Photoshop CS3 copy

Hello,  I need a download copy of Photoshop CS3.  I had to rebuild my computer and when I inserted my install disc I was told that the installer database was corrupted.  Customer Support wasn't any help.  I was told that they do not support CS3 anymore.  I have a valid serial number for it.  Thanks.

Thank you both Christoph and Jeffrey.  Your link and directions were spot on.  However, I still am having this problem.  I continue to get the "Installer database is corrupt" message so I guess it isn't my version of CS3 that has the problem.  Could it be that for some reason Window's 7 doesn't like my original licensed Photoshop 7 (from WAY back)?  The whole Photoshop 7, CS3 upgrade and CS5 upgrade worked on this computer before I had to rebuild it.  My install of PS 7 seems to work just fine. As a test I even dug up my old copy of CS2 and installed it without a problem.  It hits the wall when I try and install CS3.  Should I uninstall and reinstall it or does anyone think that there is another problem lurking on my computer.

  • Why did my copy of Photoshop CS3 stop working? The message tells me that Adobe has stopped licensing it. I love it. I want to use it. How?

My copy of Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I love it. I am very familiar with it. I paid hundreds of dollars for it. When I click on it (W/my MAC) I get a message that reads: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the product by contacting Adobe Customer Support."
So how do I repair it so it works again? I've called the "Chat" forum three times and they do nothing. Please help...I use this Photoshop CS3 for work.
I have the serial number, but not the original disc which was damaged.
    Thank you in advance.

I am trying to run it under Mac OS 10.9.5

The simplest way to clear it up is usually a re-install. Here is a link to the installers: Download CS3 products. Have your serial number ready.
If this fails, I am going to direct you to this thread: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1714695 Start at post #11.

Copying a CMYK Indesign CS3 photo element (photo silo) into a Photoshop CS3 RGB document - color retbtion issues in a Smart Object?

What a bad idea pasting an image into Indesign instead of placing it is.
I would recommend writing an X4 pdf without downsampling and compression and opening that pdf in Photoshop (but set to »Images« instead of »Pages«).
And if the image is unprofiled Edit > Assign Profile with the indd’s profile before converting it to RGB.

  • How to install Camera RAW update for Photoshop CS3?

I know this is an ancient version! But for now it's all I need. Anyway...
My Adobe Updater says "No Internet connection.  Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall.  Waiting for connection..." That's the first problem.  I figured out how to manually update Photoshop and Bridge, but Adobe Updater still shows this message when trying to check for updates.  Also, I've tried to update Camera Raw from 4.0 to 4.6 and I can't figure out how to manually install it.  I knkow the website says to do the following:
    Mac:
Exit Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge.
    Open the Finder.
Navigate to the root of the local disk (not the user’s home folder).
    Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats.
Move the existing plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensureyou keep this version in case you need to revert back.
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw, from the download into the same folder as in Step 4.
Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.
I manually entered "Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats" and it says this folder doesn't exist.  Can anyone help me update my camera raw?!
    Thank you so much!

  • Photoshop CS3 installs but won't run on new OS install

    Hello,
I've been searching through the forums and have seen some users with a similar problem, but haven't found any info that's relevant to my situation.
I have done a fresh install of Windows XP Pro SP2 and decided to install a brand-new copy of CS3 at the same time.
This computer is totally fresh - there are no printers, no TWAIN drivers, no funny fonts or games installed. The only software on this machine is Windows and whatever updates Windows Update has pushed out.
The Photoshop installer runs fine - no crashes or error messages. However, when I try to start up Photoshop, I just get the outer frame of the app window and (usually) the File / Edit / Image / Layer... menu bar. There is no splash screen, and no palettes appear. If I click anywhere in the app window, the menu bar disappears and the title bar says "Not responding".
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling from both the DVD and the web download. I've tried selecting the "repair" option on the install screen. I've tried downloading and installing the 10.0.1 update.
I tried installing Lightroom and Reader to see if those work (they do).
I tried installing the latest video driver for my gfx card.
None of these change the behaviour I've been seeing at all. I opened a support case with Adobe about 4 days ago but haven't gotten a response yet.
Any thoughts? I was able to run PS CS1 on this computer just fine before I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled everything, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
    Thanks,
    Thomas Park

    Hi Guys,
Ive got the same problems as you, Win XP SP2 on RAID 1 hard disk set on an AMD raid controller, but I have no driver to roll-back to.
Ive installed Photoshop CS3 and also Acrobat Standard 8 (which used to run fine on an old system), but all i get now is the blank window with the menu and title bar and thats all.
Can some one help?  (will this licensing patch resolve the issue - and where can i get it from?)
    Thanks

  • "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3″ a JPEG?

Hey, I have a problem: when I try to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3″, and select "Edit a Copy" It doesnt open in Photoshop CS3 a .PSD file: it opens a .JPG file.
I'm viewing an JPEG, and I have selected to copy as PSD.
    Is that ok? Comments? Thanks!

    > I have a problem: when I try to "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3″, and select "Edit a Copy" It doesnt open in Photoshop CS3 a .PSD file: it opens a .JPG file.
To my way of thinking, this is correct behavior. When it's opened in PS, it *is* a JPEG to start with. You do your edits, then you SAVE as whatever you want. If you want it back to a JPEG, Save as, otherwise, you can save as PSD or TIFF and you won't have lost anything due to re-compression.
Converting a JPEG to PSD only to open it immediately in PS does nothing positive, and is just an extra step.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3

I am using Adobe Design Premium CS3, and it seem to always pop up the Help function after a while of using the photoshop. Have to restart the software again to solve the problem. May I know why this always happen? Please help if you can, Thankyou!

    Hi Priscilla,
Photoshop CS3 is over four years old and Adobe doesn't sell it any longer...  Photoshop CS5.1 is the current version - and if you would like to add a license from Adobe, that is the release to purchase and/or upgrade to.
Trying to find a good and legit copy of the old Photoshop CS3 instead is challenging and not recommended as there are a ton of unsafe fakes and hacks out there that will harm your computer, so be careful.
    Hope this helps!

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 or later

    Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if there was anywhere I could download Photoshop CS3 or later from without paying in excess of £300? I have found a couple of downloads on the Internet (one of which being Cnet), but would these just be trials or full versions? I'm not normally one for trying my luck on these things but I already have Photoshop CS5 on PC and want Photoshop on my Mac as well, but I don't want to pay twice!
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben.

There's no place to get it for free that isn't illegal, and would have an almost 100% probability that the installer also contains malware such as a key logger, back door, or other nasty stuff.
The CNET posting is just a link that will send you to Adobe's site.
If they still do this, call Adobe for a cross platform upgrade. Rather than paying full price for the Mac version, you get a full version copy at what used to be a typical upgrade price of about $160. You also get to keep both serial numbers. Meaning, you don't have to give up the Windows license.
But that was years ago now since I did that. No idea how they may have changed the crossgrade policy since then. If they do, expect to get CS6. They won't have a boxed version for sale older than that.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Activation Problem

Hi all, hoping someone can help me.
I have a legitimate hard copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended which was only recently taken out of its sealed package.
On installing and trying to activate I get an error. Now i am left with a window telling me "Registration Unsuccessful"
Any ideas how i can go about solving this? I legally own this copy and I need to use it and can't do with it deactivating.
Thanks in advance for any help given. It's very much appreciated!

Mordynak I am sorry but I find no software titles registered under the Adobe ID/e-mail address you used to post to this forum.  From this discussion it sounds like you have already utilized the process listed in Find your serial number quickly.
Please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  If this link still fails then I would recommend utilizing a different web browser as the current add-ons, security settings, add-ons may be preventing a chat session from being made available to you.
If you continue to face difficulties then please update this discussion.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended freezes on startup under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - No splash screen

I installed my licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended today as part of my install a bunch of software after a reinstall of Windows (due to viruses).  I did a completely fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've used Photoshop CS3 Extended for quite a while now so I know what to expect on startup but it was previously installed under Windows XP Professional (32-bit). Figured I would give Windows 7 a chance this time around.
Google searches aren't turning up anything.  When I attempt to start the application, I get a window with the title "Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no "Extended" - I seem to recall the title changes later) and the toolbar appears.  However, no splash screen appears and no Product Activation wizard appears - the application simply freezes on an empty frame and a toolbar.  I've tried running Photoshop as Administrator (right-click, "Run As Administrator"), but nothing changed there.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried upgrading to CS3 10.0.1.  Nothing works.  The application simply freezes before it gets anywhere.
I tried calling Adobe Support since this technically falls under installation issues but their phone support systems are down today.  Go figure.
Edit:  I hooked into Photoshop with the Visual Studio debugger and every single thread is executing some variation of WaitForSingleObject() or WaitForMultipleObjects().  The main thread is "executing" somewhere in AdobeLM_libFNP.dll (at address 09619d81 - if I had debugging symbols for CS3, I could provide a function).  There are nine threads "running" at the point the freeze occurs - but all of them are technically suspended due to the functions they are executing - and one thread is in a suspended state.

And, according to the Event Viewer, the "Binary" data translates to a zero-terminated Unicode string of "Cross-thread".
My Visual Studio analysis was far more informative.  All threads are hung inside of WaitForSingleObject() and WaitForMultipleObjects() calls and the DLL in question appears to be FlexNet-related.  I did forget to mention that I also even manually started the FlexNet service in case, for some strange reason, Photoshop was waiting for it to start.  That also did not work.
(And there is nothing in the Action Center control panel either despite the message saying there might be more information there.)
Edit:  The timestamp above might be a little odd-looking.  I didn't originally see anything in Event Viewer until I clicked the first button to send an Error Report.  Mostly I just skipped that part of killing a process.

    > but the part about DNG has convinced me to dive deeper in it and give it a go
When working in a Bridge/Camera Raw/Photoshop workflow, I tend to ingest the actual native raw files, do initial selects and gross edits and basic metadata work via templates and THEN do the conversion to DNG. I'll use the DNG as my working files and the original raws as an archive. I tend to do this more with studio shoots. I tend to use Lightroom when I'm on the road.
When working in Lightroom first, I tend to ingest and convert to DNG upon ingestion (when in the road working on a laptop) while using the backup copyusually working on a pair of external FW drives one for working DNG files and 1 for BU of the original raws. Then, when I get back to the studio I make sure I write to XMP and export the new shoot as a catalog and import into my studio copy of Lightroom. Then I'll also cache the newly imported images in Bridge as well so I can get at the image either in Bridge or Lightroom.
It's a bit of a chore now since I do work in Camera Raw a lot (well, DOH, I had to to do the book!) but I also keep all my digital files in a Lightroom catalog which is now up to about 74K...
Then, depending on what I'll need to do, I'll either work out of LR or Bridge/Camera Raw...
If I'm doing a high-end final print, I generally process out of Camera Raw as a Smart Object and stack multiple layers of CR processed images...if I'm working on a batch of images I'll work out of Lightroom since the workflow seems to suit me better.
In either event, I've found DNG to be better than native raws with sidecar files.
