Photoshop CS6 & Bridge CS5

Presently I have installed on my computer (Windows platform) Photosop extended, Dreamweaver, Premiere pro, encore, all of them CS5
Can I upgrade only Photoshop to CS6 with Bridge CS6 ??
Will Bridge CS6 co-exist with Bridge CS5, or will it overwrite Bridge CS5, in which case, what will I do with my other CS5 software?

Bridge CS5 and Bridge Cs6 will Coexist on the same machine together.
The CS5 apps will invoke Bridge CS5, and the CS6 apps will know to invoke CS6 bridge.
You can however only have one instance of Bridge running at any given time

Photoshop CS6 Bridge freezes on loading image into Photoshop

CS6 Bridge, text in the Folder window freezes following loading of an image from Bridge into PhotosShop CS6. Bridge is render useless. Closing Photoshop frees up Bridge. Bridge does not refresh the type in the folders window and occassionaly leaves partial tiles of images in the content window. This occures esch time an image is loaded from Bridge into Photoshop.

I have the latest video drive for Win-7 64x.
Thank you for the tip, in searching for the driver info I discovered under "Start" > "All Programs" > "Nvidia Corporation" > "3D Vision" > "Disable 3D Vision". By disabling the "3D Vision" in this "All Programs" menu cured the problem. Kind of a strange place for a "switch".
Sure hope that this helps someone else as this was a very frustrating problem!

Photoshop and Bridge CS5 does not auto rotate SOME images.

Photoshop and Bridge CS5 does not rotate SOME of my vertical images. Most other photos taken in the same time frame and with the same camera display perfectly.
Orientation is checked for display under Preferences, Metadata, Camera Data.
There also seems to be a discrepancy how Orientation is described under Metadata for those images which DO auto rotate : sometimes it is -90 (which is how I hold the camera for verticals and which displays on most verticals) and sometimes it is "normal" even when it has auto rotated the image. I do not understand this difference.
"Normal" is also used to describe the orientation of those images which DO NOT auto rotate for viewing.
The photos in questions were taken using a Nikon D-300 which is programmed to indicate the orientation of the camera and has always been programmed to do so.
I know I can manually change the orientation but we are talking about hundreds of images (I have over 10,000 photos in all; most of which display fine).
What should I be looking for to explain and correct this issue?

Thanks for responding to my query. I'll check out the thumbnail size.
It is just so curious that 90% of the verticals auto rotate and the rest do not. The ones that do not rotate are even from different years (other images in those years work fine), although all taken with the same camera.

After reinstalling Photoshop CS6 Bridge is very slow. It takes 15 sec to respond to a mouse click. Photoshop is OK.

I had to reinstall Photoshop CS6 after rebuilding my PC. Now Bridge takes 15 sec to respond to a mouse click. Photoshop is fine. I have installed all updates.

Slow as compared to what? Have you seen better performance with older versions of Photoshop?

Takes my system longer than that to start Photoshop CS5, and while my computer isn't a top-of-the-line workstation today (it was a few years ago), it's no slouch. Photoshop has never been a fast application to start up.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 or CS5 extended for Vista

I tried to download a trial version of Photoshop CS6, but was unable to do so since I am running Windows Vista which is apparently "unsupported". Is it possible for me to download a trial copy of CS5 extended?
Can I download CS6 on a Windows 7 machine, then install it on my Vista machine?

Yes, you can download a trial copy of CS5.5 Extended from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html
You'll only be able to use it for 30 days though. Adobe no longer sells it so you will not be able to buy a serial number for it.

That won't achieve anything. CS6 will not run on Vista. Doesn't matter if you download it on any machine or obtain it on Flash drive or DVD - it still won't run on Vista.

Photoshop CS6 to CS5 custom patterns

I am trying to send a client a photoshop CS6 file whom is using CS5. He can open the file but the custom patterns are not converting even after installing the patterns. Any Suggestions?

I would assume it's just a bug.
But I need to get this to the client so I am just rasterizing the layers keeping the styles and duplicating them keeping the object flexibility with no styles. Then try to recombined them in CS5.
Not how I was supposed to spend my Tuesday night but what can you do. Hopefully it works.

Free Upgrade to Photoshop CS6 from CS5.5 upon release

I Purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 production Premium (Student License) a month ago understanding that a free upgrade to Photoshop CS6 MAC. when available. How do I upgrade to CS6 now that it is released.

I’m in the same boat.
I knew this would happen so I sent in a support ticket and got a case number on the 22nd. I was told that I do qualify for the cs6 upgrade but I would have to wait. So I did and guess what – nothing came.
I spent the better part of an hour in chat and while they have agreed there is an issue and have “escalated” my problem to the “offline team”, they are now away for Memorial Day and I won’t hear back until at least Tuesday.
All I wanted was a link to my promo code or an explanation – I didn’t get either and now the studio I've booked out sits vacant all weekend.
I cannot imagine letting a client twist in the wind without delivering their project or an explanation as to why an extension is needed – It’s unfathomable. If Adobe cannot stick to their deadline they need to change it or explain why BEFORE the deadline passes. A simple email would suffice and any adult with any business experience would agree that this just is common sense.
What will Adobe do now? I predict I’ll get a form letter apology ( that’s not worth near the $300 I lost this weekend ) and finally a link to my promo code. No mentions of compensations or added value for my trouble.

How do I crop in inches in Photoshop CS6 Bridge?

I could do it so easy in CS5, but when I go to the crop tool in the bridge then hit on custom I no longer see the drop down arrow where I could change to inches etc.
I only see crop ratio. I also find the crop tool in PSCS6 much harder to use. Thanks.

I have always croped in the Bridge before as many as 15 images at a time ( and did most of my corrections) by selecting them all then synchronizing them.
I will just have to go back to the CS5 version......and hope they do better upgrades.

How can I read font in Photoshop and Bridge CS5 (illustrator is big enough)

I have upgraded my PC to windows 8, and now Font size is about size 2 - I can not read the font, this is a huge problem. HUGE. I have managed to get Microsft help via phone, they suggest reducing the screen resolution, but this makes everything BLURREY, so that is not an option when working with Graphics.
I really need a solution to this??

Can I enlarge the text and/or icons in Photoshop CS5 or Bridge CS5?

My sight is poo rand I'd like to make the text and icons larger in Photoshop and Bridge CS5. Can it be done? I have a 27" monitor.

That is a problem then. I can adjust my text sizes in the palette titles, menus, title bars etc. in windows and it has had the desired effect in CS and CC. There is a problem with the text size in CC 2014 however that many are experiencing including myself. I still use CC most of the time because of the bug. Although I'm running 8.1, adjusting the text size in 8.0 and 7 worked just the same with renditions of Photoshop prior to 2014.

Bridge CS5 frozen

Since using the beta version of CS6 Bridge CS5 is frozen or very very slow, is there anyway to reinstall it without installing the whole PS5 suite? Or is there another solution to getting Bridge back on its feet?

Are you inquiring if there is just a way to reinstall Bridge CS5? Do you have Photoshop CS5 or one of the suites? I would recommend removing Photoshop and reinstalling Photoshop. If you have a suite you can try just removing Photoshop but Bridge is used with multiple products so the most expedient option would be to simply remove and reinstall the entire suite.
I checked our product updates and we do not have a separate installer for Bridge itself available.

Photoshop CS6 suddenly thinks it's CS6 Extended trial

I have had Photoshop CS6, Bridge and Camera Raw (not trial version and not Extended) working on Windows 8 for months then 8.1 for several weeks. Suddenly after 16 Windows 8.1 updates today, and no alterations to Photoshop or Bridge, Bridge said that Camera raw editing was not enabled, and I had to run a piece of qualifying software. I ran Photoshop CS6, and it said CS6 Extended trial. I had to sign in using my Adobe ID and run the trial to solve the camera raw editing. However my Photoshop now thinks it's an extended trial. How can I get around this? I just want Photoshop CS6 which is what I paid for.

Bridge CS5 just won't start up

I use Adobe Photoshop and Bridge CS5 on Windows Vista SP2.
Recently I had a nasty virus on my laptop that had eaten away some of important .dll and .exe files and thus caused problems with many software applications. However, I have cleared the system of the virus now. The faulty applications get fixed when I reinstall them.
Similarly, I did a full cleanup and reinstall of Adobe Photoshop CS5 too. I even used the "AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe" and made sure I had no Adobe CS products on my machine before I reinstalled. As a result of this, Photoshop CS5 works fine, but Bridge CS5 fails to start up.
I see the below error when I try to launch it.

I have tried installing the latest Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.
I have even done the option of resetting preferences by holding down Ctrl key while launching Bridge.
I have also tried deleting everything under the below directory:
"C:\Users\Adarsh\AppData\Roaming\Adobe"
I am convinced it is not a problem with Bridge CS5 but that of a module / dll that Bridge depends on. Unfortunately, due to the limited information I see in the error report, I am not able to go any further.
I am breaking my head over this from the past two weeks and been completely out of luck. Any help offered to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did you do the virus scan yourselt for have it done in a shop?

Problems with Image Processor in Bridge CS5

I just installed Photoshop and Bridge CS5, and I'm having a couple of problems. First, I can't update to Bridge 4.02. I've downloaded the installer and tried to run it, but I get an error message. All it says is that it can't run the update. The same thing with the Camera Raw updater. The most immediate problem I'm having is that Image Processor in CS5 seems to run differently from how it runs in CS4. Specifically, if I select a bunch of files in Bridge, and ask Image Processor to run an action on them and save to the same location, which is what I've been doing ever since CS2, it opens the files in Photoshop, and leaves them open. This means that pretty soon I've got far too many fiiles open, and my Mac can't cope with it (an iMac Core Duo 2.16Ghz with 4 GB of ram). It also gives me an error message at the end saying it can't process the relevant files, even though it has processed them! In previous versions of Image Processor, it would open the files to run the action, convert to sRGB, etc. and then close each one after saving it to a new folder named "JPEG". How can I get the latest version to behave like this?

Nevermind... I restarted Flash and it miragically appeared! Yay CS5!
