Photoshop CS6 bug? Can't use brush tool on newly created layer.

Has anyone encountered this problem before - I'm using a Wacom intuos 2 and working up some illustraitons, but whenever I create a new layer, the brush tool goes completely defunct and makes absolutely no marks on the document. I have gotten in the habit of just restarting Photoshop, and then it works. Am I accidently hitting some setting that I missed?

Mylenium might be correct on the Wacom driver, and PS CS 6 (if you have not installed the latest driver from Wacom, I would do that), but to check things out, I would Reset the Brush Tool's Options. Next, I would verify that I had created a New Layer (a "regular Layer," and not, say a Shapes Layer), then check that I had no Selections active in that regular Layer. Those can be common reasons why some Tools do not function, as they should.
I also have an Intuos 2, but have not hooked that up to my PS CS 6, so cannot directly comment on the drivers for it, with CS 6. Maybe I will have time to install the drivers, and hook that up to my laptop next week. Will report on how it works for me.

Why is Photoshop CS6 extremely slow with the brush tool using Wacom pen?

Could my wacom tablet be the issue? The psd processor spins not stop until I pick up the wacom mouse and click on an adjacent layer then back to the layer I was working on. Then the wacom pen work with the brush tool. This seems to happen when every time I pick up the pen and go back to the brush tool.

First, sorry it took so long to reply. Have been a bit swamped. What I mean by the psd processor, is the balls that rotate kind of like the SBDO when the app is executing a paint stroke. So I tried your suggestion, mad a new file 7w x 5d at 72pi, set the brush to 25px at 100% hardness and made a stroke with the wacom pen. It worked fine. The issue is working in large files say around letter size at 300dpi or large format graphics for trade shows at 150dpi. These files can range anywhere from 6ft x 8ft high to 16ft w x 10 ft h for an example. So painting in a channel mask or retouching using the brush tool in airbrush mode is painfully slow. I've found that while this little psd icon is spinning, if I take the wacom mouse, click on an adjacent layer then go back to the layer I was working on and resume with the airbrush, the problem subsides. It seems this spinning thing happens when I initially start using the brush on a layer or layer mask. Do you get what I'm trying to explain?

A number of users experience severe screen flicker in Photoshop CS6 when using any of the larger brush type tools (cloning, eraser, brush, spot healing, burning, and dodging). As many on this thread are experiencing, it is awfull and unusable! The flicker is screen wide black boxes, sometimes the whole screen goes black. It only seems to happen when we put the cursor over the image to edit.
Hardware: MacBook Air 13", Haswell 1.7 GHz, 8GB, 512 SSD Software:
Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 20130105.r.224, OS X v10.8.4 (and perhaps others)
Looks like a CS6 is not compatible with teh new MacAir. Please look into this and advise.

An update:
I went to the Apple store and brought myself a more recent MacBook Air (13", 4/256 FYI, they were out of the 8/512 model). I can't reproduce *exactly* what you're showing, but got the flicker to happen by resizing the cursor. Also, while painting, the screen seems to stop updating except for the cursor -- not only is Photoshop unable to draw, but other applications stop drawing as well. And a few times it hasn't even updated the cursor (while all other apps seem frozen). That's not normal.
When I see the flickering, I frequently see the menubar and other UI elements draw at the wrong location on the LCD, then black, then redraw in the correct location -- repeat in different positions and lots of "static" until I stop changing the cursor. That's more evidence of a hardware or and odd driver issue. The odd thing is: it doesn't happen all the time. It's possible that the one we have at the office also shows the problem, but we didn't test long enough.
I'm trying to reach out to my hardware contacts at Apple - but it's a weekend before a holiday, so we may not make progress immediately.
One thing that would be useful here: the model of MacBook Air that you have that shows (or doesn't show) the problem.

AE CS6 bug: Can't use any shortcut that includes the C in it

A while ago I started having some issues In Illustrator CS6, where I couldn't copy and paste from one document/application to another, the issue later ported itself to AE and not much after that anything including the C key stopped working. For example I can't copy, pre compose or create a camera using shortcuts.
After a lot of troubleshooting I was able to isolate a preference pane who was causing the Illustrator issue, I removed it and AI went back to normal, I assumed After Effects would be fixed too but unfortunately that's not the case, I still can't use the C key.
I ran Onyx thoroughly, trashed AE's prefs, removed some recently acquired scripts, removed some login items and trashed those prefs also (I read a thread that mentioned those items could be causing odd behaviors).
I carefully compared my setup against my laptop, which also has AE CS6 installed and working perfectly, I have the same scripts, the same preferences and the only login items not installed there are the ones that's are grayed out in my imac, so I can't delete them.
If someone can help with this I'll be very grateful, I'm wasting a lot of time trying to solve this thing and I'm very used to using said shortcuts to increase my workflow.

I quit a few other components, a small utility called Shortcut (isn't that ironic?) and another one called MacAppBlocker,
I still can't pre compose any layers using command-shift-c
I was able to create a camera using command-shift-alt-c, after several tries, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
I was being able to copy and paste across different programs and layers all sorts of objects, UNTIL I opened Illustrator and copied a path, then I pasted it into a solid in AE.
The next time I tried to copy something else, my clipboard got stuck with the path from Illustrator, EVEN inside illustrator.

This is an aknowledged bug from Illustrator, but as I have discovered in the past few days it's affecting everything systemwise, what are the possibilities that the only shortcuts that are failing are those that contain the combination of command-c? And like I said, it starts missbehaving right after I copy a path in Illustrator, not before.
Alright, after some further testing, here's what I found:
I removed (completely deleted) from my computer a small piece of software called WD Quickview, right after I was able to precomp and create cameras in AE.
I still have the copy/paste issue from Illustrator, right after I copy a path, the clipboard goes haywire system wide.
The strange thing is that, such program, WD Quickview has been installed on my computer for over a year now and never had any trouble with it, moreover, I'm not entirely sure how am I going to be able to get into the drive that uses that program (WD force-install that thing with their new drives that come with a new unerasable firmware).
Coincidentally, I haven't plug the drive at all this week, so perhaps the program went crazy when it couldn't find the drive?

Can I use Solution Builder on newly created Client?

I have an existing SAP system and I created new client via SCC4 without doing any client copy (means it's blank).
Can I logon to the newly created client via SAP* (since there's no other user id) and run Solution Builder to activate those SAP best practices Building Block? Will that affect other existing client (what I mean, will there be a cross-client customizing?

Yes, You can login to newly created client via SAP*. However, running or activation on empty client is not advisable.
Please copy the Newly created client from 000 or 001 and start the activation.

Photoshop CS6 crashes whenever I use font tool

I've browsed the other discussion threads with the same problem, but I am very confused as I have limited computer knowledge. I've used the font tool on CS5 before and there was no problem, but now when I use CS6 it either crashes or it lags so much that I have to force quit.
Currently using Mac 10.8.3
20in. display
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

You may have answered my question. I AM using the 64bit version of Illustrator CS6. I had no idea there were bugs in it that affected paths copied and pasted from Illustrator to Photoshop.
A bit more about what I'm trying to accomplish... I'm trying to follow Deke's tutorial (http://www.deke.com/content/dekes-techniques-018-creating-a-3d-pie-chart) which is already difficult since so much has changed between CS5.5 and 6, but then on top of that, I keep getting errors!
So I created the pie chart exactly as he shows and copied and pasted into Photoshop exactly as he does. Before submitting this post, though, I tried drawing just two very simple triangle shapes, copying them both and pasting them into Photoshop as a shape layer. The shapes weren't overlapping, but they were a part of the same shape layer just like the pie chart tutorial.

Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool. It seemas to run fine until i try and use the move tool. PS worked fine just a few weeks ago and now it has this issue. What can i do to resole this issue?

7. If you are using more than one video adapter, remove the additional cards.
Multiple video adapters can cause problems when OpenGL and Photoshop use the GPU. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model. Also make sure that they both support the same versions of OpenGL and Shader Model. Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using two video adapters does not enhance Photoshop's performance.

Thanks for your help. Actually the problem was solved when turning off the GPU. In the mean time, I would like to upgrade my Video Card, too. My existing vedio card detials are as below. May I seek your advice on any good method other than replace it.

Update your graphics driver/ turn off GPU usage in the performance prefs. You have an issue with hardware-based transparency handling most likely. Otherwise you could have an issue with your input device, but since you have not provided any system info, we can't really know anything.

I am using NOTE 3 SM-9005. Whenever I use the blur tool, the loading wheel pops up and never stops loading. I am forced to close the app and I can't use that tool. Anyways to solve it? Thanks!

I am currently using version 1.2.1.
I just tried it with a smaller project and the loading wheel did not appear but the brush seemed to have lagged on the screen. It returned to normal after about 20 seconds.
Yes, I have used all tools and this is the only tool that makes it happen.

I can't use text tool. Text is invisible. I tried all colors fonts and settings. Help me pls

The usual answer is that you have a huge document with a 72dpi resolution, and Type is set to points.
To test this go Preferences > Units & Rulers and set Type to mm (the default is points)
Now open the Image size dialog, turn off Resample and set the resolution to 300dpi
Now create some more text. If you still can't see anything, come back and we'll try something else.
Note: if your document size is _really_ huge, like 30,000 pixels, then that's the problem all by itself.
