Photoshop CS6 (vs 13.0.1) Severely pixelated images

I have a iMac, running OS X Yosemite 10.0.1.   Almost every time I open any files (RAW or Jpeg) I get  severely pixelated images. I'm going from bridge to ACR to Photoshop or browser to Photoshop. it's intermittent. But extremely often.  I can close the file and open it and sometimes it's just perfectly fine and sometimes it happens again.  Any advice would be great.  I keep all of my images on an external hard drive.  I have 8 GB of RAM. All programs uptp date.

Or, more likely, it's just the known video driver bugs in MacOS 10.10.
Apple is aware of the video driver bugs and working on a solution.
Until Apple can release a solution, you can disable GPU drawing in Photoshop's preferences and restart the app.
If you really need the GPU features in Photoshop, you may want to consider downgrading to a more stable version of MacOS.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 unable to process more than 10 Images for Panoramic

I have Adobe Photoshop CS6 with latest patches installed and cannot create a panoramic picture from 18 photos (360 degrees).  I can get it to work with a maximum of 10 photos.  Photoshop Elements 12 works fine on another identical computer, but not CS6.  Is there a work around or a problem or known bug?  How do I resolve the issue?

  • How can I do birthday invitations on photoshop cs6, by using invitations off of google images.?

I have a few friends that actually do birthday invitations of all sorts by using images that are already made complete but then putting them on photoshop and changing the words of the information. I am actually wanting to do that as well so I can make my children's invites and family invites as well. I currently have photoshop cs6 and I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the heck I am doing.!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.!!!!!!!

    Hello,
that shouldn't be a problem. I tried it with
http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fzeit-der-rosen.de%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2 F2014%2F05%2FRosen-4.jpg&imgre… and you will get many images from roses. The click into the image, sometimes you better use "original" and then the wellknown right click prepares the images for an insert into PS.
BUT be careful, as written in the screenshot: "Die Bilder sind eventuell urheberrechtlich geschützt." what means something like "The images may be protected by copyright." You have to pay for using them.

  • Why is Photoshop CS6 not an option for editing iPhoto image?

I've read everywhere that to edit iPhoto pictures in Photoshop CS6, I need to select it as the application to used to edit the image.  However, I don't have that as an option, only Preview.  And yes, I do have Photoshop installed, I use it every day.  Any ideas on how to get it to where Photoshop is the visual editor?  Frustrating.  Thanks.

You already have selected preview as your external editor - to change it select it again and then select the new external editor

  • I'm having an error in Photoshop CS6 where the numbers in boxes (like image size width) are changing on their own. Can someone please help me figure this out?

This was happening all the time on my old 2006 iMac, and I thought that when I upgraded to a new computer it would go away. No such luck.
Sometimes the program works just fine, and other times I have this error. I haven't been able to pinpoint what is causing it.
Basically what happens is, I will try to type a number in the box to edit the size of the image (or sharpness, etc. something that requires you to enter a number), and as soon as my mouse hovers over the box, the numbers start changing on their own. As soon as I move the mouse away, the problem stops, but of course this means that I am unable to type in the number that I want.
I've tried unplugging my mouse and keyboard - that doesn't change anything.
Has anyone run into this issue before?
    Btw, I use a 2013 iMac, OS version 10.9.5
(I have a video clip of this problem, but I don't know how to share it here)

Your task is hardly a case for Photoshop: replacing text accurately in a scanned, not even
    straightened image.
    My recommendations:
    a) put a crossreference list on each page
       or
    b) straighten the scans and improve the contrast, both by Photoshop.
Then apply a program which converts images of text into machine coded text
by OCR - Optical Character Recognition , for instance Abbyy Finereader
       http://finereader.abbyy.de/professional/?adw=google_eu&gclid=CMirrcCMx7MCFZHRzAodlisAJg
(I'm not related to the manufacturer of this software, I'm just a user).
In coded text it's easy to replace isolated character groups as required.

  • Measuring areas in Photoshop CS6

I would like to measure areas on an image.  I use Photoshop CS6.  But when I go to Images/, all the buttons are grayed except for the Ruler Tool.  How can I activate the others?  Do I need Photoshop extended, and if so how do I get it?  Thanks very much

Go to the Info panel where width and height of the selection are listed in the bottom right quadrant. For total number of pixels in a selection, choose the Histogram panel. In the upper right corner choose Expanded View from the drop-down menu and below the histogram chart Pixels are listed at the bottom of the first column. That should do it.

  • Is there a substitute tool path for "Image Adjustments Variations-" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition?

Is there a substitute tool path for "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition that brings similar results?  I was used to using Image>Adjustments>Variations… in Photoshop CS4 Standard Standard Addition quite often. I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition to get the 64bit memory architecture compatibility on my Macbook Pro, booted in Mountain Lion.  I see now that Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition has the "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" tool path removed.
I don't have Photoshop CS6 Extended, which has the all new Image>Adjustments>Variations… tool path.  I only have Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition so, if anyone can share with me a substitute tool set that can give me similar results to using the old "Image>Adjustments>Variations…,"  I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, R_Kelly.
You helped me to start exploring other tools in the Image>Adjustments Menu.  "Image>Adjustments>Color Balance…" seemed to help me get the results that "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" used to deliver.  "Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" also got me to where I wanted to be in desired adjustments.  I used to get the results I wanted in brightness, contrast, mid-tone adjustment, and color balance buy using just Curves, Variations, and Hue/Saturation.  Now I'll use "Color Balance…" and "Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" along with Curves, and Hue/Saturation.  I also have learned to use "Levels" some more to get the same effect as Adjustments>Variations…"  I always thought there were more technically precise adjustment tools to get the same effect as "Image>Adjustments>Variations…"  Adobe dropping Variations in Photoshop CS6 Mac version forced me to learn better image adjustment approaches for pre press color correction and image warming.  I feel confident now to make Photoshop CS6 my prime-time work tool and move the Photoshop CS4 launch icon off of my Mac OS app Dock.  Thanks again, R_Kelly.

  • Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS6 problem when editing

    Hi,
I have just upgraded to Photoshop CS6 and now when I 'edit in Photoshop CS6' from lightroom and save it, the image doesn't appear next to the original RAW file as it did before. Now lightroom creates its own folder with the edited files in.
For example, I edited a RAW file from a folder called Bissoe valley from Lightroom and saved it. When I go back to Lightroom the edited image is not next to the original file but in a seperate folder called 'Bissoe valley'. I then try to drag the edited image back into the original 'Bissoe valley folder with the original RAW file and it says 'the file already exists at the destination'
I appologise if this has already been asked. I'm guessing I need to buy Lightroom 4 because of incompatibility issues? It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Victoria....you are a legend!
You can see here lightroom has created folders identically named to the folder which the original files belong to (coco, Harriet, Bissoe and independent assignment)
The really confusing part is that when I look in the original folder outside of Lightroom, the saved Tiff image is there next to the original.
I think I will try uninstalling ps cs6 and go back to cs5 to see if it solves the problem and take it from there....

  • Can I use box-counting method to calculate fractal dimension in Photoshop CS6?

Can I use box-counting method to calculate fractal dimension in Photoshop CS6?

If you have a thresholded image, then you can use the mosaic filter and histograms to count coverage.
Iterate with mosaic at different sizes, use the histograms to see how many are black and white at east mosaic size.
Or resize the image, re-threshold, and again use the histogram to get a count.
That should be automatable with a script.

  • Photoshop CS6 Display issues - After Windows 8 upgrade

Just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro (64bit).  Now the background interface in Photoshop CS6 keeps changing when I click the image, the background, the layer and the crop tool.  I get transparent, black and various grey.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled PS CS6 with no change.  I did not have an issue in Windows 7.  The rest of CS6 runs fine. Can anybody help?  Thanks

What is the make and model of your video card?
What is the number and date of the installed video driver?
Is that the latest release from nVidia, or AMD/ATI?
If it is not the latest, go to the nVidia, or AMD/ATI Web site, plug in your card, and your OS, then download and install the latest driver. Test.
Do not trust Windows, or any utility to tell you if you have the latest driver. Verify that from the mfgr's. Web site.

  • How do I get the pixel size at 100% on Photoshop CS6 to match the pixel size that will appear on web

I have a 500px x 500px document open but the size that it looks on Photoshop at 100% does not match the size that is 500px on the web. How do I change it on Photoshop CS6 so that it will give me an accurate display of the pixel size?
(I don't know if this needs to be mentioned but I am working on the new macbook pro and just downloaded the new photoshop update for retina displays).
    Thank you in advance!!!

Ask in teh PS forum. Generally, though, pixels are pixels. Perhaps you simply have things backwards - as far as I know by default Safari doubles image sizes on Retina devices, which can lead to such discrepancies. There's an option for that in the prefs.

  • Photoshop CS6 looks pixelated on Mac Retina screen

I have Photoshop CS6 running on a MacBook Pro with a 15" retina screen. By default it runs in low-resolution, which makes everything pixelated. When I right-click on the app and go to "Get Info" I see an option to "Open in Low Resolution". When I uncheck it Photoshop opens in high-resolution and it looks beautiful, but it's unusable: I can't click on any of the tools, the sidebars, or anything. So I bring it back to low-resolution and everything works well, except that it looks pixelated again.
I have the 13.0 update (the latest one) and there aren't any additional updates according to Photoshop.
Is there any way to have Photoshop CS6 run in high-resolution?
    Thank you very much!

Thank you, Gene, but that's exactly what I was trying before and it doesn't work. In my OP I explained what happens when I try that:
When I uncheck it Photoshop opens in high-resolution and it looks beautiful, but it's unusable: I can't click on any of the tools, the sidebars, or anything. So I bring it back to low-resolution and everything works well, except that it looks pixelated again.
When I open Photoshop and go to Help > System Info this is what I see:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64
    Operating System: Mac OS 10.10.3
It's not 13.0.6. However, when I go to Help > Updates it tells me that all my applications are already up-to-date.
    Any other ideas?
