After Mountain Lion install which was without any error or problem, loading Photoshop Elements 10 results in crash of Photoshop after a second or two of apparent satisfactory program load.  Other Adobe programs function properly.
Is this a problem for Adobe to fix, or for Apple Mountain Lion.

I am having problems with PSE10 too.  It will not install on my Air running 10.8.2.
I have explored Adobe forums and gotten a few suggestions, none of which have worked so far.
Is anyone successfully running PSE 10 on an Air with Mountain Lion?
Or should I just bite the bullet and upgrade to PSE 11?

How do I SAFELY uninstalll Premiere Photshop Elements on Mac with Mountain Lion. Program is useless. Wasted $$.

Program refuses to load after repeated tries.
Cannot edit photos much less movies. No error msgs. I have optimized and repaired catalog repeatedly. I have asked Adobe Help for case help and never received report on what to do or even a follow up call. Ver 9 reports no updates or issues. I have not been able to load files from my HD in Sony Camera. Afraid to clean HD and Vid/Camera Store says that what I get for using Mac.

  • Photoshop elements 9 and Mt Lion

It was working fine. Now when I open a photo I can't perform any functions. It just freezes. And I think I may have originally downloaded it so I have no disc to reinstall it. Any suggestions

The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Quit the application. Then hold down the Cmd+Opt+Shift keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys after a few seconds and you should see a pop up - you may need to look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or go to applications and hold down the three keys whilst double clicking on Photoshop Elements Editor application.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes - then wait whilst the app rebuilds the preferences.

  • What are the problems with Photoshop Elements 10 and  iPhoto in Mountain Lion?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and would like to install it on my new iMac with Mountain Lion. I have read about compatibilty issues with iPhoto.  Is there a way to correct this or is PSE 11  a better option?

Can I suggest posting this question in the iPhoto forum?  There are some true iPhoto wizards there who probably know the answer to your question.

  • Photoshop Element 6 and Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion

Does anyone knows if PE 6 works fine with OS10.8 ?
    Actually i'm under OS 10.6.8
    Thank's
    Have a good day

Yep, no problems. However, if you are planning to upgrade over your installed version of 10.6, see this:
    http://barbarabrundage.com/2011/07/29/photoshop-elements-6-and-lion
which is true for any more recent version of OS X, too. Also, it is very, very important to delete all existing preferences before trying to run PSE after upgrading OS X.

  • Photoshop CS6 and Mountain Lion

I have 2011 Macbook pro with Mtn Lion. Put on PS CS6 and have pixelation and freezing, and I have to force quit.  Also cannot see all my 3rd Party plugins. I contacted Adobe (not easy) and they said problems are all due to plugins and thats all they say.  No trouble shooting...no nothing. (Plugin manufacturer won't help me either). Apple can't help.  I have $3000 computer that is useless.
    1.  Do I sell computer or wait hoping Apple or Adobe will get this together?
    2. Other choice is install WIndows 7 on boot camp and run Paint Shop Pro.  However I doubt any of the old plugins will work on the 64 bit.  What if I install 32 bit WIndows 7? Will old plugins work?
I need help, this is frustrating to no end.

It seems to me that many of the 3rd party plugins are older and I suppose they are 32 bit.
Easiest way to tell is to check your filters list. If you know the filters are installed correctly (in Photoshop's Plug-ins folder) and they don't show up in the list while running PS, they're 32 bit, or possibly even 16 bit depending on how old they are.
So I cannot use either PS program successfully. Is there no fix even for  PS4?
I presume you mean PS CS4 and not literally version 4? Adobe officially supports CS6 and CS5.5 in Mountain Lion. CS4 is Intel native as a Universal app, but I haven't tried it in ML, so don't know how well it works.
Regarding reinstalling Mtn Lion, I could try that but the problem only occurs in Photoshop so do you think that could be the cause?
Hard to say. As an example, I tried installing the CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 Master Collections in Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion. I did this in all combinations, erasing the test drive each time so there were no leftovers from other installs. Each install had all updates installed. In each case, desktop icons were broken such that not all files saved from PS would produce an icon. Two other much larger problems is that saving files would at times either give the error that I didn't have permission to save a file, or it would say .afpdeleted could not be save. In either case, the file being saved would be deleted! You had to do a Save As again immediately before closing the image in PS to save it.
The point of this is that reinstalling the OS after installing the Adobe software fixed all of these issues every single time. So while it may seem illogical, reinstalling the OS might fix the problem.

  • Photoshop Elements 4 and 3 installation error

In 2006 I bought a wacom graphire 4 tablet including photoshop elements 4 and 3. Recently I replaced my Mac (new Mac: OS X version 10.8.4 - 2.9 GHz Intel Core 15 - 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) and now I want to install photoshop elements 4 and 3 again, and when the installation is almost finished I get an error. Please help me to install photoshop elements 4 and 3 to my new Mac.

Well, you should have known that if you upgraded to mountain lion you would lose all your ppc software. Apple has been warning that this was coming since around 2006 and PSE 3 stopped being compatible with OS X back around 10.4, after all. 10.7 has been out for over two years now, so it's not like this has been a big secret.

  • Can't open any files in Photoshop Elements 9 and 11

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and 11, and right now I cannot open any files at all in either one. I keep getting this same error message every time: "Your request cannot be completed because the file format module cannot parse the file". Anybody have any ideas about what's up with this? I have an iMac running MAC OS-X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion.

    CheekyBugger,
As you are using Photoshop Elements, and this is the Photoshop>General Discussions (PsElements' "big-brother"), I would normally Move this post. However, I know that you now have a post on the same issue, in the Photoshop Elements Forum (Moved from Premiere Elements), so I will just Lock this thread. Please continuse to troubleshoot your "Cannot Parse... " issue in the other thread, in the PsElements Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1405398?tstart=0
    Good luck,

  • CS6 and Mountain Lion

Planning upgrade to both. What bugs should I anticipate? Does it matter which one I do first?

Using Photoshop CS6 and Mountain Lion and so far the only
issue I have had is a jumpy cursor with my Apple Wireless Mouse.
Bridge CS6 and Camera Raw haven't had any problems.  Bridge
imports images without issue from my cameras.
Be for warned, you need to install Java seperately as Mountain Lion
    no longer ships with it.

  • Just purchased Photoshop Elements 13, and did not get the Mac version.  How do I switch?

I purchased Photoshop Elements 13, and it was unclear that it was a Wndows program,  When I purchased Lightroom it was for both formats, so I did not look too closely, but no Maac OSX option seems available.  How do I get the OSX version, or get a refund?

I am tired of getting absolutely no where in the web site! I want my money
returned to my VISA. I will purchase the software rather than deal with
Adobe  online! If you know how to reach the correct person please be kind
enough to  send me the information. The link below only takes me in circles! I
have been  trying to solve the installation since Dec 10th. Enough is enough.

Is Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 compatatible with Lion?

My Elements 10 loads to desktop then crashes when I go to open a file using Mountain Lion.  I have reinstalled Elements but still crashes.  It sends an error message to Adobe every time.  Maybe they need to check those more often?  Since it has send twenty or thirty of them......
