Photoshop Elelments 2 won't launch

My photoshop Elelments 2.0 program won't lauch -- it says it won't initialize because the scratch disks are full.  This is a new problem -- it has worked perfectly for years, now all of a sudden it won't launch.  I did install a new hard drive recently.  Reinstalling the program won't help.  Anybody have an idea?

The problem is that your new hard drive is probably larger than a terabyte and PSE 2 can't understand a drive that large. The only solutions would be to partition your drive into smaller partitions or upgrade to a more recent version.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Won't launch

My motherboard died.  I put a new motherboard in and have been reinstalling the OS (Windows 7 Professional) and reinstalling all of the programs.  I successfully re-downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 and entered my license key and it installs.  When I launched it, it came up to the welcome screen, but when I try to open the Organizer or the Editor, it won't launch!  I switched to startup in the Organizer versus the Welcome Screen and now it won't launch at all!
I uninstalled the program and tried reinstalling.  It installed, but the program will not launch!

    Hi,
Try starting the two applications directly by creating shortcuts to the following files.
    Organizer: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 13 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
    Editor "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 13\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
If you need help with creating the shortcuts then come back and I will explain how to do it.

  • Photoshop CS6 Installer Won't Launch on Mac OS 10.8.2

I've downloaded the Photoshop CS6 disk image but when I open it and then double-click on the installer to launch that, there is no response.
I've tried the suggestions in this help document but have had problems with that as well:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/exit-code-15-installing-ccm.html
The first suggestion in that help doc is no problem -- restarting and running permissions and disk repair. But that doesn't solve my issue.
Trying the second suggestion, I run into a response different from what is described in the help document.
After I open Terminal and enter "sh " I then get a prompt which reads "sh-3.2$ "  (Parenthesis marks here are to indicate what I'm typing or the computer's response; I'm not typing parenthesis marks themselves.)
If I drag Clean Entries.sh onto the terminal window, then the entry is NOT as described in the help document with the path DIRECTLY after "sh ". On my computer it reads: "sh-3.2$ /Users/PFD/Desktop/plist/Clean\ Entries.sh " and if I hit return I get this response in the terminal window:
    mkdir: /Users/PFD/Desktop/temp: File exists
    mkdir: /Users/PFD/Desktop/temp/LaunchAgents: File exists

I have Photoshop CS4 already installed and running fine. I moved to a new computer (Macbook Air, now running OS 10.8.2) a month ago via a Time Machine backup; I found at that time that caused problems for re-registering PS CS4. I had to do an uninstall and a clean re-install to get it to allow me to register properly.
I bought an upgrade to PS CS6 a month ago and haven't had time to try installing it until now.
Now I'm trying to install but there is no response from the installer, as noted above.
    Any help appreciated.
    thanks,
    Paul D.

PFDuke it looks like you maybe guessing that you have Exit Code 15 based off the fact that the installer did not launch.  I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to determine the exact error.  You can find details on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Photoshop Elements Organizer won't launch

In Photoshop Elements 8.0 I attempted to order photo prints through Shutterfly. The transfer never completed. Now when I open Photoshop Elements and click on Organize, the Organizer never launches. I would like to retrieve all the folders of photos I have organized, captioned, made into CDs, etc. with Photoshop, but I cannot get the Organizer to open. I have tried to use all suggestions found to date on the forums with no success. Can anyone help me get my Organizer opened?

Please try steps listed on blog: http://psekb.blogspot.in/2013/03/pse-organizer-is-not-launching.html
Please let me know if it is still not working for you.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 won't launch after installation

I get an error message that the application has been moved from it's original location, and needs some repairs, with an option to repair now or cancel, and when I click through to accept terms and use as a trial, it just disappears as if I never tried to open it.  Same with CS4 trial download.  I called Adobe, spent 2.5 hours on hold, then 2 hours doing various things which had no effect.  I called back today, and was on the phone for 2 hours, when I was disconnected, and wasn't called back, even though she REQUESTED my number for precisely that reason.  I'm trying to purchase an Adobe product, but if the trial won't work, then I'm not risking the money.
    Mac, snow leopard 10.6.2

I'm also on a Mac running 10.6.3 and Elements 8.
I think the installation process malfunctioned.  I'd COMPLETELY DELETE the Photoshop Elements 8 folder in the Applications folder and start the installation process again.
It's very easy to give a copy of an expensive application to a friend.  The application developers - like Adobe - don't like that because they don't make any money on the transaction.  They spent millions of dollars creating the application, so you really can't blame them.  So they all take creative steps to let an application determine if it is a genuine copy - or a bootleg copy.
One way to let the application determine if it is a genuine or bootleg copy is to create a hidden file in the application's folder.  The file is there, but you can't see it.  If you make a copy of everything in that application folder, you won't copy this hidden file because you can't see it.
The Mac's operating system file catalog knows this hidden file is there, because otherwise it might overwrite that unused hard disk space.  But it has been instructed not to tell you about the file's existence - and not to copy it with normal copy procedures.  Apple built this feature into the file catalog for its own use.  An important part of the operating system's files are kept invisible in the same way.  That prevents idiots from deleting important files - and engaging in do-it-yourself brain surgery.  So application developers use this feature for their own purposes.
Each time the application starts running, it checks to see if that hidden file still is there.  If the file isn't there, then the application refuses to run.  I'd suspect that in your case, the hidden file isn't there.  I think that is what the "application has been moved" warning is telling you.  They don't want the warning to be too specific because they don't want to tell the hackers of the world one of their security features.
There's no way you can re-create this hidden file - except to go through the installation process a second time.
Remember that all this is my supposition.  I know that some application developers use this technique.  I don't know that Adobe is using it.  But what you are seeing is consistent with the application realizing that something important is missing - and refusing to run.

  • Photoshop elements 6 won't launch

I am running osx 10.5.8 on power mac g5.  Have been using photoshop elements for years and it suddenly stopped launching - just freezes on scanning for presets.  Only thing I could figure out was that it got corrupted some how - bought a new elements 6 - freezes exactly same place.

Oops, I see you posted that info. Okay, go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 settings
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 paths
    Opera preferences
    Repair permissions and try again.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 won't launch from a bootable backup

I regularly back up my hard drive to two different external drives using SuperDuper. I can boot from them, but when I do Photoshop will not launch. It evidently wants to see a particular hard drive as its home. What is the solution to this?  I tried googling but got no answers.

Oh, never mind. This forum has become useless.
Actually, under Mavericks now, a dialog box comes up and asks if you want to change paths, if you say no, PS opens anyway.

  • Photoshop CS6 won't launch and when it does it's really slow...help?

    Hi,
So my copy of Photoshop CS6 sometimes won't launch and when it does manage to launch fully, it's really slow. I mean ridiculously slow. The only times when I can get it to run even remotely quick is if I shut down my computer, and then restart it and then start up Photoshop CS6 as the first program. Even then it slows down after a while. (And I only have a firefox browser open usually, never more than a couple of tabs at once, so it's not a bandwidth issue)
    Here are my comp specs:
    Samsung
    Processor:
    AMD A6-3420M APU with
Radeon (Tm) HD graphics 1.50 ghz
    Installed Memory (RAM) - 4.00 (3.48 usable)
64 Bit operating System running on Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1
I also did just recently install the new update Adobe had for Photoshop, so that's up to date.
It's getting really frustrating! I have another program I'm using in the meantime (Paint tool Sai), but I'd really like to use Photoshop CS6.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure you updated the drivers from AMD's website, not Microsoft.
Make sure you are running the 64 bit version of Photoshop, not 32 bit.
Disable all third party plugins, and try disabling system utilities (we've seen font managers, antivirus, disk backup software, etc. cause slowdowns due to bugs in those utilities).

  • Applications won't launch in Yosemite OS X

After installing Yosemite OS X some applications such as Photoshop CS6, Firefox won't launch. The icons of the applications keep bounching in the dock and after a while it will stop bounching  with the message "Application Not Responding". Seems like every application which isn't by Apple has launching problems...
Need help to fix this fast.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

As i wrote my crystal ball is not working well on this.  I can not tell if you have installed Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application which is used to Install Photoshop creative cloud versions Or that you downloaded the Photoshop direct installer without using Adobe Download Manager. You write PS goes immediately into an error and shuts down.  You do not include what the error is. You do not show Windows Reliability History PS crash report.
