Photoshop cs6 scanner help

Hi. I'm currently still a bit of a beginner when it comes to photoshop, but I've been drawing traditional for a while. I'm wondering, what kind of scanner should you use for photoshop cs6? (Preferably moderately cheap since I'm mostly a hobbyist)
I've been considering to buy an Epson, but I'm not quite sure yet. What do you think about it? Any help/suggestions is appreciated!

You downloaded the twain plugin referenced here and put it in the 32 bit version photoshop cs6?
(twain from photoshop doesn't work on the 64 bit version of photoshop cs6)

Photoshop CS6 / Scanner Software

We are using Photoshop CS6 (Windows 8, 64 Bit) + Epson Perfection 3200 Scanner.
Please, can you recommend a scanning Software for our work? Probably there is a software on the market with a Photoshop plug in?

Since installing Photoshop CS6, scanner cannot be launched via Photoshop Elements 8

I have recently installed Photoshop CS6. I already had Photoshop Elements 8 on my PC. Before installing CS6, I could quite happily scan photos etc via my scanner, from within Elements 8, but now when I go 'File > Get Photos and Videos > From Scanner' within Elements 8 (with Photoshop CS6 not open at the time, incidentally), I get a message saying 'Software for this device could not be launched. The device is not connected or is busy'. I would like to be able to scan from either Photoshop applications. What is the problem here?

Thanks Sudarshan Thiagarajan, Hudechrome and Curt Y. The printer/scanner/copier is an old Brother DCP-115C. I do have the latest driver installed. Due to its age, Brother stopped updating the driver ages ago.
Unless I'm missing something, why would anyone suspect the driver being at fault, anyway? The scanner worked fine from within Elements 8 - until I installed Photoshop CS6, from which point it continues to scan fine from within CS6, using either the WIA or the TWAIN systems (I needed to download the TWAIN plug-in for CS6 - it is no longer contained on Photoshop CS6's installation disc), but I can no longer scan from within Elements 8 anymore.
I'm just wondering, is one particular Photoshop application set as the 'default' application for the scanner (and, since CS6 was installed, this has taken precedence over Elements 8), or are you supposed to be able to use the scanner from within more than one Photoshop application on your PC system, at any one time, provided, of course, you have only one Photoshop application open? I expect it is the latter, as I am able to print from either Photoshop application still. As this is the case, I assume this means you should be able to scan from either Photoshop application also.

Try Downloading and installing the updates manually.

Problems with cropping in Raw editor- Photoshop CS6. Help!

When I use raw editor in Photoshop CS-6 and I wish to crop the image. When doing this the crop box is at a fixed aspect ratio. How to I change it so my crop box is unconstrained? Just make sure this is in raw editor not Photoshop. My photos were taken on an Olympus OM-D, and I’m running the 7.1 raw plug in.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Are you talking about Camera Raw 7.1?
If you are, I found that when in the crop tool, and if I have the settings set to "Normal" that I can move and "draw" the handles in any shape that I want. Having "constrain to image" checked or unchecked doesn't seem to affect the crop proportions if you just want to draw your own unique crop shape.

Photoshop CS6 Need Help

Getting an "unsupported blend mode" error message when attempting to open a .psd file just created in the same program on the same computer. Another similar file opens successfully - what could be causing the file opening error on some .psd files and not others?

Sounds like your download got corrupted. You can try downloading it again.

Is the online help the only way to see the help files?
No help application as in photoshop cs5?
Will there be a pdf for viewing when no internet connection is available?

I took a look.
Here is what I did I use the above link Photoshop CS6 Quick Reference Guide. checked Keyboard shortcuts and click the Update button.
After a short while the columns were updated.
I opened updated PC Photoshop CS6 use Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts and use the set pull-down menu and chose Photoshop Defaults to make sure Adobe default were set.
I the started to compare the shortcut listed in the Edit keyboard dialog to the ones listed in the quick guide. When I reach row 3 Actual Pixels the Edit Keyboard dialog surprised me for it listed two shortcuts "Ctrl+1" and "Alt+Ctrl+0".
So I closed the dialog to try them.
First I use Ctrl+0 fit image on screen to enlarge as small image on screen in a floating window. It worked differently then in previous version of Photoshop. The image area was one pixel narrower and one pixel shorter the previous releases so the scroll bars were active where previous release they were inactive. So I dragged out the window to deactivate the scroll bars.
Then I tried Ctrl+1 it did zoom to 100% but it to made the image area one pixel narrower then it should be and one pixel shorter then the image area should be so the scroll bars were active till I dragged out the floating window to inactivate the scroll bars and show the whole image.
I then tried ALT+Ctrl+0 the image was at 100% and remained 100% it resize the image are 1 pixel shorter then it should and one pixel narrower the it should be and the scroll bars were once again active. Previous versions of Photoshop resized floating windows correctly.
However both shortcuts listed in the Edit Keyboard Dialog did zoom to 100%. The Quick Reference Guide listed No PC shortcuts for View Actual Pixels it only listed cmd+1 for the Mac so first two row look good third row not good.

All I have is this: Using the cloning tools on video from the Course Photoshop CS4 Extended for Video
The video is for members, but here is the script. The clone tool can only be used on one frame at a time.
It works the same as cloning a picture, except you can do so on a frame.
" In this movie, we're going to look at using the Clone Stamp tool on video. This is great for instances like this, where if we playback the video, we can see that there are water spots on the camera and that's not desirable. So what we can do is select the Clone Stamp tool in the Tools panel and then come over here to the trees, hold the Option key on the Mac, the Alt key on the PC, until I get these crosshairs here and then click to copy data and then just paint to paint from that source. And you might need to continually resample and repaint.
But in this way, we can get rid of blemishes like this in our footage. There are some pretty heinous stains here over the grass, so we can click and sample those and pretty soon we have some nicely cleaned up footage here. Now a couple of downsides of this to be aware of. If we go to the next frame, we'll see that that cloning job we did, only applied to that one frame. Also be aware that if we convert this to a Smart Object, then the Clone Stamp tool will not work.
Nevertheless, if you have a blemish in your video, something that shouldn't be there, again, a boom mike or a cable wire that type of thing, the Clone Stamp can be a great asset to be able to remove those on a particular frame."

Problem updating Photoshop CS6

Having a problem updating Photoshop CS6, the error message U44M1P7 appears. The other Adobe applications have had no problem updating, only Photoshop CS6. Help please.

I reinstalled CS6 on top of itself the install gave me three options install with a serial number, Start my subscription and install as a trial. I tried the start my subscription option. But the install did not find a CS6 subscription for my userid. I did not want to install with my CS6 serial number so I choose Trial the second attempt. The Install installed CS6 Extended but not as a trial rather it was activated for Photoshop CS6 menu help showed Deactivate not activate. Using CS6 menu Help>Update started Adobe Application Manager and it it found update 13.1.2 was available. So I left CS6 extended activated clicked update and closed CS6. The Application Manager updated CS6 to 13.1.2 without any problem. However when I tried to start Adobe Bridge CS6 I received several pop up errors stating msvcp110.dll was missing, try reinstalling the application. The same pop up error also happen when I started Adobe Bridge CC msvcp110.dll is missing try reinstalling the application. Searching this forum I found that this is a common problem with Adobe installs. That I should run Adobe vcredist_x64.exe that would fix the problem. So I searched for it and ran it and it did fix the Adobe install problems for now Bridge CS6 and CC now starts without any problem.
CS6 is now CS6 extendes at version 13.1.2... Thank you.

Par exemple, j'applique un alinea de 18px sur 3 calques textes. Je suis obligée de le faire en sélectionnant les calques un par un, car lorsque je sélectionne les 3 calques pour appliquer l'alinea sur les 3 à la fois, cela n'applique pas le même alinéa que précédemment, et il est indiqué "7,54 px" alors qu'ils ont chacun un alinéa de 18px.
Cela ne faisait pas cela sur mon Photoshop CS5.
C'est très difficile à expliquer par écrit, j'espère que quelqu'un aura eu le même problème et saura comment le résoudre!

You have the perpetual license version of photoshop cs6 and not the subscription version?
Have you updated photoshop cs6 to
(Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6)
13.0.1.3 (windows)
or
13.0.6 (mac)
and then reset the photoshop cs6 preferences?
You'll have to test it out on newly created text layers.

Help with panaramic photos in Photoshop CS6

I have Photoshop CS6 and I cannot create a panaramic photo for class. I've tried to auto-merge layers and that didn't work. I tried to Merge to HDR Pro and that didn't work. I also opened these files in Lightroom and right clicked to merge in Photoshop and I got an error message that says "Photomerge.jsx file not found. Please help.

Sounds like something is preventing script access/ execution. Check your virus scanner and turn it off.

Scanner support in Photoshop CS6 Windows 64bit

Does CS6 restore the twain scanner function on Windows machines that was lost in CS5, or do I have to continue to keep CS4 on my desktop?

The TWAIN support in Photoshop CS6 for Windows is exactly the same as it was in CS5 and earlier. You can download the TWAIN plugin from adobe.com, and install it in the 32-bit version of Photoshop. You will also need to install TWAIN drivers for your scanner by getting the appropriate software from the manufacturer's web site or installation disk. You will need to run the 32-bit version of Photoshop to use your scanner.
There is no 64-bit TWAIN support in Photoshop on Windows primarily because the TWAIN data source manager (DSM) that Microsoft ships with Windows is 32-bit only.
While it is possible for more technically experienced users to download and install a 64-bit compatible DSM to replace the Microsoft version (see twain.org), there are two problems: first, the Photoshop TWAIN plugin is 32-bit only, and will not work in the 64-bit version of Photoshop regardless. But even if it did, and you installed a 64-bit DSM, the second problem is that there are virtually no 64-bit compatible TWAIN scanner drivers (data sources) available from scanner manufacturers (it's a classic chicken & egg problem--there's litte demand for 64-bit data sources, so there are very few 64-bit data sources.)
Dedicated scanning applications like VueScan are popular among people who have more demanding needs for controlling the scanning process, or do a large volume of scanning. The WIA and TWAIN plugins for Photoshop are intended for more casual use, and may be preferable to the expense and overhead of a separate application.
