Photoshop cs6 could not complete new video layers from file command because the footage is not a recognized format
I am getting this message when importing stills into photoshop CS6 Extended to make a time lapse video. I have watched many tutorials and follow them but always get stuck at this point. I have tried various formats and sizes TIFF JPEG etc. The files are numerical sequenced in one folder.

Yes that is the one I watched and that's my workflow when I go to Layer, Video Layer, New Layer from file that,s when this message comes up. I had a thought but haven't tried it yet, my settings open images in 16 bit maybe I should change back to 8 bit, I'll let you know.

Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

var oIcon = getField("b3").buttonGetIcon();
// Get reference to the b0 button
var f = getField("b0");
// Set the icon of the b0 button to the icon retrieved from the hidden button
f.buttonSetIcon(oIcon);

This code would go in the Mouse Up event of the smaller button. -

If you connect and select iP5 in computer iTunes, in Apps tab, make sure the apps you want are checked before you sync.
Or on iPhone > App Store > Updates > Purchases > tap the app icon to re-download them. -

Specifically I'm trying to import a .MOV I made in Quicktime. The file opens up everywhere else so it's not an issue with the file being corrupted. The error message I get from CC is
"Could not complete command _____________ because the video file could not be opened."
As far as I know I didn't save the .MOV with any permissions, but then again I have very limitted understanding of Quicktime. Originally the file was a .GIF that I converted to an .MOV because I wanted to edit the GIF using the video timeline instead of the animation timeline.

Also, as an aside since I know a lot of Adobe employees are on here, the animation timeline is pretty crummy, there should be a way that you can open a .GIF into the video timeline as a video layer.Did the back and forth between PC and Mac file systems screw up my files somehow?
Yes. Unfortunately the move has almost certainly caused the loss of the resource data that would have been (invisibly) attached to those files.
By adding a specific .mov extension after the fact you will have helped the Mac correctly identify the file type / asscoiations but also significantly you will have physically changed the filename eg from "clip" to "clip.mov". This means that when you come to reconnect the media in FCP , then FCP will be looking for files that no longer exist at the given path eg when specifically looking for our example clip called "clip" of course it won't find it.
Try this as a test... first remove the ".mov" extension from one or more of the clips, select those clips and press Cmd-Opt-I to open an Info window for the selection. You'll see an "Open with:" popup and in that popup you should choose QuickTime Player (if its a Unix Executable then it will initially list Terminal as the appropriate app, you have to choose Other... then in the open dialog choose Enable > All Applications and then navigate to and select the Quicktime Player app as the appropriate app). After you've done that restart FCP and see if you can now reconnect to those clips. -

So I just changed from an iphone4S to an iphone 5 because my screen didn't work any longer on the 4s but the phone itself still works so I managed to get all my contacts etc BUT for some reason I can't transfer all my music across to itunes and therefore I can't get it onto my new phone, it only transfers about 50% of it.
Then when i go into music on the iphone 5 it shows the music but won't let you play anything and just flicks through all the songs without playing anything.
Can anyone help please?

Hi all, I have an Exchange 2013 SP1, I have installed a third-party SSL certificate and correctly on the server, but when I assign the POP and IMAP services, I see this error
The certificate with thumbprint XXXXXXXXX and subject '*. Xxxx.yyy' can not be used for POP SSL / TLS connections because the matter is not a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Use the Set-POPSettings X509CertificateName command to set the FQDN of the service.
I tried to run this command and restart the POP and IMAP services
ImapSettings set-ca-server-1-X509CertificateName mail.xxxxx.yyy
POPSettings set-ca-server-1-X509CertificateName mail.xxxxx.yyy
But the POP and IMAP services, the certificate is not assigned.

Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the file could not be opened
I recently learned to make gif images using KMPlayer and my Photoshop CS6, but today I hit a snag that I can't seem to get around. Normally I capture a scene from a show DVD I have in KMPlayer and then import the video frames into layers/frames in photoshop with no problem. Well today I went to do that, and captured the scene with what seemed like no problem (the small captured scene saved with no problem) but when I went to CS6 to import the video into layers, I got the error message "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the file could not be opened". At first I thought it was the KMPlayer saving the files wrong, so I retried and got the same error message. Irestored the players settings back to a default and the file still wouldn't open in photoshop, and then I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the player trying to get it to work, and then I thought it must be photoshop, because even scenes I had captured at an earlier day that worked perfectly fine when importing would not open.
What could possibly be causing this problem to occur. Should I uninstall/reinstall photoshop and see if that works, or am I doing something wrong?
The files I'm trying to import are AVIs as always, I even tried to capture scenes in other formats to no avail. What could be causing the problem?I uninstalled an reinstalled photoshop totally and it didn't fix the problem either. I made a post on the KMPlayer's forum hoping for an answer but I haven't recieved one yet. I'm starting to think it's the kmplayer having a problem capturing, since I've started getting the error "could not import the file to layers because the file has no layers" sometimes in photoshop, but I'm still trying to work around in photoshop to see if the problem came from there.

I have this problem, I have PS CS6 and when I click on File> Import> Video Frames to Layers.. Next, the window that says "Initializing Video Import" starting to load and always get stuck and that's what appears: "Could not complete the video frames to layers command because the DynamicLink Media Server is not available". That's with aaaall the videos.
PS: I've been trying with File> Open but that's what says "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
Anybody know what happens to my photoshop? Thx!The relevant auxiliary service/ helper app is being blocked and thus not launching,. anything from permissions issues to security tools getting in teh way. Check your Task Manager/ Activity Monitor, turn off security stuff, run as admin.

I'm using Photoshop CS5 extended.
I've been using that to make gifs. It was fine when I import video frams into layers with the video formats of .mov or .avi. But After I installed OSX 10.6.8, this message comes up everytime I want to import videos: "Could not complete the Video Frames to Layers command because the movie file could not be opened."
So I installed my old OS back which is 10.6.3 but the problem is still there.
May I know what to do to solve this problem because all along I've been fine with making gifs and importing videos until now.

The computer deities may be trying to say something to you. GIF is not a video format.
Are you opening video with the same codec that was successfully opened before? -
Aperture: When trying to open in external editor I get this warning when going to Photoshop CS6: Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered. I can export and open via Photoshop or open directly from file-just not through external editor. Gerry

When I tried the 3D I got an error message that said (could not complete the new 3D extrusion from selected layer command because the path is too complex.) what does this mean and how can i fix it?There was a bug at one time where really simple paths (like a triangle, for example) could cause that error.
Is your path really simple (I don't plan to go watch the video)? If so, have you installed the latest update for Photoshop? That bug may have been fixed already.
If it's not that, it's possible that if your path is really complex and simply exceeding Photoshop's capability.

LR4 Problem: The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched.
Is there a fix for this? When I try to edit an image in Photoshop from Lightroom 4 (CTRL+E), Photoshop CS6 launches immediately but with no image. In Lightroom 4, after about two minutes, the message box appears saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched." When I click OK, the image promptly opens in Photoshop CS6 like normal. This wan an itermittent issue for me after the LR4.1 release. I was hoping that LR4.2 would help, but now I get the error every time.

Scratch space on three drivesThis may be a cooincidence, I starting having problems after I started using a Nikon D800, which has 36MP files. LR4 released at the same time as the D800. LR4 shows signs of struggling with the larger files, which are typically 280MB TIFFs for the D800, like freezing for several seconds when using an adjustment brush or going into a spasm with the crop tool. Because Photoshop does not have similar large file issues, I'm doing more basic work in Photoshop, like cropping, dodge and burn, exposure adjustment, etc.
Because Photoshop otherwise runs fine, and appears to read all the prefernes properly mid-issue, to get a better idea of what's going on, I turned on Process Monitor from Technet. For what it's worth, LR4 appears to touch the Photoshop preferences before it launches Photoshop. LR4 must have a memory leak in that corrupts the Photoshop preferences file in a way that makes no difference to Photoshop.
My weekend project is to try Capture One to see if I can spend more time on photography and less troubleshooting Adobe problems. As it stands, LR4 is not usable for me. -
Photoshop document created in current version of PSCC2014, now will not crop, resize, etc without throwing compatibility error.

You may be able to open the flattened composite or the embedded JPEG preview of your file in Adobe Illustrator, GraphicConverter (Mac only) or some such application, but your layers will be gone.

Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work. It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
