I was having gpu accelataration enabled about week ago photoshop gave error that i need to update driver now after updating error it is not detecting my gfx card. According to me it gave error after going some update that was asked by adobe updater after that i was giving error by photoshop. I am running windows 7 64 bit and also adobe photoshops is 64 bit.
I have a dual core intel processor with 4 gigs of ram and 1 gigs of ATI Radeon 4650 HD gfx card.

Try this:  Go to ATI's web site and download and install the latest Catalyst driver release, 11.5.

I'm running that version with Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 on Windows 7 x64 and it provides acceleration with my Radeon HD 5670.

  • Photoshop CS5 - Issues with 3D Text and Reppouse

Recently, I downloaded Photoshop CS5. Whenever I try to transform normal text into 3D with the Reppouse feature, I this error:
"Your 3D scene now exceeds the limits of lights and/or textures for the video card's hardware-accelerated 3D Rendering. As long as the limits are exceeding, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (e.g. Reppouse) will be disabled."
If anyone has tips or advice on this problem, please fill me in because I will be gradly appreciate it. Thank you.

    1. Yes, many Laptops  that have onboard video chipsets are not good enough.
    2. Yes, your card does support some OpenGL and in this case this error reveals your card  does not support the 2 default Lights that are generated whn creating a Repousse mesh.
    3. Repousse requires OpenGL, other 3d functionality dos not require OpenGL

  • Photoshop CS5 issues with..everything

I recently posted a specific question, but it looks like there are more issues then just the original.
Basically, I will be using the clone tool and all of a sudden I cannot change the brush size with my wacom tablet. I have to quit and restart Photoshop for it to work.
If I don't restart it and ignore my wacom tablet, I can not use quick selection keys such as undo. The clone stampe tool won't show the overlay (and yes everything is checked.)
I reinstalled PS CS5 and it was better for a couple days, but now I am running into the same issues.
Thoughts? Who would I even contact for this? It's not a wacom issue and I haven't made any software updates for my MAC recently.
All Adobe producs are up to date.

On and off through history these kinds of problems have been seen (I've seen them myself from time to time).
While it's near impossible to tell what's really gone wrong, VERY often the problems are solved by getting new drivers or system updates that correct the infrastructure on which Photoshop relies.
OpenGL drivers have traditionally been buggy, and certainly we've heard of problems with Wacom tablet drivers.  There is also the real possibility that a 3rd party plug-in is at fault.
Thing is, bugs in any of this software can cause corruption in Photoshop's extensive set of RAM-resident data while it's running, which can lead to trouble seen MUCH later than when the problem originally occured - for example your failure to quit bug.
I can only advise checking for system updates, plug-in updates, and driver updates.
I know that in some cases in the past, actually using an older version of a driver (thinking of Wacom, for example) has been advisable.
Keep the faith, it can work right.

  • Photoshop CS5 issue with Mac OSX 10.9.4

    I recently bought a 27inch iMac, and booted it up using a time machine back up of my old MacBook Pro (that also ran OSX 10.9.4). Once things were running on my iMac, I tried opening up Photoshop, and this window popped up;
    When I closed Photoshop this window popped up;
I did go through all Photoshop files in my finder (both in the App folder and the Library preferences), and changed the permissions, but the issue is still happening, plus other random ones. For example, I can't open a psd file right away. The first window will pop up when Photoshop is booting up, and then nothing happens. I then have to open the psd file again for it to come up. Another example; changes to my workspace don't stay when I reopen Photoshop. Lastly some of the drop down menus won't work when I click them. I have to click the photoshop icon down on my dock, and then the menu will appear.
All my other Adobe products are working just fine. I would want to reinstall Photoshop, but I don't know how to do that when the iMac doesn't have a disc drive. Also my old MacBook Pro can't connect to the new computer in order to use it's disk drive.
Is there a fix for this issue, or do I need to reinstall Photoshop again? If so, how? Thanks in advance!

As the error says - you need to fix the permissions on your preferences folder, and it sounds like you may be missing part of the Application Support folders or have a permissions problem there as well.
It sounds like something weird happened to your system that messed up permissions -- we see that happen often when people try to use Apple's migrate utilities between systems or disks (it doesn't copy everything, and messes up permissions).  Fixing permissions with Disk Utility can help, but you may need to reinstall Photoshop to replace missing files/folders, and you'll still have to fix the permissions on your preferences folder.

  • Using Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended with MacBook Pro Retina

I intend to buy the new MacBook Pro with retina display. Does anyone know if I will be able to use Photoshop CS5 Extended with it? I could upgrade to CS6 but it seems an unnecessary cost given that I am still quite happy with CS5.

CS5 does not offer Retina quality display - in fact, it looks awful. The current version of CS6 was updated to work with Retina display models (you'll need to check with Adobe to see what the current version of CS6 is... I know they haven't 'abandoned' it, but I subscribe to CC so I'm on CC 2014).
    Good luck,

  • Is adobe photoshop CS5 compatible with Mountian Lion on the 2013 iMac?

Is adobe photoshop CS5 compatible with Mountian Lion and Maverick on the 2013 iMac?

Hello, I run it at home without problem. In fact, even the next version of OS X works ok: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/mac-os-mavericks-compatability.html

  • Is Photoshop CS5 compatible with Windows 8?

My computer died and I have to buy a new one which will probably come with Windows 8. Is Photoshop CS5 compatible with Windows 8? I can't seem to find a straight answer.

It is not officially supported as the OS was not available with CS5 was written.  It will work on it however.
From what I have read Win 8 is a step down from Win 7 from a purely operational view.  It also has an annoying problem with the screen blinking with many of the video cards.  So see if you really like the features of Win8 before committing.  Win7 should still be available but you would have to make it a special request.

  • Will photoshop CS5 work with Lion

I need to get a new photoshop, mine is out of date. Will Photoshop CS5 work with OS 10.7.2? Adobe doesn't include 10.7.2 in their tech specs.

I have it and it runs fine on Lion.

Currently using Photoshop CS5, but with a replacement computer and upgrade to Yosemite, keep being told I need to install the legacy Java 6. Currently, Photoshop won't even open. I absolutely do not want to subscribe, don't want to mess with the cloud, just want to buy an upgrade to something that will run for a while longer. I don't care about Lightroom, Bridge, Illustrator, etc.; most of those I've deleted over the years. But I do use Photoshop - or would if it would still run. What options do I have?

This is the java you need for photoshop cs5 to work on mac os x 10.10 Yosemite
    https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US
It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.
You can download photoshop cs5 from here if you don't already have the install media.

  • Can I make Photoshop CS5 work with a 6 year old onboard GPU?

Recently, my graphics card stopped working, so I've been forced to use an onboard GPU until I can get the money to buy a new one. The problem though, is that the onboard GPU is VERY old (approximately 6 or so years), and every time I try to save something in photoshop CS5, the program crashes without even giving me an error message. Is there some way I can change the settings in CS5 to make it work? The GPU options in the preferences tab is already grayed out and has OpenGL automatically disabled, but I'm still having problems.

That's probably utterly unrelated to Photoshop. In so many words: The driver from your dedicated graphics card has left remnants and configuration information and Windows itself is trying to use it when drawing fiel dialogs etc.. Short of reinstalling the operating system from scratch it's probably nothing that can be fixed fully, but feel free to check your device manager and registry for that info. Though, really, in that 5 hours it would take you could just as well do that OS reinstall...

  • Is Adobe Photoshop CS5 compatible with Mountain Lion?

I'm interested in getting a new laptop but like using Photoshop CS5.  Are there any compatibility issues using CS5 with Mountain Lion?

Generally, users are having no problems with it in ML. Technically, Adobe support CS5.5, 6 and CC in ML, but a lot of folks are running even CS3 in ML.

  • Compatibility of photoshop cs5.1 with yosemite

Is anyone else having an issue opening Adobe Photoshop cs5.1 in Yosemite.  I keep on getting this message and then it quits.
I have had not problems before with it.  I have tried to find any updates or comments on Adobe's website but there is nothing as yet.

You need to reinstall Photoshop CS5 to replace files damaged by the MacOS 10.10 updater.
Adobe is working with Apple to determine all the damaged files and come up with a quicker/easier solution - but reinstalling works for now.

  • Photoshop CS5 Issue - Very Annoying

    Hello all,
I'm having a very weird (and needless to say, very annoying) issue with my Photoshop CS5 Extended. Any knowledge or help would be highly appreciated. FYI - I'm photographer so my primary use is image editing.
Basically, every time I make a change to a layer (apply a filter or change blending modes), Photoshop does not reflect those changes unless I hit Ctrl+S to save or perform another action (such as selecting a different tool from the tool-set). For example, consider this scenario:
    - I open a PSD file that only contains a background layer.
    - I duplicate the background layer
    - I change the blending mode to "Multiply"
    - Nothing happens to the image (no visual changes even though the image should have gotten darker)
    - Now if I hit Ctrl+S to save the document, the screen is refreshed and now I see the changes.
I have no idea what might be causing this. I have the latest 12.0.1 patch installed. I have gone through my preferences to see if something needs to be checked but to no avail.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    FYI - I'm running this on Windows 7 - 64-bit
    Thanks
    -ali

That can be a good workaround, but be aware that some things won't work...  For example, you won't be able to see a preview of your brush hardness using the Alt-right mouse button brush gestures.  And of course zoom won't be smooth, and pans won't flip with inertia (big whoop).  If you have Extended you may not find the 3D features as usable.
What I'd do if I were you is do some searches for people using your specific video card and see if any of them have found any older drivers that work better.  Then bug nVidia to fix their drivers.
Alternatively, a really fine video card with huge speed and memory can be had nowadays for a hundred bucks.
