Hi emegemedia,
Welcome to Adobe Forum,
Since CS2 is an end of life product, we have removed it from server.
You can download & reinstall it from https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads
You have to use the serial number mentioned along with the product.
Hope it helps you.

Rajshree

How can I deactivate Photoshop CS2 on an old Mac?
I tried to deactivate Photoshop CS2 on my old Mac by using the "Transfer Activation" command on the Help menu. (There is no "Deactivate" command.) Photoshop never recognizes that I do have a connection to the Internet, so I cannot proceed. Is there a way to Deactivate on this computer?
Forget about it.
The CS2 activation server was shut down by Adobe a couple of years ago. So you're trying to communicate with a server which no longer exists.
Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
If you're planning to re-install CS2 on a new Mac, that won't work since CS2 is a PowerPC application which will not install or run on modern Intel-based Macs running newer versions of OS X. -
Can i install photoshop cs2 on a new mac?
hi, i have a new MBP and wish to install Photoshop CS2 but i am having issues.
i am running OS X 10.9.4. Does anyone know how i can install it?
i can't really justify the price of the full new version of Photoshop for the amount i use it so the free old version is perfect for me. Unless anyone has a cheap Adobe alternative?
Regards,
JoeAdobe CS2 is not Free Software you need a licence to run it legally
System Requirements for Photoshop CS2
by Shea Laverty, Demand Media
While Adobe Photoshop CS2 was released in May 2005, its age may make it an appealing target to businesses -- as of the date of publication, CS2 is still an adequate product for most basic business needs and may be available second-hand for considerably less than the price of purchasing the latest version. Because there are few modern computer systems incapable of running this system, prospective owners should check their system against the minimum requirements before purchase and installation.
Processor
Windows users looking to install Photoshop CS2 will need at least an Intel Xeon, Xeon Dual, Centrino, Pentium III, Pentium 4 or comparable CPU in order to run the program. Mac users will need at least a G3, G4 or G5 PowerPC processor. -
Wanting Photoshop CS2 or 3 for Mac can no longer trade my version thru Adobe
I currently have Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Windows, but I just recently got a iMac that I want to use Photoshop on. I called Adobe and they can no longer send me a Mac version in place of my windows since it is an older version. They said check on here and hopefully someone would be kind enough to upload to me or send me the Mac version.
Here is the system info on my iMac OS X....
iMac 5,1
Intel Core 2 duo
2 GHz processor speed
memory 1GB , 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I would love any help I can get. I have a lots of photos I want to photoshop on my new (to me) Mac and I can't !! Thank you in advance for any help :)
Thank you
AtousaYou miss understood they meant perhaps you could find someone here who had an extra license they would be willing to sell you, even if they did not use those exact words.
If your iMac supports CS4 it would cost you the same thing more then likely.
BTW legal or illegal if you used someone else's cross grade install it would be a waste of time as your windows serial number will not work on the Mac version. The $20 fee for the cross grade is for the Mac serial number which you can only get from Adobe but they do not sell it anymore.
Illegal or not it would not work, the support meant perhaps you could buy a Mac license for CS2 or 3 if someone wanted to part with their license for some reason.
Do yourself a favor upgrade to CS 4 if your iMac supports it and if not upgrade your iMac as well. You will be much happier, much more productive and it will prove more profitable. -
How do I install Photoshop CS2 on a new Mac desktop ?
I have not used my Photoshop CS2 for a few years; I used to have it on my PC and It loaded and worked fine- But I had a lot of trouble between PC and viruses, and so now, I have chosen an Apple Mac desktop. I have had it for about a week now. The prolem however is that the programme does not seam to load , do I need to go back to using a PC ? Or is there a way that I can install CS2 on my new Mac? When I put the disc in the Drive the CS2Disk appears; when I double click on it ; the window showing the folders opens; and that is where I am stuck. ps the software is original. I am A pensioner and a Fine artist can you help me. also the photoshop logo does not appear on the desktop.
No way.
a) PC software doesn't run on Macs.
b) that being the case, you would have to switch paltforms but
c) Adobe only offers it for current versions (Order an Adobe product platform swap or language swap)
d) even if it were possible, CS2 doesn't run on any modern Mac because Apple have long removed PPC code as used by that version
This is not going anywhere for a number of reasons as you see. You will have to come up with something else like getting a current version of PS Elements, signing up for Creative Cloud or using free software like GIMP, if you realyl don't want to spend any money.

Photoshop CS2 crashes on startup (Mac OS X 10.6.6)
We have a new Mac in the office. We initially tried to copy all documents/programs from the old to the new, but for some reason, we noticed Photoshop CS2 would crash when we booted it up.
So we uninstalled CS2 entirelly and reinstalled the suite. Still, it crashes upon startup.
I reset the preferences using command+alt+shift, and I double checked the library to ensure I did not see a preferences file in it.
Still it crashed.
I then went and uninstalled all but the system fonts through Fontbook. And...it still crashes.
On a possibly related note (not sure), when I use Indesign, sometimes the type disappears or does not reflect a change unless I click out of the text box and then reclick inside of it. Because of this, we suspected a font issue...but after uninstalling fonts, I'm not so sure.Otherwise, Indesign works fine. (If I restart the program, sometimes it temporarily resolves the issue.)
Of course, customer service told me to "Google" the Photoshop issue because it doesn't support CS2 any more. I've looked, but every thread I've checked has been resolved by one of the steps I've already taken.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Here is my crash report.

Photoshop CS2 on Mac OS 10.5.8
Can photoshop CS2 work on a Mac with OS 10.5.8 installed? If not which versions work?
It may or may not work. CS and CS2 are not supported in Leopard. If its an Intel Mac CS2 must run in emulation mode(Rosetta) this can add another layer of problems. CS3 and CS4 are both supported in Leopard and on Intel Macs.
Adobe no longer sells CS3. -
Photoshop CS2 keeps crashing after recent migration
Hi... just migrated my files to a new iMac and after a day of running fine, PS CS2 keeps crashing. It launches, but crashes quickly and randomly... sometimes allowing me to open a file and work on it for a minute and save it, other times when trying to go back to PS from another program.
Help!!Hi, I have the same problem with my Photoshop CS2 crashing on my Mac OS 10.6.3. I removed Photoshop, reinstalled and then installed the latest update (9.0.2) and it still doesn't work. Every time I open Photoshop, it almost completes opening and then it dies, giving me the following Photoshop quite unexpectedly error. Please help!

Is there anyway to install my old version of Photoshop CS2 onto my new mac without the discs?
Adobe took down their old Activation servers so you can not activate installing CS2 from your CD. Adobe made available a new download of CS2 that uses their new Activation servers for activation their old CS2 customers can download and install.
Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products -
Weird system crash when trying to install Photoshop CS2
It gets to "Running installer script" and then nothing. I only have a movable cursor at this point. I can't even force-quit. I'm left to force a shutdown with the power button.
I've tried Hardware test and the computer passed. I check the disk in disk utility - was fine. I even tried copying the photoshop disk to the HD and run it from there... crashed the same way.
Anyone have any ideas?Frank, not sure if this is quite your problem, but there is a known issue with Photoshop CS2 and Intel based macs after the last security update. If you install Photoshop CS2 then the computer will no longer boot properly.
The solution is to start up in "safe" mode (by booting the Mac with the shift key held down - this may take a while as "safe mode" involves a full directory check and repair if necessary) . Once it has booted remove Adobe VersionCueCS2 from /Library/StartupItems.
If this is not done then the only way to boot the computer is by Netboot, CD boot or Safeboot.
Adobe are apparently promising a fix. see http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2358601#2358601

? Why does my Photoshop PS2 open on my Mac Book Pro OS 10.6.8 Intel Core 2 Processor but not on my just purchased Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.3? On my new machine I get a message saying "You can't open Photoshop CS2 because Power PC applications are no longer supported". I don't have a Power PC on either machine and this App does run on the older machine with an Intel processor. benrusy
This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

I tried to install Photoshop CS2 on Mac, OSX, 10.9.5.
By the end of the installation, it shows, error, but no error number for reference,
The only choice is "quit".
Please helpThat is correct Das_Sad. CS2 will not run on Intel based processors under Mac OS. You will need to find a Mac computer with a PowerPC processor if you wish to run Creative Suite 2.

When I try to install Photoshop CS2 I receive a message that PowerPC is no longer supported.
Hi,
I bought a new laptop to my company to work at, and now im trying to install Photoshop on it.
Since my last 2 versions of Photoshop have been upgrades and i only have the full version of PS2.
I've been trying to install the PS2 but it keeps telling me "You cant open the installer cause PowerPC-program no longer is supported".
So i've been trying to download it via ur homepage instead (yes the products are registered).
But i cant seem to find any way to download my product from ur page? I've checked all over ur homepage but without any luck.
Is it not possible to download a product from ur homepage that i've payed quite a fortune for????
Hope i can get a reply asap.
- ToreToreHagman did you purchase a new Intel processor based Mac? If so then the error message will be accurate. Looking at the system requirements for Photoshop CS2 it appears it required a PowerPC based processor as opposed to an Intel processor.
You might also be having additional problems if you are using 10.7 as Rosetta/PowerPC emulation support was dropped in 10.7 as well. -
I bought Photoshop CS2 some time ago. I got a new mac (OS X 10.8.2) and when I'm trying to install it I introduce the cd, accept and after it copies the files, appears "The installation failed" The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the sofware manufacturer for assistance. How can i fix this problem?
The CS2 version of Photoshop is Power PC code only, It won't work with your new Intel Mac OSX 10.8.2
I found this:
Q. Will Adobe update Adobe Creative Suite , Studio 8, or individual applications, such as Photoshop CS, InDesign CS, Illustrator CS, Dreamweaver 8, Flash Professional 8, or After Effects 7.0, to be Universal applications?
A. No, Adobe does not plan to re-release current products as Universal applications that can run natively on both Intel- and PowerPC-based systems. This applies to Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Studio 8, as well as individual applications such as Photoshop CS2 . . . .
