My guess is that your Hard Drive and System need attention.
How long is it since you Repaired Permissions; ran Cocktail; and, most importantly, ran DiskWarrior?

  • Photoshop is Crashing when saving files

Hello, I have been having some trouble saving files.  Sometimes, and usually with the first file, Photoshop will crash when I try and save a file.  It also happens when I try and open a file into photoshop.  Most specifically, when I try and open my watermark file (png).  I have deleted the preferences, and am working on a freshly installed version of Windows 7.  Here is the crash report I was able to retrieve.  I am usually not able to retreive this info, because in most cases, Photoshop just completely dissapears instantly.

    StackHash implies memory corruption.
By and large, during software development, the number 1 reason I've isolated for that is problems in display drivers.  That's not to say it's the only reason memory could be corrupted, but it's more common than most people would think.
What video card do you have, and what version of display driver?
Does the problem persist if you disable OpenGL Drawing in Edit - Preferences - Performance (then restart Photoshop)?

  • Photoshop CS5 Crashes when saving...please help!

Someone please help...this is driving me crazy. Photoshop randomly crashes when I try to save...specifically I see it happen when I do ctrl+S and it only seems to happen on my first save. If my first save is successful all other saves for that document seem to go through without a hitch.
This happens randomly...not every time I save...which makes it even harder to try to debug. I have tried numerous things to resolve this: Swapped out my 8GB of RAM with brand new sticks. Deleted my prefs. Did a registry cleanup and defrag. I thought I fixed it but then boom...happens again.
I am running windows 7 64 ultimate, with cs5 extended, 8GB RAM, quad core, 8800gts GPU.
Any help is greatly appreciated...thank you.
    -Fred T.

    What Windows version(s)?
You're saying it worked for a couple of weeks then borked for all your users?
These are just some shots in the dark, as I don't run a domain / corporate net the way you do...
Did you install Photoshop using the users' own accounts?  I ask, because Photoshop expects to be able to write back to certain areas after the install, and it doesn't appear particularly interested in being a multi-user system.  One user, one computer.
If Vista or Windows 7, try visiting one of the users and run Photoshop once via Run As Administrator.  That may open up the protections on the folders and/or registry keys it needs to be able to access.

  • Photoshop CS2 crashes when importing with Mustek A3 scanner

First off, yes, I know I have an old version of Photoshop. When I got my new Macbook a year or 2 ago I was only able to scan via TWAIN using Photoshop CS2, and it has been the best way.
However, lately the scanning has been buggy. I've had no problems using PS as a whole, but sometimes when I got to Import < ScanExpress A3 USB 1200 Pro it'll scan halfway and crash, or the program will just outright crash. Today I've spent about 2 hours just trying to scan one image. It managed to work once, and now it crashes every time I try scanning.
These are the specs of what I'm using:
    Mac OSX 10.6.7
    Photoshop CS2
    Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Pro
Any help is appreciated. I need to use this scanner daily for work - If I can't get these images scanned then I don't get paid!

Perhaps a full uninstall will help. here is the link to the OSX uninstaller and drivers.
    http://www.mustek.com/mustek/supportdrivers.php?&show=drivers&disp_cat=Scanner&disp_sr=USB %20Port&disp_mod=ScanExpress%20A3%20USB%201200%20Pro&disp_catid=18&disp_srid=31&disp_modid =207
Then proceed to reinstall the OSX 10.6 driver for that scanner.

  • Photoshop CS3 crashes when saving MAC OSX

  • Photoshop CS crashing when saving - help!

Greetings everybody - I'm a long time reader, first time submitter and I'm really hoping for some advice.
I have been working in Photoshop CS for about a year and have never had any problems.
Lately, however, Photoshop keeps crashing on me. It opens up ok but every time now I use the marquee tool, the extract filter, or try to save anything, it crashes. I cannot understand why - I haven't installed anything new.
I have searched the message boards but nothing I have tried (resetting the preferences, uninstalling /installing PS) has worked.
I would be really grateful if there is anyone out there with any suggestions.
    Thanks very much.

    Betty,
Sorry to hear you're having similar problems.
I spent the last week trashing the preferences, uninstalling, installing and wasn't getting anywhere until a couple of days ago when it seemed to right itself.
Unfortunately PS crashed again a little later when I was using the feather tool.
I had read on a forum that one possible solution was to remove the AltiVec Core Plugin. It's found in Photoshop Plugins>Extensions. It was quite an old post and I was a bit unsure but by this stage I was desperate!
So I removed the plugin from the folder and dragged it onto my desktop. I didn't like to trash it.
I'm not sure if it was a wise thing to do but it seems to have worked. For the last couple of days I've been using PS and it hasn't crashed at all.
As a test, I returned the plugin to it's rightful place, and PS crashed straight away. I removed it and it's been working well ever since. I'm using the older version of PhotoShop, PS CS.
    Best wishes,
    Stan.

  • Photoshop CS2 crashes when trying to print

I need some help with Photoshop 9.02 on an Intel Mac running OSX 10.5. When I try to print from the application it crashes to the desktop. I have tried removing and reinstall the printer, updating the drivers, and even removing photoshop and reinstalling it. The printer is a BizHub Pro C500, every other application(Illustrator, Quark. MS Office 08, etc) prints to it without any issues. I can print from adobe if I choose another printer. There are four Macs here, and this is the only only that this is happening on. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    CS2 in
Leopard is not supported. your best bet is to figure out what the differences between the machines that work and yours.
have you made a new user and tried printing from that?

  • Photoshop keeps crashing when saving

This is the event log for the crash. It crashes randomly and the user is working with small files and maybe a maximum of 10 layers if that. The issue usually comes up when trying to save a file.

You seem to be running an obsolete version of Adobe CS6 .  You need to update it to the latest version for your Windows platform.
In the Mac it would be 13.0.6. I'm too lazy to check on Windows for you.
Just use the Photoshop Help menu > Updates.

If you have an app regularly crash, it's probably because there is something in the system that has changed that it doesn't like.
    Your options here:
    1) Run Disk Utility and repair permissions.
    If that doesn't solve it
    2) Go Back to 10.4.5 or
    3) Upgrade to Photoshop CS2

  • Photoshop CS2 crashes when opening selective color

Every time I try to open image/adjust/selective color the program crashes.
It has also started crashing after I save a file.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the program, but to no avail.
I'm using a Mac Mini OSX 10.4.1 with 1 GB ram.
I've been running CS2 on this computer for 2 years without a hitch.
Any fix or advice would be appreciated.

I would suggest updating to 10.4.11 as there have be many bug fixes since 10.4.1

  • Photoshop CS6 crashes when saving

My file crashes about every third time i save. Sometimes, it will crash on the first time i save I have updated all drivers, updated photoshop, did the font test,  etc. etc. i don't see a way to send a crash report from windows. there is no message after the crash that says anything like "report errors." Can someone please give me a definitive answer or a way to contact adobe directly. thanks

I installed 12.3 and restarted my computer. This did not solve the problem.
I've reinstalled Photoshop twice as well with no developments.
Then, I found this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4289204
My card (Radeon X 1300 / X 1550) is not listed in the "Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6" section.
If I go to Edit->Preferences->Performance, and mouse-over the "Graphics Processor Settings" section, it says "Photoshop detected an error in your display driver. Update or reinstall the driver and check Use Graphics Processor to retry".
Is there any way around this?

  • Latest update, photoshop crashes when saving

Ever since the latest security update, my photoshop crashes when saving a file?? Usually 100% of the time, but on occasion it's OK with a really small file.(??)

    Hi Susanbombay,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The10.4.6 update changed the AFP specification. PhotoShop CS2 uses the older OS9 spec.Does this happen when you're saving to an AFP mounted volume?
There are a couple of ways to sort this out.
    1. save to your desktop and copy the files to the server.
    2. roll back the AFP version to the one used in 10.4.5.
(contact off forum & I'll send the files to you)

  • Photoshop CC crash when using Nik Collection

I have been using Lightroom 5 and Nik Collections plugins successfully for a while and just got Photoshop CC.
Unfortunately Photoshop CC crash when I save my work that I have done in ColorEfex Pro 4 or SilverEfex Pro 2.
The other plugins in the Nik Collection works fine, I work with TIFF and layers. My work flow is that I do some basic work in Lightroom then "Edit in...PS". From PS I use the Nik plugins, normally I'd do Dfine, Sharpner and then SilverEfex or ColorEfex. The crash happens when I get back to PS after saving my work and that last layer is never created and all my work is lost.
I would be grateful for any help. Below is the data from my system. Thanks !

The solution in my case when I posted this was to contact Google who sent me files that disabled the GPU, updating the driver didn't do the trick. The crashes stopped when the GPU was disabled but Nik was painfully slow.
No I have a new machine with a more powerful GPU and everything worked fine for a while then Colour Efex started to crash when I opened it in PS. Google gave me a link to AMD where I got the latest driver and now I think it's working again, I'm not sure because I have not done much work lately.
Bottom line....Nik seems to require a pretty powerful machine both when it comes to RAM and GPU.
    Good luck !

  • Adobe bridge crashes when saving illustrator files

    Hi there,
We are developing custom connector using Adobe Drive SDK for our DAM system, the integration with CS was working fine, we recently updated Adobe Drive to 4.2, and we are encountering bridge crashes when saving illustrator file. It didn't happen with older version(4.0.2) of Adobe Drive, not sure why. I pin point the part that causing the issue: in our custom connector, we have READ_XMP_METADATA capability which we need to display the thumbnails and previews, and in the ftp sample connector, this capablity is not included originally, so the issue does not happen, but if I add this capabilty, the crash issue happens as well. If we exclude this capablity from our connector, this crash issue doesn't happen.
We noticed this only happens when saving illustrator file, not photoshop or indesign, and it seems that only in illustrator, when save, and the bridge has the current file folder showing, we are seeing there are twice folder refreshes, and usually it will crash after the second time. In photoshop and indesign, we don't see folder refreshes. If switch to other folder, the crash won't happen. We tested on both windows and Mac, on Mac, this seems happen less often. Another thing we noticed is in debug mode, or we have many debug logging turned on, the crash happens less often, if it is deployed with no debug logging, the crash happens almost everytime. So we are guessing it might be some synchronization problem.
Could you please advice what's the cause of this issue?
    Thanks,
    Katherine

    Has it ever worked?
What kind of files are they and where do you save them?
Is a printer connected, set up and turned ON?
Have you already tried resetting the preferences?
Generally it's not a good idea to just save old files, because then some artwork may be automatically flattened. Illustrator will save the file to the old version file-format and if you used new features in-between, those cannot stay live in the old version file format.
