Photoshop cs6 window too big for screen, lost the drag facility?

I have lost the corner of the photoshop window below the dock so don't have access to the drag facility in the window corner. I have tried resizing the screen but this hasn't helped, any ideas welcome!!

What OS are you running?  I would think it would have some function to allow you move windows that are larger then your display so you can move the windows so part of the window frame is on screen so you can then re-size the window.
For example I just move my Chrome browser window sot the top of the window is behind the task bar.  I now can not move it necause I can mot position the mouse int the window header bar.  However I can position the mouse over the running Chrome icon in the task bar. Windows will show a preview of the running Chrome window or windows. If I right click on a preview window Window's will open a right click menu  I can click on the move item and them move the off screen window on to the display using the arrow keys or the mouse.

  • HDR window too big for screen

When I open the "Merge to HDR Pro" dialog box, it is too big for the screen and I cannot resize it. Pressing the green + button just resizes the too big screen above my dock, but it is still too big for the options that lie at the bottom of the dialog box. How do I fix this?

What is the screen resolution of your monitor?
    One workaround I've seen is:
    Hide your OS X dock
    Quit Photoshop
    Restore your prefs: http://adobe.ly/PS_Prefs
    Restart Photoshop

  • Attach/open file window too big for screen

Just recently I've found that when I go to attach a file in email for example, or open something in the finder the window that comes up from which I can choose my file is too big for the screen. So the bottom corner, which has the "attach" or "Cancel" buttons, is obscured. It's very frustrating... I can hit enter to attach a file but can't cancel it if I change my mind. Hope that makes sense... I've moved the dock out of the way but that doesn't help at all, and I can't use the green button to resize or anything.
Hope someone can help... I've also restarted the computer but the problem is still there. I'm using a macbook pro, and I have upgraded to the latest OSX software.
    thanks

    Hi!
I'd click the title bar of the application, then click on the + to fit on screen.

  • Window too big for screen

I am fairly new to using PS with a Mac, so there may be a simple fix for this. I finally got the workspace window in CS5 to fit the entire screen on my IMac. Recently, the window has gotten so big, that it hides the tool bars on the sides and bottom of the screen. When I switch to 'full screen with tool bar', I can see everything, but there seems to be no way to permanently restore these settings. Can anyone help?

  • NB305 first time setup display too big for screen

I just bought an NB305-310 netbook  (two, actually, and the first one had no trouble). It came loaded with Windows XP.  When I turned it on I wasn't able to set it up right away, when I came back to it, I found the display of the welcome screens and the setup process assistant is too big for the screen, as if it thinks it has to fill a 15" or 17" screen instead of 10".  So I can't see to click on the "I agree" box or the "Next" button etc., so can't proceed through the setup.
I already tried restarting it a couple times (by holding down the power key, since Control-Alt-Delete didn't do anything).  I also tried using the function key with various keys that looked like they might affect display size but no change.  Even the volume function keys didn't change the volume of the setup background music that plays.
    How can I fix this?
    Thank you!

Try this. Press Alt + Spacebar to open the control menu (which may be off the screen) at the top-left of a window.
    Then press M (for Move).
That will enable you to move the window using the arrow keys.
When you get the chance, you'll want to go here and reset the screen resolution to 1024 x 600.
Control Panel > Display > Settings tab > Screen resolution slider

  • Itunes 11 window too big for macbook pro

My itunes window is too big for my macbook pro screen. Itunes 11.0.2, macbook 10.8.3. How can I make it fit?

Click here and use one of the scripts to change the size of the window. This works with applications other than iTunes as well.

  • Encore CS6 - File Too Big For Disk

My Computer Stats:  Imac 3.4Ghz,Core i7, 8GB Ram, About 2 years old.
My Project:  Standard Definition, 16x9 Aspect Ratio, About 4 hours of raw footage captured from dv tapes to external usb drive dock with a 500 GB drive in it, footage edited down in Premeire Pro CS6 to 1:55:00 and used Dynamic Link to bring the project into Encore to make a standard definition DVD. Rendering the ISO file to the desktop of the iMac.
I have done this process many times with projects of similar length.  Each prior time I was able to make a DVD.  I have tried many of the DVD Presets.  The lowest quality preset estimates the file size at 3.4 gig.  But the resulting file is 5.43 gig.  I have adjusted many of the Project Settings and Quality Setting, even setting the quality to its lowest setting.  The resulting ISO file will not get any smaller than 4.92 gigs. Too big to fit a 4.7 gig blank disk.
I have tied this process on the iMac listed above and on a Mac Mini.  Prior to this project I had not had any issues making DVD's on either machine. The only thing that is different and common to both machines is that I had installed Premeire Pro CC recently on both to test it out.  However this project was captured in PP CS6 and edited in PP CS6.
My client wants the DVD's he has paid for.  My deadline has passed.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The first preset has been selected.
Okay; but that is why I want to see the project panel. You can "select" a preset in the edit panel, but not "select" it as the actual transcode setting.
The Transcode Settings panel, not the Edit Quality Presets panel, is where you actually set the preset to be used.

  • Display is too big for screen on start up

When I turn on my macbook, the disply is too big, and I can't see the right 3 inches of my screen.  When I put it to sleep and bring it back up, it correctly fits on the disply.  Any ideas why this does this, and how to correct it? It has been doing this several months now.
    -Thanks!

Ha, figured it out myself from another discussion forum finally. Thoght I'd share in case anyone else runs into this. They must have hit "Zoom" by htting the "Control" and scroll buttons at the same time..
    Resolution:
You can zoom out by holding down the Option and Command buttons on the keyboard and, while you hold them down, pressing the - key.

  • Picture on Apple TV too big for screen

I'm a new user of Apple TV.  Can get picture but no sound.  I'm trying to turn off the Dolby Digital but the writing goes off the screen so I can't tell when it is off.  Any ideas?

TVs do this by design, it's called overscan and nvidia-settings lets you compensate for it in the same place you adjust digital vibrance, flicker filter etc. (The section is labelled something like "TV-0 (TV-0)" usually.) You can also set the overscan in xorg.conf, but I can't remember the option name off the top of my head.
You also need to set the TV standard to PAL in xorg.conf for 50Hz. I just need to ssh into my mum's computer and I'll paste the relevent section.
    Section "device"
    Option "TVOutFormat" "composite" #or s-video
Option "TVStandard" "PAL-I" # default is NTSC
    Option "TVOverScan" "0.65"
    EndSection
The values for overscan differ in xorg.conf and nvidia settings (0.00-1.00 and 0-20 respectively) so in my case nvidia-settings shows 13 which lines up perfectly on my mother's tv. You'll just have to experiment.
On an aside, if you're not using cloned output then 720x576 (PAL TV native resolution) with full overscan gives the sharpest image. (But with quite a bit of the picture missing depending on the TV.)

  • Downloaded Video Too Big for Screen

From YouTube I downloaded the Mozart opera "Cosi Fan Tutti" as an MPEG4. The resulting video image is nice and clear with good sound, but it is larger than my screen. The usual video controls such as play, pause, etc are below the bottom horizon and cannot be seen and some of the picture is off screen to the left or right.  The Zoom in Universal Access is turned on, but Control-Minus has no effect other than to give me a little blip noise. Is there a way to control the size of the Quick Time Player image? ( I am using 10.4.11 on a late 2007 iMac because of some antiquated software I must have access to.)

Unfortunately, YouTube's terms of use forbid downloads unless there is a download button offered, so we would be violating the ToU here if we were to discuss it.

  • Safari's download-location selector too big for screen?

Any one else got this one?
When I try to select the "Other" download location in Safari preferences, the resulting pulldown dialog for selecting the location is so huge it spans off the right side and below the bottom of the screen, so I can't drag-resize it, or even click "choose" or "cancel".
Yes, I can just press Esc, or double click on the folder I want, but still this is a bizarre bug which should be easy to fix.
    Safari 3.1.1

Does not happen for me in Safari 3.1.1. But, to correct your issue try this: open Safari Preferences > General tab and select download location: Other. With the (too-large) dialog box open, press the option key and select Window menu > Arrange in Front. That should bring the resize handle into view at the bottom right, and you can shrink the dialog box down (and that smaller size should be preserved).
If that fails, again with the too-large dialog box open, select System Preferences > Displays and set the resolution to something very small (e.g. 640x480), then after the switch, immediately change it back to your native resolution - that should shrink the dialog box back down to a reasonable size.
    Hope this helps...

  • 970 Gaming - BIOS resolution too big for screen so can't use it, help!

    My specs, Windows 7 SP1
    MSI 970 Gaming MB
    AMD FX-6350
    ASUS Radeon HD6950
    G Skill DDR3 RAM (16gb at 1600mhz)
    1TB Sata HD
Everything else display related works fine, windows, games, videos, etc. and as this is a new build, yes all the drivers are upto date. However, I can't use the BIOS as it displays as if its four times the screens size!
I've taken a pic to illustrate the point and attached it,
And here is of course, what it should look like for comparison,
As you can see, not only is the res' totally wrong, but some graphical elements are not displaying properly, like the lack of the red border, button surrounds on the left, boot devices missing, etc. Any ideas please?

Not every TV acts the same unfortunately.
My one samsung LCD TV looked better using a VGA cable than HDMI (no idea why, it just did), meanwhile the next Samsung LED TV I got looked much better with HDMI but had strange issues whenever I went into the BIOS (this was from a laptop though).
Expecting a company to solve a problem with a TV that doesn't properly implement the HDMI spec is a bit ridiculous to be honest.
