Photoshop cs5.5 - loaded on windows 8 - way too small! top and side
Hi,
I just loaded CS5 (and 5.5 updates) onto my windows 8 microsoft surface pro 3 computer.
the top and sides are soooo small you can't even read it.
I mainly use photoshop; but I loaded the entire web premium set of dvd's.
is there anything I can do?

No, I'm on the Cloud now. I've owned Photoshop 5 (1998), 6, 7 CS CS2 CS3 CS4 CS6 CC and now CC 2014.
Just went from Windows to Mac.
Photoshop Elements is a permanent license. You buy it, you keep it. Elements has its' own forum where those who know the program will answer your question.
Anyway thanks for the "correct". You only give it out if anyone settles your questions and you need no further discussion. It closes the case.

Is there a way to install just the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?
I have a custom built Java 6 application that doesn't like Photoshop CS5 64 bit edition. The program copies over a file from the network to the local machine and then opens it in Photoshop. The user manipulates the image and saves the changes. The user then completes the image and the application copies the image back to the server. The problem we're having is: When we use Photoshop CS5 64-bit, it takes about 2 minutes for Photoshop to open the image. The file is copied over within 2 seconds and the Photoshop icon on the windows taskbar starts flashing. But then you spend a few minutes waiting for it to open.
Some things that I have tried to isolate the problem:
- I found you can copy the file somewhere else, double click on it and the image will open in Photoshop before the script is able to open the file.
- I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling just the 64 bit edition without the 32 bit installation. The script just stops working in this situation.
- I tried uninstalling CS5 and installing CS3. The image opens as soon as the file is copied over.
What I would like to try next is to install just the CS5 32 bit version. But the installer is being uncooperative and will only allow either the 64 bit version or both the 64 and 32 bit versions. So, back to my question: Is there a way to install just the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine?Do you mean schroot? If so I'm not sure exactly how well that will work out, because the part that depends on python is a deamon that handles communication between the USB dongle and the Tux Droid which may mean hacking the deamon a bit so ether way this does not seem like it will be a easy task.

Hallo...nach langer Sucherei bin ich jetzt hier gelandet. Ich hoffe doch, hier kann mir jemand helfen. Nach Jahren steht mal wieder der Neukauf eines Rechners an. Meine Frage ist: Kann ich Photoshop CS5 Extended unter Windows 8 installieren? Ich habe das ganze Netz durchsucht und nichts gefunden, was mich zufrieden stellt. Der eine sagt ja, der andere sagt nein. Ich denke, unter Windows 7 läuft PS CS5. Würde mich freuen, wenn ich eine positive Antwort bekäme.

Transfer Photoshop CS5 license from Windows to Mac OSX
Hello,
I have a Photoshop CS5 license for Windows which I used for the past 4 years, but recently I've switched to Mac OSX and I need to transfer my license. I understand that it is an old version so...
Is it still possible or do I need to upgrade to CS6 first ? I don't wan't the CC version.

@I run a Windows 8.1 - Photoshop CS5 under Parallels on an iMac one year old and both having the latest OS. I use a NIK plugin "VIVEZA" which run fine for years without a problem. Latelt and without a reason, the NIK plugin has gone corrupt, (can not use it more the 2 corrections after a get a black background message that there is not enough memory) and the system stops running and a must restart is required. How do I fix this terrible problem?
If it requires a Photoshop CS5 re-install, (I belief that it may fix the problem) and re-install the two third party plugins (NIK Viveza) and (Onone Perfect Resize) how and where do I get to the proper Adobe upload page to do that.
I have tried to fix this problem by changing the memory allocations, I have spend many hours on it and are very disgusted with it but it needs to be fixed. The current memory settings are;
Ram available = 1588 MB
Range = 873 -1143 MB
Recommended Photoshop usage range = 857 however I have tried every setting to max and in between. Nothing works. Current setting = 1588 (max)
The Photoshop I use is registered, I have product # and order # .Contact NIK for updated/upgraded versions of their plug-ins. They have been having a lot of issues with their plug-ins.

Is Photoshop CS5 compatible with Windows 8?
My computer died and I have to buy a new one which will probably come with Windows 8. Is Photoshop CS5 compatible with Windows 8? I can't seem to find a straight answer.
It is not officially supported as the OS was not available with CS5 was written. It will work on it however.
From what I have read Win 8 is a step down from Win 7 from a purely operational view. It also has an annoying problem with the screen blinking with many of the video cards. So see if you really like the features of Win8 before committing. Win7 should still be available but you would have to make it a special request. -
Can't unistall trial version of Photoshop CS5 extended in Windows 7
My trial version of photoshop cs5 extended has expired. I would like to unistall it. When I go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, both photoshop and bridge do not appear in the window. How do I unistall these programs?
I did go to programs and features, it is not appearing in add/remove
programs. I do have registry booster and it runs about once a month.

I purchased Photoshop CS5 for my windows vista operating system. I purchased a canon 7 D some yrs ago no problem. I purchased canon 7D mk 11 in December 2014. The supplied software will not work with vista. Photoshop CS5 will not accept canon7D mk11. Can someone please tell me how i process canon 7D mk11 photos ?????. (is it possible to bypass camera raw and open the photo straight into CS5 without using camera raw first. if so how do i do that. if not how do i process pictures).

Brian in the UK.Photoshop by itself cannot process raw image data. That is why the Camera Raw plug-in was developed. You could try the DNG converter and convert your images to the DNG format and then the Camera Raw that you have would be able to open them. I can't recommend Lightroom because you are using Vista, and Lightroom 5 cannot be used with that operating system. It may be time for you to get a new computer and upgrade your software.

Nothing wrong with leaving CS5 installed and having both available to you.
You can still run CS5 if you have Cloud versions installed.
Bottom-line: it's up to you. -

Unfortunately, no. the CS programs are platform specific. You have three options. Upgrade to CS6 and request a platform swap, in which case you will give up the Windows serial number. Second, you could buy a second serial number for Mac outright. Third, you can buy the subscription to Photoshop CC, which can be used on both Windows and Macintosh..

Font in Menu Bar and Drop Down list way too small
I just tried PSE 10 and was very surprised to see that Adobe did not address the problem with the font size being way too small in the menu bar and drop down list. I cannot possibly read the font - so the program is basically unusable. I am using a new 17inch laptop. Is it possible that after all the complaints Adobe didn't fix this problem in PSE 10? Are they even working on it? I love the program but unfortunately I am going to have to switch to something else because there is no way I can read the font and thus cannot use the program at all. Very, very disappointing. Hopefully they are working on a fix???
Photoshop CS5 Essential has preferences that offer users the opportunity to adjust menu bar background color as well as font size. For example,

If you find that Photoshop's interface text is a little too small for comfort, you can increase its size by changing the UI Font Size option to either Medium or Large. And no, this option isn't just for old folks with poor eye sight. Working on a very high resolution monitor can make Photoshop's interface text appear very small. Personally, I like to set my font size to Large which I find helps to avoid eye strain. You'll need to close and then re-open Photoshop for the change to take effect:
Change the font size to increase some of the text in Photoshop's interface.

Anyone know of a way to adjust the top and side MARGINS of a document printed from iOS numbers? The default margins are too wide. Need more working space.
Open the document,
Tap the Tools icon (upper right).
Tap Document Set up.
Drag the margins to the position you wish (the actual margin width sould display as you are doing this). -
Icons and toolbar text is way too small and hard to read (kind of fuzzy)
The toolbars (menu bars) at the top of the screen have letters and icons and symbols that are way too small to read. Also the background color options are limited. Light black on grey is hard to read. I have tried customizing all that I can. There used to be a thing in control panel called display, and we could pick all sorts of fonts and colors for all those toolbar strips. Where did that go? I am VERY FRUSTRATED!!
I've tried those, and have just decided to go back to 3.6. Firefox just seems to have too much input lately trying to tweak and adjust. Meanwhile, the later versions just end up looking worse and worse with each iteration. Icons too small, monochromatic tool bar, making icons harder to distinguish, and, worst of all, frequent crashes.
Perhaps some of these problems are because I'm using XP, but I've noticed many if not all of the appearance deficiencies with my laptop running Win7. Probably the most annoying thing about later versions, though, is the inability to set memory time for history. This alone is a deal breaker for me, and ultimately, as IE has gotten better, I may just go back there. -
Just downloaded ios7 on my iPad2. Hate that I cannot see the items in my calendar. The letters are way too small and are grey in color. I need the fonts to be dark and very defined...I have health issues-poor vision.
Settings>General>Accessibility>Increase Contrast
Settings>General>Accessibility>Bold Text
are some settings that may help.
There are other settings there ...they may not be to your liking but try them all anyways.
