Photoshop CS6 - transfer video .psd to another pc

Hello all,
I am new to the community and hope that someone can help me out.  I have been doing a video timeline project for a college course using Photoshop CS6.  I have my file saved and updated on my laptop.  I attempted to transfer this file to another computer to continue working on it, but unfortunately when I open it on the other computer it only loads one frame and does not load the timeline.  I have ensured that all files are present in their original location but the problem persists.
Any ideas as to if there is a step I am missing when I save my file on the original PC?

Nah. You are missing some CoDec or the system isn't up to snuff to provide hardware acceleration for video playback and only shows the poster frame as it is saved in the file. Since you have not provided any relevant technical info, we can't know anything beyond that.

  • Photoshop CS6 iPhone video editing

Photoshop CS6 has video editing but can not render any video from iPhone 5

    The format is .mov.
When you render it it becomes .mp4.
I do this all day that is the compression understood by many players. I did not say that it does not support the format as it will play fine. I said "it will not render" No corverter needed.
The video from the phone will not render unless you use the Apple TV, iPhone, iPad 4 and newer -720p 29.97 setting instead of the HD1080p that I use normally.
I hope you know how to help me. Please do not give me general answers be specific or tell me "I do not know"
You can always try it at home!
    Thanks for your time

  • Security Update 2013-003 kills Photoshop CS6 with video

Since updating 10.6.8 to Security Update 2013-003, Photoshop CS6's video capabilities are hosed.  If I try to export a video to animated GIF, it pinwheels.  If I import a video in the first place, it now takes much longer to do so.  Making layers from video frames now gets stuck at the Progress bar and I'm forced to cancel it and/or force quit Photoshop.
Just a warning to those who work with video and Photoshop, Security Update 2013-003 may ruin your workflow.

If you have not already done so, you should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums since it's their product for a work-a-round if any.

  • Change Color Selecting Layers in PSE10 for a Drawing from Photoshop CS6 (non-photo) .PSD file?

    Hi Everyone,
I have a drawing that was created in Photoshop CS6 (non-photo) and saved as a .PSD file.  I am able to open the file in PSE10 and see the drawing and select the layers.  I am having trouble with figuring out how to change the colors on each layer in PSE10.  When I select a layer where do I go to change the color of that layer?  Can this be done in PSE10 as this a drawing created in Photoshop CS6 and not a photo?
    TIA,
    ClearInk8

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
Here are the steps I have tried.
I made sure the RGB Color (Image>Mode) was selected.
    I selected the star layer
Next I selected Layer>Created Clipping Mask
Then I selected Color blend mode
    Then I selected Solid Color
When I choose a color the entire canvas fills with the solid color and covers up the drawing.
    What step am I missing?
The small red square outline you have next to the orange color box in the color fill layer I am not see this small icon.

  • I already have Photoshop CS6. Do I get another with Creative Cloud?

I would like to join Creative Cloud for Photoshop only, but I have this application already on my iMac.
Do I need to download another one?

    Hi Potnpan,
Yeah, you can have a desktop subscription to Photoshop CS6 independent of your exisiting license. The subscription would allow you to install on two more computers, that would allow you to install on a total of four different computers.

  • Photoshop CS6 export video to MOV format

I have a few MOV format videos that I need to rotate and re-save with PS CS6.  I've never tried video editing with Photoshop, and this must be the most basic of basic starts in my next career as a film producer.  I assume I just go to Image > Image Rotation as one does with image files?  Then when I export the video, and select QuickTime MOV format, the resulting file does not actually have any video in it -- only audio.  And despite having no video apparently, the file size is huuuge.
So what gives?  Am I doing something wrong?  I have QuickTime viewer installed, but do not have a licence for QuickTime full version.  Is that it?
Shall I just export to mp4 and be done with it?  I would prefer to be consistent... so that I have all MOV files (I won't have to rotate / edit all video files, only some).
    Thanks,
    Mike

I have QuickTime viewer installed, but do not have a licence for QuickTime full version.  Is that it?
Apple has two QuickTime products - QT Player (free), and QT Pro (~ US $29). The installation is for both versions, but with the Pro purchase, you can unlock some additional features, like the ability to do rudimentary editing, and more Export options. I have been told that the Pro version has some additional CODEC's, that are unlocked, but I have my suspicions. However, as I have had the Pro versions on all computers from about 7.1, I cannot even check that out.
Historically, if one has purchased Pro, and used the unlock feature with the S/N, then all point upgrades carry though, so if you had 7.5.5 Pro, and updated that to 7.8, you would still have Pro. Again historically, if they went to version 8, then one would need to purchase another Pro license. Not sure how this will work, when the version 8 does hit for the PC. We will just have to wait and see.
Now, the QT Animation CODEC is a good one, that should work (files WILL be large), and that is what I receive from my contract 3D artists, to use in my Premiere Pro Projects. I would think that should work fine, but you are having issues. As a test, try the PNG (might be called Photo PNG?), and see if you do get your Video. That is also a good choice of CODEC.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Photoshop CS6 (extended)  Video card minimum requirements.

Can you tell me if my video card is adequate for using the 3D feature in CS6 Extended?  The 3D tools don't seem to work.  I get  the message below.  Do I need an updated video card or driver? Let me know if you need more information. Thank You.

The CS6 Minimum requirements are here. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop.html
You need at least 512 MB of video ram to use 3D.
You go to Photoshop's Help Menu and select System Info. I copied and pasted my video card info and as you can see I don't have enough video ram for 3D and it's dimmed out. No driver update will help.
    OpenGL Version: 2.1
    Video Rect Texture Size: 8192
    OpenGL Memory: 237 MB

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended Video Project Help

Ok here is the setup. PS CS6 Ext. Bringing still images into the time line for a video project. Images default to 5 seconds in length. Is there any way to batch change that to like 2 seconds without going through and shortening every image manually? That would be very time consuming with a large amount of images.

Not sure that you can batch process the Duration, after the Stills are on the Timeline.
There should be a Preferences setting, like in Premiere Pro (Adobe's full-featured NLE, Non Linear Editing program). There, you can set the Default Still Duration.
In PrPro, after CS 4, even after the Stills have been Imported into the Project (but before they are dragged to the Timeline), one can select multiple Stills in the Project Panel, and change their Duration en masse. Before then, one had to just Delete the Imported Stills, change the Default Still Duration, and Import the Stills all over - or manually adjust the Duration of each on the Timeline.
Good luck, and hope that PS-Extended has the same controls.

  • How do I move Photoshop cs6 from one computer to another?

Do not attempt copying the installed program, you need to install it on the new computer properly.

  • Help, where are the render preferences in Adobe Photoshop CS6

Okay, I admitt, .... I am an idiot that is new to Adobe Photoshop.
But help the new girl out, here.... Please...
Where are the render preferences in Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6.
I searched Adobe Help in Dutch already but they point me towards options that doesn't excist.
Maybe they were there in Adobe CS5 and I am reading an older version of the documentation...
But in CS6 I can only find the option Render and no Render Preferences...
    Thanks !!

Adobe changed the way video is rendered in CS6. Adobe Media Encoder in now used in CS6 only a subset of the Adobe's full Adobe Media Encoder is included in CS6 is a dll. I do not think you can add new Rendering Presets however you can change some setting when you use the supplied Reddening Presets.  Perhaps if you have the Adobe suite and have the full Adobe Media Encoder you can create some presets and add them to Photoshop Rendering presets.  I seem some compliants about CS6 Quicktime rendering presets lack the power of CS5.  The Rendering presets seem to be stored in sub folders in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder"

File originally created in Photoshop CS6 with "Maximise PSD/PSB File Compatibility" set at "Always".
Document size A4, using Arial Regular. RGB. 8Bits. 72dpi

    Please Help!

Interestingly I have found that if I modify a document in CS6 from an earlier CS3-CS5 document and save it - it works fine. But if I create a new document in CS6 the issue persists.
Looks like I will be modifying old documents for the time being
Would be grateful for some advise eon this.

  • Trying to swap Photoshop CS6 installation to a different computer

I'm attempting to swap Photoshop CS6 from one computer to another. I managed to get the serial number with Belarc, but when I attempted to deactivate the Photoshop CS6 on the 1st computer I am directed to download Adobe Support Advisor which is no longer available.Where do I go from here?

Well it seemed like a simple fix but my coworkers were tired of waiting and purchased a new copy of Photoshop.

  • Saving a Photoshop CC project from a Mac (in .PSD format) to a thumb drive and trying to transfer it to a Dell laptop with Photoshop CS6.  Will not open...Error message: could not complete your request because it is not a valid photoshop document.

Saving a Photoshop CC project from a Mac (in .PSD format) to a thumb drive and trying to transfer it to a Dell laptop with Photoshop CS6.  Will not open...Error message: could not complete your request because it is not a valid photoshop document.

The file was corrupted somewhere along the way (assuming it was still readable on the Macintosh).
The platforms don't matter, but you still need file transfer that doesn't corrupt files...

  • Photoshop cs6 could not save as .psd because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file

Have three users with CS6 Design Standard having problem saving files to a network share. All three are running Windows 7 SP1. CS 6 has all current updates applied. Have searched google for solution but all suggestions so far have not solved problem.
Have confirmed that windows explorer preview pane is not enabled/turned off. Other users on the network have no problems saving file to shared folder. Users can save to desktop and then copy and paste or drag and drop to the share!

Further Google searching found this bit of information....and it fixed our problem!
Rather than deleting the files I renamed them as follows Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs_old & Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs_old
To fix and prevent this error from happening, the user will navigate to:
    C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings
Depending on what version of photoshop is causing the error to appear you will delete the following file:
    Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs.psp (for 32bit version)
    Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs.psp (for 64bit version)

  • If I buy Photoshop CS6 on one computer, will I be able to transfer it to another computer?

I wanted to know because I'm a student and I was interested in buying Photoshop CS6 (the extended student and teacher version) for my computer (it uses Windows 7) but I'm to be buying the product on my mom's computer because it's more secure, then transfering it to my computer.
    is this acceptable?

You are allowed 2 activations at any one time - as long as it is on the same platform (IE either PC or Mac - not both). So you should be OK.
    Cheers
