  • Photoshop Elements 12.1 upgrade fails

Photoshop Elements 12.1 update fails with U44M1P2003 error. Tried shutting down antivirus and firewall. Also looked at registry entries suggested with three of the four missing and the fourth was correct path.

    99jon:
Doing another uninstall/re install and disabling Avast and Windows firewall allowed the Elements 12.1 update to install. After the PSE 12. re-install I could not initialize PSE12 properly. I would start the editor from the initial drop down menu and the PSE editor would start and briefly flash on the screen then disappear. Organizer works fine but attempting to launch the editor from organizer also results in the editor initial screen flashing briefly then disappearing. I downloaded and installed the 12.1 update from the organizer and it appears to work except for launching the editor. . This is at least the 3rd re-install and don't understand why the 12.1 update worked this time but appreciate the suggestion. The 12.1 update issue is resolved but the product is still not functional.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Organizer does not launch.

I just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and have tried to lauch Organizer so I can do the lessons in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 classroom in a book. I followed the instruction outlined in "creating a new catalog" BUT when I click on the ORGANIZER button there is no file icon. So I opened the PHOTO EDITOR and tried to open organizer there... when I clicked on the ORGANIZER button it still would not launch. I am very frustrated! Please help!!!!

  • Photoshop Elements 4.0 unexpectedly quits when launching

I just installed Photoshop Elements 4.0. Every time I try to launch the program it starts to open and then unexpectedly quits and gives me the option of reporting it to Apple. I've installed it four times and this happens each time I try to launch the program. The installation goes fine as far as I can tell and I restart the computer each time.
I am running OS 10.3.9 on a PowerPC G4 with 640 MB of RAM and 108 GB available on the hard drive, so there shouldn't be a problem with meeting the System Requirements.
Power Mac G4, iBook G3, Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

After reading your response, I think I repaired permissions (in Disk Utility, right? Click on the disk and then on Repair Permissions). I tried several more installs, repairing permissions before each one. That didn't work, so I created a new administrative account and tried installing from there. I did that a couple of times, again repairing permissions before each one. PE still crashes when launching.
My computer is on 24/7, with a backup to my external hard drive scheduled for each night. Since I first installed PE, my back up software has also been unexpectedly quitting. I did a backup after completely shutting down my computer and it worked fine. Won't know until tomorrow whether the automatic backup will work.
I checked the Adobe support for PE and tried some of their suggestions, including going to Console to identify software conflicts. I didn't find anything there, except that the crash log says it's a kern problem. Does that help at all?
I've never had a problem with installing software before. Should I erase my disk and reinstall everything, or is that a last resort?

  • I recently installed Photoshop Elements 13.  I can't launch help & tutorials etc. how can I fix this?

I recently installed Photoshop Elements 13.  I was able to launch help, tutorials etc. but as of today I get "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /chcservices/services/redirect on this server".  How can I fix this?

Had to go with Method 2, but couldn't locate the Preference file, (yes hidden files are visible).
Following the path you suggest, in C: I have Users>user name>AppData>Roaming>Adobe>Elements_Organiser>12.0>Organiser>Log.txt
And I couldn't find it in S: either.
I uninstalled using the DVD program, and this time was sure I ticked the 'Remove Preferences' box. I CC cleaned registry and files before and after removal and again after a restart.
I did a fresh install feeling very hopeful, but I'm afraid the result is still the same.
I suppose I could try installing on C: in case that is an issue, but it's not a very satisfactory long term solution as I'm restricted on space.

  • Silent install of Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM fails

Hi all, hoping someone can help. I'm trying to push out deployment of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 via SCCM. From Adobe's site I found details on adding an XML file to preconfigure various default settings and perform a silent install.  I can push out
the package to my test PC's cache folder no problem, but the advertisement fails with "Failed (bad environment)" message ID 10003. The system cannot find the file specified."
However, I can install the program manually, running the same code from the command line. So, on my test PC, if I go to c:\windows\system32\cache\(package) from the command line, I can type the following "start /wait Setup.exe /UL1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx"
(as per Adobe's instructions) and Photoshop Elements 10 will silently install just fine.
I've read elsewhere that SCCM can have issues with server paths and making use of the %~dp0 variable but I'm unsure if that applies here. In SCCM, in the program properties for PE10, the drive mode is set to "Runs with UNC name." I tried changing to 'requires
drive letter" but it still failed. I'm guessing I'm dealing with some sort of environment issue but I'm stuck as to how to fix. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sir_Timbit

I used "start /wait" as that was what was listed on Adobe's silent install instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-instructions-photoshop-elements-1.html
Again, it installs fine manually, *if* I point a command prompt to c:\windows\system32\ccm\cache\(cache folder)\ and run the start /wait setup.exe line below. But through SCCM, the advertisement report shows:
    Message ID:10003. Failed (bad environment)
An error occurred while preparing to run the program for advertisement "ABC20074" ("ABC00041" - "Install Photoshop Elements 10"). The operating system reported error -2147024894: The system cannot find the file specified. Additional program properties: Command

  • Photoshop elements 9 Facebook uploader fails

When trying to upload a group of photos to a new or an old album on Facebook the process gets to the end of the "uploading" bit and then returns the message:
"Service has encountered an error, kindly try again."
It's done this several times in the last few days and I've not managed to upload any groups succesfully.
The first photo selected uploads and the rest fail.
It worked the first time I did it a couple of weeks ago, what's changed?
    Thanks for any pointers.

  • Photoshop elements 11 organizer install fails

I have a new windows 8 install and installed Elements 11.
During import of my photo's the process stopped and my complete computer froze.
After reboot Elements organizer crashes after startup.

After that I have de-installed and removed residual files manually.
Now it will only install the photoshop (edit) part of the program but the organizer folder will not be created.
The install log shows 0 errors.
i also tried to install to  a different directory but with the same result.

  • After upgrading to os 10.10 photoshop elements 6 and 9 crash on launch

is there a way to get photoshop elements 6 or 9 to work under os 10.10 Yosemite ?

I have't tried it myself, but I can tell you that with all recent versions of OS X, it's absolutely critical to go to your username>library>preferences and delete all PSE prefs before trying to run in a new version of OS X.

  • Photoshop Elements 3 (Mac Installation Fail)

I recently bought a brand new 27" imac and of course i tried to install the photoshop i had on my old pc, on my new imac. I inserted the disk and followed all the steps, the installation seemed to work and it even came up with a message box saying that the installation was successful. However, when i click to run the programme and this message comes up after a few seconds. (See attachment). I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the programme and every-time it tells me the installation is sucsessful yet the same message box appears when i try to run the programme. Does anyone know how i can get arround this problem?
If it helps i believe i received the photoshop free when i brought a printer a few years back. I checked online and from what i can see there have been no similar problems to mine, help please?

I am not sure if PSE 3 is supported on latest MAC versions but newly released PSE 8 is supported on latest MAC versions.

  • Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer "Import Failed"

OK, I have had this problem before and I know there was a fix for it that had something to do with removing a "cache" file in my pictures folder.
The issue is, we just simply use the organizer to get pictures from our camera. We have been doing this and it works nicely everytime.
But once in awhile it scans the memory card, finds the new pictures, we select go ahead an import it, and after flipping through the pictures, it just stops with one message "Import Failed."
This happened some time ago and there was thread somewhere which said the problem was due to a "incomplete transfer" and there were some files to delete and everything got better.
Now it has happened again, and we cannot seem to find that article or remember what files to delete.
Any help would be appreciated.  The solution was simple so we did not save the article for future reference
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
I would suggest, removing the Pictures folder from your watch folder list to solve this issue. For this, in the menu bar , go to File> Watched Folders... .Choose the problamtic folder from the list under 'Folders to watch' and hit 'Remove'. This would solve the current issue, however , you would be record to import files manually from that folder thereafter. Thanks.

Hello!  I'm trying to build my first catalog and keep getting an Import Failed on certain files.  These are .jpg images and can be opend outsid eof PSE 12 just fine.  I've looked at the image properties and they look fine (just as fine as images that are able to be imported).  Is there anything that can be done?  I'm trying to move off of Picasa and these images have been imported just fine into Picasa.  Anything I can check on?
