Photoshop CS2 quits

Question

App quits when I doubleclick to open. I talked to a tech at Adobe and he says it's a corrupt system font, Arial. How do I get rid of this problem. I'm leery about trashing a system font.

There are 2 answers
One, there is a folder called Legal or Legal.localized inside every CS2 folder you have -- photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Adobe recommends trashing this. It contains files named in Asian and other languages that use very different fonts. (This was an official Adobe recommendation to which I've lost the reference).
Then you can run disk utility to verify and if necessary repair the system disk, being careful to follow its directions.
But this did not fix my CS2 crashing problem. The following did:

Problem solved-- malware?
My /Library/Applications Support and <user>/Library/ApplicationSupport
folders each contained a number of unix executables with numerical names,
such as 65138, having random-looking creation/mod dates from2003 - 2005.
These are not on another eMac I have. I removed them to another folder,
which I archived for safekeeping, and voila! CS2 runs normally. I can now trash the archive.
Do not remove other Unix executable files buried deeper in the Libraries -- they are probably needed for proper operation of other software. The ones I mentioned are right at the top pf the 2 App Support directories I mentioned.
