hi new to forum but not to photoshop, have been using cs3 for a while, reinstalled last week due to new hard drive... help please

I re installed cs3 which i thought would repair any issues. it does not

Version cue.dll missing and cannot right click

Whenever I try to right click on any of my desktop files I get a pop up menu which says entitled explorer.exe – Fatal Application Exit and then the following error message:
The specified module could not be found. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\Version Cue.dll
I’ve uninstalled all Adobe files on my computer and still get this error message.
I have looked at some of the Adobe forums messages which suggest copying the Version Cue.dll files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\Version Cue.dll into a 4.0.1 folder however I do no have a Version Cue folder in my Common files\Adobe folder.
Please advise asap as my company does not provide IT support for Adobe products and want to reimage my computer to resolve this problem.

I just wanted to make a note that I read some of the other solutions posted to similar questions and was able to resolve the
issue by moving the Adobe Drive folder out of the Adobe folder within the Common files folder.
The right click problem went away however I'm having problems now reinstalling Acrobat Pro Extended. I'm not sure if this is related.

Why do you need to check it if you can't access it? If it is because you need to have it deactivated then contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.

Gordonr18571658 I am sorry I don't have any additional suggestions for how to install Photoshop Elements 1.0 besides installing in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

Help!!! Suddenly every time i try to open a pic or pdf i get massage: " modual not found at Programs/commonfiles/Adobe/adobe version cueCS4/client/4.0.1/versioncue.dll
any ideas. I tried to download that specific item but it said alreay installed.

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, reinstall the programs - without Version Cue.

Bridge CS3 Version Cue Folder ICONS Incorrect (Windows 7)

Hello,
After updating to Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, the folder icons that appear in Bridge CS3 when browsing a Version Cue Server appear as little hard-drives with a windows icon. (We use Bridge CS3 to avoid using the notorious "Adobe Drive CS4".)
We could live with these new icons and pretend that they're folders, but does anyone know of a hack or the registry location to flip these icons back to a folder icon?

Hi Curt,
I just tried it and it didn't work. My issue isn't with the Adobe icons or thumbnails of the actual files, just with the icons that are shown for the sub-folders.

CS3 Version Cue not loading in Bridge

I'm trying to access a version cue server in bridge, but there is no button to access version cue in bridge. i know there is supposed to be a button in the favorites panel, but its not there, and there is no way to 'check it' in preferences. its checked under the startup scripts panel in preferences.
version cue server is started and running, its in my task manager as well as my taskbar.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling bridge and version cue several times, and that hasn't fixed the problem. I've tried unchecking version cue and sdkloader, then restarting bridge, then rechecking them, restarting bridge, to no avail. there is nothing in my inspector panel, nor in the inspector panel preferences. i even tried reinstalling all of CS3, that didn't help. but - i had the reinstaller save my preferences, b/c im apprehensive to lose all my custom workspace settings. i tried resetting the preferences in bridge with 'alt-ctrl' on load, didn't help.
any ideas would be great. if i can avoid completely removing CS3 (my preferences mainly) i would appreciate it.

CS3 Version Cue as a sync tool?

Has anyone tried saving a Lightroom library to a VC "Lightroom" project? Any idea if using this approach would work as a way to synch a library & all its related folders/files easily between a desktop/laptop?

InCopy CS2 Copyfitting with InDesign CS3, Version Cue CS3

Hello. We are using InCopy CS2 together with InDesign CS3 as part of an Version Cue CS3 workflow. Certain stories do not copyfit exactly in InCopy CS2. They copyfit properly in InDesign CS3, but when the assignment with these stories is opened in InCopy CS2, the copyfit is close, but not perfect. We never had this problem when we were using InDesign CS2.
Has anyone seen this problem; can anyone suggest a workaround? (Incidentally, The copyfit looks just fine when we open the file in InCopy CS3; but we are NOT using InCopy CS3, because it causes synchronization problems - it reports that files are open, when they are not. )

The text engines have changed from CS2 to CS3 and again with CS4.
There's no way to get an accurate copy fit using a different version of InCopy than InDesign.

CS3 Version Cue-related crashes

I recently started having the crashes in both ID and PS relating to saving or placing objects that is described in article kb402930. I followed the instructions and uninstalled Version Cue, although I still had to manually remove the Application Support files. That allowed me to work within ID and save without any problems.
Unfortunately, now I can't even open PS. It gives me an error saying that Version Cue isn't installed!
Now what?
By the way, running OSX 10.4.11 on a G4. (Don't laugh.)

Adobe Drive 2.1 supports connections to the Version Cue CS4 Server, or a CMIS compatible DAM system. So, you have two choices if you want to use it with CS5 authoring applications that are integrated with Adobe Drive 2.1:
1) Purchase a CS4 suite that has Version Cue CS4 server and install it. You can use the migration plug-in that comes with it to migrate data from your CS3 to the CS4 server, and then connect to it via Adobe Drive 2.1
2) Purchase a CMIS enabled DAM system. In this case, you'd have to use the Version Cue CS3 Server export features to export the head files to your file system, then import those into the DAM system via Adobe Drive 2.1. Keep in mind this would not include earlier versions, or version comments, etc; just the current version of all documents.

Everytime I try to make a GIF, and I select the length of the video, and press okay, a box comes out saying: Adobe Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I've tried the "CTRL-ALT-SHIFT," but it doesn't work! Please help? ):
