Photoshop CS5 Windows Version: Extract filter missing

Hi!
I have the trial english version of this software.
From where EXACTLY can I download this addtional plugin? (And why is it not in the SW in the first place?)
Best regards
Bryan Hayes

You say that Refine Edge is "lightyears better than old defunct Extract.  Can you tell me how?
I had Windows PS7 before I bought this Mac CS5 and I used to get good results with the Extract Filter.  Now I'm trying to extract a girl's picture to put into a composite image.  I followed exactly the steps in Jan Kabili's video instruction [http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cs5/using-improved-selecting-and-masking/] and I got awful results.  Using "Smart Radius", sharp edges of the original selection became eroded several pixels back and both expanded selection and original selection turned gray wherever the refine radius tool was used.
Multiple passes with the "refine" tool seem to erase selected areas rather than increase them.
I noticed that another user had the same complaint in a mid May posting to the "where is extract filter?" thread.
I'd surely like to know how to make this thing work, because I have a three day deadline to get the project done.
Can you help?

  • Tool Palette issue after updating Photoshop CS5 to version 12.0.2.

When leaving or hovering the mouse cursor over the Tool Palette in Photoshop usually a small window appears to indicate the name of the tool and keyboard shortcut. However, after updating Photoshop CS5 to version 12.0.2 the small window shows but it is now a blank space. I have uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop CS5 and updated again and this problem persists. Now I wish that I should not have updated from version 12.0.1. Do any other Photoshop CS5 users are seeing this problem?
p.s The Tool-Stack window works fine, when clicking the mouse for a second, and tools are selectable.
The operating software I am using is Windows XP Pro 32 bit.

This is a known problem with the update, and Adobe is working on it.

  • Cherche mise à jour Photoshop CS5 windows

cherche mise à jour Photoshop CS5 windows pour ma CS2
    merci pour votre aide

If you're just looking for the downloads, try this:
Direct Download Links for Adobe Software
Otherwise things are as Mr. Pfaffenbichler said - there is no way for you to buy an official upgrade to CS5 at this point. And even if you can find someone willing to sell his version, this would require transfer of all the stuff, not just the upgrade package with a full license transfer.
    Transfer an Adobe product license
In light of all that trouble, you might just bite the bullet and get a proper new version of CS6.

  • Photoshop won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version.

    Hello,
I got a new camera and Photoshop and Lightroom won't open Raw images with my new Camera Canon 6D help! I use Photoshop CS5 extended version. and Lightroom 3

    Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3.

  • Why my photoshop cs5 extended version 12.0x64  and Os x 10.8.3 go to crash when try to print?

    Hi I need of help.
Why my Imac osx 10.8.3 , 3,2 GHz Intel Core i5 , when try to print whit photoshos cs5 extended version 12.0 x 64 , go to crash?
    Thanks.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Panel is not showing as an Extension in Photoshop CS5 (Windows 7 OS)

I'm attempting to create a panel using Configurator 2.0 (using Windows 7 OS) for Photoshop CS5, and can't get it to show at all in my Window>Extensions menu. I have ran the program as Administrator, and it gives me a successful save message, but once I try to export (which says it is successful as well) then reboot photoshop it doesn't show it at all. I have searched and searched to see what I have been doing wrong, but I can't get it to show. I've also tried installing it via Adobe Extension manager, but it says the file is missing. I simply have no idea how to fix it. Any advice here would be appreciated.

I too am having the exact same issue, I just started up a new win7 machine and have all new installs of my adobe software and tried to recreate the configurator panel I created in my Vista version and I can't get it to show.
    UPDATE:
I did get it to work by playing around with the extensions manager. I wish I could remember exaclty what I did but I think I basically dragged the folder that contained the extension file onto the ext man and then it said I couldn't do it because I wasn't administrator and asked me if I wanted to do it form the other user which was the computer name so I said yes and it worked. I don't know if this helps but I thought I'd let you know.

  • I cannot open an image in Photoshop CS5 (windows 7).

Try disabling OpenGL drawing in preferences.  If that works, it means you need to update your video card driver.
Also make sure you are running the latest version of Photoshop CS5 (12.0.1).

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5 (Windows 7) Lagging Brushes & Tools

    What I'm Using:
    - Toshiba F60 Qosmio Laptop w/ Windows 7
    - Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit)
    Hey Everyone,
I'm having an issue with my new Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit) installed on my Brand new Laptop (Toshiba F60 Qosmio). Basically I have optimized via the Edit > Preferences > Performance menu in Photoshop CS5 but Im still having major issues with my Brushes, Patch, etc. Tools lagging while using them. When you enable the tool and use it, it will be atleast 0.5 - 1.0 Seconds behind the movement of the cursor. My Laptop is brand new and fully optimized for graphic design and seems to run every other application seamless. Adobe Photoshop launches quick and smoothly but once using the tools it has the same lag time.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Its driving me nuts and really cutting into my work schedule.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Darren

    Hi Chris,
I will definitely give that a try. I had a tech set up my computer after i purchased it less than a week ago but it is a possibility that he missed it. I will try and run an update this weekend and see if that increases the speed when OpenGL is enabled. I will get back to you on the issue in the next few days.
Thanks for your insight and helpful suggestion.
    Much appreciated.

  • Photoshop CS5 trial version has stopped working.  Will the Full version do the same?

Once I try to open a file or create a new file in the trial version it stops working and Windows closes the program. I have read on the forum that others had this problem so I tried the solutions without luck.  A sales live chat guy tonight told me that the trial version will not allow a lot of the features and I should have  no problem with the full version.  Does anyone know if this is accurate?  That is a lot of money to spend for a full version to stop working when a file begins to open.

    Hi Iamrami,
You've posted in the forum for Photoshop.com (an  online service and product info portal).

  • How do I update camera raw 6.3 on Photoshop CS5 Windows?

I tried the help menu and updates but its not working. I have Nikon D7000 and I took pictures in RAW and they are NEF files that will not open in photoshop, hence the reason i am trying to update my camera raw plugin but I cant figure it out and ive contacting adobe 3 times with no luck. Help!

You will need to do a manual update of the ACR 6.7 plug-in, which is the last version that will run with CS5.
You'll need to download it from here (Windows version):
Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Camera Raw 6.7 Update
There are installation instructions on the download page, which you need to follow to the letter.
    Good luck1

  • OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Photoshop CS5 Windows file server save issue

After Lion to Mountain Lion upgrade.
Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current).
Once the error "could not save filename due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection.
All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.

We're in 2015 and this is still an issue with the latest updates from Apple. Any one confirm that the save to network storage problem in Photoshop is gone with the newest version of Photoshop Creative Cloud?
Here's what's happening in our shop as of May, 2015 with both AFP and SMB server connections:
We are using Photoshop CS 5.1, Version 12.1 x64. I believe this is the most up to date version of our CS5.1 software.
We are on OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.3.
When connected to the server via afp (in server log it says "AFP client")
Photoshop gives this error on a save after some changes are made to the file: "Could not save "file name" because write access was not granted." Then, as soon as you hit ok, the file is deleted from the server and is gone within a minute or so. If no change was made to the file, save works fine.
If you use "save as" and keep the same file name, it will usually fail with the same error as above. If you use save as and type in a new file name, all works fine.
If logged in via SMB (in the server log is says "CIFS client")
When you try to save, the error changes to "could not save "file name" because the file was not found." And then as soon as you hit OK on the error, the file is deleted from the server. Using Save As and inputing a different file name presented a new problem, it always says "could not save as "file name" because the file was not found." (in this case SMB seems to be worse than an AFP connection).
This is very frustrating and has been going on in the forums for over 3 years. Shared network environments are commonplace today. It seems to be centered around photoshop and OSX. All other software we use has been working fine with the server / network attached storage.
    Thanks for any guidance. Sean
