Photoshop CS4 Extended trial (3D features question)

Does the trial version provide full 3d tool capabilities? Before downloading over 800 MB and using even more space for installation, it would be great to know! :P
(I am only intererested in upgrading from CS3 for the ability to paint 3d models).
I searched Adobe's site extensively to see if the trial has "full" features or limitations, but it mentions neither.
Thanks in advance! :D

No idea. I can only speak for the full Master Collection and there it works when installed as a trial. I would assume that the standalone PS trial supports all the features, otherwise it wouldn't be PS Extended. Even more so, as the 3D part is Adobe's own concoction that does not involve third-party licensing rights which could possibly prevent them from having this in the trial...

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended Trial - Available yet?

    Hi all,
Not sure if i am behind the times? But is Photoshop CS4 Extended trial available from adobe yet? If not, do we know when it will be made available?
    TIA

I'll tell you EXACTLY why, billhughlett.
Because in the time it takes to type out and submit a simple question like that, post it, then wait for an answer, the questioner could easily spend 30 seconds finding it themselves. Even a poor Googler or surfer could rustle up the answer to this particular question in about 2 minutes.
It's not that many of us wouldn't deign to answer, it's just that our free, voluntary time is better spent in dialogue about issues that aren't so easily found. The esoteric, the arcane, the anomalous, the exceedingly difficult...that's kind of where this forum earns its keep.
You want nicey-nice, spoon-fed answers to "Where's the Paint Bucket?" and questions on that level? Perhaps any of the hundreds or thousand independently-run beginner Photoshop-focused sites/forums is where you wanna be. It's not that we won't answer simple questions, but I think most of us don't like to feel we're being taken advantage of.
Maybe the "attitude" is just a harsh little lesson in being a little more self-sufficient.
The mid-November date may not have slapped you in the face, but it's there, and it's relatively easy to find.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended - Trial Version Expired

Can someone help me please. I have searched the forums but I cannot find a solution.
I installed the Photoshop CS4 extended trial which expired a few weeks ago. In the meantime I have purchased a copy of Photoshop CS4 (Standard not Extended). I completed removed the trial but I am unable to installed the purchased copy. I am getting the trial expired serial input screen.
I have also tried the unistall with REVO but this has not made any difference.
I have tried to use the Adobe cleanup but I dont think its worked properly. I am running Windows 7 Operating System.
I have uninstalled/installed photoshop 5 times now and its driving me mad

There is no problem such as you describe.  If you buy a legitimate standard edition license, you can enter that serial number and the trial version will be activated as the standard edition.
Where did you get this copy of Photoshop CS4?
If not directly from Adobe, there's a chance you were scammed and your serial number isn't valid at all.  Photoshop is heavily pirated.

  • Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 Extended trial version

    Hello,
I have Photoshop CS4 installed on my Windows Vista system and wanted to download the Photoshop CS4 Extended trial.
I tried to download the Photoshop CS4 Extended trial on the desktop as well as on the laptop and wasn't successful.
I was able to download other Adobe trial applications such as Flash CS4, After Effects CS4 and so forth.
I thought the issue mentioned above was due to the fact that Photoshop CS4 was already installed or maybe cause only Photoshop CS4 is available for the trial and not the Extended version similar to CS4 Encore?

    Thanks for the answers...
I think John understands me. As a matter of fact I have a PS Standard
CS2, CS3 and CS4 installed on my system and was wondering why I wasn't able to install a PS CS4 Extended trial. Apparently you just can't.
It's a pity 'cause as a consequence if you want to try the Extended version you have to get rid of the Standard version first and then download the Extended trial version?
I think it would also be better that the Adobe site should mention that you cannot download the Extended version when you already have the Standard installed? For example if you hover over the PS CS4 icon here, you will notice the 'try' link. Then you might expect that you just can download and install the application whether you have the Standard already on your system or not.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended Trial question?

If I download the trial of PS CS4 Extended and then later purchase the full version can I use the key from the full version to activate the trial?
Or would I have to uninstall the trial and install the full version?
    Thanks.

In theory yes but, bearing mind all the problems being reported here, I wouldn't do it.

  • Photoshop CS4 extended trial error help

before i installed the CS4 trial, i uninstalled all previous photoshop versions that were on my computer(cs2,3). but when i open photoshop cs4, it doesnt even start to open. all i get is an error reading "licensing for this product has stopped working" and it says that i must restart my computer before launching, which i did. it's the same error every time and i dont know how to fix it. i have a windows xp home edition 32 bit.512 Mb of RAM. i tried googling but the only help i found talked about a "FLEXnet" folder which i don t have. so any help would be appreciated. =]
(just please dont say restart ur computer or uninstall and reinstall the program. i know that those wont fix it)

    >(just please dont say restart ur computer or uninstall and reinstall
    >the program. i know that those wont fix it)
Not entirely correct. In many cases a uninstall/reinstall will correctly initialize the licensing system. The point here is, that one of your previous uninstalls, most likely of CS3, did not go as planned. You can of course try the tips from the knowledge base first. If they fail, uninstall. In addition, make sure to run the CS3 clean script and CS4 clean utility to get rid of every trace of old and defunct files. Then try another install.

  • I cannot install the Photoshop CS4 Extended Trial

I have Photoshop CS3 Extended on another computer and wanted to download the trial for this computer. It gives me the error saying. "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder." Now this is a newly re-formatted computer with more than enough memory, I am the administrator of the computer and everything. Is anybody else having this problem or know how to fix this? Thanks

  • I can't install Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended at all

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended (Trial Version) from the Adobe.com website through Akamai downloader. Well, i tried to install it clicking on the set up, but it started to install and a few minutes later stopped and displayed a error message. The message, without error code identifications, just informed that there was an error during the instalation and Adobe bridge and another one could not be installed.
I tried again and it started, but when it was almost finishing another message appeared warning that "there was an error during the instalation(again no code error identification) and that Photoshop could not be installed.
I follow some tips like shutting down the firewall, AV,  but it didn't work. I used the system restoring so that i could completely clean up remaining files and tried to reinstall it, but again nothing.
    Has anybody any idea?
    Thanks

I know that John, when i said that i usually run the system as administator, i meant that i logged on as administrator. Sorry if i caused a misunderstood.
I decided to format the computer again. Perhaps, some problem during the system instalation may have caused this problem. After that, i'll try to install it and see what's gonna happen. I've decided to do it because If it is caused by an instalation error of the main system, it may  also cause hassles when using other softwares. But if it is not caused by an instalation error i'll come back to get help.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended quick question

    Hello,
My question is simple so I'll keep it brief. I'm able to buy Photoshop CS4 Extended via the University I go to, but I would only use the photography features. Does Photoshop CS4 extended work the same way Photoshop CS4 does in that regard, but with just more advanced features for video etc?
In other words, will Photoshop CS4 extended work the same was as Photoshop CS4 would with my photos?

  • Trial of Photoshop CS4 Extended Version

Hi, I'm looking for a trial-version of Photoshop CS4 Extended Version to install it on my notebook. Problem is that I don't have any drive here, does someone know where I can get it?

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Photoshop CS4 extended

Can anyone tell me the difference between Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 extended? I bought the extended Version at the end of 2009. I had only been working with Photoshop Elements until then and I didn't need a user's guide for that. What are the "extensions" on CS4 extended? I cannot find any information anywhere and neither the installation CD nor the included "learning Adobe Creative Suite"- CD contains a user's guide that would answer my question. I'd really be grateful for an answer.

I'm having a problem creating a slide presentation in CS4.  Is this a feature spec

  • Can accurate measurements be made and images scaled in Photoshop CS4 Extended - Student Version

I draw and amend plan based images (similar to Ordnance Survey plans) and need to be able to work in detail using accurate measurements to create a 2D representation of a building or other feature and their surroundings to a particular scale. Ideally I want to take this further to use the base plans as a means of generating a 3D image.
I currently have Photoshop Elements 6 which does not allow me to either measure distances/line lengths or work to a defined scale. Am I correct in understanding that Photoshop CS4 Extended - Student Version would overcome this technical deficiency?
    Thanks, KJ

Get the trial and play with the vanishing point filter. It allows you to draw planes in perspective, scale, clone to the drawn perspectives, measure distances between points and define a distance which is used as a baseline to measure out all the other perspective lines.

  • How do you make a 3d octagon in photoshop cs4 extended?

How do you make a 3d octagon in photoshop cs4 extended that you can map artwork to? I've been searched online for a solution that doesn't involve using a 3D program but can't find anything. Can't you extrude a shape like in Illustrator, or exporta true 3D shape from Illustrator that will work? I'd use Illustrator but the mapping thing is finicky, and doesn't alow wrapping images around angles. (now someones going to say: "Don't mention any other programs in a PHotoshop forum!" Yeah yeah, there should be a forum then about using different Adobe programs together.) End of rant, any suggestions much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks for your prompt response!
    Suggested Bridge Update
It turns out that I got a message that this update had already been installed, which led me to more carefully look at the Bridge window and (finally) see that the Output module had a Quality dropdown: Full, 300 ppi, 150 ppi, 96 ppi and 72 ppi.  Thanks!  I decided to compare the CS4/Bridge results to those I got in CS2 with its convenient File/Automate/PDF Presentation/Multi-Page Document routine that I like.
My project was an 8-page PDF made from scanned pages of handwritten notes into which some fairly small type had been insert using the Photoshop CS2 Type tool.  In Photoshop CS2, I had settled on "medium quality" JPEG compression as giving a "reasonable" file size (about 7 MB) and "very good/excellent" image quality.  I experimented with making the PDF in Bridge, using all five Quality levels.  See table below.  The Bridge "good minus" file was about the same size as the file produced in CS2, which I judged to be "very good/excellent" and slightly better visually than the 300-ppi, 23.5-MB Bridge file.
    Bridge Quality:
    Full
    300 ppi
    150 ppi
    96 ppi
    72 ppi
    File Size:
    25.2 MB
    23.5 MB
    7.6 MB
    3.2 MB
    2.1 MB
    Subjective Quality:
    Very good
    Very good
    Good minus
    Poor
    Useless
I appreciate that you may not be all that interested in these observations, but it seems to me that Adobe has done us no favors in the multi-page PDF department in going from CS2 to CS4!
Install the Old Contact Sheet/Picture Package Plug-Ins
I had already done this some time ago, in order to get in CS4 the File/Automate/Contact Sheet II feature I liked in CS2.  It does not appear to me that this plug-in has anything to do with make multi-page PDF's.  Perhaps I'm missing something.
    Again, thanks for your response!
