Photoshop CS6 won't open new or existing files
I've had Photoshop CS6 for several months now and never had any problems. Until today; I can no longer open files or create a new one using either method: (File -> New) or (File -> Open). I restarted my computer this afternoon and am wondering if an update took place on my system. From what I've read in these forums, that's usually the culprit.
One thing that concerns me is the System Info. It seems to be saying that I have Windows NT, which I do not. Here is the complete System Info output:

After posting the question, I realized that NT is just the family of OS (Windows 8.1). I seemed to have solved my problem... for now. I went to startup programs and disabled a couple of programs from opening on start. They were related to the Spoon.net application. After restarting, things seem to working fine again.
I hope this at least helps someone else.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 won't open
Around a month ago I bought the creative cloud plan. I'm paying $10 a month for Photoshop CS6. A few days ago I tried opening photoshop but it won't open. I found out that I had been using the trial the past month, even though I already bought the whole thing. A selection comes up shortly after I try to open photoshop saying "License this Software". I don't know what that means but when I click on it it asks for a serial number. When I bought the creative cloud plan it emailed me a few times confirming my order and thanking me for using creative cloud and everything, but it doesn't say a thing in any of them about a serial number. So I tried doing one last thing.
I went to the Adobe website and went to the apps section and selected Photoshop. I hit download and the Creative Cloud App in the top right of my desktop (I think it's called the menu bar, but I'm not exactly sure) opens up but won't load. I select the apps section but there's a blue loading circle that tells me it's loading but it won't stop. I waited 30 minutes the other day and it still didn't load. And yes my internet connection has been fine lately. I tried restarting my computer, closing other apps and everything else but it still won't load. Photoshop cs6 won't open a pic in camera raw
I open photoshop cs6 and go to open. Select the file and then select camera raw and click open but it still opens in Photoshop. I close the file the go to open again but now every file are in light grey meaning I can't select the file to open it. So I have to close photoshop and re-open it and the same problems are happening again. Yesterday everything was totally fine, I changed nothing. I tried doing all the updates on the adobe software but still the same problems. So, I can't open camera raw, and can only open 1 file on Cs6.
If anyone had, know or had read something on that particular problem please let me know. It's very annoying and can't work with it anymore.

Camera Raw preferences: Bridge: menu Adobe Bridge/ Camera Raw preferences.
Inhere you can set the wished behavior for tiff. By default it shows tiffs
only in ACR when you choose to do so with right mouse click menu (open in
Camera Raw) or if the Tiff had earlier been altered in ACR, then it opens
automatically in ACR unless you choose not to do so.

InDesign CS5 crashes on opening new or existing file
I am getting error message 'embedded profile mismatch' on opening existing files (CS5 and CS3) created by myself and other people. The error message appears and InDesign crashes - I have to do a forced quit. On opening a new file InDesign crashes before the file is opened. I haven't yet managed to open any file in CS5. It is an update from CS3.
The profile mismatch warning probably has nothing to do with the crash problem. That simply means that your color settings are different in the new installation.
The continuing crash may be caused by a corrupt recovery file. If there is a file in the recovery folder, remove it and ID should start.
Try exporting the CS3 files to .inx from CS3 and see if those will open succesfully in CS5. -
My Photoshop CS6 won't make new files or open any???
Okay, I just downloaded it. I tried clicking new and put in the size and stuff and this happens...

No. It won't show my blank canvas.
Now if I click on the 'Untitled-1 etc..' and hold it and stuff you can see the canvas, but the second I let it go. It disappears. The same thing goes with opening files. I open them. The thing says its there, but it won't show it. Why does this keep happened? I re-installed it, but still happens.OK, that means that the problem was with your video card driver.
Have you updated your video card driver from the GPU maker's website recently? (you should) -
Illustrator crashes after opening new or existing file
I have the trial version of Illustrator CS5 and am using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3. I want to purchase the full version of CS5 Design, but everytime I try to use Illustrator, it crashes. More specifically, it launches just fine. However, when I click on File>New, or when I try to open an existing Illustrator CS2 file, the application crashes. It is important to note that it has never worked. All of the other applications in CS5 work fine, so far as I know. It is just Illustrator that keeps crashing. Any help would be appreciated. If I can't get the trial version to work, I am not going to purchase CS5 Design at all.
The way that I had figured out that it was the fonts was that our IT department totally reinstalled my operating system & everything worked fine. Then, when I installed a copy of my fonts that I had previously, it had the same exact problem. So that's when I went back to the original fonts & then added my previous fonts in batches & then narrowed it down when I hit the batch that caused the problem. (I have maybe 1000 fonts on my computer) I don't think that you can take off all of your fonts because I think that the computer & Illustrator has certain system fonts that is required to run. I'm not sure how you would be able to get back to your original fonts without reinstalling your operating system (which you probably don't want to do since this might not even be your problem). In the future, a good idea would be to save a copy of your orignal fonts in a separate folder, so that you can very quickly determine if your issue is with a font or not.
I should add that I'm assuming that you've added fonts at some point (all people that I know who work in Illustrator do). If you never have, then fonts are probably not your issue. -
Photoshop cs6 won't allow me to highlight my existing text layers. I select the text tool and the text layer I want to edit, hover over text and each time I attempto to edit a new layer is created. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Remember if you have trouble with a software issue it is the software and not caused by the Mac you are using
Many users simply don't remember when you upgrade software you normally have to go to 3rd party web sites and update software as well.

New Photoshop CS6, 27" iMac, Opens too Large
New iMac 27", new Photoshop CS6. Just opening. It opens much larger than my screen so can't get to bottom R to rescale Photoshop and save it.
Do you have all the updates for CS6? Retina display support came out with 13.0.3 according to this JK blog post.

My Photoshop CS6 won't work...
My CS6 won't open any images. I'm working on a Mac, Mountain Lion 10.8.4. When I double click the photo, Photoshop will open but then not do anything, and my mouse turns into the spinning beach ball of death (as I call it). I tried downloading the update but it would not work for me. I really don't want to unistall/reinstall. Is there anything else I can try?

Photoshop CS5 won't open .kmz files
Photoshop CS5 won't open .kmz files. I did a fresh install of Google Earth, opened it, saved a place, and saved a .kmz file. It reopens fine in Google Earth.
When I try to open it in Photoshop, this message pops up:
File Format Error
This file is from a previous version of Google Earth or it is not a Google Earth file
I get this message regardless of the following:
- ps is closed and i right click the kmz and choose ps (rather than google earth) to open it
- ps is open and i double click the kmz
- ps is open and i choose file/open and select the kmz
- ps is open and i have created and saved a new psd file, then choose 3D/New Layer from 3D File/ and select the kmz
I have tried the usual remedies, change rwx permissions, repair permissions, delete prefs. No luck.
Any thoughts? Software versions are below.

- OS 10.6.8I was trying to see (since Photoshop Extended touts the ability to open kmz files) if I could open a 3D Google Earth file and edit it in Photoshop. A file like this for instance http://ecotope.org/anthromes/maps/. After more research I've learned that kmz is nothing more that a container format - you can change the extension to zip and see what's in it.
I ran across this tidbit in the Photoshop CS3 Extended forum:
Photoshop CS3 Extended supports the ability to import .kmz files created from Google Earth 4 or exported from Sketch-up in the Google Earth 4 format. Photoshop CS3 Extended cannot open Google Earth files. If you have a Google Earth file, you can convert it to a Google Earth 4 format with the free version of Sketch-up.
So, theoretically if I could get a kmz into Google Earth 4 format, I could open it in Photoshop. But I haven't had any success importing a kmz or kml into SketchUp. Even just making a native sketchup file and trying to import that in psd gives a ram error.
Probably I'm wishing for the moon. -
Error message Photoshop CS6 won't start in Windows 7
I am unable to start Photoshop in Windows 7 (64 bit Home Premium). I gegt an error message saying Photoshop CS6 won't start and telling me to close the program. Is this a common problem and is there a solution? I have tried opening the program in safe mode and tried a clean boot all without success.

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Editor and see if you can launch the program directly from the desktop.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New à Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
C: à Program Files à Adobe à Photoshop Elements 9
Within the Photoshop elements 9 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the blue icon)
Select that file and click Next.
Then click Finish.
You should now be able to launch by double clicking on the new desktop icon, bypassing the welcome screen.
