Photoshop CS2--Deactivate--Install on Win7

I want to deactivate all my CS2 products so I can install on another computer. Is this an easy thing to do? Does anyone know if I can install CS2 on Windows 7 Ultimate after I deactivate from my old computer?
Thanks,
Lana

PS CS2 click on help then click on deactivate to install on another computer. Far as I have read in the forums and Google PS CS2 is a mixed bag of issues or no issues on windows 7. Depends on your video card and drivers too. you can go to the MS site for windows 7 and it lists software that will run on Windows 7. Keep in mind CS2 was not built for windows 7.

  • Windows 7, problems with Photoshop CS2 upgrade install

I just upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and I seem to have outsmarted myself.  Ever since version 5 I've bought the upgrade... well, now I no longer have the original version 5 disk and can no longer install and use either my CS or CS2 version.  While I do have a backup copy of my old version 5 CD copied onto my hard drive it will not install on Win7 and the CS2 upgrade doesn't recognize the backup as a valid upgrade.
When I try to install version 5 I get an error message to the effect that it's incompatable with Windows 7.  Trying to install either CS or CS2 and I get a "valid upgrade not found" error... if I let it install anyway in trial mode once it's done installing I get a "trial period is over, enter serial number".  I enter my serial number for the version I'm installing and I get "invalid serial number"  Invalid?  It's the number on the back of the CD case verified 10 times.
Am I hosed or will I have to go back to Windows XP?  I've paid for the Photoshop CS upgrade and the CS2 upgrade over the years but neither will install and run since I cannot install the last full version I own.
At the moment I'm having to use my laptop for all my photoshop work since it's still running XP and so it has a functional version of Photoshop.

    It works fine.
Right click on the "setup.exe" file on the CS2 install disc and then click on "properties", then click on the "compatibility" tab.
Click on the box for "Run this in compability mode" and in the pull down select "XP sp2".
    Click "apply" and then "ok".
Now go back to "setup.exe" and click on "Run as administrator" and CS2 should load fine.

  • Photoshop CS2 Trial Install Crash on Mac Pro

Well, I've seen the benchmark sites running Photoshop CS2 on a Mac Pro, but when I try to install the trial version, it crashs during the install process. I tried re-installing Mac OS X and re-installing Photoshop first thing, but with the same result.
A search only brought up a previously known issue with QuickTime 7.1, but the fix was to update to 7.1.1 - since my install has QT 7.1.2 this doesn't seem applicable.
Doom3 is the only other Rosetta app I've tried, and it runs fine - heck, I didn't even initially realize that the demo is the PPC-only version.
Has anyone else gotten it successfully installed? I don't want to spring out the cash for the full thing until I know it works (and I want to test out the Kodak Digital ROC plug-in to make sure it works as well.)
(I'm asking here since my lack of search results leads me to think it might be Mac Pro specific.)
    Take care,
    P.M.
    Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   (2.66/160GB/7300GT/2GB/BT + 250GB PATA drive)

    This worked for me....
    Restart
During restart, hold Ctrl + Command + P + R to reset the PRAM
After this, the computer will flash and reboot again and should boot into the Mountain Lion Installer.
    Good luck.

  • Photoshop CS2 un-installed and re-installed without de-activavtion. Activation window refuses to procede.

? Photoshop CS2 on Windows Vista. On start-up PS refuses access. Decided to un-install and re-install, unfortunately not thinking of de-activation. Now, on start-up, window offers registration which always fails. I am not offered help>de-activation, or help>transfer activation. Help>Adobe Forum!

Did you use the right serial number? The windows download is 348MB the Mac download is 441MB If your was 380MB there may be a problem with what you downloaded... If you can not get it to install you may have to contact Adobe customer Support. However CS2 is no longer suppoorted.

  • Photoshop extended wont install on win7 64bit !!!!

Hello can someone help me out. I own photoshopCS4 extended 64bit. I am running Windows 7 pro 64bit. Every time i try to install photoshop extended it always installs the standard and NOT THE EXTENDED version. I know its not the CD because i tried to install it on my second machine (win xp 32 bit) and it worked!! Does anyone have any suggestions!!

The serial number is what determines the version of PS CS4 that is installed on your machine.
It is impossible for PS CS4 to install the 64 bit version on Windows XP 32 bit machine.
If you have a 32 bit OS machine PS CS4 will only install the 32 bit software.
If you have a 64 bit OS machine PS CS4 will install both 32 bit and 64 bit software.
Don't forget to install the .exe file installer file as Admin. Run the Disk but choose to explore the Disk. Find the PS folder and open it and right click on the .exe file and Choose to run as Admin.
Turn off Windows defender prior to install. It is also better to turn off Adobe reader if it is installed (better yet, remove it) as it has caused PS CS4 install problems in the past for some unknown reason.
To avoid problems install PS CS4 on C drive.
Like I wrote above the serial number determines what is installed, not the Disk. You will know if you paid for the extended as it is almost 1 grand (the upgrade is cheaper).
If you feel that you purchased the extended version but only the standard version installs you need to contact Adobe. Tell them hey, here is my receipt for Extended but the serial number you gave me is standard. This has happened before but nobody ever posted back saying the problem was corrected.

  • Photoshop CS2

since Adobe Photoshop CS2 was installed I had so many troubles. It's very slow, and it takes up to 10 minutes to pen an image, as I'm working in huge files. Moreover, it keeps haning and crashing, and collapses out of the sudden without any error messages.

    Hello,
    Thank you for helping.
huge images: I meant images size is big, more than 1 GB.
OS: Windows 7, installed in 32 bits.
    Hardware: HP HighEnd

                     Manufacturere: Hewlett-Packard
                     Model: HP Z800 Workstation
                     Model number: FF825AV
There is no reports at all, the application suddenly closes.
We have other machines that use the same OS, they have the same specifications, although CS2 is functioning properly.
    Regards.

Okay, lately I've been having problems installing photoshop after trying to create a user account for myself on this damned computer; a friend has supposedly helped me but we'll never know until I'm able to install the program itself... This is where ya'll come in.
    I am getting the message:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop CS2 finished installing..." etc, etc.
I have rebooted twice and even waited a few hours before trying to install and still, I receive the same message.

  • Upgrade CS2 standard from Photoshop CS2

    Hello,
I've bought a second-hand imac with CS2 standard, the guy which sold it to me has reinstalled OS so I have to re-install everything... Photoshop CS2 is installed successfully but when I want to install the CS2-standard upgrade it doesn't recognize the serial from Photoshop CS2! It should work cause it did before! (note: the owner who worked with it has deceased and the guy which sold it to me didn't know anything about mac; it are legal versions for sure!).
I really hope someone can help me out cause I can't contact adobe right now!
    Thanx...

Do you own the software or did it come with the computer you bought?
If the latter it is basically pirate software you need a letter of transfer from the previous owner.

  • Lightroom does not recognize Photoshop CS2

I installed on my notebook and all is well.
However, I installed on my desktop and Lightroom does not see that Photoshop CS2 is installed.
I'm sure a full re-install of CS2 then Lightroom would fix it...but I'm hoping for a less painful way of fixing this?
    Thanks!
    Greg

Ok - right after posting the message, I found my own answer back on the beta messageboard.
    Here's how to fix it:
    1) Run regedit.exe from start menu->run
    2) Look for this folder:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\photoshop.exe
In that folder, there should be a key "Path" and its value should be the folder where Photoshop CS2 (or any other Photoshop version) is installed."
My registry didn't have that folder, so I created it and added a "Path" key with the value being the path to Photoshop CS2: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\

  • How can I deactivate Photoshop CS2 on an old Mac?

I tried to deactivate Photoshop CS2 on my old Mac by using the "Transfer Activation" command on the Help menu. (There is no "Deactivate" command.) Photoshop never recognizes that I do have a connection to the Internet, so I cannot proceed. Is there a way to Deactivate on this computer?

    Forget about it.
The CS2 activation server was shut down by Adobe a couple of years ago. So you're trying to communicate with a server which no longer exists.
Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
If you're planning to re-install CS2 on a new Mac, that won't work since CS2 is a PowerPC application which will not install or run on modern Intel-based Macs running newer versions of OS X.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 Installing Error

When I tried to Install for tryout version, it sometimes has an error. It says me to put the serial number in. Though it succeed it, it says like this : "Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\Photoshop_CS2_tryout\Photoshop CS2\Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS2\Data1.cab. Verify that the file exits and that you can access it.".
I verified that the file exits, and I could acces it. What is happening?!

    Hi ,
We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
Simply put it in another folder. The path is too long and unnecessarily convoluted - folders inside folders inside folders....
In the meanwhile if these steps doesnt resolve your issues you can contact Adobe support by following the link below:

  • Installing photoshop cs2 onto macbook pro

I had the old version of photoshop cs2. I want to put it on my new macbook pro. I was given the link http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html". I have downloaded it but when I try to install the message says 'Installation failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Looks like you're looking at buying a full version of CS6 or subscribing to the cloud.  :-/

  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 Install

I am attempting to install Adobe Photoshop CS2, I know it is an old version, but I am unable to upgrade at this time.  However, I have the full version of Adobe Photoshop CS2, and when I run the install it states that it is looking for a previous version of Photoshop.  I have verified that this is not an upgrade only cd.  Please advise.

Thanks for trying to help out guys but after hours of toying with this thing it finally hit me like a brick wall.  I found a work around.
For anyone that may run into this issue in the future:
When you run the Adobe Photoshop CS2 install and it will not let you install due to looking for previous versions
Install Adoby Photoshop CS2 as the 30 day trial, which will install without any issues.
After the installation is completed then ender the serial number manually after that.
Not sure why it has to be a PITA about it, but it works.

  • Re install Adobe Photoshop CS2

    31/05/2013.
The question is for someone with Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7.
I presently had to reformat my hard drive to get rid of a bug that left me with a black screen.
After all is reset started to ri install my old programs. One of them is Adobe Photoshop CS2.
After installing CS2 I tried to register it, and Adobe come up saying we don't support this program any
Go to such and such a sight for help.
I have triad that and do not find a satisfactory solution to register.
They say there is a free version somewhere.
If that is the case why not organize that so the old program on my disk gust install and validate at the same time.
Adobe have all my details and how many programs I use from them with registrations. ( About 10-12 programs.)
Why make it harder to old customers of Adobe??? I like CS2 for a number of reasons. Some functions there not in CS5 or different and not as handy.
Or do they want us to migrate to a different supplier of Photo Organizing Programs.?????????
    Tank You for the answere.
    Loui

    Loui,
The server that handled the activation for CS2 applications has been decommissioned, put out of service for good.
"Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers.  …"
That's why you need to download Adobe the special version of CS2 made available in order to support cases like yours.  That special version does not call the mother ship for activation at all, so it requires no activation.  It does come with a new serial number, as yours will NOT work.
    You'll find them here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
I wish folks didn't come to these user-to-user forums asking why Adobe does this or doesn't do that.  As users, we don't know—and we don't care.  You are not addressing Adobe here.
