Photoshop CS6 missing from launchpad

OK, this has been making me crazy for quite a while now.....
System Info:
MacBook Air
13-inch, Mid 2012
Processor  2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory  8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000
Serial Number  irrelevant
Software  OS X 10.9.4 (13E28) (I am not into beta-testing operating systems, so I am waiting for the official release of Yosemite before upgrading from Mavericks)
I upgraded my complete Creative Suite installation a while back from CS5 to the CS6 1-year subscription. During all that time, I was able to find both versions of Photoshop (CS5 and CS6) in my launchpad. But once I followed Adobe's directions and updated to Creative Cloud, I can no longer find Photoshop CS6 there. I can locate it in the Applications folder in the Finder and run it from there, but it is not anywhere in Launchpad. All of my Adobe graphics and design apps are grouped together there, and CC simply replaced CS6 in that group, and it appears to have deleted all CS6 icons from Launchpad...... something which seriously ticks me off because it makes me feel like Adobe has hijacked my control over MY computer.
There is absolutely NO NEED for Adobe to do this, and there are still times I would prefer to use one version over the other. I paid for the CS6 upgrade..... where did it go...... and how to I get it back to my Launchpad so that I can use it more easily? BETTER YET.... since a quick Google search will turn up any number of similar complaints, why doesn't Adobe just right their wrong in the next update? But absent that, can anybody give me a simple set of directions to follow to make my CS6 applications reappear in Launchpad?
Sorry for sounding so grumpy about it, but this was just wrong of them to do this.

Same thing is happening with me, I have certain CC programs installed for school, but I want to have the CS6 versions installed as well.  Spent the better part of this afternoon refreshing/restarting the Launchpad in the hopes of all my Adobe apps being visible.  I hope this issue is fixed soon.

  • How do I delete Adobe Photoshop CS6 Trial from my MacMini?

How do I delete Adobe Photoshop CS6 Trial from my Mac Mini? I was upgrading to Adobe Photoshop CS6 not extended. So now I have Adobe Photoshop CS5, CS6, and CS6 extended. My computer is running very slowly. Are all these programs large? Can I delete all but the CS6 and how do I keep the photos I've done in CS5 in CS6 if I want to delete the CS5?

Your photos won't be affected by uninstalling anything.  Neither Photoshop nor Bridge keep, import or store any image files.  They are all wherever you installed them. (Unlike the crappy Apple iPhoto application, which hides your images from you inside the application package .)
    Two very important caveats:
1.— Never drag any Adobe applications or their folders into the trash!  Always use the Adobe Uninstaller installed by default with each application.
2.— The time to uninstall an older application is BEFORE installing newer versions of the application.  The reason for that is that the Adobe Uninstaller can and in all likelihood will damage later version installs.
If you want to reclaim HD space, your best bet now is to uninstall all versions, including the most current one, then run the CSCleaner Tool, which you can search from and download for free from the Adobe downloads site, then Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility, then re-install the latest and most current versions.  Finally, Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility once again.
Remember that Photoshop 14.x, which would have been "CS7", but now will be "CC", is scheduled to be released on June 17, less than two weeks from today,

How do i install my photoshop cs6 extened from the disc?

if you install the photoshop trial it should be the extended version.
if you have a license for the extended version, the trial should activate to the extended version.
if you have a license for the standard version, the extended trial should activate to the standard version.

I have been told by Adobe that CS6 will be available for the foreseeable future, also, Adobe has committed to making CS6 compatible with the next release of both OSX and Windows, so at a minimum, I would expect CS6 to be available for at least the next year.

  • How do I get the trial version for Photoshop CS6 extended from the Creative Cloud Trial

    Hello ...
Plz I wanted to downlad the trial version of Photoshop CS6 Extended and I followed this link
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop&loc=en_us
Then I chose this option : Option 2: Join Creative Cloud and download now (Recommended - it's free)
Then the adobe application manager has been installed and the photoshop CS6 started to be installed automaticaaly and after it done , I found it the standard version not the Extended ... So how and where can I get the Extended version for both 32 bit and 64 bit?
Your prompt reply is highly appreciated
    Thank you ....

So if you download the trial from the trial page at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop you get Photoshop CS6 Extended.  When you then remove the trial and reinstall from the Adobe Application Manager with your trial Creative Cloud you only see the Standard version?
If this is so you can try reviewing your installation logs by following the steps listed in Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.  Although your 30 day trial has already begun.  I would recommend for now you just remove the installation and install from the trial page so that you can try the extended features.

  • Photoshop CS6 upgrade from CS4 continually asks for serial number.

I purchased an upgrade from Photoshop CS 4 to Photoshop CS 6 directly from Adobe in December of 2012. (My version of CS4 was originally purchased by me as part of a CS4 Web Premium Suite.)
My CS4 version has worked since 2009 with no licensing issues.
I did not install the upgradeto CS6  immediately, I just installed it in August of this year, but I do not think that the problem stems from my delay in installation.
What happens is that every 6-8 times that I open the program, I get a screen asking me to "License Creative Cloud", which I do NOT want.
The only options I am given are: Join Now, License This Product, or Continue Trial.
If I simply X out of the screen, Photoshop CS6 will not open at all.
If I click: License This Product, I get a sign-in screen that asks for my serial number, which I fill in and then my program opens.
I have tried customer support 3 times - one chat and 2 phone calls (all lasting at least 1 hour each time) and I am not getting the correct help to solve this issue.
I am extremely frustrated and outraged that I am bothered by this stupid issue.
Please help me to stop this screen about Creative Cloud from appearing and from having to constantly input my serial number.

  • My Photoshop CS6 disappeared from my screen.  I can't get it back.

CS6 disappeared from my screen while I was in mid-edit.  When I try to open CS6 now nothing happens.  Adobe has been sending me prompts about some sort of trial period option.  I ignored the prompts.  I assumed they were trying to sell me some new software or participation in their Cloud service.  I do not need any additional software at this time.  But now I'm guessing these Adobe prompts were a warning of some kind.  I have been under the impression that I purchased CS6 and didn't need to take any further action to continue to use it.  I'm confused.  I need to get back to my photo editing ASAP.  What do I do now?

    Hello!
So, you did purchase Photoshop. When was that, one month ago?
Did you enter the serial number and activate it?
If you did not do so, it was in trial mode, and worked for a month, and gave you a prompt to activate.

  • Is Photoshop CS6 different from CS5?

I recently went back to school to expand my career skills and the next class in line for me, is Photoshop. I’m trying to find out if I’m OK with CS5 or if I need to upgrade to CS6. As I just mentioned, I currently have CS5. For a couple classes I completed this year (Flash and Dreamweaver), I was able to use CS5 without any issue, limitations, or instances of “Yeah that can be done, but only on CS6.” I also did not have instances in the class lessons of “You can do this, but not if you’re on CS5.” However, from what I heard/read, Photoshop seems to have had the most significant changes in the CS6 update.
    Here are my questions:
Please, from a technical perspective only, do I need to upgrade to CS6?  Will being on CS5 on my home computer put me at a disadvantage in class when I'm being taught via CS6? Is Photoshop CS6 significantly different from CS5 where if being taught via CS6, I would be lost or very limited on CS5? When you upgraded to CS6 did you feel like you were learning a new program, or was it the same as CS5, just with a few new “nice to have” features?
Again, please provide information from a technical perspective only. If the decision to spend $2000 for CS6, was based on preference, I would have had CS6 a long time ago. Also, please don’t recommend CC because I’m not ready to upgrade to subscription based software yet.
    Thanks!

Have you tried running the trial version of CS6 for 30 days to get a feel for the software and perhaps answer for yourself the many questions you obviously have?

  • I use Photoshop CS6 installed from a serial number, but suddenly won't open and prompts me to renew Cloud membership

I installed Photoshop CS6 through hardware/serial number last year, and suddenly when I try to open up the application, the adobe application manager for Cloud pops up and says I need to renew my subscription, but I'm not using cloud. I did *used* to have Photoshop CC on this computer but not for months, and I've uninstalled all that software. Why can't I open my CS6?

Just answered that one a few hours ago:  Ive got photoshop CS6 in my computer but when I tried to open it, it opened as Photoshop CS6 Extended and is asking me if I want to license this software so I can no longer access Photoshop. Can anyone help at all?
You should see a prompt to "License this Software". You might see it on the Trial Screen.
Click on that, sign in if asked, then click on the "I have a serial number" option or you maybe able to do that directly.
Once your serial number is entered, your software is licensed and activated.

  • Photoshop CS6 disappeared from my Mac!

My Photoshop completely disappeared from my laptop. The photoshop icon on the dock is gone and now it is just a question mark. The rest of Creative Suite is still there. What happened to it?? I originally downloaded the Creative Suite through my university, so I can't reinstall it.

So, you did purchase Photoshop. When was that, one month ago?

If you did not do so, it was in trial mode, and worked for a month, and gave you a prompt to activate.

  • Adobe Bridge CC 'Tools Load Files Into Photoshop Layers' missing from menu.

    Hi,
After updated to bridge CC the 'Tools > Load Files Into Photoshop Layers' has simply disappeared from the menu! Is there a plug in that I'm missing or is this something similar to how the Output module works, where you have to install the files manually?
    Thank You

I uninstalled all Adobe products -> reboot -> reinstall; which didn't work.
So I had to uninstall all Adobe products again, then use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner, reboot & reinstall everything again; then it finally worked.
This seems to be a regular thing since the introduction of Adobe CC, almost every new update or new versions breaks functionality & requires a complete uninstall -> reinstall process.

  • Images retouched in Photoshop are missing from Aperture browser

Hi! I'm new here! I'm panicked because: my hard drive died (power outage), I replaced the hard drive, I restored my Time Machine backup, and it did not restore all my images; in each of the 5 most recent project folders, the only images missing are the ones that were retouched in Photoshop and brought back into Aperture (the "finals"). The browser displays these stacks with the master on the left, and a white dotted-line outline with nothing in it where the retouched image used to be. When I double click on the empty image, I get the notorious dark red field with "Unsupported Image Format" in the main viewer area. (This used to happen occasionally and was solved by quitting Aperture and restarting, but doesn't correct this problem.) I am using Aperture 2.1.4. An Apple tech instructed me to do a "restore library", and this process eliminated the white outline so that now there is no indication that any files are missing at all. But two weeks of hard earned work is lost. I never used the vault but Time Machine should have done a thorough backup, no? Any thoughts? Suggestions?

The raw fine tuning controls are camera specific. For some sensors not all controls are available, see this document:  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7481
Note:   Some controls in the RAW Fine Tuning area of the Adjustments inspector and the Adjustments pane of the Inspector HUD appear dimmed if these settings are not available for use with images derived from a particular RAW file format. Some camera models can create multiple types of RAW file formats, and different controls may be available for each of these RAW file formats.
Using these controls, you can fine-tune your RAW decoding settings on an image-by-image basis. Aperture also enables you to save your customized RAW decoding settings as effects or as the default settings always used with a specific camera, so they are easily applied to newly imported images. For more information about saving your custom RAW Fine Tuning settings as the default for a specific camera, see Setting the Camera Default.
If the RAW Fine Tuning controls do not appear, the selected photo is from a previous version of Aperture. You must first reprocess the image using the most current RAW image processing. For more information, see An Overview of Reprocessing Photos.
For example, I am seeing all Raw Fne uning controls for my dng-files from the Lumix FZ28, but not for the Canon EOS 5D Mk II:

  • Bridge CS6 Missing from Master Collection

I installed Master Collection CS6 but noticed that Bridge CS6 was not installed. I reran the installer and checked to see if it was listed as an application available to install and it was not. I checked the website and it shows Bridge being part of MC so I am not sure why it's not installing or not even giving me the option to install. I tried to uninstall everything (using the uninstaller) and start over without any luck.
    Here are my system specs:
    Mac OS 10.6.8
MacPro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
    16GB RAM

We would require the install logs to locate why the Bridge is not getting installed.
Please check this link to locate the log files:- http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html
Put the log file on "Pastebin.com" and provide the link here for further analysis.

  • "Edit in Photoshop Elements" missing from windows context menu.

How do I get the "Edit in Photoshop Elements" back in my context menu? I think what happened was that after installing PSE 13 I uninstalled PSE 12 and that may have removed the context menu item. Just guessing. Is there a way to add it back without re-installing PSE 13?

Right click on a photo file of the type that you will want to open in PSE. In the context menu, mouse over Open With to open the menu. Select "Choose default program" and in the window that opens select PSE 13 if it appears in either Recommended or Other. If it isn't shown, choose Browse and navigate to the PSE 13 .exe file in Programs/Adobe/Photoshop Elements. If you want files of this type to always open in PSE when double-clicked, check the box "Always use the selected program". If you want PSE 13 to only appear in the Open With menu, be sure the box is not checked. Click OK.
