Photoshop CS6 - All Layers updating

Hi
I have copied the Background Layer and deselected this.  I have then made adjustments to the copied Layer and when I commit the Background Layer will change as well.   I then created a New Layer and selected only this one, but then all layers were changed.   Please can you help as to what I may have missed.  I cannot seem to find anything that will work,
Thanking you
Anne

Hello,
Are you using Adjustment Layers? (those will affect all layers below it by default)
If you clip the Adjustment Layer (Layer>Create Clipping Mask) then it will only affect the layer immediately below.
or
Are you viewing at 100% (View>Actual Pixels)?
In many cases of Adjusting, you need to view at 100% to see exactly how your image is changing.

Cannot find Photoshop CS6 even though updater informs me it is up-to-date.  OX S 10.9.1.
I go to updater and it says that it is up-to-date, even though I have uninstalled it.  When I try to reinstall, the download button is available, I click it, which takes me to the updater screen, and informs me that it is up to date, even though it is not in my application folder.  I have ben able to download Lightroom with success, but not Photoshop and other previously downloaded apps.

Chin Chin please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html for information on how to resolve your current difficulties.

  • Photoshop CS6: How to update manually?

Facts (at least, with ME, they are)
    a) Automatic update fails, it hangs at 71%, nothing happens, even after an hour
    b) I downloaded
    DynamicLinkMediaServerRetail-7.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.zip
    Photoshop_CS6_13_0_1_3_upd.zip from
Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop 13.0.1.3 update for CS6
unzipped the Photoshop CS6 file and ran AdobePatchInstaller.exe
    results
    Updates could not be applied
This patch is not applicable for you. Please check for updates from the Help menu in your product to see a
    list of latest updates available.
    c) Adobe Application Manager - when launched - results into a blanc Windows screen (tried this twice!) -
no desktop icons (can not be 're-enabled' - RMB desktop is disabled)
    d) Startup items
    Therefore, I would like ...
    a. to disable automatic update - disable startup items
    Q: which ones
    b. to know how to proceed updating all manually
Q: what to download/how to proceed?
    Thanks

  • Photoshop CS6 won't update camera raw 7.1

I selected "Edit in Photoshop CS6" on a photo in Lightroom, and it told me I needed to update Camera Raw in Photoshop.  Being unable to update directly from Photoshop, I downloaded the update from Adobe.  Upon running the installer (as an administrator) I am told to "Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine.  Updates have been suppressed by the Administrater."  As the dialogue then suggests, I am now contacting customer support (sort of).
I am running CS6 on Windows 7.  Thanks for any help!

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 V13.05 Update Failure

I have recently purchased adboce Photoshop CS 6 and decided to do a software update to get the lates version of ACR.
The download worked fine and the installation looked as if it would be successful but I received an error message Installation Failed

    Error Code U44M1P7
I am using Mac OSX V10.8.4
    Any help appreciated

Hi kpot007, this error message is usually caused by a missing application file. To fix this it is recommended that you run the CS6 installer to repair or replace Photoshop CS6. When you have done this, then you should be able to update Photoshop.
Let me know if that helps.

  • Photoshop CS6 won't update to support Retina MBP?

I've tried everything and it still won't update, I've tried manually installing the lastest updates, and I have also tried looking for updates in the CreativeCloud app. Nothing works.

I don't mean to pry, but what version are you actually running?  Do you have a Creative Cloud subscription?  Did you convert from a perpetual license to a Creative Cloud subscription, and if so, when?
If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, why are you trying to run Photoshop CS6 instead of Photoshop CC?
There are cases where if you were once running a perpetually-licensed version, you have to uninstall Photoshop, then install it from the Creative Cloud application to get the latest CC release.  I have no idea whether you can still install Photoshop CS6 from the Creative Cloud application.  Perhaps someone with recent experience will be willing to chime in on that.

  • Where can subscribers download Photoshop CS6 13.1 Update from

    Steve can you help?
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6230701#6230701

    Steve
I reinstalled CS6 on top of itself the install gave me three options install with a serial number,  Start my subscription and install as a trial. I tried the start my subscription option.  But the install did not find a CS6 subscription for my userid.  I did not want to install with my CS6 serial number so I choose Trial the second attempt.   The Install installed CS6 Extended but not as a trial rather it was activated for Photoshop CS6 menu help showed Deactivate not activate.   Using  CS6 menu Help>Update started Adobe Application Manager and it it found update 13.1.2 was available. So I left CS6 extended activated  clicked update and closed CS6. The Application Manager updated CS6 to 13.1.2 without any problem.  However when I tried to start  Adobe Bridge CS6  I received  several pop up  errors stating msvcp110.dll was missing,  try reinstalling the application.  The same pop up error also happen when I started Adobe Bridge CC msvcp110.dll is missing try reinstalling the application.   Searching this forum I found that this is a common problem with Adobe installs. That  I should run Adobe vcredist_x64.exe that would fix the problem. So I searched for it and ran it and it did fix the Adobe install problems  for now Bridge CS6 and CC now starts without any problem.
CS6 is now CS6 extendes at version 13.1.2...  Thank you.

  • Photoshop CS6 does not update

I have just spent 5 days getting Photoshop CC to install properly on my computer (Win7Pro-64-bit) and now the Photoshop CS6 update fails to install. I have uninstalled CS6 and the reinstall fails.

    Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I did get the U44M1P7 error and I had already followed your link to no avail. Trying to install the updates by first downloading them produced a message that that update did not apply to my version of CS6, even though I downloaded the Win (not Mac) version). Uninstalling CS6 and attempting a reinstall via Adobe CC produced the same failed install error, U44M1P7, hence my initial post.
What I find strange is that when I first installed Adobe CC, it let me install CS6, which came as CS6 Extended. I also am licensed wit ha serial numbered CS6 which is not the extended version. I have since been able to uninstall, reinstall and update my serial numbered CS6, but CS6 no longer shows in Adobe CC Apps tab--only Photoshop CC shows now.
I don't understand what is happening here. Should I have a copy of CS6 Extended and should it be visible as part of my Photoshop CC purchase or not? If not where did the CS6 Extended come from in the first place? I believe it was the CS6 Extended that was showing in Adobe CC that did not update and gave the U44M1P7.
