Photoshop CS5.1 closes when making a gif

Question

So I just started making gifs and I do the whole import and make sure the extendion is the right one, it opens without a problem and then after I choose the frames which is around 10 or even less and click in okay it tells me that it found a problem and that the windows will close the program. I have windows 8.1 and the CS5 I'm using the x32 since the 64 doesn't let me import videos. I have removed and installed again like four times and still find the same problem. Let's me pick the frames but the moment that I click in ok it says that a problem was found and that the windows is going to close the program. Gives no error or anything.
Can please someone help me?

I did what you suggested but didn't found anything even closer to what I'm having trouble with. I run the 32bit because the 64 doesn't even open video files. And the only problem that I find is after choosing the frames and when is supposed to be passing them to the layers it just says a problem happened and is going to shut the program.
Paid close attention to what you suggested and even checked the troubleshoot link but nothing that is close to what I'm expericing
