Using Photoshop CS6 and after printing approx. 10 cards on an Epson R3000 printer the program gives me a dialog box saying "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." Even after closing and reopening the program, the print command is greyed out so I cannot select any printer. This also happens with a Brother laser printer. Both printers will produce a test page out side of the Adobe product. Help!
I cannot get any help either. I get the message "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." I have reinstalled all drivers, powered off/on all printers (2 of them - a Brother HL - 4040cn and an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 - which all worked fine until this morning). There appears to be no path to a solution. I have read all the forums and tried about 20 different suggestions all to no avail. Reboots, changing cables, reinstalling printers and drivers and Photoshop CS6 - ALL TO NO AVAIL. On a macbook pro retina with 10.10.3. This issue is out there and some get solutions - but not all - that's my crowd...the not all crowd. I have yet to be able to print from CS6 any more. This is a show stopper and my patience is wearing thin. And I'm tired of stupid questions like "is your printer powered on?" give me a break. This appears to be an adobe photoshop cs6 problem - as I can print from every other application. Anyone have any ideas? Adobe should have something?... Adobe system info below:

PHOTOSHOP CS6 GRANDEZZA PENNELLO
avete qualche soluzione?

PHOTOSHOP CS6 BRUSH SIZE
who is dear to me solve my problem?
usually my quick way to reduce or enlarge the diameter of the brush (for example, if I am acting on a layer mask) is ctrl + alt and move the mouse to the left / right. in other cases, act directly on the board brush.
as you will see from the photo is the range of the exponential scale of the brushes in photoshop CS6 and so it is unmanageable. working with large photos interests me especially the last part, and then I would like the scale from 0 to 5000 px grow evenly (for example there is now a 84 px there were 2500 px).
you have any solution? You'll have better luck here:

Help with Photoshop Cs6 Image size
I am using Photoshop Cs6 on a MacBook Pro with retina display. I'm working on an image that is 72 dpi and 1000 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall. When I hook my laptop up to my external monitor, the image is a nice size. However, when I disconnect it and look at it on my laptop it is way to small. I have to zoom in on the image on my laptop to see the detail and then the graphics are distorted. Can you please help me?

Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Canon printer problem!!
Use Photoshop CS6 to edit and print (try to print) to a new Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. Photoshop is up to date and the Mac runs OS 10.8.5 - Canon printer driver is current at ver. 11.7.1.
When I print from Photoshop to the Pro-100 (let's say a 4X6 landscape snapshot to 4X6 borderless paper) the printer starts up and moves the paper out about 4 inches and then prints the
first two inches of the image, stops and ejects the paper!. I've tried different versions of printer the printer driver and made sure every things is up to date. However, I can print from MS Word,
Nikon Capture NX2, or Canon's own Print Studio Pro and it works fine. Canon is no help because if it works OK with their Print Studio Pro then it's not their issue - I tend to agree with them.
The same thing happens print from Photoshop to 5X7 or 8X10 paper - it gets ejected so far and then only prints part of the image. I've searched the Internet and posted in Forums but can't find
where any one would have the same problem. What I'm hoping for here is someone at from Adobe who's knows Photoshop tech stuff will post here with suggestion because there is no more
phone support for Photoshop CS6. I'd like to really keep this printer and get Photoshop to work with it but if I can't I'm going to offer it up free to a good home! JM DavisThanks for your answer, indeed this fixed the problem. Quite stupid I did not see this myself

Photoshop CS6 Options Bar Issue - OSX
Hello,
I am using Photoshop cs6 on my Mac and I hm having trouble with the options bar in the way. When I open two or more windows within Photoshop the options bar is covering up the X's that allows me to close them out and the tabs themselves. I have attached an image to show the problem. I have tried to move the option bar, but it seems that Photoshop wont allow me to do this. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue or knows how to fix it.
Thanks,
HanIt looks like the tool options bar isn't docked below the menu bar.
You should be able to drag the tool opions bar by the tab on the left side up until you see a blue line and let go to dock the tool options bar.
below is from a windows machine, but as far as i know it should work on a mac as well. -
Photoshop CS6 & Doc Size & File Size???
Working on a collage and have a relatively scall document, 6"x10" at 300dpi and used the Place command to add images and arrange and have 14 layers. The images were resized to fit using the Transform scale too. Was watching the document size at the lower left of the document window and it showed that the Doc was 34.3 M/178 M. Looked good so I went to save the beast as a PSD. At 75% of the save it threw an error message saying the document was greater than 2GB in size. Hmm, why did the doc size show otherwise. So ended up saving as a PSB whic worked. But the responsiveness of my system went to hell until I shut down Photoshop. I mean it was almost unresponsive. Starting Photoshop again, opening the PSB and making a few changes and my system was flying again. So maybe processing the PSD then throwing the error managed to grab all the resources.
So maybe there are two issues I have seen, one is Photoshop reporting the wrong doc size and the other bad error processing?
Photoshop CS6 with the latest patch applied, Windows 7 x64 with 16GB RAM, i7 processor.
Here are a couple of screen shots that show the doc size problem

I appreciate your desire to make Photoshop work the way you want it to, but why not consider placing the images as flattened raster layers? Work at a higher resolution if you're concerned about losing quality in moving them around and rotating them, but you should really ask yourself: Why do I want to fight with this ridiculous "smart object" embedding scheme and fight with such a huge file size instead of doing it the prudent way and ending up with a file that's much more efficient?
Noel
I can not answer for Mike but I can tell you why I do collages some what like Mike placing user image file in as they are. Populated Collages done that way are still Photoshop Layer Documents and can be tweaked by the user. If you flatten and change image files on the user you destroy work that they have done creating layered images so they can be tweaked using these layers. The way I look at it is populated collages are works in progress untill they ready for final output. Flattening and Pasting in resized image are destructive processes and may even change composition by croping images. I feel it best not to distroy users work if at all posible. Let the user do that if they wish to. Using Smart Object let user use any image file they want, Any size, resolution and Image format that Photoshop support. If the user chooses to use RAW files, PSD files or any other it their choice and they may have a good reason to use PSD files for a given collage. When the collage is ready for final output the user is free to flatten and save a compressed jpeg if the wish to save disk space and keep a copy of the collage. They do not have to save a layered collage if they don't wish too. They only need to that if the batch process collage for later tweaking or the want to continue to work on the collage at some future date. You don't fight you use smart object. They are only huge if you save layered files their rendered layers are not huge. If the filel is falttened the total rendered flat layer is just canvas size. -

You can also use a FTP client (or your browser if it supports FTP) and download from the Adobe FTP server (ftp.adobe.com). The files are in /pub/adobe/cs6/downloads :
Windows (launch the .exe which will open the 7z file):
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/cs6/downloads/Photoshop_13_LS6.7z
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/cs6/downloads/Photoshop_13_LS6.exe
Mac :
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/cs6/downloads/Photoshop_13_LS6.dmg
Previous versions are also available in /pub/adobe/photoshop/win and /pub/adobe/photoshop/mac

Photoshop CS6 Colour Management Printing issue
Hi,
We use Photoshop and 2 x Epson 9800 printers to print our images, we used to use CS4 and have recently upgraded to CS6.
We are having a problem with the “Colour Management” settings in the Printer Settings window. We choose for Photoshop to Manage Colours and select our ICC profile and Rendering Intent and Black Point. Our problem is that these settings reset each time we switch between our 2 printers back to “Photoshop Manages Colours” so we have keep selecting the same settings over and over again. This never happened on CS4.
How do we save these settings so that they do not reset each time we switch between printers.
I don’t think it has any relevance but we have our printer’s settings set to “No Colour Management” as the warning states.
Kind Regards
StevenYou possibly need to add the profiles for your printer first.
In LR select 'other' in the profile dropdown for the color managment. In the list check all the profiles you need for your printer.
When you select a printer profile in LR and let LR manage the colors make sure to turn off the color management in your printer driver settings.

Bug in Photoshop CS6 Beta: Cannot print
When trying to configure the print settings, Photoshop will crash every time saying, "Photoshop has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." Tried several times. Eventually had to revert to CS5 to get the printing done (which worked flawlessly, as always).
Windows XP (32 bit) SP3; CPU Athlon Dual-Core 64 X2 6000+; RAM 4 GB installed, 3 GB used; graphic card AMD Radeon HD 2600 Pro (AMD Catalyst Display Driver from March 2012 installed); monitor Dell Ultra-Sharp 2407WFP-HC (24", 1920×1200 px) connected via DVI, no second monitor; printer Epson Stylus Pro 3800 (Epson printer driver v6.61 installed) connected directly via USB 2.0, no other printer, no network.Don't know if this will help much but at least you can use it to check a document's filepath without throwing an error. And maybe tell if the problem is with the Photoshop DOM.

When I print in Photoshop CS6 the image prints narrower than stated image dimension.
When I make a print from CS6 the image on paper is narrower than the stated dimension in the program. The height of the image is faithfully reproduced. I know that there must be a preference setting to correct this but I can't remember which one it is.
I just finished watching a segment of Luminous Landscape's Camera to Print and Screen 2 video series on printing to canvas. Problem Solved; I feel foolish that I didn't mention that I was printing-on-canvas as the solution to my dilemma would have been obvious. I measured a canvas print that I did last week and it has shrunk even more than when I first measured it. I have since printed large images on Epson enhanced matte and the dimensions were spot on. Thank you for your responses and great job on the video.

Getting lines in prints Photoshop CS6
Hello,
I am getting lines in my prints from PhotoShop CS6.
My printer is the Canon MX522.
Ive noticed that printing from other *dumb* programs such as Microsoft Paint the images look fine BUT with photoshop the images print ultra fast and have lines. It looks like note taking paper. How do I fix this? I am guessing this is some kind of Printer quality setting????Yes, it might make sense if the driver has different code paths for different print APIs, or if the driver has a bug in it's color management code, etc.
The application just sends an image and some metadata (color profile, placement within the printable area, etc.) - the driver then turns that image into commands for the printer.
And we have seen this sort of driver bug before, with a Canon printer IIRC. -
I can't print with Photoshop cs6.
I can't print with Photoshop (CS6). My printer (HP iP6700D) works correct with every program, except Photoshop. When I choose File>Print, there appears only an error-message. And the command-line turns into grey.
In the meanwhile I detected the problem. I made a new user account in windows and now it works correctly. So it isn't a photoshop problem but probably a register error. I have to find out furtherThanks for your reaction.

Lightroom won't open photoshop CS6.. Edit in Photoshop doesn't work
Lightrrom 4.2 can't use the right click, "edit in" photoshop CS6. I have tried edit, preferences, and created a Preset and pointed it to the CS6 photoshop.exe... still a no-go. Help!!!
I had this problem. You must run Lightroom as administrator - even if the account you are in has administrator priviliges.
Test if this is the problem you are having by opening lightroom in administrator mode:
Open Windows explorer and navigate to where the lightroom.exe file is located.
Usualy in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.4
Right click on lightroom.exe and select "Run as administrator" from the pop up menu.
Test by selecting a photo and selecting the "Edit in Adobe photoshop CS6" option.
If this works then close lightroom and go back to the "lightroom.exe" folder location,
rightclick on the lightroom.exe file but select "properties", then select the "compatibility" tab and
select "change settings for all users" button.
A box called compatibility for all users should appear, at the bottom there is a checkbox "privilige level"
make sure the "run this program as administrator is checked".
Close lightroom and reopen it.
Hope this helps. -
Edit in Photoshop CS6 Crashes Photoshop
Hey!
Using Lightroom 4.4 on a Macbook Pro with 10.8.2 installed. Every time I chose a photo (or photos) from Lightroom and select any of the "Edit in Photoshop CS6" options, it will open Photoshop, temporarily open the images, and then crash Photoshop completely.
Any suggestions?I am baffled. I have uninstalled all the Adobe products on my computer/reinstalled, set up a new catalog in Lightroom, tried having them both open at the same time prior to selecting edit in Photoshop, but it still happens every time.
I did find out that selecting "Open as Smart Object in Photoshop" does not crash it though, which I thought was strange.
Any input?
