I have this problem with Photoshop CS4:
my operating system is windows vista 64 bit,I has installed many times the version of test of Photoshop Cs4, the installation goes to good, but in the moment I try to use Photoshop, windows says me " the program has stopped of work" and it is closed all…
I have watched in the visual display unit of events of windows, in the section registries of windows and the error that appears is the following one:
" Application that it has generated the Photoshop.exe error, 11.0.0.0 version, timestamp 0x48d3882e, module that has generated the error nvoglv32.dll, version 8.17.12.58 96, timestamp 0x4c378f09, code exception 0xc0000005, offset error 0x000a85db, ID process 0xe14, date and hour of start of the application 0x01cb706c671eed10."

Without proper system info and other technical details like what the files specifically contain, where they are stored, your PS swap file preferences and so on nobody can tell you anything. from the files being damaged to containing references to e.g. flaky fonts to PS not being able to create its temp files there could be any number of things at play here.

CS4 doesn't work after LION installation

After the Lion installation i had several problems.
One of these is that the cs4 doesn't work.
i open illustrator or photoshop and they crash every time. "photoshop not responding" "illustrator not responding" and so on..
I had to reinstall all the suite that now works.
The question is... why??
I thought is is better to format the mac... should i do ?

Another problem is:
When I start the Dropbox Application, it uses nearly 90% of the CPU as well, so the mac heats up, in a way that it is not possible to use the dropbox application...
(The Icon of the VLC Media Player only jumps up and down in the dock, and nothing else happens)

Adobe Photoshop CS4 has Stopped Working on Windows 7

Hey guys and girls. I recently got a new computer running Windows 7 64bit. I still have good ol photoshop cs4 and wanted to use it on this new computer. The install process was completed and as I started the program, I get the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working" box. I've looked through some forums, and a lot of them mention the wacom tablet issue, which is not the issue since I've yet to install the drivers for my tablet. Has anyone come across this problem at all? This is what shows up when I get that error box.

The first thing that I would do is insure that you have the latest video driver installed (but do keep any older ones, just in case you must roll-back - newest is not always the best).
If that does not help, then open Even Viewer, and check for all warning, or error messages in System and Application tabs, for the time that PS crashed. If you find any with links, follow those links - be patient, as some might take a few moments to send data to MS, and then for MS to process it, to open the proper page for that link plus the data gathered. This ARTICLE goes into a bit more detail, and I do not think that it is too Adobe Premiere-centric.

I’m getting the following error message when ever I try to use the Phtoshop and the program gets close.

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, reinstall the program. Make sure to run it with sufficient user privileges.

Whenever I get the part of the video selected that I want and hit okay I get a message saying:

Also, you can make sure your system is 64 bit capable by:
Open Performance Information and Tools by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Performance Information and Tools.
Click View and print details.
In the System section, you can see what type of operating system you're currently running under System type. Under 64-bit capable, you can see whether you can run a 64-bit version of Windows. (If your computer is already running a 64-bit version of Windows, you won't see the 64-bit capable listing.)

Bought a new Mac, migrated data, now CS4 doesn't work. Why?

I bought a new Mac, had the Apple guys migrate my data and apps to it. Now CS4 doesn't work.
I researched a bit and found that I SHOULD have deactivated and uninstalled CS4 from my old Mac. I've now done that.
But do I have to uninstall CS4 files from my new Mac now--and reinstall? Will that work?

My situation is a little different. I am hoping you can help me with it. I hope I am not violating any protocols by asking you specifically? A year ago I reinstalled my Mac's operating system. My CS4 is on my computer under "Previous System." I am unable to open it from there and I do not want to attempt migrating it for reasons noted above. I did try to reinstall it as you suggested to hbrady67 by dowloading from CS4 products with my serial number but I got this message: "Upgrade Check We looked in the default location for qualifying products installed on the machine, but none were found. You may verify upgrade eligibility now by completing the fields to the right. 1) Select a product you already own. 2) Enter a serial number for this product. CS4 wasn't in the list of selections. The protocol suggested won't work for me since I am not doing an upgrade but trying to reinstall what I already have. Can you direct me on where to go/what to do? Thank you very much. Bergi.
I found the solution to this problem. I was able to download the trial version of what I have and enter the serial number from there. However, it still asked for a serial number from previous software: "your setup is for an upgrade version of Adobe Creative Suite 4." (I entered the serial number that I have for CS2. It seems that there might be some gremlin in the licensing module. The PS CS4 board has several similar instances. I do not know exactly what the problem is, but this should be an easy reset by Adobe. It has worked for the PS users and requires one free telephone call. I am with Harm on this. I doubt that many, if any, users can be of much help. The installation issues *used* to be simple and quick, but I have not had to make that call, since Illustrator 3. Have your S/N handy. If you purchased from the Adobe Store, a receipt # might come in handy too. Once your product has been verified, you'll probably be asked to enter a key, and away you go.

So, you're totally new to computers?
Go to the Help menu in Photoshop and select the System Info menu item. Copy all that information and paste all of it here MINUS your serial number.
Yes, Photoshop can delegate a lot of the computing tasks to the GPU on your graphics card. You may have to disable that feature in Photoshop Preferences > Performance.

We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
Plug-in installation instructions:
1. Close Photoshop Elements
2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
• For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
• For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.

I checked my windows 7 pro machine for the module I see many copies if the DLL with different dates two different sizes all are version 11.0.51106.1 so I guess there are 32bit and 64bit versions. Some are in Adobe folders some in Wacom folders ad in two windows folders including system32. I do not know if there is and entry point "_crtCreateSymbolicLinkW" in it.

"Edit in" Photoshop CS4 no longer working. Lightroom to Photoshop

I just replaced my home desktop Win8 computer. I reinstalled all my software and for a brief period Lightroom (v. 5.7 with Camera Raw 8.7) was working with Photoshop CS4. Now, I use "Edit in" Photoshop and the Photoshop program will open, but it will not open my Lightroom selected photo.
