Photoshop CS3 license problems

My license for photoshop has stopped working due to getting my mac fixed and photoshop being removed by apple when it was being fixed. When clicking on photoshop the message displayed says:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
You cannot use the product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
I have uninstalled all adobe products using the disk and then i re installed all the softwear but it still displays this same message?
Can anyone help?

  • Photoshop CS3 Installation Problems

A customer has purchased Photoshop CS3 & is having problems installing on Vista Business
If I logon to the Users PC as Administrator & install it there, what steps will I need to take to access it from the Users account
    Thanks

Well, who told you it was for a Mac? If you bought it at a retail store, you should be able to take it back there and exchange it for a Mac copy. If you bought it used, you should demand a refund from whoever you bought it from.
Of course, that is all assuming it's actually a Windows copy, and there's not something else going on... What does it say on the CD? My Photoshop Elements CD is very clearly labeled "Macintosh."

  • Photoshop CS3 Cursor Problem

    Hello,
I have been playing around with my College's copy of Photoshop CS3 and have stumbled across a bit of a problem. It seems that I have managed to lock my Photoshop file from all editing as I am unable to use any tool apart from the Hand Tool.
I haven't got a clue how to fit it.
    Any Ideas
    Thanks in Advance.
    Josh

    Thank you for that.
I will have a go at restarting my PC and various other combinations of open programs to see what works.
    Thanks

  • Photoshop Cs3 saving problem

    Good Day!
I've just installed Adobe photoshop Cs3 Extended and everytime i save my work, it crashes. The window is still there yet i can't click on anything even the menu bar. And the worst part of it is that it didn't save my work.
It also doesn't close so i have to restart my computer again.
I've already reinstalled Cs3 twice but it still crashes like that.
Please help me solve this problem, thank you.

    Monette,
The Save dialog probably appears off-screen. Did you change monitor setup lately?
Can you Esc out of it?
Either reset the preferences (forum FAQ) or change the monitor settings to the highest possible pixel dimensions, bringing the dialog into view, then move the dialog to the top left of the screen, save something, and go back to the usual screen properties.

  • Photoshop CS3 activation problems

Does anyone know how to activate Photoshop CS3 on win8.1, everything i try fails, i have internet, the activate over the phone say it know longer supports activation and tells me to go to a website that is not available. HELP!

You may need to find Adobe's phone number on the web site, starting with clicking the red icon at the top of this page.
Chances are you'll need to run Photoshop CS3 As Administrator, at least to get started.
Photoshop CS3 can activate just fine on Windows 8.1.  I have a copy installed and running.

  • Photoshop CS3 Trial Problems

I downloaded Photoshop CS3, although whenever I try to run the setup it says:
Adobe Photoshop cannot be installed because it conflicts with:
    - Adobe Photoshop CS3
I tried searching around to see if I had photoshop laying around on my computer and I couldn't find anything..I searched in all my docouments, on my desktop and even my computer, and the adobe folder in c:/program files/adobe.
I'm not sure what it means, and I don't think I have photoshop on my computer anyways, can anyone help?

Try the Adobe clean-up script from their site.

  • 10.5.3 Seems to have solved Photoshop CS3/Spaces problem

I've just backed up and installed the 10.5.3 update. The only remaining problem with PS CS3 and Leopard was using Spaces and finding out that the Palettes, Tool Bar and Options Bar would frequently not redraw, depending on how you used Spaces. Twenty minutes worth of testing and that issue seems to have been resolved. The update for my Mac Pro was 420mb and required one OKed and two automatic restarts. It's a bit of a process.
    So far so good!

    Hi Everyone!
I too have this bug on my Mac Pro at work and my iMac at home. I use Spaces religiously so this bug is extremely annoying.
I went ahead and reported this bug to Adobe. I suggest that everyone else do the same.
I haven't been able to fix the blinking cursor without restarting Photoshop but here are some ways to avoid it:
    1. Switch spaces using CTRL + Arrow Keys / Number of Space instead viewing all of the spaces in a grid.
    2. If you are like me and prefer the grid you can avoid the blinking cursor by making sure the Type tool or Marquee tool is NOT selected in Photoshop before you switch Spaces. If you have another tool such as the Move tool selected when you switch Spaces you will not get the blinking cursor when you switch to the Type or Marquee tools after returning from another Space.
Let's hope Adobe gets this fixed ASAP.

  • Big big photoshop cs3 crash problems!

When I load up Photoshop I get "Licensing for this product has stopped" I followed the steps that Adobe provided on their support center. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop - no good :(
It worked yesterday but suddenly I got a message "send a crash report"
    Can anybody help?

Nope. It stayed a demo, I just wasn't happy with the crappy way it worked but still wanted to stay in touch with the new functions so I worked on CS1 and played with CS2 for 18 months, then when CS3 fixed most of the crap I bought the update and carried on.
    I just checked, it was CS1 I did it with. I have PS 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 7 (no version 8 upgrade) 9 and 10.

  • Photoshop CS3 printing problem

    Hello all,
One of my client is having problems printing Contact sheets on his color printer.
    Here is the scenario;
    User opens CS3
File - Automated - Contact Sheet II
Browse to folder where pictures are and selects folder
    Contact sheets get created
At this point, the user must select each sheet one by one and change his printer selection to the color printer because each sheet defaults to his  B&W laser printer
Collegue uses Photoshop CS and only needs to change printer selection for the first Contact Sheet then switches to the other sheets and presses CTRL-P to print them.  If my client does this, the second sheet up to the last sheet would print blank!
Is there a reason why CS3 forces you to change printers for every sheet?
Is there a fix for this?
My client is quadriplegic but has 20% upper body movement.  The less manual modifications the better for him.
I know that he can change his default printer to the color before creating the Contact Sheets then change it back but he wanted to see if there was a fix to the problem first.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Two things:
    - Printer settings are "system settings" in the far and wide sense. If the user does not have sufficient privileges, he may not be allowed to change such settings persistently. This might affect sequential printing like in the Contact Sheet automation, where each file is sent separately to the printer.
    - The printer driver overrides specific settings. This could e.g. be things like "print first page in a different format", automatic paper selection and a few others. Some of that could even hinge on you choosing a unsuitable paper size and layout in the first place which makes the print engine try to make "smart" decisions about these things. Carefully look through the drivers and take out conflicting settings. also, if your printer allows to store custom settings profiles, maybe use a factory preset instead.
If that doesn't work, you can often install the same printer multiple times with different settings by tying it to a different virtual port or using a different driver, like e.g. one time a winPrint driver and the other a PostScript Driver. This will entail some additional manual work, of course, but might solve the problem.

  • Photoshop CS4 licensing problems

We are a secondary school which purchased Adobe Photoshop CS4 back in 2010 with 10 licences, from a company called Ramesys.  They provided us with the licence keys which worked perfectly fine.  However, we have recently had to update the PCs and although we 'deactivated' the licence before wiping the PC, we are unable to get CS4 licenced again.  We have put a 64-bit Windows 7 image on the PCs.
When we try to enter the licence key, we get a red cross automatically come up and clicking next warns you that 'The serial number you entered is not valid.  Click OK to retry entering the serial number.'  However, we know that we are definitely putting in the correct number.  We have tried both entering manually and cutting and pasting from the email we had.  Neither work and give us the same message.
We called Adobe - they are less than helpful.  They told us that the serial number we have is certainly correct but cannot help any further and suggested we try these forums?!
We tried to contact Ramesys, but it seems that have been taken over by Captita.  Not sure if it's worth pursuing this with them or not?
Is there anything that we are doing wrong, that would prevent this from activating?  We only have the time it takes the trial version to run out!  These computers are being used in our Art department and the pupils use CS4 almost every day.  We really need to get the software activated as soon as possible.  Any help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards

I find it inappropriate that the company would send you to a user to user help forum to try to resolve licensing issues.  Neither does any user here have access to the licensing database, nor do we deal with commercial license questions much here.
But I guess I can see their logic:  They verified that your serial numbers are correct, so they're thinking something's wrong with the computer systems or installations of Photoshop.
I'm sure you've double-checked all of this, but since they've sent you here the basic questions need to be asked...
Where did you get the Photoshop image you installed (then and now)?
And it IS Photoshop CS4, right?
Have you tried installing it from a download directly from Adobe?
Do your computers reach the internet directly?
Are you entering the full 20 digit serial number, with 5 fields of 4 digits?
You do have different serial numbers for each machine, right?
Have you tried a clean uninstall and reinstall (I know this is a stretch)?
Thing is, I believe an immediate red X (is it immediate?) implies that the software feels the basic format of the serial number is wrong.  So the software doesn't match the serial number somehow.
I'm not sure, beyond asking you to verify your most basic things, that we can help you much more than this here on the forum.

  • Photoshop CS3 Tablet problems

    Hi.
I have a Laptop (HP PAVILION DV6000, Dual-core at 2 ghz with 2 ghz of ram) and Windows Vista Home Premium Pre-Installed. The thing is...i get myself a digital tablet NGS CADBOY ULTRA, it has 1024 pressing levels. Windows Vista has its own drivers for tablets (Tablet PC) but with those, Photoshop doesn´t recognise the pressure (it makes the same size making a lighter pressure than in a stronger one), When I download the NGS CADBOY ULTRA drivers for windows vista, it installs a program for pressure recognisement, but Photoshop stills making the same size, even with the brush properties marked as "By pressure control" and, as an added problem, my computer takes minutes to shut down when i install those ngs drivers, but not once, every time i turn off the computer, it takes too long, if i haven´t got those drivers installed, the computer turns off at a normal speed .What can i do?

I purchased a Wacom tablet (I think it's the Graphire) and I'm having the same problem. After installing the Wacom software, Windows XP lists it as a "Pen Tablet" but Photoshop doesn't recognize any pressure input.
I checked and the "TabletServicePen" service from Wacom is enabled, so I don't know why the pressure sensitivity isn't working. Anyone else have this issue?

  • Photoshop CS3 reinstall problem

I had installed cs3 on a secondary harddrive than went bad. When I
try to reinstall it's trying to repair the exsisting version that I guess some files were installed on my primary harddrive. It gives me the message of:
    any help?

A Google Search turns up a lot of people recommending 3rd party uninstallers.  I haven't used any of those and can't recommend one.
Adobe themselves have a variety of removal aids...  Many look like they were for beta versions, but it's possible they could help you.  This turns up a lot of possibilties:

trying to launch photoshop cs3 on a mac running OS10.6.8 i keep getting the error message: Licensing for this product has stopped working  you cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT adminstrator or Adobe customer support for help
I already Uninstalled and reinstalled the product and it still does not work.

    Hi,
Try to uninstall the software again and you have to manually
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/
Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility, Open it and Select the MAC HD and then click on Repair permissions.
After that try to run the cleaner tool as mentioned by kglad.
Restart machine and then try to install again.
*** Make sure , you only delete these folders if there is no other adobe applications installed on the machine. As if you have any other Adobe application of the suite ( not free applications ) then it will be a problem.

  • New hard drive and photoshop license problem

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1.5 Ghz Pentium processor, 2 GB of RAM, and Win Xp/Pro SP3.
The hard drive in this computer failed, and it has been replaced.  I used an image backup from Acronis True Image 10 to "restore" the new disk.
Now, when I try to open Phostoshop CS2, I receive a message that the license is no longer valid (I have been using this version of Photoshop for a long time).
    I don't have this problem with InDesign CS3 (v. 5.0.2), FrameMaker 7.2b144, or Acrobat 8.1.6.
I didn't find any helpful info on the "Product Activation" web page.
I tried a forum search and a search of Adobe.com using the search criteria "new hard drive and photoshop license problem."
The only relevant item I could find is this:
"Backup and restoration of your system using standard tools do not require reactivation. While reactivation after backing up or restoring the system was required in early versions of Adobe software (such as Adobe Photoshop® CS), Adobe has continued to improve the activation process with new technology that eliminates the need to reactivate after system restoration. In complex situations where the system is being upgraded, we recommend deactivating the Adobe software before commencing the system upgrade. Once the system upgrade is completed, the subsequent install/restore will require reactivation, which is typically accomplished without difficulty and is completely transparent to the user."
So does that mean I have to "reactivate" Photoshop CS2?  If so, do I use the Activation window that is displayed when I open Photoshop?  The serial number has 20 characters.  Will the Adobe (re)activation recognize this old serial number?  If not, what do I have to do to get this product usable again?
    Please help.

    >replaced your hard drive and CS2 DRM is looking for the old hard drive number and not finding it
Interesting... I use http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm which creates a bootable CD and runs outside of Windoze
I have made image files and loaded those files to a new hard drive (I use drive swap hardware to make a backup and create a new drive every time I install or uninstall major software) and have never had any program complain about needing activation
But, since the program I use is Linux on a bootable CD, it copies EVERYTHING on a hard drive, even the hidden registration areas as far as I can tell, so when I do a restore to a new drive, everything is put on the new drive
