Photoshop CS5 strange brush jumping bug

Strange brush bug with Photoshop CS5 Extended English (Updated to 12.0.2 latest).
Youtube link of my screen recording
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxwUi35TMYo
When  I first start (quick) brushing on top right, the strokes appear at bottom  right.... No shape dynamics, no scattering, just plain soft round brush  in black. If I stroke slowly, the behavior is OK.
This is very frustrating and appears very often for me if stroke quickly, so I can't use smudge which is often done quickly.
Windows 7 (Simplified Chinese). Nvidia GTS 450 but OpenGL has been disabled. Graphic driver updated to latest. No brush scattering, no shape dynamics.
Please help, thanks in advance.

This subject shows up here from time to time.
Unfortunately, I don't recall reading about any specific fix that works.
Usually the advice is update video drivers, check all other software running on the system for possible interference, change wireless mouse batteries, try a wired mouse, completely remove mouse or tablet drivers and reinstall, make sure nothing is moving over an unused trackpad, etc.
Perhaps it would help if you listed your OS and what input device you're using.

  • Photoshop CS5.5 Brush Transfer / Opacity won't Disable

Now, I assure you, I have tried to disable this feature several times in a row, but as soon as I change the Opacity Jitter to "Off" and start painting, it turns on again.  I tried unchecking "Transfer" all together without any luck.  Even the brush preview on the pallet show opacity linked to pressure.  Attached is a picture of my pallet.
How do I fix this?  Can I submit this as a bug?
    Stats:
    Photoshop CS5.5 v12.1 x64 , Windows 7 x64, Cintiq 21UX  with 6.1.6-7 driver.

Make sure you don't have The override for brush opacity enabled in the tool options bar.

  • Photoshop CS5 Dual brushes

It seems that Photoshop CS5 doesn't display the dual brush that is selected when you select a brush from the libraries. It indicates there should be a dual brush by a tick but no brush tip is selected.
Am I missing something or is this just a bug that needs sorting out still?
    Thanks

    SSprengel's right.
What kind of video card do you have?  It's always a good idea to check the web site of the maker of your video card to see if they have released updated drivers.
I run Photoshop CS5 across two 1600 x 1200 monitors, by the way, without problems.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 brush scroll panel issue

    Hello everyone,
Since last week I've been getting problems with photoshop. The brush panel has problems with scrolling, I have tried to fix it by doing a system restore, downgrading my video drivers and reinstalling photoshop. I also have tried to search for other people with the same problems. Unfortunatly, nobody seems to deal with this issue. I am suspecting that it is a problem within windows that is preventing photoshop from working normally... But I am not sure.
I also recorded the problem and posted it on youtube, here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9LZgYjDGAI
    Now, onto discribing the problem:
When I open photoshop this problem occurs right away, however... one panel always will work properly, this tends to switch constantly... When I try to switch between the two panels they start showing problems...
It happens every time that I open photoshop, but there are times where somehow, they work normally. It is very rare though.
I also tried to try and use Photoshop CS5 x64bit, but it crashes the moment it finishes loading.
I am using an:  ASUS K73SV-TY081V notebook
OS:                     64-bit Windows 7 home premium
    Processor:           Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
    RAM:                   4 GB
Graphics Card:     Nvidia Geforce GT 540M
Is there anybody who deals or has dealt with the same or similar problems?

    Hello Noel,
Thank you for the help, It gave me an idea of how I could test it, so I switched the graphics to my omboard card and photoshop works fine now.
It is indeed the drivers of the Nvidia card, I tested the last two driver up-dates which didn't seem to work so I will keep looking.
Thank you again for the help!

  • Adobe Photoshop Cs5 Merge to HDR Bug 15' MacbookPro

    Hi,
When I use Merge to HDR Pro in photoshop CS5 on my 15 macbookpro I can't click 'ok' or 'cancel' as well as not being able to chose which photo I want to keep as a merge photo.
I saw some of the fixes but they didn't seem to work for me.
Any help would appreciated as I didn't expect this to be an issue for photoshop CS5.
    Thanks, Chris.

  • Clicking on Photoshop CS5 preset brushes closes down Photoshop. Help!

Whilst I am working in Photoshop, if I click on the preset brushes toggle or open the brushes and click on one of the preset brushes a message appears saying that there has been a problem with Photoshop and very promptly the application closes causing me to loose my work. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there an update or a 'bug-zapper' (my own technical term!) I can use?!  Thanks for your help.

Update your graphics driver and/or turn off OpenGl in the prefs.

  • HELP!! Photoshop CS5.1 Brush lag?!

Okay, I have been doing every fix I can possibly come across concerning this horrid lag...Whenever making long strokes with ANY textured brushes (where the "Textures" feature is in use via Brush Presets), I get a horrible, horrible lag when making long brush strokes...Any other brush is fine, as long as its not textured. I have turned off OpenGL, have updated PS to 12.1, using two scratch disks, etc etc. My computer is pretty beastly as I built it for high performance gaming (8 gigs RAM, Win7 Ultimate, SSD/HDD combo, Nvidia Geforce 560 TI, etc) so I am at a loss as to why I am experiencing this issue... I even tried rolling back my Wacom driver, but then I realized this doesn't matter since the lag still occurs when using a mouse as well. I could obviously un-tick the Textured feature, but that's not what I'm going for...Strangely enough, I never experienced this problem when I was working on CS5 on a Vista computer with much less fancy parts in it. Could it be an issue with Windows 7 or CS5.1...? If anyone was able to resolve this issue, please respond, it's very maddening to work this way...

Thank you so much for the response and that link...I did a few of the tests and found that the laggy brushes happen to only lag under certain circumstances. Such as, they only lag extremely at large canvas dimensions/resolutions, and if the texture being used is very "fine" and at a low scale. I don't know why I didn't think of that...seemed too simple a conclusion I suppose.

  • Photoshop CS5 Strange Lag--Delayed Response

Hello, Im having a peculiar problem with my Photoshop, it is lagging. But let me explain.
When I draw a line, I cannot see it.
However, if I draw a second line, I can now see the first, but not the second.
If I draw a third line, I can see the first and the second, but not the third.
Or sometimes I will see the line as I draw it.
But if I hit undo, nothing happens.
But if I draw a second line, the first will disappear.
I will decide to make layer 1 invisible. But I can still see it even though the visibility icon is off.
But if I zoom in or out, suddenly layer 1 is not visible.
It is not just a simple lag, because I can still operate, it's not frozen. But it also doesn't matter how long I wait, it won't catch up unless I take some form of action.
It seems like the program knows what is happening, and is recording it as such, but it isn't showing me.
I'm very sorry, I tried to look this up, but I couldn't seem to find the answer.
    Mac OSx 10.6.2
    Processor: 2x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel
    Memory: 12 GB

    >> Mac OSx 10.6.2
That's part of the problem - you should be on 10.6.8 to pick up a ton of bug fixes.
And if you meant 10.7.2, then you'll have to wait for Apple to fix the video card drivers.
In the meantime, you can try disabling OpenGL drawing to avoid problems in the video drivers.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Brushes Window UI Problem

Im using Vista 64 bit. Photoshop did not open for me, then Windows pops up a window saying it has adjusted my display settings and photoshop should work. • Photoshop CS5 export layer comps bug / issue

I'm experiencing a problem with CS5 that didn't happen in CS4. For some weird reason, when I use the export layer comps script, it won't let me choose a destination for the jpgs that is the macintosh HD. It will only work if I export to an external drive. The error message I get is 'destination does not exist'
I am on snow leopard and have repaired my permissions. For now I get around the problem by exporting to an external drive, but this seems like a weird issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    my setup is very easy,
    go > connect to server
choose the SMB share > connect
select the volumes that you want...
I had mounted the volume by placing it into my login startup but since the problem with PS I have removed this ( the good news is that this is how I was able to find this bug). Either way, via the login startup item or the method above creates the problem.
If you follow the link below to locate the user "speeves1" he has much more insight into the Windows thing than I do, I'm just a rule follower when it comes to networking windows computers.

    > I can't share specifics of what we have planned, but we are looking into these issues.
I understand you can't announce future things, no problem. Because of an earlier conversation about Adobe restricted to adding new features after the first quarter of a release, I was curious if the same rulings committee (FASB) has any guidelines for bug fixes. CS4 had one fix within the first quarter and the second patch came after the product cycle ended and CS5 shipped. In general is there any restriction to releasing patches/fixes after the first quarter?
    thanks.

  • Photoshop CS5 Bugs on MacBook Air Fixed in Mountain Lion

    Hey all,
I was pretty frustrated last November when I bought a new Macbook Air and experienced weird behavior in Photoshop CS5. Brushes would stop working. Tool icons would freak out. This was discussed at length on the boards, and Chris from Adobe said everyone at Adobe and Apple were aware of the issue due to video card incompatibilities (?) and Lion.
Happy to report that all that behavior has dissapeared with Photoshop CS5 running on Mountain Lion (beta v1). It works as it was meant to. Yeah!
Thought I would report back as all those threads have been locked for awhile.
    Bruce

Thanks to the USB hub, Now Huawei E303C Datacard is working all fine in my new MacBook Pro 13" i7 Mid 2012 model.
For experiment purpose, I purchased one USB 2.0 hub (Unknown Chinese model).
I connected Datacard to USB hub and USB hub to MacBook Pro USB port.
Hurray!! Datacard is detected by MacBook Pro.
So, the problem is with MacBook Pro's new USB ports (USB 2.0 and 3.0 integrated in a single port) and Huawei E303C Datacard.
It is a hardware support issue with Huawei E303C Datacard.
I hope this will solve your problem too.
    Enjoy

  • Photoshop cs 5 brushes

    hi there
after a reinstall due to computer mucking up, im having a strange action happen when i save my brushes.
when ever i save a brush instead of automatcially going to c:/program fils/adobe/photoshop cs5/presets/brushes ( etc...)
    they want to save in
    "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Brushes"
wich is NOT the right folder (as their are no brushes there- and if i save them their they dont load in photoshop next time its started) and i have to manualy go to program folder/adobe/ etc etc etc...
ahhh HELP! why are they saving in the wrong folder and how do i get them to save where they are meant to with out manually entering them

That is the correct folder for the default, and they will load the next time you launch if you save them there.
Basically, Microsoft no longer wants files written into the application folder, but wants them under your user data (USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/...), and only wants the applicaiton folder modifiable by the system administrator.
Yes, it's not very convenient, but that's how the Microsoft guidelines currently read.  (Apple is doing something similar, just without so much useful guidelines)

  • Photoshop CS5 opens and says "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working"

Hey guys.. I hit this problem tonight after trying for several hours to open Adobe PS CS5.
Photoshop worked earlier today and i have made no changes on my PC since running PS again.
    I am running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64bit
I have tried Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ALT to delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File with no success.
I have rebooted my computer several times.
    I have ran as administrator.
As far as I can tell it has something to do with KERNELBASE.dll
You guys are my last chance.. THANK !

We really appreciate, if anyone will give us some helpful advises. Many thanks !!

    Hi,
FWIW, I've never run into problems with anything by Adobe but that aside to get Adobe off your system you'll probably need to run Adobe's cleanscript.  You may also have to use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility. See below article.
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/uninstall-and-remove-adobe-cs3-cs4-and-cs5-with-adobe-cs5-cl eaner-tool/
Below are links to the tech pages that include instructions and links to the cleanscript. (They are probably both linked in the above article along with the Windows Installer cleanup utility.)
