Photoshop CS6 & Sony UP-DR150 drivers
Hello!
We use photo printer Sony UP-DR150 for our bussiness. But Sony don't make new version of these printer drivers. These drivers are really old. We are working under Mac OS X 10.6.8 as a result. And also we have access for Graphics settings only in Photoshop CS3. But in CS6 we can't change this options at all! But why??? Can you change something for this drivers in CS6 and later? Thank you!
ps. Unfortunately we aren't seing quality alternatives for this printer nowadays. All others brands make really low quality still.
I try using Gutenprint but under 10.8.3 OS X these drivers aren't working with this printer on my Mac. Yes I have second Mac with 10.6.8 but I can't share from 10.8.3 by Net or Wirefire cable. I can't add printer from 10.6.8 and I don't know the reason of that. Also I try sharing by IPP but unsuccessful to.

I have just purchased Acer Aspire R7 (2nd Genre). I have installed Photoshop CS6 as trial. Now when I open any image or drag any image in Photoshop I get this error in the taskbar "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". After that Photoshop doesnt respont and I have to force close it from task manager.

Photoshop CS6 Trial crashes constantly with 3D objects
Photoshop CS6 is extremely unstable for me when I try and do any 3D editing. It crashes when I try to move, scale, and otherwise orient the object. It crashes when I try to do Snap to Ground Plane. When it doesn't crash at Snap to Ground Plane, the command doesn't work and nothing snaps to the ground plane.
Here's a 1 minute video of it crashing. The first part shows that I've already defined the ground plane. The second part shows me wanting to put a peice of furniture into the room and finding the Snap to Ground Plane option. When I click it, the program crashes.

I already have the latest drivers for my HD 5650, and I can't upgrade my video card because it's a laptop.
Any options short of spending $1000+ to get a new video card?

The problem was that I have a Sony laptop with an ATI card, and when I try to download the latest Catalyst from AMD I get an error during install saying that I *have* to get my driver updates from Sony because Sony has configured the video card to work with certain hardware on the laptop in a certain way. The driver I already had was the latest update Sony had for my laptop, so I thought I was painted into a corner - Sony's update is years old and the official ATI update refused to install.
I went and searched and got the Catalyst 12.2 Pre-Certified bundle and luckily that did NOT have the Sony check for some reason. I installed that just fine and it works. So far it doesn't seem to have broken anything. FYI the version is Catalyst 12.2, but the actual video driver is 8.950.0.0
I'm now going to make a seperate post about how I can't get textures and snap to ground plane to work. -
I can no longer use 3D commands in Photoshop CS6 Extended
I have Photoshop CS6 Extended (Ver 13.0.1x64). My desktop is Windows 7 64 Home premium; and Video card is: AMD Radeon HD 5570. The drivers and operating system is updated.
I have been using simple 3D functions like "New 3D extrusion from..." from time to time without any problems until recently. For unknown reasons now when I try to invoke any 3D command, I get the following message: " Could not complete the "New 3D extrusion from selected layer command because of a program error." This ,message gets repeated for any 3D command.
I checked out 3D functionality in Photoshop CS6 32 bit; and Photoshop CS5.5 Extended. Same problem. However, I can access and use all 3D functions in Illustrator CS6. Clearly, therefore, the video card is not the problem. It looks like one of the recent software updates from Adobe must have caused this problem.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONETo use "dictation" as it is called, there are two requirements:

Photoshop Cs6 is hanging when trying to work in 3D when it wasn't before
When I first started using 3D in Photoshop it was working rather smoothly and seemed to chug along fairly fast. Then one day when I was working in it as usual and tried to perform some random action it just started hanging with the spinning blue circle for about 2 or 3 minutes. It continued to do this ever since, sometimes hanging for up to 5 minutes before performing my command. Some actions cause it to hang longer than others, such as creating a new light and changing the diffuse color of a material, which is by far the worst in terms of the amount of time it will hang. I have searched the forums and google and tried all suggestions to any problem that seemed to have a similar nature. The only time that I had a partial success was after I had uninstalled Photoshop, then ran the adobe creative suite cleaner tool, then manually searched through the registry for every reference to adobe and Photoshop I could find and deleted them. I then reinstalled Photoshop and updated it. When I started using it in 3D after that it was running smooth as butter, no hangs or stalls on anything, including creating lights and changing diffuse colors. But my joy was not long lived, as after about 2 hours of use it started to do its usual behavior of hanging again.So I tried that approach again and it did not seem to work a second or third or fourth time. So out of desperation and all out of options, I decided to run process monitor from sysinternals to see if it showed me anything even though I knew that I probably would not understand what it were showing me. I noticed a lot of errors with the results of "name not found" for registry calls, "invalid parameter" for directory quarries, and "no such file" for file reads. But the one that seems to be happening the most whenever the program is hanging is it is trying to open a file from C:\program files\Adobe\photoshop x64\required\CgShaders, but that directory is nonexistent on my system. I was hoping that someone would be able to solve this for me as 3D in Photoshop is a big part of my workflow and I am all out of ideas. I'm going to include the process monitor log file and it will be in pml format which you will need process monitor to read, but it is a very small, portable, and free program which can be downloaded from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645. The Log file Can be downloaded from http://sdrv.ms/Xxcmuu (skydrive) or https://www.box.com/s/jzdmgmdmz7xe47smalv2 (box) .

And as for the GPU crash I did not notice that in there before but I also didn't look for it because every time I looked before it wasn't there, and looking at the date that was when that I was rolling back\uninstalling\reinstalling\trying modded drivers, etc., Which is probably the reason why the gpu sniper crashed.
One interesting thing that you said was whether there is the same failure in a new design as opposed to an existing one. The answer to that is yes and no. To elaborate, when the program was working as it is supposed to eve and creating new lights and positioning them did not cause any slowdown despite the file that I was working on, but after the problem starts occurring it is like a snowball rolling down a hill. Every time I open the file (the one I was working on when the problem started to happen) to continue work on it be sluggish response of Photoshop is still there and only gets worse. If I start over on a new file the program will run much more smoothly, but will still had a slight amount of sluggishness with less intensive task whereas the more intensive task such as working with lights is still moderately sluggish but not to the extent as it was working in the previous file. As you said in your post it seems the father all along I get in my document the more pronounced and time consuming the freezes become. But nonetheless wants the problem has occurred it does not go away I can only lesson that by starting from scratch, which is not very convenient.

It does this repeatedly over and over again, specifically when I tried to work with lights. The weird thing is that there is no directory in required called CgShaders. I see 1 CG.dll & 1 cgGL.dll in the Photoshop (64 bit) directory. To meet that just seems very strange and probably more than a coincidence and probably does not happen on everybody else's system.
This is the process monitor log file that I saved in csv format and edited the first three blocks so that it fit correctly. Open it up in wordpad and you'll see what I mean. This is what I was talking about right above.

Photoshop CS6 won't launch and when it does it's really slow...help?

So my copy of Photoshop CS6 sometimes won't launch and when it does manage to launch fully, it's really slow. I mean ridiculously slow. The only times when I can get it to run even remotely quick is if I shut down my computer, and then restart it and then start up Photoshop CS6 as the first program. Even then it slows down after a while. (And I only have a firefox browser open usually, never more than a couple of tabs at once, so it's not a bandwidth issue)

I also did just recently install the new update Adobe had for Photoshop, so that's up to date.
It's getting really frustrating! I have another program I'm using in the meantime (Paint tool Sai), but I'd really like to use Photoshop CS6.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated!Make sure you updated the drivers from AMD's website, not Microsoft.
Make sure you are running the 64 bit version of Photoshop, not 32 bit.
Disable all third party plugins, and try disabling system utilities (we've seen font managers, antivirus, disk backup software, etc. cause slowdowns due to bugs in those utilities). -
Photoshop CS6 & CC shuts down right after startup
Hello!
I've just got my self new lisence for adobe Lightroom, PS CC & CS6. Previously I had just PS CS5. Problem is that I can't get PS CS6 nor PS CC to start up, or more accurately to stay on more than one second. Now I'm asking help to get just the CS6 to work, as when that problem is solved, I believe also the CC -problem is solved too, as the problem is excatly the same. Lightroom works fine.
What happens when I now start up CS6; everything loads just fine, no errors or anything that is abnormal. At first time when I started CS6, I got a warning message (this is a translation from finnish to english so it might not be to the letter): "photoshop detected graphic cards that are not officially supported. If there are problems, remove the selection from settings, performance settings - use graphics processor". I haven't seen this message later (except when I tried CS6 with different windows account).
When cs6 (or cc) is started there's time about one second to open a menu window, when a window is succesfully opened the program stays on, and I can use any menu window that I want, and I can change any options. Right after menus are closed, the program closes. Mysterious. But, because of that, I'm able to go to the "performance settings" and try different selections - I've tried deselect the "use GPU", and I've tried to use all of the advanced settings (basic, normal, advanced), but the "USE OPENCL" choise is allways grayed out, and i'm not able to select that. Also cs6 detects my gpu right.
I thing this has something to do with GPU as the above message says, I just don't know what to try anymore.
Now what have I tried and what's done (using admin rights):
- updated both nvidia gpu drivers (three different drivers been tried) and intell drivers
- installation and removing
- removed ps cs5
- used adobe cleaning tool
- used two differend registry cleaning tools (cc cleaner / wise cleaner) before installations
- used shift when starting
- disabled the gpu sniffer
- tried logging out from creative cloud
- deleted FNTCACHE.DAT from /system32
- Tried different 3d settings from NVidia control panel only for the photoshop.exe (tried forcing Nvidia GPU, tried different cuda GPU settings

One funny thing more, I opened a pdf -file through explorer in cc and it asked me if i wanted to save the changes before closing application. I couldn't do anything for the pdf file, except to save it. ;]
What I want to say is, CC (or CS6) is not crashing, it's closing itself.

3D does not work in Photoshop CS6 on my Dell i7 laptop

Problems with 3D objects. PS freezes every time I create a 3D object and try to come out of 3D mode or save the file.
TRIED:
Updating driver for ATI Mobility Radeon HD560V display adapter
AMD website auto-suggested and installed HD 4650 (?) driver.
That made PS work a bit better, but other stuff started freezing (Chrome, Bridge)
Went to Dell site and reinstalled HD 560V. Had to uninstall and reinstall Catalyst Control Centre.

Issues with the Surface Pro 3's pen in Photoshop CS6
I used photoshop CS6 with no problems on my old computer that was connected to a graphics tablet.
However, I recently bought a new windows computer called the Surface Pro 3. Everything works perfectly with the trackpad and touch, but I've had some issues with the Surface pen.
The pen can draw on the canvas, but whenever I click something on any of the windows with the pen, the entire application freezes and I would have to click the computer's taskbar at the bottom to unfreeze the application.
It's impossible to work like this. Is there any solution to fix this problem? It says that the version of photoshop I have is Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2If you have Photoshop CS6 version 13.1.2 which is the Subscription version of Photoshop, You shoule Isstall Photoshop CC 2014 on your surface Pro 3. It will work without problems on the surface Pro 3 and you will also have the option have the option to use Photoshop CC 2014 preference 2x UI to scale Photoshop's UI up in size on your Surface Pro 3.
If you do not have a subscription the Perpetual version of windows CS6 should be version 13.0.1.3. In that case the only way to scale Photoshop UI is to have windows do it. You would need to to update your windows 8.1 registry and add an external Photoshop manifest file in your Photoshop CS6 folder. To get the Surface Pro 3 pen to work with Photoshop you would need to install NTig pen device drivers the support the wintab APIs.
You will not be able to use Photoshop without a keyboard popping up the windows onscreen keyboard is too cumbersome. You can use a utility like Touchkey to create Overlay touch keys on Photoshop and use Photoshop without a keyboard.

How to Force Enable 3D Menu Contents in PhotoShop CS6 Extended
Hello I have a weird problem with photoshop cs6 extended
I bought my new laptop HP Pavilion dv6 6170ee which has 2 graphics card 1 is the intel one and the other is the AMD one ( High Performance )
As you can see from the screen shot above my drivers are installed and updated anyway the 3D option in CS6 was working good and it's content was enabled and ready to use , but suddeny after restarting my pc I started cs6 and found out that the contents at 3D Menu is disabled I went for my AMD graphics card control center and made sure that photoshop is running on the ( High Performance ) GPU and here is the screen shot that proffs it
and then I opened photoshop again , choosen Edit , Performace and found that it's still using the Intel Grapics Card ? here is the screen shot
and I have done all what i can do to make the 3D menu content enabled again system restore ( failed ) , Reinstalling windows + Drivers + stuff again ( same problem happpend again after restarting my computer ) and also trying resseting my gpu settings to factory default settings ) all of these was fail , please is there a way to force start photo shop like command line ..etc .

Photoshop CS6 unable to use due to display driver (Intel) problem
Hi
I am experiencing problems using Photoshop CS6 (not extended version). I have recently installed Design standard and I'm not having this problem with Illustrator.
Each time I run PS, I receive a pop up with "display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully been recovered". PS opens but I cannot use it and I have to force end task in task manager.
I have an Asus Laptop (i7) with Windows 8.1, graphics card Intel HD 4400, it also has an NVIDA Geoforce GT 740M graphic card.
so far:
I have installed the latest driver from Intel (10.18.10.3345).
I have re-booted in Safe Mode and can open PS - I receive the message "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled enhancements which use the graphics hardware". I can use PS in safe mode. I then re-boot and can use PS normally, however after another re-boot or awakening from sleep the problem reappears.
I have tried switching to 'Basic' or "Normal' in the advanced settings. The problem occurs again.
I connect this laptop by VGA to an external Dell monitor, however it does not just happen when connected to the external.
Any help in resolving this would be very much appreciated!

Unable to open AVI files in Photoshop CS6
I am running PS6 and want to open and edit AVI files. When I try to do that I get an error message saying "the video file cannot be opened" . This seems to apply to ALL avis - yet I can open and edit MP4, MMV etc. I installed Gspot to track whether it was a codec issue and when I try to open ANY file I get this error message : "Warning: DirectShow crashed while GSpot was attempting to obtain information about a codec. This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem. The codec was tentatively identified as: C:\Windows\system32\imaadp32.acm Unknown video codec #11" I have NO idea where to go from here. I see a site to download the "imaadp32.acm" codec but what about the "Unknown video codec #11". What the heck is that and what do I do about it. Any help would be appreciate, Cliff

I did re-set the prefs - but to no avail
I checked and my graphics driver and audio is all up to date.
No sure how to verify Windows Media Player's hardware acceleration options. I opened WMP Options /Perfformance tab and under Cd the DirX tab is checked.
Running Windows Vista - so does the same caution apply regarding a re-install of Windows Media Components and DirectX ?
Appreciate your help with this somewhat frustrating issue. I am converting some old 8mm film to avi with the hope of doing some edits then burning to DVD.

In Photoshop CS6 the 3D menu is grayed out
I have Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64 Extended and all options under the 3D manu are grayed out. My graphic adapter is nVidia GeForce GTX 650 (it has 1024 MB memory). I have Windows 7 x64 and 8GB RAM.
In Performance settings I have checked to use the graphic processor and in Advanced settings the drawing mode either Basic, Normal or Advanced, it doesn't make a difference.
The drivers for my graphic card are from February.
I just tried to create a 3D postcard and got this message:
Any clues why the 3D doesn't work and what can be done about it?

Video Rect Texture Size: 16384I've made tests with four different 3rd party tools: OpenGL Extension Viewer, GPU Caps Viewer, Compute4Cash OpenCL Diagnostic Tool and Mudlord's Glide3x wrapper tester. All those tools report no problems with my video card driver and OpenGL/CL.
I have contacted nVidia and based on reports from the tools and visual tests from GPU Caps Viewer nVidia support doesn't see a problem with my driver.
I found sniffer_gpu.exe which according to Adobe Help pages is a kind of diagnostic tool and determines whether Photoshop uses the graphic card OpenCL or not. Here is the output:

On the other hand, I have your word that there is no problem with Photoshop not recognizing OpenCL for my card and that nVidia driver has problems. Can you justify this somehow? Perhaps you could provide more details on technical level, or another utility to run and extract details, to at least identify the problem Photoshop has and hopefully solve it on either side.
P.S. During tests there were two things which I noticed, but they are probably not related to the issue:
1. One tool reports the lack of Windows registry key SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows (NT)/CurrentVersion/OpenGLDrivers. But according to your previous statement, Photoshop only uses OS calls, no registry and according to nVidia, this key is not used in Windows 7.
2. During some tests GPU Caps Viewer reports that "OpenCL CPU not supported on the selected platform". This is not complaining about GPU, only about CPU. But Photoshop is complaining about GPU, so it shouldn't be relevant.
