Photoshop Element 8 Greeting Card Project Page Size?

Can someone explain why I do not see the "Page Size" option in the Greeting Card Projects Bin? Thanks.

Thanks Garry. I have done this but the print size option doesn't appear (BUT it does for other Projects but not for the Greeting Card Project). The rest of the functions on the Greeting Card Project all appear to work. The Greeting Card just comes up as 7x5 but there is no option to change this.
I am using Vista home premium. All print options/functions are working normally and i don't seem to have any other problems with Photoshop Elements.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Greeting Cards

I have tried and tried to print a greeting card locally (i.e. on my home printer) using Photoshop Elements 10.  I have searched the forums and found suggestions to save and reopen to print, but it doesn't work for me.  I can't believe Photoshop has had this problem for so long and never fixed it.  I bought PSE10 a month before 11 came out and when I try to contact support, they refuse, telling me support only applies to 11.  I have searched, phoned, chatted, and experimented for hours, only to tell me that for another $29 Adobe will discuss the issue with me.  Incredible.    When I click the menu to create a greeting card, it gives me size options for Shutterfly, nothing for local printing.  And if I click PRINT, it doesn't work - it prints the card out on four separate sheets of paper, no matter what settings I try to change.
I finally insisted on speaking with a Supervisor, named Fhekhar, who sounded more accomodating after a long wait on hold.  They sent me an email with link to solve the problem without charge.  It directed me to http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/create-greeting-card.html, which I had already found.  It doesn't help at all.  But it too suggests you can print locally - it just doesn't tell you how.  They also sent a link to A Photoshop Elements 9 video tutorial for printing greeting cards.  http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-elements-9/creating-greeting-cards/ which I have also found before - and again not helpful.  It goes all the way up to the actual printing, but stops there and doesn't show you how!
Photoshop Elements 10 will allow you to print greeting cards on Shutterfly. I do not want to pay for printing on Shutterfly - that's why I have cardstock, an expensive photo program and a printer!
    Has anyone solved this??????????????

I have used Greeting Card Factory and it's an inexpensive excellent program, but there is no need to purchase it.
I made my greeting cards from scratch.  I don't bother with the templates provided with PSE.
For fold-over cards, I make two projects.
Start with a document size  before folding.  i.e. -  8.5x5.5 card needs to start with a 8.5x11 document.
Document one is the front and back of the card.  Note, the front graphic needs to be on the bottom of document one.  Anything for the back needs to be upside down and near the top of the document.
Document two is the inside.  Again, the verse needs to be on the bottom half of the document.
I save them as jpgs and print document one on the first side
Reinsert the cardstock, print document two on the other side.
When printing - the only thing that is tricky is making sure you re-insert the cardstock in the right direction.
I have found it much easier to do things my own way rather than work within the confines of PSE's templates.

    hi barbara
thank you for your response, i appreciate it.  there's definitely nothing wrong with the mouse or trackpad, both work fine in every other application....i can also easily change size dimensions in other programs on my computer so it doesn't seem to be that either.  it seems like there is something weird going on in the way that pse and my mac are interacting with each other, just wish i knew what it was.    thank you again, wish me luck!

  • Photoshop Elements 6 online gallery blank pages

I've created a few online galleries to put on my Windows Home server website. They look good on the local network, but when accessed on my website, the browser pages are usually blank. Sometimes I can get something to show up, but usually not.
I discovered some information on the Flash components that seem to cause a similar problem for Photoshop created online galleries:
    http://blog.choppingblock.com/2009/05/photoshop-photo-gallery-flash-detect-update/
Unfortunately, due to the structure of the templates being different between Photoshop and elements, I couldn't figure out how to "fix" the online gallery templates in Elements. The logical solution for something like this - if this is indeed the problem with elements, would be for Adobe to provide a down-loadable fix for Elements. I don't have great hopes for this since Adobe is not very proactive in supporting Elements if you don't have the latest version.
    I have this configuration:
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Adobe Flash 10
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6/Premier Elements 4
    Internet Explorer 8.
Access is on a website hosted on my Windows Home Server.
    Any thoughts out there?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the reply. I did copy the entire folder structure over to the
server. Each online gallery is within its own folder. On the server itself,
the gallery displays properly. It displays properly when it is accessed from
my laptop by mapping the server drive. It does not display when logging on
to the website (hosted on the same server). Very strange, but I've found
others who have had similar problems, just no answers except the possible
flash detection problem documented in the link in the original message.

  • Can i use avery or hallmark blank greeting cards with pages?

I would like to make my own greeting cards using commercially available cards and templates, such as avery or hallmark's products, or plain cardstock.  I'd appreciate any how-to advice on this subject,   the simpler the better.

Stick the stock in the printer.
Download the Word templates from the company's websites and open them in Pages.

  • Making Greeting Cards in Pages

I am very frustrated. I am so used to Page Maker and the way it worked. I was able to make greeting cards with it. I seem to not be able to do it with Pages. In Page Maker I divided the document in two. I could print a card on the top half as well as the bottom half. I used guidelines to divide the document in half both horizontally as well as vertically. I would insert my graphic on the right side and be able to move it around where I wanted it. I would also put a text box on the right side and center that as well. For the life of me I cannot get it to do that with Pages. I divided the document in half with guidelines but cannot get my graphic to go on the right side nor can I move it around. My text goes all over the place. I cannot center it on the right side. I am so used to being able to move my graphics and text around. Is there any way I can do in Pages what I used to do in Page Maker? What am I doing wrong? I sure do miss Page Maker.

    Hi Roberta,
Don't let your frustration wear you down. Pages works great for greeting cards. It seems from your discussion that you're producing either tent or book fold cards. Neither is a problem.
First for your text. I recommend using the Layout view from the view menu. then click somewhere off the page (but still in the Pages window) so that the text cursor is no longer visible. Once that is done click the Objects icon in the tool bar and select Text. You will notice that a text box shows up on your page with the cursor blinking inside. Open the Inspector and click on the third icon from the left at the top of the inspector. This is the Wrap Inspector. Click in your text box to make sure it is selected, then click "fixed on page" in the inspector. You can then move the text box anywhere on the page you wish (by dragging) and you can rotate and resize it any way you want using commands in the various inspector panels.
Inserting images is similar. Simply click on the insert menu, and click on choose. Then find the image you want and click on insert. Bingo, the image is on the page. Select the image by clicking anywhere on it and then go to the inspector and make sure "fixed on page" is selected in the Wrap Inspector.
You can do the same basic operations as many times as you like and once each object is "fixed on page" you can move it or reorient it at will. Another poster in this group advised reading the manual and practicing. I entirely agree and think you will find Pages to be rather straight forward to work with.
One other thing you may want to consider is creating a template of your cards to save time each time you want to create a new one. The manual (or help system) provides excellent guidance on template creation and saving.

  • Photoshop elements 7 pitcure opens in hugh size

recently every time I open a picture in photoshop elements 7 the picture opens in a very very large size & I cannot reduce plus it takes forever to open &

That's odd. On opening any image in PSE it always open in fit to screen size. If this is not happening for you  then you might have to delete the preferences file as they might have get corrupted.
Launch photoshopelementseditor.exe with Ctrl +Alt+Shift press . That would prompt you to delete preferences settings file. Press "OK".
    See if this helps.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 help.  Adjusting the size of a JPEG

Hi everyone.  I am an artist and am having trouble adjusting the size of my JPEGs.  I have Elements 11.  I am sure the solution is quite simple.  When I want to adjust my JPEG height to 900 pixels, for example, I go the the "Document Size."  I can type in 900, but the options are only in inches, percent, cm, mm, points, picas and columns, NOT in pixels.  On the top, it reads, "Pixel Dimensions," but I do not see any way to adjust the dimensions in that spot.  Is there a way to do this?  I run into this problem every time I go to adjust the size of a JPEG, and eventually have to ask a friend to adjust them for me.  Please advise me on this!  Thank you so much, Adrian

Image >> Resize >> Image Size
You need to put a checkmark in the resample box and then you can adjust pixel dimensions.

  • How do I find folded greeting cards in Elements 10?

I'm using elements 10 but don't see any folded greeting cards, only flat.

Are you asking about video transitions like turning the pages of a photo book? Where are you seeing the 'flat' greeting cards?
[EDIT] Photoshop Elements has greeting card features including Folded. If that is what you are looking for you will get better advice from the Photoshop Elements  forum.

  • How can I get bi-fold greeting card to print?

I have Elements 9 and created a card in bi-fold format and cannot figure out how to get it to print in that format.  I have a Dell V715W printer.  Photoshop help is of no help.  I am trying to figure out if I need to print add a blank page to the front and print two pages to one sheet (front and back) or something else.  There don't seem to be many options when printing or edit options to the file/project/card within Elements 9.  Help!!

    Riley,
Finally got a reply of sorts from Tech. To sum it up, Adobe has a problem . . .
"We have verified this behavior. and we are checking with the engineering  group whether this is considered a bug or not. When creating one of the  folding greeting cards, these are templates designed to be printed by  Shutterfly. Because of this, the layout is meant for their printers to  work correctly. It is not optimized for local home printing.
.  Meanwhile,  you can either use the print service (shutterfly), use the  workaround of using the .PSD files, or to create the greeting cards  without using a shutterfly template.
As a work around, you can  save the greeting card project as a .PSE file (by clicking the Done  button and choosing to save). When you save a multi-page document in  PSE, you get a .PSE project file and a folder with the same name. In  that folder is a .PSD file for each page in the project. If the customer  opens and prints these they will get the expected behavior of two pages  (instead of three), but the front page will not automatically print on  the lower half of the page, that will have to be adjusted either in the  print dialog (recommended) or by manually increasing the canvas size in  the Editor. Duplex printing is not supported by Photoshop Elements, so  you will have to consult with your printer manufacturer for instructions  on how to best perform this."
So, the home printing - at least using their templates - doesn't work properly in Elements 9.
    Hope this helps.

  • Greeting card templates

I seek replacement for functionality of Easy Card, a legacy program for Apple's Motorola-chip computers. Easy Card allows you to print 1 page and fold it in fourths to produce what appears to be store-bought greeting card--cover art, inside art or text and text or art on back cover.
By contrast, templates for greeting cards in Pages print out as sheets to be folded in half and no way to add text to back of card nor to print on 1 page for the cover and inside text?
    I have not found a simple, good greeting-card program for Intel-based Mac's
Any suggestions for rendering the card in Pages or alternative application for simple greeting card production?
    Thanks.

To create a template should take no more than 5 minutes at most.
Make a dummy of the folded card out of a sheet of paper, then unfold it to act as a guide.
    1. Make a blank Layout mode document 2pp to the unfolded size
    2. Drag out 1 horizontal guide and 1 vertical guide to the centre of document dividing it into 4
    3. Make appropriate text boxes/image shapes on the 4 sections:
    +Menu > Format Advance > Define as Placeholder Text / Image+
    4. Rotate them into the correct position
    +Inspector > Metrics > Rotate+
    5. +Menu > File > Save as Template…

  • How can I successfully download Photoshop Elements 7.0?

Sorry if there is a question like this already.
I got a new laptop today. I downloaded all my software and transferred my files. However I have been unsuccessful to download Photoshop Elements 7. I have the disk and I have it installed in my old laptop. I have not had a problem with installing it before aside from it taking too long now and then.It always stops downloading when it is installing the background pictures. It specifically stops when it is installing the Grass Mat. jpeg or the Hand Made Paper01.jpeg.
I get the error message "error 1305. Error reading from file C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\7.0\Photo Creations\backgrounds\ (Grass Mat.jpeg/Hand Made Paper01.jpeg). Verify if the file exists and that you can access it."
I followed the troubleshoot Adobe offers for this error without success. When I tried to install it from my desktop, but the file Data1 or something couldn't be copied because my laptop could not read it. I tried taking out the disk and putting it in again, I tried manually downloading from 'Computer', and I have also temporarily turned off my anti-virus protection.
I have only fixed the error once the first time when I clicked on the jpeg file it requested (though no photo could be shown so I guess no access?) , but then it got stuck on another jpeg. I need help! I really would love to have this installed.

Elements 7 is an ancient version but there is a download link available here

You must follow the Very Important Instructions on that site first before you click the download links.
Alternatively you can upgrade to the current version Elements 12 for US$79.99.

If you know which older version that is you can likely download the trial version from its link below and use your serial number to activate it....
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • Photoshop Elements UI font too small on high-resolution display

    Hi,
I have recently purchased a Dell XPS15 laptop with a QHD+ (3200x1800) display. The PC is running Windows 8.1. I have also purchased Photoshop Elements 12 to run on it.
With the display at the native resolution, it is necessary to have the "Change the size of all items" option in the display settings of Windows 8.1 set to "Larger", in order for the native Windows fonts and UI elements to be at a reasonable size. The laptop came with this option enabled by default.
However, disappointingly the UI font size in Photoshop Elements is way too small when the display is at the native resolution. The application is basically unusable.
I have tried setting the "Use system font" option in the General preferences, but this doesn't seem to help.
The only way I can get the Photoshop Elements UI font to a reasonable size, is by dropping the screen resolution (to say 1920x1080).
This seems like a terrible waste of a beautiful screen, particularly when my main reason for using the PC is for editing photos, and my photo management and editing software is preventing me exploiting the full resolution of the display.
I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately there is no option in PSE to vhange the UI fonts (other than switching to System Font' in preferences. So traditionally changing the Windows display font size has been the only workaround, and even that can cause problems with individual menus disappearing and being replaced with a hard to spot  >> drop-down menu.
If you have a dual-display system you could have the menus on the lower resolution screen with images on the hi-res.
