Photoshop CS6 wont use my graphics card.
When I try to use the Oil Paint filter tool I receive an error claiming that an "uknown graphics processor error" had occured. I then checked under my preferences and Photoshop is not using the correct graphics card. Is there a way for me to fix this problem so that I can use photoshop? I have a switchable radeon graphics card in my computer and use catalyst control center to manage it.

Photoshop CS6 trigger to Upgrade Graphics Card?
Photoshop CS6 beta release "the first version to integrate the company's GPU-accelerating Mercury Graphics Engine (MGE)". Does this mean that I could expect speed benefits in Photoshop if I upgrade the NVIDIA 8800GT card in my early 2008 Mac Pro?
I have been wondering about whether I should upgrade my 8800GT for a while (my box is fine: new PSU, plenty of RAM) and thought if Photoshop will benefit that might be my prompt to act.I have read from couple people at different times that 1GB VRAM is not enough and the "special" MVC 2.5GB GTX's have lots of... punch.
The 5770s is okay standard Mac Pro offering - two yrs ago = some had noisey fans but there have been 3 revisions since probably and they are and should be quiet.
Quiet and high performance do not always go togehter. One of the downfalls of the 8800GT is... they fail, and they don't have the best fan and cooling, they aren't dual-slot width in desgin. There are copper coolers but I wouldn't - it has just 512MB unless you got a custom flashed version.
OpenCL has improved but hard to develop, it needs too much work to optimize the code for one thing. And new compilers - great but will they get used to develop CUDA+OpenCL code?
Hope the Nvidia GTX 670 becvomes a real offering. At $399 it is actually in the same cost as a 5870 was.
A Quadro 4000 or whatever comes after it with 2GB is or should be considered as well. Yes?
64-bit kernel mode and 24GB RAM or more. 16GB and not using 64-bit mode may help from where you are of course, but might want to have more to get the most out of your system.

Photoshop CC - force selection of graphics card when dual graphics cards in use
I have Photoshop CC on Win 8 with 2 graphics cards. The inbuilt and the extra card.
This enables me to utilise 4 monitors in my dev environment.
It is not practical to remove a card as I need all 4 monitors.
I have tested disabling each card (one at a time) and Photoshop finds the GPU and works fine.
Q. Is there a FIX to force Photoshop to select a chosen Graphics Card?
Looking around the web, this seems like a large problem.

You cannot use two different graphics cards in SLI which is the main benefit of having two cards.
As far as I am aware the FX1800 is optimised for CAD use when you state mainly editing photo and video so I can't see that card being particularly beneficial to you.
If you can afford it why not just buy a better spec single card either the Quadro or GTX?
I currently run a Windows 7 64-bit system with an i7 3700k, three SSD 6/Gbps, RAID 6/Gbps and 2300 Mhz memory with a recently upgraded GTX 680 and find it more than capable of both photo and HD video editing plus some After Effects work. I would class myself as a serious Hobbyist (with 30 years PC experience) and suspect that yes you need the latest kit if you are editing professionally because of the deadlines and high quality required but once you reach a certain level, the gains are very negligible.
While I was looking to upgrade my card, people on here suggested the Quadro K5000 mainly because I have a 10-bit NEC PA301W (25th anniversary present off hubbie) but this card was out of my budget so I settled on the GXT680 and find it more than capable for my needs. It is much faster than the old Radeon 5770 I had. However, while researching I came across this site which explains the way Mercury GPU is utilised, you may find it helpful:

Editing Photoshop CS6 file using InDesign CS6
I need to edit a Photoshop CS6 file using InDesign CS6. Specifically, I am editing a business card and want to make changes to the layered components (for example: changing color hues, changing logo, changing fonts) and I know nothing about InDesign. Can anyone give me some pointers?
The thing is, I don’t have Photoshop or Illustrator; I only have InDesign CS6 and I want to do the following:
Deepen the colors
Swap the logo for another one
Change the font
I am not able to access the layers because I used the place function to insert the jpeg file in the InDesign document. I remember once being able to access the layered document, but I don't remember how. I tried opening the Photoshop file using InDesign, but it doesn't come up as a readable file. -
Trying to edit video but Photoshop cs6 wont open the files.

I assume these came from a DVD? Was this DVD an encrypted holywood DVD or a home video that you got of something like sky diving? You'll probably need photoshop extended to switch pixel aspect ratios. Or convert them into a format that photoshop understands with a 1.0 pixel aspect ratio. Do you have access to adobe media encoder?

How to make MacBook Pro use intel Graphic card only?
When unpluged, my 15' pro always use AMD praphic makes my battery only work for 2-3 hours. Is there a way to stop computer using AMD graphic card when i'm not playing game???
Try using this software (It is 3rd party but it is safe) called gfxCardStatus. It just places itself on the top bar or side bar (not the dock) it will probably be a d in italics (this is italics for those who don't know) or an i. Just click on it and click on the Integrated Only option in the bar which will switch the card to the original integrated graphics card. Also, check for dependencies bellow the "Dynamic Switching" option (if there isn't just skip this) dependencies can cause changes to your graphics card usage and may be the problem; for me it was but who knows it might be some internal error. If you don't trust me I totally understand just putting it up there for those who want it. You can follow the above option by "ds store" which might also work.

Do I need to tell Lightroom to use the Graphics Card in my new laptop?

I have a new laptop and have successfully transferred my pics, catalogue and LR settings across.
It has better specs than my last one, including a decent (I think!) dedicated graphics card. I have always had integrated graphics before so am not sure how this works. Do I need to tell applications, such as Lightroom, to use the graphics card, or will this be automatically be done by the software/operating system? If I do need to do anything, is this in each software (like Lightroom), the computer settings, or in some third party control software?

They do make usb 2.0 to HDMI adapters which will give you an additional monitor through an HDMI port but the performance is only good enough for web surfing and spreadsheets and such. Photoshop isn't detecting my Graphics Card
I recently installed a Radeon R7 240 graphics card and am still having problems with CC. Everytime i start it I received the "3d features require a minimum of 512MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than that on your system."
I have 2GB of VRAM. Is there any way to force Photoshop to recognize the new graphics card?Check Help->System Info to see what your video cards and drivers are reporting to applications.
Most likely you just need to update the drivers from your GPU maker's website. -
Can I use ATI graphics cards in SLI in MSI-7100?
My stupid-question-ometer is going off the scale, but I don't know the answer; can I use ATI graphics cards in SLI in my machine?

Is it the same with ATI or nVidia - which generally offers best value?And can you refine your other question, please. For one, ATI and AMD is one company now.
