Photoshop CS5 on MacOS 10.10.1 needs Java SE6

How do I get Photoshop CS 5 to run on Mac OS 10.10.1? I get a message in needs Java SE6 Runtime. I have updated to Java 8 since that is what is on the Java website

Download the exact version Apple tells you to download, or else Apple's warning dialog won't go away.
Then reinstall Photoshop CS5 to repair the files damaged by the MacOS 10.10 installer.

Have you added any Photoshop Add-on that uses an external JavaScript. Photoshop itself has is own ScriptingSupport Plug-in and does not use an external java. Also Java SE6 is old and has security issues you should update to version SE8

I have just installed Yosemite onto my iMac. When I try to open Photoshop CS5 I get a message that I need to download JavaSE6. When I click onto the get more information tab the screen goes blank.

I moved to a new state for graduate school and left many of my things back home, including the Photoshop CS5 disc. I have the serial code on me, but I need to install the program again, and fast. How can I do this without the disc?

Enter key disabled when Photoshop CS5 extended open on pc. Need help.

Photoshop CS5 64 bit is disabling the enter on my keyboard and it affects every app, not just PS. For instance I can't write an email while PS is open because I can't use returns. I can't use the crop tool in PS because hitting enter does nothing. I don't know if any other keys are being disabled by PS. Closing PS always fixes the problem. PS 64 bit is installed on my new pc. My old one (now broken) used the 32 bit version and was fine. Can anyone help?

I recall hearing about a problem like that with an older third party plugin.
But Photoshop itself couldn't cause that.
Have you tried disabling your third party plugins in Photoshop?

There is a Java update for Yosemite that includes what you need.

I get this error everytime I try to launch Photshop CS5. The startup screen appears but it stops at "Starting Plugins... Scripting support", then it gives that message^(along with don't send and send error report, of course).
Specs:
XP Pro SP3
E6750 dual core cpu(has 64bit support)
nVidia GeForce 9500gt 1gb
3gb ddr2 ram

Open you Event Log and see what the defaulting module is. It could be PS, drivers, conflicting program, corrupted load of program, or any number of things.

I just bought a new computer with an Intal QuadCore, 8 Gb of memory and Windows 7 - 64 bits edition
I plan to upgrade from a former Photoshop CS3 onWindows XP and it was a 32 bits edition
Is the Photoshop CS5 supported on BOTH Win 7 32 AND 64 bits ? Or are they different versions ?
I plan to either have a dual boot Win 7 32 Bits -    Win 7 64 bits or separate hard disk on racks, so I'll still be able to use 32 bits softwazre that don't run on 64bits
But if PhotoShop CS5 comes in 2 versions, I need to decide which one I should buy

Windows 7 x64 is a separate build from Windows 7 32 bit. Windows 7 Ultimate comes with BOTH.
There isn't a separate package of Photoshop CS5 for 32 bit or 64 bit. Photoshop (since CS4) installs both 32 bit and 64 bit software on a 64 bit Windows system, or only 32 bit software on a 32 bit Windows system.
Photoshop CS5 is fine with every variant of Windows 7.
Photoshop CS5 is reportedly fine with modern AMD processors, though I have only used Intel.

My own (personal, subjective) opinion is that ATI (AMD) video interfaces are better than nVidia.

It won't let me install Photoshop CS5.1 Extended Edition, but it says it has

I bought the student edition of Photoshop CS5.1 online maybe a month ago and I still can't actually use the program. I run the intstallation program and it notes that it has already been installed because I've been through this quite a few times but I continue with the installation anyway. When it's done loading it gives me a thany you message that says intallation is complete. I press done, but when I access the file in applications, the image is transparent and has a don't enter sign through it. When I click that I get a message that says "You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 because it may be damaged or incomplete."
To note: Mac OS X Version 10.7.2
I was using a free trial of photoshop CS5 in the beginning of summer

You need to remove the trial prior to installing the purchased version. You can find the uninstaller inside the Utilities folder and Adobe Installers. Remove the software and then try your installation again.

Photoshop CS5 closes when selecting "File-Automate-Batch"

I am using Adobe Photoshop CS5 (v12.0.4 x32) under Windows XP Pro SP3. When I select “File-Automate-Batch”, a window pops up saying:
Adobe Photoshop CS5 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The choices to continue are “Send Error Report” or “Don’t Send” but with either selection, Photoshop closes. This happens even with no images open.
What do I need to do to fix this problem?

From reading the different posts about this problem, the answer seems to be removing the Twain plugin resolves the issue
or possibly updating your scanner drivers. Have you installed the optional Twain plugin into photoshop cs5?

i checked the event viewer this is what it says:

Application Manager prompt while trying to open Photoshop CS5 Extended

For some reason it doesn't see my serial number. So I installed Adobe Application Manager and it opens Photoshop in trial mode asking to enter my serial number or start a 30-day trial. I don't have my CD or box any more. Is my serial number stored anywhere on my computer (Windows 7, 64-bit)?
I haven't been reinstalling Photoshop. It has been running fine and this issue started to happen suddenly.

Did you register it? Then you can log into your account and retrieve it there.
The serial number to license the software is what you pay for. Always keep serial numbers in a safe place with backups.
