Photoshop cs5 folder inside cs6 installation?

should there be an adobe photoshop cs5 folder when i've only installed cs6 master colelction? clean installation, no previous installs. when i try to launch the photoshop.exe in the cs5 folder, i receive an error. i'm assuming this is part of a normal master collection cs6 installation?
if not, is it safe to remove the folder, as there is no uninstallation entry available for photoshop cs5.

I can say with authority that with the Photoshop CS6 standalone installation on a Windows system there is no folder with "CS5" in the folder name installed (I just did a search on a test system). I don't know about whether such a thing may be a result of the Master Collection install, unfortunately.
Did you ever install a Photoshop CS5 trial at some point?
Is the Modification date on the directory consistent with the time you installed the Master Collection?

It is safer to remove it before installing CS6. There can be some shared elements and/or settings that might be compromised if you install CS6 while CS5 is installed and then remove CS5.

Likely Cost to Upgrade from Photoshop CS5 Basic to CS6 Extended?

I know an exact answer to this question is not available yet, but I would like to get a feel for what to expect when CS6 is released. I currently have Photoshop CS5 Basic. I would like to upgrade it to CS6 Extended when CS6 is released. Am I going to have to start all over as a brand new owner?

RAM Problem: Adobe Photoshop CS5 vs. CS6

Hello,
I have a PSD with the size of 344 MB.
When I open it with Photoshop CS5, it take 1,38 GB from the RAM.
When I do the same with Photoshop CS6, it take 5,26 GB from the RAM.
Then CS6 works very slowly and I can forget to do anything with it.
I have a notebook with this technical data:
Intel Core i7 2Ghz
8 GB Ram
AMD Radeon HD 6850M 4GB
1000 GB HDD
The settings for performance of both Photoshop are the same.
Where is the problem?

For different reasons i would like to keep Photoshop CS5 AND install Photoshop CS6.
I heard someone say you have to remove CS5 first. Ouch. Just got it tweaked the way I want...
Or is it possible to install Photoshop CS6 and also keep Photoshop CS5 along with the CS5 Creative Suite Master Collection?
(My problem is a really a write-error while trying to save for web in Photoshop CS5. I´ve tried all kinds of solutions from the Adobe forum and other places without luck. Last things I did was to make a new admin account and test it. That worked. Also I tried uninstalling Photoshop CS4 (where save for web acctually worked on my real user account). Still no luck. So now im left with the choice of reinstalling CS4 or installing CS6 to get the save for web dialog working again)

How do I go about doing this and what is the cost? I don't want any of this monthly plan nonsense I've seen floating around and tech support for Adobe is terrible. They keep putting me in a loop of questions online that don't answer anything and then tell me to go ask other people on forums. Why can't they have the kind of support Godaddy has? If CS6 does not work why would you think CS5 would?
Adobe does not sell CS5 any longer. May be able to buy from various venders. Be careful of counterfeit copies.

My base full version is CS4. Bought CS5 upgrade in 2013 and would like to upgrade to CS6.
Is this possible?
Could be that only the full version of CS5 (i.e. being the 'base'-version) can be upgraded..?

Well those trial versions only last for 30 days. They are totally irrelevant to this discussion. They would have done you absolutely no good for anything.
As I wrote above:
ALL Adobe upgrades are FULL INSTALLERS. They do not need to find a previous version installed at all. If they don't, they will simply prompt you for the old serial number of the qualifying version and the new one.
Your prior versions remain untouched, totally ignored when you install the upgrade.

I try to make a document and save but it crashes sometimes it can't even get into save for web.
I reinstalled both but the problem never goes away I deleted prefs I don't have any plugins what could the problem be?
