  • Submit Button Greyed Out (v 4.0.5)

I have been using Compressor successfully for about a year.  Recently it updated to v4.0.5.   Now I am not able to submit, with the final Submit button greyed out.  I have checked my Destination folder permissions and all appear correct.
What could be the cause of this, and what shall I do?  I need to render a program urgently for broadcast.
    Thanks
    Geoff

    I just resolved a similar problem.  I am running OSX 10.6.8 on a MBP 13" 2010.
Once inside Compressor I'd click on "submit" and the drop down window would show "none" next to "Cluster:" and the submit button was greyed out.
I called Apple Care and they had me delete the preference file "com.apple.Compressor.plist" file from my user>library>preferences folder.  This did not fix the problem on its own.
They then had me delete the Apple Qmaster folder from user>library>application support.  This did not fix the problem on it's own.
I then reinstalled the Compressor application itself.  This did not fix the problem on its own.
I then verified permissions and repaired permissions using disk utility.  This did not fix the problem on it's own.
I then clicked on "Share Monitor" which is found on the Compressor task bar.  "This Computer" was displayed in the left column.  I simply clicked on it in order to high light it.  I left the "Share Monitor" window open and went back to the submit panel and "This Computer" was now displayed next to "Cluster:" and the program is now working again.
    YMMV.

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
This action will delete any custom Mail stationery that you have created. If you want to preserve it, ask for instructions.
If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Agent email help - buttons greyed out at one location

The setup:  Two call centers.  One in NC and one in CA.
The one in NC, which is where the call center servers are, has no issues with email buttons becoming active.
The one in CA, every morning when the agents login the email buttons will not become active unless the users do the following workaround
    Start agent.
Run and IE url that was given to me by Cisco.  http://<ipaddress of ccx server/EemUi/index.jsp?port=59015
This will force Java to start and have the java icon appear in the system tray.
    Email buttons become active
Close IE window (which make email buttons grey out again)
    close and restart agent
    Email buttons work.
I only have this issue in the CA office.
I had them ship a desktop to me in the NC office.  I connected it and did NOT have an issue.  Everything works perfectly here.
Is the issue tied to the distance?  Is there some java time out setting I can tweek to make this work.
I didn't have this problem with 8.5 su 2.... it happened after the update to su 3
Anyone seen this?  Cisco has no answer.

I bounced this around the office to get some ideas.  One question - how long is the CA office waiting for the email buttons to become active?  That is, setting the workaround aside, if they wait long enough, do the Agent E-Mail buttons ever become active?    The thinking is that could be a factor as the entire applet is around 40 MB. If connection speed isn't great it could take a while to download which would explain the scenario.

  • Put, Get , Connection buttons greyed out

    Hi All,
I am pretty new to Dreamweaver but not to web development. I
have set up and connected a few sites from my own PC. It all goes
just like it says in the manuals.
But I got called into a client site who have an existing site
set up in Dreamweaver. The DW person left and the current person
wanted some coaching. Well the Code, Split, Design views all came
up and we could edit just fine.
But over on the right, above the list of files, all the
buttons (put, get, connection etc.) were greyed out. At first I
assumed the FTP connection was not set up, but it was, because when
we saved files, they saved straight to the live site.
So I went over to look at Site / Manage Sites. The FTP
connection was listed, but many of the other options (all the
categories within Advanced) did not seem to be available. They were
not just grayed out - I could not even see the list of them.
I have been fiddling around at home on my own sites, trying
to figure out how to recreate this and I can't. I can figure out
how to put myself onto live updating (update to remote FTP on Save)
but I don't get the other buttons greyed out just because I am
    working like this.
Any ideas? I'd like to be able to go back there, take them
off live updates and restore the buttons.
    Thanks
    Abigail

Unless one is working in ColdFusion, or has special
    requirements, the FTP &
RDS server option should never be used.

  • Itunes showing all data as other and sync button greyed out

Itunes showing all data as other and sync button greyed out.  I have downloaded and installed Itunes 11 (multiple times) and restored my phone twice already, but I am still not able to sync my Iphone 4 with Itunes.
When I select / de-select Apps on Itunes to remove from the phone the "Apply" button does appear, but after I click it nothing happens.  Then the greyed out "sync" button just appears again.
    Anyone with some advise please?

Try Restarting or Resetting your touch.
Restart: Hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears and turn off your iPod. Press the sleep/wake button and hold it until you see the Apple icon.
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. The red slider will appear first, keep hold everything until you see the Apple icon. Release the buttons.
Check your iPod and see if your music and apps have reappeared. If they do after either option, then resync your iPod.
If neither works, then Restore your touch through iTunes.

Have you noticed any difference between your MacBook and others at the Apple store? Wondering whether this is a configurable setting at the system level, i.e., DPI.
You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:
    * Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    * NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future.

When I open my images in Photoshop CS6 they appear considerably blown out - none of the foreground has color and detail seen here-but you can see a posterize like appearancin the sky. The same thing is happening in Lightroom 5.

The work files are tiffs 16 bit - anything that opens in photoshop has the
same look -jpg,psd etc. My images are printed as digital C print by a lab.
I haven't intentionally changed anything since yesterday when I was editing
images. The appearance is the same in Lightroom where my digital image are
stored. I also have scanned film image that open in adobe camera raw.So
whatever is happening occurs both in Photoshop and lightroom.
You suggest a monitor setting, worth exploring, but could a monitor issue
    affect only photoshop/lightroom doc.

I am running late 2011 Macbook Pro 15in. I am using Photoshop CS6 Ext. and there in no 3D menus. They are there, but I can't select them. Help

The 3D object and camera tools become active when a 3D layer is selected. Use the 3D object tools to change the position or scale of a 3D model; use the 3D camera tools to change the view of the scene. If your system supports OpenGL, you can also use the 3D Axis to manipulate 3D models and cameras.

Try the suggestions here to see if they resolve your problem:

If these don't work you probably have a hardware problem. Visit an Apple store for an evaluation or contact Apple Support.

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. On the other hand, another iOS update might resolve the issue - but how long till that release? at the moment I'm having to use my old 3gs for wifi and 4s for phone!!!

  • Adobe CS5 Suite 'Updates...' button greyed out

    Hi all,
First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section, couldnt see an Adobe Updates section anywhere.
Anyway, I have recently setup an Updates server for the school that I work at, all has gone well, until I today when I tried to test the Update server.
Basically, when I go to Help > Updates... the option is greyed out.  Obviously this causes problems becuase I would like to test the update server that I have setup...I have gone to a few computers and all of them have the same symptom.  I do remember disabling updates in our group policy deployed version of CS5, so I installed CS5 fresh from the CD source, which has no modifications by me - still no luck, button is still greyed out.
Is there something special I have to do 'activate' the updates button? On a similar note, the software is activated too...thought that may have been the problem, but it activates fine...
I'm sure there is a simple fix for this, but after a lot of google searching, I still have come up with 0 answers.
    Appreciate any help on this.
    Glen.

    Hi Glen,
I was having this same problem and came across your post.   I am running CS5 on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.  I don't know if the cause of the problem is the same for you, but the way I resolved it was to right-click on the Photoshop CS5 icon and select "Run as Administrator".  If I don't do that, the "Updates" link in the Help menu is greyed out.
I'm not sure why this is happening, since my account is a member of the Administrators group.
    Regards,
    Jim K.

  • Photoshop performing strangely (menu options greyed out and Save As not working)

Just recently routine tasks have become not so routine.
When I use File/Open everything is greyed out because the Enable field is blank. I can't find any place to set this field permanently to All Readable Documents.
Secondly, when I use Save As, Photoshop wants to save my image in a .eps format unless I save it as JPEG Stereo.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi volrick98,
Your on a mac using photoshop cs6?
The most common cause is having either moved/copied plugins from a previous photoshop version into photoshop cs6
or pointing the Additional Plug-Ins Folder under Plug-ins in the photoshop preferences to a previous version of photoshop.
If you did either of the above, then undo that (remove the copied plugins or uncheck the additional plugins folder)

  • Photoshop CC Window- Extensions Menu Greyed Out

    This is Windows 8.1
In Photoshop CC the Window->Extensions Menu is greyed out. I have installed Adobe Extension Manager CC and installed Adobe Exchange 1.1.0.
When running photoshop CS6 the Windows->Extensions Menu is visible.
Also in Mac OSX 10.9 Photoshop CC the Windows-Extensions Menu is visible.

This seemed to work, as there were missing files:
I checked the folder CEPServiceManager4 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEPServiceManager4) and CEPServiceManager.exe was missing along with libcurl.dll, libeay32.dll, ssleay32.dll. These dlls are used for network access.
Uninstall  all the Adobe CC products using Prorams and Features
Go to C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Adobe and delete the OOBE folder.
Go to C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Temp and delete all the files/folders, you will not be able to delete some so ignore these.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins and copy out any or your own plugins.
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins and copy out any or your own plugins.
Use the the Creative Cloud cleaner tool http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
    Reinstall the CC apps.
Start Photoshop CC and if it asks to copy the Photoshop CS6 settings do this. It may not be necessary.
    Exit Photoshop CC
Copy back our own plugins into  C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins and C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Plug-ins.
This seems to have solved the problem.

  • Photoshop CS6 Ext spontaneously disables 3D feature...

I subscribe to Creative Cloud and while Ai has proven to be exceedingly crashy, Ps CS6 Ext et al, have performed quite nicely... until today.
I was working yesterday with Ps, Ai, Id, and Br, all at once, going back and forth from one app to the other (working on an art book) without any problems at all.
All of a sudden, the next day I get the following alert when launching Ps CS6 Ext:
What th'heck hardware could it be referring to since I have not installed or uninstalled anything at all! My graphics card appears to have more than sufficient memory, as shown below, and do not experience any problems with 3D functions in any other app:
I downloaded the latest version of the graphics driver as suggested in the alert but to no avail; I still get the alert shown above.
I'm stumped. Any thoughts as to why this has ocurred?
Thank you and Holiday Cheers to all!

If you have a desktop system, you can look into upgrading your video card. For 3D work we suggest a card with 1GB VRAM or higher.".

Thank you, Steve; as a matter of fact the system info does list "Video Card Memory 256"; I'm on PS CS6 Ext v13.1—and as I write, another update for PS CS6 Ext is in progress—13.1.1; again with no warning of (possible) system requiremements.
I had worked on 3D projects on 11/17/2012 and the update—30.1—took place on my PC on the 26. I had not worked on 3D since but had not received any alerts until a few days ago when I opened a file to work on and—BAM!—got the alert as posted above, which I think is odd.
I visited the link you posted ("..changed enforcement..."). It would have been considerate if Adobe provided an alert at the time of downloading the update so as to warn Creative Cloud subscribers, et al, of (possible) disruptions of features' use due to system requirements.
I guess I am expecting to get pears from an apple tree.
I am now forced—thanks to a *******' update without proper warning—to go out and purchase a new graphics card. Please pass on that there is at least one person very ticked off at Adobe.
You get Holiday Cheers. Adobe gets 2 fingers up its nose.
