact same results as before: ImageReady starts up alright, but Photoshop displays the same window and message.
All the other Adobe CS1 applications I've installed are starting up alright. Can you tell me what's causing this problem and how to fix it? Thanks for your help!

Did you have another version of PS on there?

    Interesting solution here...
    1. Control+Click the Adobe Photoshop CS application file within the Applications > Photoshop CS folder and select "Show package contents".
    2. Open the Contents folder, then open the Resources folder.
    3. Locate the USERREG file in the Resources folder, and drag it to the desktop. Keep the Resources folder open.
    4. Control+Click the Adobe ImageReady CS application file within the Applications > Photoshop CS folder and select "Show package contents".
    5. Open the Contents folder, then open the Resources folder.
    6. Locate the USERREG file in the Resources folder, and copy it to the Resources folder for Photoshop.
    7. Launch Photoshop, and launch ImageReady to be sure the file was copied to Photoshop.
