Photoshop CS6 32 Bit HDR crashes on MAC issue
Photoshop keeps crashing every time I convert a 32 bit image to 8bit. I am using Photoshop CS6 v13.0.4 x64 on MAC OS X 10.6.8. I goto Image>Mode>8bits/Channel.
When the Merge HDR images Dialogue Box comes up I click "Merge".
At the following window about HDR Toning it immediately crashes. (immediately as in, a second after I took this screen capture)
When i click "Don't Merge" it works fine, so it has something to do with the HDR Toning editing capabilities.
I have had problems before with CS6 working with 32 bit images on my Mac. I posted on the Adobe forum not to long ago about an issue with using content aware fill. It would render black within my selection. However it worked fine on Windows. In addition some who relied who also used MAC OS X 10.6.8 did it an it worked fine, however, he was using Photoshop CS6 v13.0.1 x64, while I am using v13.0.4 x64. So I think something broke in the later updates for PS CS6 for MAC. If I were to reinstall Photoshop would that revert it to v13.0.1?
A reinstall will give you 13.0 which you'll need to manually update to 13.0.1.

Photoshop CS6 extended sniffer_gpu crash on mac ML
I have the latest update installed for Photoshop CS6 for Mac, I also run the latest OS (MountainLion 10.8.4). I have a MacBookPro from late 2012. Whenever I open Photoshop, it shows an error log saying "sniffer_gpu quit unexpectedly". I've had this happened before and got it fixed, but can't remember how and it's just doing it again. I've searched all over the web to find an answer, but I can't find it and am lost. Everything is up to date, why do I get this crash and how do I fix it?
Photoshop works fine, but it's an annoying error and something seems to be wrong. But what? If anyone can help out, I'd be grateful. I don't want to have to reinstall Photoshop every few months because of this error, because I feel like I shouldn't.The workaround given is to disable the gpu sniffer until the fix is issued.
1. In the Photoshop CC folder, Ctrl-click on Adobe Photoshop CC.app
2. Choose "Show Package Contents" from the context menu.
3. Open the Contents > MacOS folder, look for "sniffer"
4. Keep that file, but rename it by placing a tilde in from of sniffer: ~sniffer
5. Close the finder and PS CC should launch normally. -
My IT department installed photoshop CS6 - and it crashes so much it is unusable
Hi all-
I have a decent laptop for work, Dell with good specs, running windows 7.
Using photoshop CS6, the program crashes even with the most basic commands. Some hotkeys, or a soft brush will just shut it down.
It is really frustrating, as it is pretty much unusable with this issue.
I have illustrator CS6 - which is working fine.
Any ideas on what to do here? My IT team cant really help much :/Hi Chris-
I updated photoshop myself, as well as the drivers per your reccomendation. I dont know of any plug-ins that I am using. And I am still getting a significant amount of program crashes.
about 90% of the time I can make it happen, but 10% of the time I cna use the program, lightly, and get somehting done.
Below is one warning I see occasionally when I open the program. I tried addressing it, but don't think I solved this completly...

Also, I noticed that for some reason, if I try to use help in photoshop, it dosent seem to think I am connected to the internet... Not sure if that is related at all..

In 2012, I bought Photoshop CS6 Extended (education edition) for Mac. Now I want to install it on my new Macbook. I have the correct serial number and product code, but I receive an error message: the software may be a false copy etc....What to do?

Auch der Image Processor in Photoshop aus dem Menü Automatisieren funktioniert nicht mehr:Nach einer Neuinstallation von Mavericks (komplett neu aufgesetzt inkl. aller Programme) lief unter CS6 ein paar Wochen alles wie gehabt - nun wieder der gleiche Fehler. Das letzte eingespielte Update war das von Acrobat auf 10.1.14 Kann es sein, daß das Acrobat-Update die Erstellung von Kontaktbögen zerschießt?

Photoshop CS6 keeps randomly crashing
I bought CS6 upgrade from CS5 this week but it keeps randomly crashing I mainly use CS6 for digital art with my wacom intuos tablet. I have never had this problem with CS5 and I have a decent spec PC with 8 GB Ram and a quadcore CPU so I dont understand why this is happening. In the preferences menu I have save in backround and automatically save information every 10 minutes options checked. But the ironic thing is that when I have been drawing a long time and Photoshop crashes and when I reopen CS6 there is no recovery file and the origional file hasnt been updated with auto save. I have 7 different versions of a particular digital painting I have been working on but CS6 only saved 2 recovery files from the 7 versions and has crashed atleast 16 times between my work. I have CS6 updated to the latest version from online update but the problem still persists. Can anyone offer me any advice?

Photoshop CS6 Continues to crash
I Installed photoshop CS6 extended on to my brand new mac book pro early 2013 and it has worked without any problems until Thursday September 4th 2014. whilst working on an illustration photoshop quit unexpectedly. A Huge binary explenation is included in the quit message. Having been instructed by Adobe to go on the forum I consequently on advise initially uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it. Following further advise I then removed the preference folder as well as the brushes folder from the library adobe section. I have also removed the illustion I was working on. I am at a loss as to what to do next as the problem has continued. Can someone please help me?as this has now become very frustrating.
Then come clean with your complete and detailed setup specs. Maybe your Mac Book is not up to the task. Could be insufficient installed RAM, insufficient available space on your boot drive, inadequate scratch space, etc. It could also be bad RAM, RAM modules can and do go bad over time. Apple is as susceptible as any 3rd party RAM supplier ti delivering faulty RAM sticks.

exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).

I can't get Photoshop CS6 to stop crashing every 5 minutes
I've updated everything under the sun. I've tried Basic mode and tried everything else I can think of. Any help would be appreciated!

Why can't photoshop CS6 installer initialize on my Mac?
Hi everybody,
Just today, I was trying to download Photoshop CS6 trial from Adobe's website.
I downloaded the .dmg file, and mounted it.
In the window that popped up, it contained a blue folder.
I clicked it, and a window containing several files and a red installer popped up.
I clicked the red installer, and an installer launched.
Then, about half way through the initializing, a warning window popped up, saying that "the installer could not initialize".
What's wrong with photoshop?
I've tried this many times, but every time being a failure.
My Mac runs OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion.

Photoshop serial numbers are platform specific: Mac only or Windows only.
Obtain a Mac serial number using this process (available for CS6 only, not earlier versions)

I have Photoshop CS6 for windows on an upgrade disk. Now considering a mac air notebook to replace my old pc laptop as second machine. Could I use the program on this on my existing licence? Could I use the program on this on my existing licence?
No. And that takes care of your otehr questions - it's a moot point. Standalone permanent licenses are platform specific and there's no way around that. Only Creative Cloud allows cross-platform usage as do certain types of volume licenses, none of which is relevant to your situation.
