Photoshop darker colors on pc how to save so it looks same on mac?

I'm using CS5 and I create a lot of darker textured websites but when I view them on Mac's, they look a lot lighter and some of the blending is lost because things now are lighter. Is there anyway that I can save out images on my PC so that they will look the same for web viewers who are on a Mac? The only solution I see is making my original layouts even darker but then they don't look as good as I want them for PC users.
Any ideas?

If color consistency is critical for your web work:
1) make sure your own display is set up properly. Calibrate!
2) convert your images to the color profile of sRGB
3) when "saving for web", be sure to check the box to include the sRGB ICC color profile.

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

You indicated that the images "seemed" to be in the right order.  It might be a good idea to rename the images on export using a custom name/sequence.  If you have done that and the images are still not in order, it's possible that your operating system browsing window is using a different sort order.  I sometimes change windows explorer to sort by file type, and then files are sometimes in what seems be a strange order.

  • How to save text file in same format for PC/Mac?

I have a text file on my Macbook.  It doesn't have any special formatting.  I save it to Dropbox and open it on my PC (Vista).  All of the carriage returns are missing and text is a big run on.  How do I get carriage returns to transfer to the PC?

Thanks Linc.  Looks like I need to start using TextWrangler.  I pasted from the TextEdit txt file into TextWrangler and carriage returns were missing.  I formatted the file, saved with Windows CRLF format and it looks fine on Windows.  Is that the correct format?

  • How to save songs from iTunes on a Mac to a usb?

Would like to know how you can save songs or albums onto a usb stick from iTunes. Click and drag doesn't work and I can't copy and paste either. Please help someone.

1st, are we talking about songs that you own?  Or are you talking about songs in the iTunes Store?
If these are song that you own, you should be able to drag and drop them from iTunes to a Folder and a copy of the song should be made.  When you drag them
You can also "Control-Click" on a song and select "Show in Finder" and that will take you to the Folder where iTunes has stored the song.
Show in Finder should take you to the Folder with all the songs for that album.  You can navigate from there to other Folders of your other music, or go back to iTunes and Control-Click on another song, selecting Show in Finder.

  • How to save a JPG in 256 colors?

    I'm using Photoshop CS2.
    1. How to save a JPG in 256 colors?
    2. Is there a way to see an image properties?
-- I want to know if that image is in 256 color or not...

Mary Jo, since you are a newcomer, you may not yet understand that in any given Adobe forum, there are a whole bunch of conversations going on at the same time. Each one of these is about a certain "topic", described in the title and opening post. The discussion sometimes stays right on point, and sometimes veers off a bit, and there are often quick side-issues branching off from the main topic, but still related. Within limits, people here try to keep the discussion on a single general topic. For example, in this topic, the initial issue is whether there is a way, in Photoshop, to limit the number of colors in a JPEG image to 256; there were discussions about whether this could be done or not, and alternative programs that may be able to accomplish this, and a comparison of the file sizes for 256 bit images in different file types.
Your question, however, is not a logical outgrowth of the discussion. It's a perfectly good question, but it deserves its own new discussion topic. It's like a bunch of people have been sitting around a table discussing the merits of Canon vs. Nikon SLRs, and someone sits down at the table and, instead of joining the conversation, asks a completely unrelated question about point-and-shoot cameras, or camcorders.
It's off-topic here, and you should start a new topic. Make the title descriptive, such as "Why does a 8 megapixel image result in a 3 megabyte file on my computer?" (assuming that's what you want to ask -- just "M" doesn't tell me whether you are talking about MP or MB). In the initial post, provide a more detailed description of what you want to know. Tell us what camera and Photoshop version you are using, and how you encountered the issue. People will see that a new topic raises an issue they know something about and you will get a response -- probably a good answer, if you keep in the conversation.
[Edit: Trez hit "post" before I did. Trez-- I think she is using Photoshop, not Elements; she did say CS2.]

  • CS5 print dlg reverts to 'Photoshop Manages Colors'

Hello!  I'm struggling with the Print dialog box in CS5 (12.0.4 x64).  I want to apply printer color adjustments to a print job.  I choose 'Printer Manages Colors' then open the Print Settings dialog for the printer, make the changes I want then click OK.  On returning to the Photoshop Print dialog I see that where I had chosen 'Printer Manages Colors' has reverted to 'Photoshop Manages Colors.'  If I open the printer properties dialog again I find the settings set to default rather than to the settings I had just previously selected.
FYI, under Printer Profile in the Photoshop Print dialog the printer's ICM profile is selected.

  • Printing from CS5, Photoshop Manages Colors

I only do photo quality prints to Epson matte  a few times a year so I run test prints with various settings to get what I want. My granddaughters wanted some prints from a web site framed and my wife wanted  prints of an emailed photo of their old mountain cabin. I had to do some color manipulation of the cabin, but the web site images had been expertly processed and all I had to do was print properly. I experimented with the cabin image print settings. Epson changed the names of all their papers, so the Epson print profiles in the print dialog didn't match the name on the matte paper box. I deciphered that, but I wasn't happy with the result so I tried two of the other Epson profiles and hated it. There's quite a long list of profiles available, some specific, and some just conventional color spaces like sRGB, aRGB. For the heck of it I tried Pro Photo RGB as a printer to paper profile. The print of the cabinimage with an embedded aRGB profile was everything I could want. I did the web site sRGB images the samwe way and they were really nice.
The puzzle is this: What does using Pro Photo RGB as an instruction to the printer cocerning what it is printing to thru Photoshop even mean? The printer has never heard of the colors possible in Pro Photo, and the source image is in sRGB ( verified by Photoshop). I can conceive that an RAW image should be rendered as aRGB for inkjet and that the inkjet has some blues that are outside the aRGB, but I can't understand telling an inkjet to use Pro Photo to print sRGB.
Maybe gator soup knows what I'm trying to get at.

  • When i save a file on Photoshop the color turns darker.

    Hi everyone,
I have CS6 and when i am working on Photoshop the color is fine and everything shows up how i want. Although when i save the file to a .jpeg the color drastically darkens to a point all my lighter details are lost. I tried emailing the .jpeg and .psd to another computer in my house and it works fine on them.My color settings currently are set to North America General Purpose 2 with sRGB selected. Past this point i don't really know what to try, if anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue fire away please.

Photoshop is a color managed application, and uses icc profiles to maintain color appearance over a broad range of scenarios. This includes both a document profile and a display profile.
Many other applications are not, and all bets are off there unless you take specific precautions. So the question is, what application are you viewing the saved jpegs in outside of Photoshop?
A screenshot showing the two side by side would help pinpoint the exact issue here.

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
    To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.

    Hi shriyansh,
Where did you call the method SaveStatusBarColor() and LoadStatusBarColor()?
I have called your SaveStatusBarColor() in the OnNavigatedFrom method and called the LoadStatusBarColor() in the OnNavigatedTo method, it worked very well in my side.
So I can not reproduce your issue.

  • HSB Color Space Question - How Many Colors Are There In Photoshop

Hello guys, I have a sort of basic question that I have been trying to figure out for a few days.
I am trying to find out how many colors there are in the Color Picker  when the Hue radio button is selected.
I know there are 256^3 RGB (#Hex) colors, and I am trying to find some relationship when I am coloring with HSB color space in Photoshop.
It just confuses me because the Hue slider goes from 0-359 and the S and B goes from 0-99...
So how many HSB colors in Photoshop are there?  Am I missing out on some colors by using HSB color space in Photoshop as oposed to using RGB?
Are there the exact same amount?  Are there more and there are duplicates in HSB space mode?
Thank you all for all your help, much appreciated
    Travis

The deficiency of such mathematical models is that they do not take into account noise and human perception. In an 24 bit RGB space (8 bits per channel) there may be 16 million colors, but this assumes that there are 256 discrete levels in each color channel. You could increase the number of colors by using a 48 bit space. In practice, noise will reduce the number of discrete levels, and this will vary with the camera and ISO used in that camera. For example, consider the Nikon D5000 as evaluated by DXO. At  base ISO the camera can resolve only 21.8 bits of color information and this decreases to 15.6 bits at an effective ISO of 2079 (camera ISO setting of 3200).
    http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/eng/Image-Quality-Database/Nikon/D5000
Then you have to consider how many of these colors can actually be differentiated by the human visual system. If you can't see a difference, it really doesn't matter. These differences are difficult to quantitate. One such effort uses MacAdam ellipses shown in this Wikipedia article on a CIE 1931 xy plot. How many of these ellipses are contained in the CIE xy space? The DXO site has similar ellipses for real world camera images.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacAdam_ellipse
See this RIT FAQ for a more sober real world analysis. The actual number of colors is in the millions, but likely not 16 million.
    http://www.cis.rit.edu/mcsl/outreach/faq.php?catnum=1#219
In a real world situation, I would not be overly concerned about differences between the RGB and HSB spaces, but one could increase precision by using a 48 bit space.
