I've tried restarting, uninstalling everything Adobe, turning off my firewall and windows defender, disabling all my startup items, and running as administrator.
I've run out of ideas on how to fix this.
If someone has some advice I'd really appreciate it.

The ScriptingSupport.8li that comes with Photoshop CS5.1 should have the module version 12.1.0.0 as well.
It sounds as if you have done something where you have mixed modules from an older version of Photoshop (CS3) into those that Photoshop CS5 is enumerating during startup.
Did you, by chance, copy the entire contents of a folder (e.g. plug-ins or scripts) and get extra files you didn't intend?
Have you set an Extra plug-ins folder up to point to the plug-ins for an earlier version of Photoshop?
Mixing up versions of Photoshop is a no-no.
You may want to start by clearing your Photoshop preferences... Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediate after cold-starting Photoshop. If you're quick enough, and you have to be VERY quick to get the keys down, it will prompt you to confirm deletion of the preferences it already has set up, which will then cause it to use defaults.

Problem installing cs5.5 - exit code 6

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install cs5.5 web premium (upgrade) on windows xp sp3 but have some trouble.
Every program of the suite install right but not acrobat. At the end of installation I receive the error below.
I try to solve reinstalling and follow this article without success:

That is all what I can establish from first glance, are you trying to install 64bit software on 32 bit machine??

MC CS5.5 - Exit Code 6 but it still works ...

I've had three attempts to install my Master Collection CS5.5 upgrade now - Windows 7 SP1. The first time I realised I left Kaspersky AV running - MC installed but I got an Exit Code 6, uninstalled, then reinstalled with KAV paused - Exit Code 6 again. Then I tried installing in the minimised state - same again though, installed but got an Exit Code 6.

One error seems to relate to the Flash Player plugin, but the vast majority are Adobe Encore CS5.1 Library 5.1.0.0 and are 'ERROR: DS012: LocalizeFile:Localized string not found for locale 'en_GB' and then different bracketed numbers after each.
I have launched and run each application ... not used it as such, but launched and messed about a bit ... superficially they seem to be working.
So the question is, do I ignore these errors and keep uninstalling and reinstalling with whatever things disabled, or do I take the view that if it looks like it's working, it probably is?
This is a new install of Win 7 on a new drive, and other than Lightwave, the MC is the only thing I have installed ... well, and Kasperksy AV 2012.
I've read some other threads and articles on this, and the Adobe help docs from as recently as June this year, so clearly there are problems.
I'm posting the log file, but omitting most of the locale 'en_GB' errors to reduce the length of it.
I'm also uncertain if the log is reporting that the Windows Installer is not working properly - Error 1722 - though again that appears to be the Flash Player plugin problem.

It seems that the Flash Player being preinstalled is the cause of all these errors, in this case, but that they are all actually erroneous ... is that correct?
Because if so, I'm not seeing that on the main FAQ for installer issues for the Creative Suites, although in fairness, there are doubtless many, many other errors that are genuine.

I am having similar problems - cannot export a video made w/ iOS7 on iPhone 5 and imported into iPhoto.latest and it refuses to export the video "cannot prepare video for export..." message.....I have completely re-built the iPhoto database with the latest tools, made a backup copy and am unable to extract this video from the original or the backup copy. The only way I can get videos off my phone is to post them as part of my PhotoStream, which is limited to 5min of video (of which the one I want to post is 7.5min)...can someone at Apple please address this?

Adobe Air Installation Problem Exit Code 7

I know this issue has been posted before but the solutions in those discussions (Windows Installer Cleanup or Microsoft FixIt Uninstall-Install) do not work. I am in an Enterprise environment and need to get Air updated on all of our computers.

Looking at the event viewer Windows Logs/Application log, a registry key cannot be accessed during the install of 16.x . If I am able to set permissions on that key another registry cannot be accessed which halts the installation. I have been through several keys already and it just continues, another registry key cannot be accessed. "Unable to display current owner" and Access Denied when you try to set the owner. Is this a problem caused by Microsoft or Adobe? This is occurring running either under administrator or an account in the administrator's group.

I am using Adobe lightroom 3.0.64 to process RAW photos from my Canon Camera. Then I touch up the pictures in Photoshop CS5. I have been working on some snooted background shots recently and I am experiencing a problem when I edit the photos in photoshop. It appears to be some of kind artifacting or distortion particularly noticeable if using graduated lighting. Looking on the web I have come across references to "banding". I am not sure if this is the problem I am experiencing, but I would appreciate it if someone could take a look.
Either way any help on how to get rid of this issue "post" picture taken would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried duplicating a layer/Blurring it and then using masks to bring out the main focus of the picture. This doesnt seem to work very well and just makes the banding look more noticeable.

There's no easy answer, but in general unless your monitor is actually displaying the sRGB color space accurately I'd say it's not generally a good idea to throw out a display profile that brings your particular monitor into proper calibration.
If you want your document products - i.e., that which you publish or print - to hide the posterization, then I suggest making sure Dithering is enabled in your color preferences. That way when the conversion of the document profile to sRGB occurs, the gradients will look smooth.
Today's monitors are good enough that you can easily see 256 different shades of gray. The posterization you're seeing may well be because of that - OR - you may be experiencing the problem I reported in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3473424
Try going into Edit - Preferences - Performance, [Advanced] and changing your OpenGL mode in Photoshop to Basic, then restarting Photoshop. Does that help make your rose image look better on your monitor?

Installing adobe CS5 Fireworks, Exit Code 7?

Hi there,
So I just recently tried to open my copy of Fireworks (never used it before) and it gave me an error saying something about the parameters not working, so I decided to install and reinstall. Unluckily, my computer is now giving me the error that says the following:

Printing in photoshop CS5 problem

IN photoshop CS5 when you select to print 8 copies of an image only one comes out of the printer...
worked fine with cs3 cs4
any input?

The problem is within CS5! Thats it. Windows 7, XP & Vista are all fine and dont need to be reinstalled. All printers work fine too. Everyone is going crazy trying to figure out this mess and spining there wheels over this.
This is the ONLY way to get multiple prints out of your CS5.
File>Print
Choose your printer (in this case I'm using an Epson 7800)
Print Settings>Page Layout>Copies> (choose qty) OK (you will notice that the copies box will now show the amount you just put in from the previous page.
Print>
That should work just fine. I have been doing this all week and have not had one issue.
PS shame on Adobe for not fixing that simple problem.

10.6 & Photoshop CS5 Problem

Am having an issue with Photoshop CS5. Getting a vague "there was a program error" message when trying to click anywhere with the text tool. The problem goes away in 'safe boot' mode... so I don't think it is CS5 prefs (which I have already tried trashing, to no avail). Switching to another user also fixes the problem, but I'd love to find the culprit, as I've had the issue on two machines now. Must be something in the background, but didn't see anything suspicious in Activity Monitor or Console. Any ideas how I can trace it down? Thanks!

FWIW, I just fixed this problem (I think) with the following:
Quit PS
Moved Stone Sans OS ITC TT out of the /Library/Fonts/ folder
Moved Stone Sans OS ITC TT out of the ~/Library/Fonts/ folder
Deleted ~/Library/Caches/Adobe folder
Restarted PS

Photoshop CS5 problem opening programme

I have just tried several times to open up Photoshop CS5 version on my Mac, but keep getting a request to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime, which I have now done
but every time I try to open photoshop again the same message keeps coming up and still the programme will not open
Have you any advice on how I can get around this problem?

After a computer re-image due to virus I need to re-install photoshop cs5. I downloaded from my adobe account and the installer runs but nothing. no error message no install. please help

Barb777 which operating system are you using? I would recommend you begin by using the available uninstallers and then run the CC Cleaner tool. 質問失礼します。
環境：Windows7 professional SP1 64bit
Adobe CS5.5 Web premiumを上記の環境にインストールしようとしているのですが、
Exit Code: 7のエラーが出てインストールがどうしてもできません。
実行済みの対処法：
「インストールに問題があります」エラーの対処方法（Creative Suite 5, 5.5）
Windows Installer の修復によるインストールトラブル対処方法（Windows）
上記に書かれている対処法は全て実行しました。
以前他の方が使用していたものなので、
ライセンス解除ができていないためかと思い、
ライセンス譲渡の手続きを行い問題なく完了していますが（チャットサポートで確認済み）
この状態でも変わらずExit Code: 7が出てインストールに至りません。
何か、解決方法がありましたらご教授いただけませんでしょうか。

エラーについては、それこそ教えていただいたページと同様、
ERROR: - Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86: Install failed
など失敗したコンポーネントが羅列されています。
このエラー結果からサポートページを辿ってWindows インストーラーの修復を試みたものの、
変わらずエラーが出ている状態で。
外付けのドライブからはインストールできたという件、
私も以前読んで、まさか、とは思っていたんですが、
案外解決の糸口になるかもしれないですね。
外付けのドライブがすぐに手に入る環境に無いため、後日試してみます。（もしかしたら新しくCCを契約することになるかもしれませんが...）
