Can anyone point me to a chart that compares PSCS6 with PSCS6 Extended side by side? I keep finding "articles" but that is not what I am looking for. I am looking for a feature list side by side to compare ALL features and what is different.

I have Photoshop CS6 Extended Students and Teachers Edition. when I go into the Filter/Oil paint and try to use Oil Paint a notice comes up "This feature requires graphics processor acceleration. Please Check Performance Preferences and verify that "Use Graphics Processor" is enabled. When I go into Performance Preferences I get a notice "No GPU available with Photoshop Standard. Is there any way I can add this feature to my Photoshop either by purchasing an addition or downloading something?

Does you display adapter have a supported GPU with at least 512MB of Vram? And do you have the latest device drivers install with Open GL support. Use CS6 menu Help>System Info... use its copy button and paste the information in here.

Hello folks how do you do? Well, I'm experiencing a problem using the 'Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended'. In general the 3D feature doesn't really show up in my screen. What can I do? Please some one?

I think I bought a fake or counterfeit version of Photoshop CS6 extended. How do I find out for sure.

i am using windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv6-6108. I purchased Photoshop CS6 extended. The guy said it is a full Retail version and "self installs" the serial number and activates. It doesn't fully install into my control panel programs, instead it puts 2 icons on the desk top for Photoshop, but they have a "install shield" on them. I can't update (the update and register features are grayed out.under the help menu. The program opens, but everytime it does, it brings up the window asking if you want to let this program make changes on the computer. Supposedly the serial number that auto-loads is inscribed on the inner ring of the disk, but you can't really tell what they are. So I have no way to know what it is. Lots of other odd ball stuff that makes me doubt the genuineness of the product. What can I do to establish real or fake? And to get it registered like my other Adobe products.

No 3D options on Windows 8 in Photoshop CS6 Extended!

Hello everyone! Recently, I have installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended trial from Adobe.com (Yeah, I am sure it was the EXTENDED version). In the setup it says that it is installing ”Photoshop CS6 Extended” and I could saw that yellow leaves -or what that is- girl in the image. But everytime I open the program, it says only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6”, I have no 3D options displayed and if I go to About Photoshop, it says that it is only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6 (not EXTENDED-as I could see on some youtube videos)”! So, what is the problem? I have a 32-bit system and Windows 8 Release Preview installed. I read that XP does not support 3D, but about Windows 8... Or, it does not support 32-bit systems, it only support 64-bit systems??? What should I do? Thank you in advance!

You may even want to check how the other GPU features work on this video card. It is at the minimum requirement for Ps CS6, and given the age of this card it may not be supported.
The minimum required GPU must have 512 MB VRAM for Ps CS6 Extended. We have some cases for GPU with 256-512MB where the 3D menu items aren't disabled, but problems may still occur. The suggested VRAM is 1GB or higher for 3D the feature set.

Then the adobe application manager has been installed and the photoshop CS6 started to be installed automaticaaly and after it done , I found it the standard version not the Extended ... So how and where can I get the Extended version for both 32 bit and 64 bit?

So if you download the trial from the trial page at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop you get Photoshop CS6 Extended. When you then remove the trial and reinstall from the Adobe Application Manager with your trial Creative Cloud you only see the Standard version?
If this is so you can try reviewing your installation logs by following the steps listed in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html. Although your 30 day trial has already begun. I would recommend for now you just remove the installation and install from the trial page so that you can try the extended features.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-Bit GPU Acceleration Stopped Working

I've been using Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit when one day the GPU acceleration features stopped working. I closed the application and restarted it and the GPU acceleration still didn't work. I couldn't rotate the canvas or use scrubby zoom. I rebooted my system and it still wasn't working. I check my performance preferences and my graphics processor was detected with the "Use Graphics Processor" box checked. I unchecked it and rechecked but the GPU acceleration still wasn't working. I uninstalled Photoshop CS6 and reinstalled it. I got the GPU acceleration to work opening the application right after the install. I close Photoshop CS6 64-bit and reopened it and the GPU acceleration wasn't working again. I am able to use GPU acceleration features in Photoshop CS6 32-bit with no problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Ultimate Edition and I have a GeForce 280m GTX GPU. Would there be anyone out there who can help me with this issue. Thanks.

From what I gathered on this Forum there is a good chance that it may be related to the driver – unfortunately it could be either becasuse it’s obsolete or a bad new version.

3D Menu not displayed Photoshop CS6 Extended

Hi all,
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended from adobe.com as the trial, but after installing it I don't see the 3D menu at the top.
I have tried reinstalling several times but still no 3D menu.
I have a ASUS GTX550Ti graphics card with 1gb of ram so I thought this would be sufficiunt.
Also running windows 7 64bit.
Any help appreciated.

People report this from time to time. Adobe's response has been along the lines of "of course the trial will show you the 3D menu", ignoring the fact that a user is reporting that it doesn't.
Did you get the Photoshop trial software directly from Adobe.com?
It's not a problem with your hardware being insufficient, because if the GPU or OS/driver weren't up to the task the 3D menu would be there, just grayed-out. That you're not seeing it says that the installer has done something wrong and has set up the trial to run as the Standard edition somehow.
Unfortunately, no one has reported a sure way to make the Extended features show up in the trial so far, since mostly the problem has been dodged, but here's what I'd suggest.
Uninstall the trial, then run the Adobe Create Suite Cleaner Tool, then try a reinstall.

I'm trying to download the trial version of Photoshop CS6, but adobe just returns me the download page of Photoshop CS6 Extended. Where can I download that? Is that available as a trial?

The only way is to buy a license I have complained to Adobe for I do not want to be a beta tester and do not want to even see extended feature during a trial. I talk for over an hour with their support on the phone before paying for a licence. They told me the bug I wated fixed in CS5 was fixed in CS6 so I sprung for a license only to find out they lied the bug is still in CS6 andAdobe has added additional bugs. Things that work in the past now have bugs. IMO what I paid for is a beta not a good release so many Actions and Scripts fail if your preferences is set to edit in floading windows. The Only way to even use CS6 it to edit with preference set to open in tabs then float windows with tabs option in effect. New features support like Bicubic Automatic was not added to Photoshop Scripting which breaks Script that reference a users interpolaton preference when the preference is the default Bicubic Automatic. Installing the Script listener disables the new allow tool recording option. The new Allow Tool Recording is machine dependant recording a massive amount of data on fast machine and a small amount of data on slow machines. Playing an action that record tools on a fasts machine when played on a slow machine is unuseable. There is at least one new bug in the Action player and one new bug in the Action recorder. The there are other new features like content aware move the feature may work on a document where the move is relatily easy to pull off. Professional as well as well as amatures tha pay the price for Photoshop want tools that are well designed and work not tools that may work on some machines or work on easy problems not hard ones. IMO CS6 as is is beta code and has some design flaws as well.

3d Text not changing colour in Photoshop CS6 Extended-Any Thoughts?

I'm trying 3d text for the 1st time in Photoshop Cs6 Extended and thought I'd post my query on here as I've always found people to be really friendly and helpful.
The problem is every time I create new text and and change the colour it's always showing up as black. Nothing I do seems to alter this. Someone suggested a memory problem but I really don't know
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

Did a complete reinstall and that seemed to allow me to change colours.Interestingly when I did the offered upgrade it reverted back to the way it was.Although I can't seem to see the widget(with grid) that allows me to easily move the text around.Is that in CS6? A few days ago or so, I had downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the official Adobe site here (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop), and wanted to only test it out. However, I did a very stupid thing and uninstalled all my Microsoft Visual C++ products, not knowing that these were important for Photoshop. Anyways, Photoshop was having all errors etc. and I had to uninstall it (the 30 days weren't over yet, by the way). Now I have downloaded the Microsoft C++ products again, and I wanted to download Photoshop CS6 Extended again - it all was installed it perfectly, but when I opened the program, it was just Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CS6 Extended (and I want it because of the 3D options etc.) - and I was using the same download link from above. So, why has it downloaded the "wrong" product now?

The installation is one and the same software, only a serial number differentiates the feature set.
It's not supposed to be able to show you just non-Extended features in evaluation mode, however. I don't honestly know what to advise, other than maybe to do a full and complete removal, including use of Adobe's Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then install it yet again. Perhaps trying to run it in a damaged state triggered some of the GPU detection logic to fail and deconfigure Photoshop's use of the GPU.
Since it is allowing you to continue your evaluation period, there's hope.

What OS are you using? CS6 with 3D does not work with XP OS.
PS CS6 comes in two flavors, Extended and Standard.
PS CS 6 extended has 3D features but on the other hand Standard version doesnt have these features.
So, there may be a possibility that you may have purchased Standard version.

Downgrade «Photoshop CS6 Extended» to just «Photoshop CS6», it's standard version?

recently I've replaced my MacBook Pro 17" (Mid 2010) with new Retina (15" / Early 2013) and after I've installed Adobe Photoshop it appears to be Extended version instead of Standart. And I want my standart version back. I didn't use 3D features and I'm okay with standard version. I'm running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3) if it useful information.
So the question is: How do I downgrade my Photoshop CS6 «Extended» to «Standard» version?
What I've tried:
1. Reinstall application. No changes, still Extended version.
2. Install on differenct computer same install package. I've tried to run this on my Mac Pro — unsuccessful.
3. Reinstall application on «clean» OS X version on my previous MacBook Pro (17") — everything is okay. Standard version running as it does before.
Please help me solve this little issue, because Google left me without answers.

Simple.
It's just one and the same application, just one binary. What determines whether you get the Extended features or not is your serial number.
If you're on a subscription basis, it will always be the Extended version.
If you're using the trial version, it will be Extended. When you input a Standard serial number after you purchase it, it will become Standard.
If you've already put in your serial number and registered the applicaton and still see the Extended features, it means you paid for the Extended version.
