Photoshop CS4 suddenly stopped recognizing CR2 files
I'm working on a mac.
I could open my (canon eos 5d mark II) CR2 raw files without issues before christmas, now however I get the "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this filetype" error.
I tried updating my raw plugin, both through package download and through photoshop, but the problem still remains.
My plugin version seems to be 5.0.0.178 if that helps at all.
You need at least 5.2 for the 5D mk2. Not sure how you managed to drop a couple of versions, as most people can't even do that if they try!
The best version of ACR for CS4 is 5.7. You can download it here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4680

Thank you!Have you tried trashing uour FCE preferences? That is usually the first step when FCE begins to act in unexpected ways. Reinstalling the app will not overwrite existing preferences - you need to trash them.
You can download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion (free) and it will do all the work for you. Do a Google search.

Lightroom 5 suddenly not recognizing CR2 files...
I plugged in my card reader today to import some raw files, and lightroom said they could not be imported because the files weren't recognized. I opened them just fine in photoshop so I know the files are okay. I also tried copying to my desktop and importing from there, but I got the same message. Any idea why this would be happening? It happened with two different memory cards as well so I don't think it's a card issue.
Hmm - it's taking me to my copy.com account, instead of your file - somethin' not quite right (and I think it's the link you posted - format looks wrong to me..).

Premiere Pro Suddenly Stopped Recognizing .MOV Files
I have been working on a project and it includes an .mov file. Never had a problem with that particular file or any others before. Yesterday, while I was working, Premiere suddenly decided it couldn't read the file and when I put the cursor on it, I got the "Media Offline" screen in the monitor. I like Adobe CC, but this is the second problem I have had this week and tech support is never there when I need it. Well worth the 50 bucks a month. Anyway, has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix for it? I am using a PC

Why does photoshop cs4 crash when opening a file? (Mac OS 10.6.8) I've rebuilt pref.'s and reinstalled Photoshop with no positive results. I can create a new file but cannot "place" anything because that crashes as well.

Use that to convert all Raw 6D files to DNGs then try opening the DNGs in Photoshop 7. -
DVD Player suddenly stops recognizing and playing homemade DVDs
The DVD Player in our G5 has suddenly stopped recognizing and playing some home made movies on DVD from several friends. These discs played just fine before, but now we get a message that says "supported disc not available".
I've got the latest version of DVD Player 4.6.5. Why would it suddenly stop reading all these DVDs? Thanks for any ideas or help. Bob Krist

I am using OSX 10.4.7 (Build 8J135) DVD Player 4.6.5 (Framework 4.6.6)
Home-made video DVD-Rs work fine. DVD player starts when a disk is inserted. The disk shows up on desktop. Get Info and Disk Utility show UDF (Universal Disk Format). Finder shows the VIDEO_TS folder, .VOB files, etc. Get Info's Preview window will even play the .VOB files.
So, UDF read support is still in OSX 10.4.7 OSX has never had UDF write support except for iDVD.
I personally record movies from TV, legally. And my
solution to that problem is to create a Disk-Image,
that I burn on a data-disc, and I don't use
DVD-Player.
DVD Imager <http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/applescript/dvdimager.html> will create UDF disk image files from VIDEO_TS folders. When you burn these with Disk Utility they will play in standalone DVD players and in Macs. They will start Apple's DVD Player when inserted.
Toast can also create UDF disks.
If you create non-UDF disks (e.g. with Disk Utility), most standalone DVD players will not play them and Apple's DVD player will not start automatically when the DVDs are inserted. You can still play them with Apple's DVD Player by using "Open DVD Media" from its "File" menu and choosing the VIDEO_TS folder. -
Adobe Photoshop CS4 has Stopped Working on Windows 7
Hey guys and girls. I recently got a new computer running Windows 7 64bit. I still have good ol photoshop cs4 and wanted to use it on this new computer. The install process was completed and as I started the program, I get the "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working" box. I've looked through some forums, and a lot of them mention the wacom tablet issue, which is not the issue since I've yet to install the drivers for my tablet. Has anyone come across this problem at all? This is what shows up when I get that error box.

Please help, thanks in advanceThe first thing that I would do is insure that you have the latest video driver installed (but do keep any older ones, just in case you must roll-back - newest is not always the best).
If that does not help, then open Even Viewer, and check for all warning, or error messages in System and Application tabs, for the time that PS crashed. If you find any with links, follow those links - be patient, as some might take a few moments to send data to MS, and then for MS to process it, to open the proper page for that link plus the data gathered. This ARTICLE goes into a bit more detail, and I do not think that it is too Adobe Premiere-centric.

After installation of latest Bridge and Photoshop version (2014.2.2) *.CR2 files will not be displayed correctly anymore, neither in preview nor in Camera Raw dialogue.
Some pictures have white squares with blue and red diagonal stripes that cover almost the complete picture.
When opening those files I have the same problem in Camera Raw dailogue and even in Photoshop eventually.
I tried to open the same same pictures on another computer with the same version of Bridge and Photoshop but the problem remains the same.
It seems like the files itselves are still ok, because if you open an explorer window the previews of the pictures are all ok. And the pictures' sizes remain the same.
I tried to clear the cache in both programs but it didn't help.

Photoshop: Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop. If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be VERY quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your established preferences, which will lead to them all being set to defaults.
Bridge: Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.
Outdated graphics drivers can also cause display problems. Go to your GPU maker's website and be sure you have the latest drivers for your card model. -

Could have to do with home sharing. Try turining off and then back on home sharing on your AppleTV.

It seems that there might be some gremlin in the licensing module. The PS CS4 board has several similar instances. I do not know exactly what the problem is, but this should be an easy reset by Adobe. It has worked for the PS users and requires one free telephone call. I am with Harm on this. I doubt that many, if any, users can be of much help. The installation issues *used* to be simple and quick, but I have not had to make that call, since Illustrator 3. Have your S/N handy. If you purchased from the Adobe Store, a receipt # might come in handy too. Once your product has been verified, you'll probably be asked to enter a key, and away you go.

My time capsule suddenly stopped recognizing my computers.
My time capsule suddenly stopped recognizing both my mac book and my mac pro. It used to work fine and now every time I log into a computer I can't back up (and the time capsule has a green light). I have tried resetting time capsule but no success (maybe I am doing it wrong. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
So I have had the same problem, try this fix for Airport Extreme/Time Capsule .
Airport Utility > Select the Extreme/Time Capsule in question > Disks > Disconnect All Users
Reboot the Extreme/Time Capsule in question > once back online > goto Finder > Shared > Reconnect Drive
> Open Time Machine Preferences > Select Disk > Use Backup disk > Backup Now
